The satellite C855 - raised average temperature and fan speed

Hello!

I got this toshiba Satellite C855 since March this year. It is only recently that the CPU temperature and the speed of the fans have been worrying me.

When I'm not playing games or doing a livestream my CPU temp is about 35-40% with the regular 50% fanspeed or not on because she was cool.

When I play games however the fanspeed is up around 66 to 68% with the central unit was 55-60%

I was wondering if this is normal? or I have to clean it by taking it apart. If it's the second option then I'm worried because I don't want to damage anything inside. In addition, I'm not bad with the inner workings of a computer.

Any help or information would be greatly appreciated thanks.

In my opinion there is no reason to panic. T is the logic which is higher under stress, activity of the CPU and CPU produces more heat. Laptop needs to be cooled correctly, so the sensors that control the cooling fans sign up for increasing temperature and cooling fans run on higher speed.

There is no reason for cleaning. And one day if this must be done please don t do it alone. You are not allowed to do this.

  • The Dell Precision T7600 CPU temperature and fan speed

    Hi all

I recently got a Dell Precision T7600 workstation that has two processors Xeon E5-2620.  I checked the specifications of Intel and the maximum temperature for these processors apparently is 77.4 C.

However, when you run fairly intensive applications that can last a few days or so to analyze, I noticed that the CPU temperatures get much hotter than this no difference in the speed of the fan.  I used speedfan and CPUID to check the temperature/fan speed.  The highest I've seen the temperature was 90 c and the fan speed has been only 900 RPM.  He regularly sits on 70 c and still no response from the fans.

I find this a little hard to believe given that surely fans should be a little lower than 90 c action!  I checked the settings of the bios (version A05) and the fan speed control is on auto.  I have also run the diagnostics and it reported no problem.  The fans run, but I'm not convinced that is the speed controller!

    Is this normal?

I managed to re - install the A10 bios (it appeared to include a few things my already installed version is not ).

Anyway, tried to launch a number of things to keep the processor at 100% for a few hours.  It seems that the fan speed changes now and the maximum temperature of the processor, I was able to get (and briefly) was 72 C.  He had served mainly the mid to high 60s with fan speeds ranging between ~ 1000 - 1500 rpm, as required to keep it there.

I would say that the new BIOS has solved my problem.

  • Satellite M70: access to the data of temperature and fan

While we did not have these problems with other laptops, we found a way to access the data of temperature and fan on a Satellite M70.

A friend has tried this on Linux but have failed and also with XP I do not find a way to read data (current temperature of the CPU, or State of the fan-cooler).

Given that I noticed several irregularities when using (the fan is that the CPU load is very minimal), work sometimes is going to be a little uncomfortable.

Thanks for the advice / gw

I put t know if it will help you, but in this ad, someone managed to run a control application of the material.
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=14284

Maybe it will work on your laptop.
But to my knowledge Toshiba doesn't support this request and I'm not sure it will work.
    Anyway, try it's free ;)

  • Need information about the Satellite C855 - 16 c

    Hello world

    Can someone tell me on a toshiba ' Satellite C855 - 16 c.

    Thank you very much

What do you want exactly? Hardware configuration?
Googling around, I found that this Satellite phone has PSKCCE-00C00YG4 model number and probably is offered to the Tunisian market.

    Check it out?

  • Failed to retrieve the Satellite C855

I created the Recovery DVD for this product and they do not seem to work. It's for Windows 8, but failed to start from the DVD. He starts the DVD and then presents a Windows 8 screen that says "Recovery - your PC needs to be repaired" with "a required device is not connected or is not accessible" and an error code of 0xc0000185 (those are zeros). The portable computer is unbootable plu. Using a Windows 7 DVD I can get to the recovery concole - I have not tried it but this and a Live DVD of Ubuntu seem to point to a failure in the recovery DVDs.

I do not have a hard drive recovery partition, but I have no reason to suspect theres nothing wrong with the DVD I created. Other computers can read without any problem.

Is this somehow so I can start this system? I am reluctant to pay 30 quid for a couple of recovery DVD from Toshiba, when I don't think I did anything wrong. If someone has solved this?

Problem with recovery disks is very simple: either it works or not. If recovery disk doesn t work you can not do anything.

In your ad, that I did not understand how extreme recovery installation, but if you not boot the OS or start the installation of HARD drive recovery, there is a big problem. You can only have the factory settings using the recovery disk. Another solution is the installation of the own BONE but I wouldn't do that because in this case you have to pay the new product key.

