the separations printing dot form

Hello everyone, I'm unable to find how to manipulate the form point via script when you print separations.

 docRef = app.activeDocument;

   sepOpts = new PrintColorSeparationOptions();

   jobOpts = new PrintJobOptions();

   opts = new PrintOptions();

   opts.colorSeparationOptions = sepOpts;

    opts.jobOptions =  jobOpts;

   sepOpts.inkList = docRef.inkList;

   sepOpts.colorSeparationMode = PrintColorSeparationMode.HOSTBASEDSEPARATION;

   alert(docRef.inkList[3].inkInfo.dotShape);  //blank

       sepOpts.inkList[3].inkInfo.dotShape = '[Ellipse]'; //blank
       sepOpts.inkList[3].inkInfo.angle = 30;
       sepOpts.inkList[3].inkInfo.frequency = 42;

  app.activeDocument.print( opts );

I can see by going to the print dialog box and tab out after running it, I change the frequency and angle. However, the dotShape is empty, so I'm not doing things. I couldn't find any examples, so here I am now haha. I tried tiny, with or without the brackets. If anyone knows how to do this, please let me know. Thank you all!

If I run your script it seems to work.

Ignoring what illustrator says, if you look at the ps as a text file, you will find that the adjustment worked.

I don't know if that's true, as I don't really understand what effect this has, but the value ends up in the ps file.

If I manually put the plate of the ellipse, and then consider the ps file created I get a strange string at the same place

so I created a table and joined him and the file out identical to the product manually (note: I used a diff... preset number)

docRef = app.activeDocument;

  sepOpts = new PrintColorSeparationOptions();

  jobOpts = new PrintJobOptions();

  opts = new PrintOptions();

  opts.colorSeparationOptions = sepOpts;

    opts.jobOptions =  jobOpts;

    opts.printPreset = 'Print Preset 2';

  opts.PPDName = 'AdobePDF';

  opts.printerName= 'Adobe PostScript File';

  sepOpts.inkList = docRef.inkList;

  sepOpts.colorSeparationMode = PrintColorSeparationMode.HOSTBASEDSEPARATION;

// alert(docRef.inkList[4].inkInfo.dotShape)

      sepOpts.inkList[4].inkInfo.dotShape = ['{abs exch abs 2 copy 3 mul exch 4 mul add 3 sub dup 0',
                                                                'lt { pop dup mul exch .75 div dup mul add 4 div 1 exch sub } { dup 1 gt{',
                                                                'pop 1 exch sub dup mul exch 1 exch sub .75 div dup mul add 4 div 1 sub }',
                                                                '{ .5 exch sub exch pop exch pop } ifelse  } ifelse } bind'].join('\n');
      sepOpts.inkList[4].inkInfo.angle = 30;
      sepOpts.inkList[4].inkInfo.frequency = 42;

  app.activeDocument.print( opts );

hope this helps

    Hello

    I think that you may not have color Inc. as printing from the PC using colors for printing in grayscale.

    Try to print a self-test and verify that all the colors appear:

    Click and hold Cancel, click on copy, then release both buttons, a Self Test page will print.

    Check the two black, Cyan, Magenta and yellow appear, otherwise, you will need to replace the color ink.

    As a workaroud, try to print using black ink only:

    Enter the control panel > printers and faxes.

    Right-click the printer icon, and then click Printing Preferences.

    Select the color tab.

    Check printing in grayscale

    Check use black ink only.

    Approve a dialogue window, and then try printing and check any change.

  • Epson print driver changes both margins to address for the envelope printing. Three other printers print the addresses of envelope with correct margins.

    I bought a new all-in-one Epson Wireless WF-3540.  So new Epson technical support people had one to test my problem.  I like it a lot because it has two trays cassette for 250 pages each, and a page break back.  For the love of the work I do in this description I use the back form feed on the Epson only.