Believe me, that the best solution for you is a new recovery disk command. It costs 30 euros but you will have the original recovery image and this version must not be activated.
    >.. When I don't think I did anything wrong
In General, you are right but if created the recovery disc are not usable you can do.

  • Problem with the Satellite C855-2EU for departure

    Hello

When I start the computer the toshiba logo comes then she turnes
All gray and then sometimes a clear blue screen with the text, but I can't read because
It disappears fast then the toshiba logo comes up again and again
    Once again!

    Please could someone help me?

I think you're talking about the blue screen (BSOD) shortages and the laptop crashes somewhere in the loop.
In my opinion, this loop can be caused only due to hardware problems.

I put t think its a software problem because Windows 8 includes a feature called auto repair recovery trying to automatically diagnose and fix common problems that can cause Windows 8 not start correctly. Auto repair starts automatically when Windows cannot start properly. Once launched, it will scan the various parameters, configuration options and system for settings files and corrupted files. If it finds anything, it automatically attempts to correct for you.

Have you changed in the past something in the hardware configuration?
Maybe a few upgrades of memory, etc.?

  • Satellite A660 - 11 M and fan speed controller

    Hello

Is there anyway to reduce the speed of the fan on the A66011m Satellite?
The fan operates at 67% and makes too much noise for use in an office environment. Is it possible to reduce this?

    Thank you

    Adam

    Hello Adam

There is a single way to do this. Go to power management and open the advanced power settings for the management of the power supply you use.
You will find Toshiba Power Saver options and parameters for the method of cooling. Open it and put them in optimized battery.

This should reduce the activity of fan cooling.

As you say; the game starts late because the temperature increases to a critical level. That's GPU and CPU performance should be lowered until the temperature would come down.
To me, it seems that the internal parts can not be properly cooled.

To ensure a cooling performance better, please make sure that the cooling fans would be free of dust and air can circulate properly.

Also I recommend you to check the parameters of cooling in the Windows power management settings. The parameters of the single electric plan contains options to control different devices, while the laptop is running in battery mode or to the main stream.
You can set the modules of cooling performance. I think it would be also desirable to diminish the value of 85%-90% max CPU performance, just to check if it would help to eliminate the delay.

  • What do you think about the Satellite C855 - 18 d

    Hello world

I used a Satellite 2410-SP203 for the last 10 years or more.
It has never failed, and now it works always, except for the hinges that cannot hold the screen more due to wear of the normal conditions of use.

Of course, it only works under Windows XP and has serious limitations for software these days.

So, I decided to buy a new one and found the C855 Satellite - 18 d suited my needs.
However, I would like to know what your fellow users think that reliability of the model.

    Thank you

    Hello

Well, generally speaking, it's not not bad.
Its equipped with a processor Intel® Core i5 - 3210M, 6 GB RAM, 640 GB HDD, screen Toshiba TruBrite® HD TFT high brightness and Intel® HD Graphics 4000

But if you want to play some games of next-generation, high-performance, I recommend you to buy a laptop that will be equipped with an ATI or nVidia GPU.
GPU Intel HD internal isn't really option goo for games.

  • Satellite C855-5347 - strange temperature problem

I have an old C855 5347 of 3 years with a strange temporary problem, right of the touch pad between her and the corner got warm enough. I wonder what is in this area that make heat. Speccy time show Ok, all vents are clear.

    Any ideas appreciated!

I can only imagine that HDD produces so much heat. In fact, it is placed in the Middle, under the touchpad, but I still think it's the HARD drive.

  • Speed of the satellite - 12L - C850D slow WLAN and LAN

    Help please

I C850D - 12L running Windows 8.1 and as far as I know, have all drivers up to date according to PC world.

I am not receiving the correct speeds both hard and connectivity wireless. Should get 30 + bottom and 10 upward but getting 10 down and 5 up.

I did the usual stuff of BT and they are on the case - they say that my hub receives correct speeds and suggests that it is my drivers?

Another laptop received very good speed of my hub. HUB is the latest issue of BT

    Happy new year

    > I did used * BT stuff * and they are on the case - they say that my hub receives correct speeds and suggest it's my drivers?

I m really confused. You're talking about BT (I guess you mean Bluetooth), but this Toshiba laptop can't stand NOT BT's
The device is equipped with a Realtek RTL8188CE WLan card 802.11b/g/n and with LAN Fast Ethernet 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX card.

    But he can't stand BT

So could you please provide more details or could you clarify this misunderstanding

  • Re: A few questions about the Satellite X 200-23 G and X 200-251

    There everyone,

    1. is it possible to use these hard disks of 2 x 250 GB in RAID MODE 0 and 1?
2 - is the laptop DDR2 800 MHz, fragmented into several modules and is also able to run this speed? Standard is 667 MHz FAS so I know and maybe maximum.
    3. is it possible to enable or disable Grafik cards?
    4. do you know if this notebook chipset supports the Quad core CPU?
    5. power outlet must be micro-479 with coupling balls, is that correct?

Thanks for answesrs really knowing. :)

    Hi mate,

I have almost the same machine, so I guess I can enlight you with my experience with this type of machine:

    1. No, unfortunately not, the second disc acts as a second HDD and nothing more. You can do software RAID which approximates longer than the share of your intention, but it s not the same as hardware RAID.
    2. no and Yes. No way to won´t CPU works with a higher frontsidebus but yes the modules work in the machine. I guess that the modules will be be underclockes at 667 Mhz to work with the designated CPU frontsidebus.
    3. If you have a SLI machine, you´re able to disable the second card.
4 No, only the Celeron and the Core2Duo.
    5. Yes, the plug has 479 pin butwhat do you mean with ball coupling?

    Welcome them

In addition, this machine is not a desktop computer... ;)

  • How to use the Satellite P100 with MS Vista and MS Bluetooth stack?

I use my P100 Sat for more than a year. I just reinstalled Windows Vista Ultimate from zero, and because I'm really not so satisfied Bluetooth Toshiba stack, I try to use the battery Bluetooth Microsoft original, which comes with panoramas.

After reinstall, Windows found BT device and installed MS BT stack. Everything worked well, but ufetr downloaded and installed tons of updates SP1 included, peripheral BT disappeared completely. I found a few articles on how to Toshiba battery BT from Microsoft, but it seems to be a collaborative XP and above all he always need to install "Bluetooth Monitor for MS Stack", but I cannout find this download to MS VIsta.

  • On Satellite C850-B763 battery mode low FAN speed

    I have toshiba satellite B763-C850

If I use the battery, the speed of the fan on the PC Health monitor is 0
(his work at times, but for a second) and computing becomes hot, but if I put the AC power the work of becoming a fan and there is no problem.

Furthermore, I sent it to Toshiba service center and they change the motherboard, the fan and the battery.

So is there a setting to make the fan works using the battery.

    Please help me.

I guess the power profiles different portable use.
A profile is configured to battery mode to save battery and the other mode is used for optimal performance.

If you wish, you can change power settings:
    Press Windows + X
    Choose Power Options
Now choose the power profile-> change plan settings
    Choose Change advanced power settings
    Choose processor power management
Here you can change the parameters of political cooling system: on battery and plugged in.

I would set it to Active

In case you use the Toshiba Eco Utility, you should check the settings of central electric eco.

  • Satellite A505-S6973 is overheating and the fan runs often

I hate doing this, but it seems to me have encountered another problem that I was responsible for research and reading hoping to correct me. I currently own a Satellite series laptop PC with an Intel Cor 2 Duo T6500 processor 2.1Ghz.

I followed my system for performance issues andi who have noticed for some time (not sure when) has significantly increased the temperature on my system. I'm seeing from my PC Health Monitor my processors running at 59% temperature and fan speed is at 78% and yet when I place my hand near the cooling fins on the side of my laptop, I can barely feel any breeze, but a colleague of mine has a vostro and fan feels like it will run on amendments.

If there is nothing that can be done, I would be very happy, I'm afraid of losing my system because of something simple that cause overheating.

NB. I noticed that at the same time different users posted threads indicating that after updating he BIOS they have known overheating problems. If this is the cause of anywhere near it please help.

    Hello

    Just a question;
    The unit automatically shut?

If this is not the case then you cannot talk about overheating only because the temperature has risen to a higher level.
The temperature of the laptop up and down and it depends on the use of the laptop.
The cooling fans would go faster too if the temperature would be going upward.

It's not unusual and it s a common behavior of mobile.

As I said; the laptop would be down automatically stops if the temperature would be too high! If this isn't the case, then you should not be worried about the temperature.

    Welcome them