    Suppose I have a business letter in Word 2007 using Windows XP Pro.  My default printer is a HP 932 C.  I click on Mailings, Create, envelope and print it.  The result is the number 10 envelope with the address of the left retour.3,.3 of the top and the address of destination 2 inches high and 5 inches from the left.  Exactly the way I want it.  A selection button.

    Suppose I have install the new Epson WF-3540.  I opened the business SAME letter in the same Word 2007 using Windows XP Pro.  This time around with the Epson WF-3540, I followed the same procedure for click mail merge, Create, envelope and print.  The result is an envelope of number 10 with the return address 1.5 inches from left to right top et.4.  The destination address is 3 inches from the left and the top 2.25.  The non-professional delivery address looks and interferes with the USPS standards.

    I worked on the problem for two days.  I was on the phone with Epson for a total of four hours.  Here are the various attempts to set this right using the Epson WF-3540.

    1. in the Ribbon to create open envelopes, click options, and set the margins for the return and destination addresses as I would like.  I always use the et.3 valeur.3 return address and the destination address in 5 and 2.  I put these values in the options, click OK.  Print the envelope, and it is printed as I've described above with Epson.  In looking at the options for envelopes that they were changed to Auto.

    2. I have a test with the help of the same letter of businesss, Word 2007 and Windows XP.  I set the default printer to the HP.  This time I select envelope, add to the document.  I see an image of the envelope, watching leaders aside, it looks I want.  I close Word 2007, without saving the changes.  I have change the default printer to the Epson, open Word, the same letter from the company and select the envelope in the document.  It seems to appear in the same strange settings how it prints.

    3. I tried to change the margins of the envelope in the document with Epson as default.  When I try to print it throws an error telling me that I am trying to print outside margins.

    What are the effects of the behavior of the default printer?  Why the change in the appearance of the envelope both printed and in the document when I change printers.  What does the print driver? has to do with the formatting?  The installation of the Epson gives something in the registry that control margins almost anything.

    Epson told me there is no problem, but they are ready to buy the printer back to me.  Remember that they don't even have one to test on.

    I tried adding some dummy printers, without the actual printer and using the drivers only.  For example, I added an Epson ActionLaser 1100.  When I set it by default and use the same letter sales and Word 2007, I click on the envelope and add it to the Document, the addresses on the envelopes are exactly where I wait until they are, using the ruler on the side.

    What is - this subject a new printer is to control this mess?  I'd love to keep him.  I do a lot of letters and need the rear feed and must be able to one click printing envelopes.

    I had the same problem with my Epson WF-3540. Came to this site looking for the answer after the Epson site doesn't seem to have an answer. After reading the posts, I went to the printer, and I gave it a try more. I found what seems to be a solution but not transparent, that it worked.

    I noticed that when I tried to print the envelope property printer box shows the paper letter size (8 1/2 x 11) and not an envelope (#10). I changed the setting as the skin #10 and checked manually minimize margins. I then used the button Add presets save this as # 10 envelope as a new preset. This allows to print the envelope in the current printing of the page with the ability to use almost the entire surface of the envelope. You then switch to printing standard predefined when you are finished.

  • Installation of the label printer.

    I know it sounds like a simple task. But ived tried 1 million different things. Ived contacted IT support in the hospital that I work in. And to make thins worse, it seems that we at the Denmark settle us with a solution that can easily cost us $ 100,000 per year, in the form of standard 10 x more ekspensive solution for each labels we print.
    All because we are not able to choose any label printer.

    So what is the problem?

    When we define a label in the printer driver, it seems that different environments are not able to read these formats.
    We use a program called "BioBank regionernes. Ived tested if excel is able to read the profiles of the label that are made in the pilot.
    He does not receive the rigth from the driver in excel or another format.

    However I can turn the printer of labels in the standard printer, and which seems to solve the problem of extracting the parameters defined by the pilot, in the external environment. But printing A4 format is seriously impaired when I do.
    Support IT says that it must change the "standard printer' whenever we chose to go the printer of labels to a regular printer or vice versa.

    Help, please. should be VERY simple. but it is a headache ived have more than a month now.

  • Need good resources to learn the separation of colors in Photoshop

    Can someone recommend a good resource to learn in detail the separation of colors in Photoshop.

    Specifically RGB to CMYK file conversion best practices.

    ojodegato wrote:

    Specifically RGB to CMYK file conversion best practices.

    With modern color management, it's much simpler than it used to be (and is usually much better, just check the colors of the 80s and 90s reproductions).

    It is not done by numbers more. You get the good CMYK profile for the actual process, test to verify the clipping and then convert them to the end. All the necessary settings are integrated into the profile and things like total ink limit and so on are more a matter of concern.

    The profile must be provided by the printer. Offset presses are usually standardized in Europe mainly in the ISO 12647-2 standard, elsewhere in the world, other standards apply. This means that you can often use standard CMYK profiles. But you should know that one.

    Hi Willies,

    Adobe Reader is a reader of PDF that can open and interact with all types of PDF content, including forms and multimedia. You can use Adobe Reader to print PDFS via the physical printer. You must install Adobe Acrobat in order to get the printer Adobe PDF installed on your computer.

  • Word format / style rules to improve the conversion of PDF forms

    I remember seeing in a help file guides for people who use Office to adhear to a few simple rules to help when converting to a PDF form.

    We have many check list in different bets on the page and by different people with often little or no training or understanding.  (Notepad is complicated for their understanding - but I digress).

    Thus, we have checklists / Questions etc. in Word tables or in a document, etc.

    There are no guides I can find it recommends no spicific formatting to improve the conversion of Word to PDF format.

    For example.

    Name: OR name: _______ OR name.    Name the name in a field and the next field empty or _ _ or (_ = Undersore)

    So inconsistent as to what is a field and what is NOT...

    Then, it is the common problem of the users using "Insert symbol" like a box (how I hate forms of words that are filled with this Jem)

    Is there a formatting guide 101, which could help to provide assistance to those who are often responsible for "make a form / check list" so that when these documents are then required to be converted into a form PDF; do not start from scratch.

    There must be a document that identified what looks like the PDF Converter in deciding whether or NOT it is a domain!

    OH...  And is there a setting that will allow these symbols of checkbox dredded be recognized as a checkbox form?

    Thanks in advance.

    Mark

    First of all, when you set up the form in WORD, make sure that the Adobe PDF printer is selected in the menu of the printer so that the provision complies when converting to PDF. That has long been a problem with WORD documents/forms that reflow based on the connected printer.

    Acrobat Search essentially everything that seems to be a standard form element (a line of underscores, box or circle) and create a field related to these items. If you leave space, easy to use form tools in Acrobat to create your own fields (or modify those that Acrobat has attempted to add). The key is therefore what would be a normal type of the input in a form field. I'm not sure that the spaces after the colon are recognized as such. I suggest you create a simple shape style in WORD and add a variety of aspects of different shape type to the document and try the conversion. The manual says really nothing more that I mentioned. There are a few tutorials on the creation of the form at Adobe.

    You might find these useful tutorials: http://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/filter/search&keywords=wizard&channel=tutorials&category = 8 & 86 & tut_type = video-OnDemand-graphics-HTML /. I didn't help much in the present, but they can be useful for you.

    This forum has been very useful as I climb the learning curve of the design interactive pdf. Thanks in advance.

    Several other positions of reading and looking around, it would appear that the addition of the function 'print' button must be done in Acrobat. I was able to do, but I wonder if someone found an elegant way to cut and paste the revised on several pages in the final PDF button. There is no option 'Paste in Place' and it becomes very tedious to do alignment specific buttons on every page.

    Thank you!

    Yes you can do it too: create the button with action print page:

    in the Panel forms/fields, right-click on the button (not the button on the screen) you have created, click on duplicate, then enter the pages you want to duplicate on and the button will be on all the pages you wanted in the exact position.
