The service start scripts found in 11, 1.2.2

Hello
I try to start the services but Release 11.1.2.2 configuration, and installation guide updated: may 2012 lists script which do exist not in:
EPM_ORACLE_INSTANCE/bin

1 startFoundationServices.sh to use startEPMServer.sh.

2 found no equivalent for: startRaFramework.sh, startEssbaseAdminServices.sh, startWebAnalysis.sh, or startPlanning.sh

Thank you for your support.

It is very likely that when you deployed your webapplications you them deployed on the EPMServer server in a compact deployment. What this does that deploy all applications on the same server to be managed under the same port, usually 9000.

When you run the startEPMserver script, it should be launched applications on port 9000.

Try to access one of the URLS via this port. (for example servername:9000 / HyperionPlanning servername:9000 / aps etc..) and let me know if you are able to see all the products.

I was referring to the snapshots of the OS itself, but I guess you checked now.

Do not forget that the case works so you should see logs for services that do not work. Learn about the \CSAuth\logs folder for logs CSAuth and other records for other services that do not work.

There is a located here very detailed troubleshooting guide:

    http://www.Cisco.com/c/en/us/TD/docs/net_mgmt/cisco_secure_access_contro...

This guide should help you solve the question if there is no other software on the server to cause trouble. One thing it says who can apply to you is to ensure that the Windows Firewall as connection sharing Internet is not ongoing.

Because I am familiar with your server, I think you should do the quick test below for if sure there are not taken, which may be crashing the authentication services that you mentioned. In the command line, type "netstat - ano | Findstr Listening-i"and see if or not he has taken open your ports Ganymede + and radius. He will probably return false, but it's worth a check.

Worst case scenario, you may be able to use CSUtil to back up the database (I'm fairly certain you can back up services that work), install the ACS on a new Windows 2003 server, and then restore. You can use CSUtil to many types of exports and operations as well.

If you manage to deal with the problem or not, you should speak with the person who is responsible for making backups of your servers and make sure that something like this was coming once again that you can have a quick fix during a maintenance window.

  • Firewall service starts intermittently during the startup.

    Hey all,.

I have been encountering a problem with the firewall service. It sometimes does not start when windows is started. Usually, this would not cause any problems, but it sets up and "Iron curtain" which will allow all incoming traffic (IE ping or VNC). I do a lot of business assistance level, so it starts to be a problem.
The service starts very well if you start from services, everything works fine. But it will stop working for a period of days. I checked the other forums and tried several different patches, but is unable to isolate why his turn at random, or not.
I increased the time to 2 minutes.
I checked the firewall auth., its fine driver.
I checked the "dependent" services, all are automatic and started.
I saw that other people have had this problem, but that nobody has a solid solution for it. I am run on a machine to point of sale posiflex, but have seen others with her on the valleys, etc..
I need to make sure that this will not be 'spread' when we deploy Win7 for several hundred other jobs in the company.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi Tom,

-Is your computer connected to a network of area?

-What security software is installed on the computer?

A firewall is software or hardware that checks information coming from the Internet or a network, then it blocks or allows it to pass through your computer, depending on your firewall settings. Even if you think that there is nothing on your computer that interests everyone, a worm could completely disable your computer, or someone could use your computer to help spread worms or viruses to other computers without your knowledge.

    Let us try these methods.

    Method 1.

You can run this Microsoft Fixit and check if that helps.

Diagnose and automatically fix problems of Windows Firewall service: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/windows_firewall_diagnostic/

See these articles for more information.

    Understanding Windows Firewall settings: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/understanding-windows-firewall-settings

    Method 2.

If you suspect a virus on the computer activity, and then run a full scan of the computer with the Microsoft Safety Scanner to make sure that the computer is virus-free.

    Microsoft safety scanner: http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: There could be a loss of data while performing an analysis using the Microsoft safety scanner to eliminate viruses as appropriate.

  • The unit 3.1 (3) change of password for the Service account

    Hi all

I am aware of the link and procedure on how to change the password of the service account of the unit 3.1 X here: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/products/sw/voicesw/ps2237/products_tech_note09186a0080093f54.shtml#topic2

My question is this. I have 5 unity servers that use this service account in any area, which includes Europe and the United States. If I change the password in AD all services will continue to work with the old password as long as they have not restarted with the old password? I know I need to change the password for each service that uses the account and then restart the unit, but since AD taking so long to reply, I was hoping to change the password of the account one day and then the next day or even longer when I have planned for my failure, I can then change the password for the services on each server and then restart the unit and make sure that replication is complete and the services start again with the new password.

I think as long as I do not have to restart services can I change the password of the service account in AD a day or two before I schedule my outage can I change the password for all services, and then restart the unit. I know that I can force replication, but it would be nice to be able to change it in advance as long as it is not flexible, whatever it is. Even force the replication takes a lot of time in our environment and I want to be sure, can I change well in advance without having a negative impact.

    Thanks for your time!

    Keith

If you change a password for a domain account, it should respond immediately through the Organization as AD treats this with the highest coastal.

    Hello

    1. what application or antivirus security suite is installed and your current subscription?

2 Norton (another) or a McAfee application ever installed on this machine?

    3. What are the fix applications that you used so far to try to fix this problem?

Try the next method and check if that helps you with the question of the 127 error you receive.

Method 1: Rdding the DLL file by doing the following:

    1. Click Start and click Run, in the search box type CMD and press to enter.
    2. right click on CMD in the list and click "Run as Administrator".
    3. type the following command and press ENTER. Regsvr32 msvcp71.dll
    4. close the command prompt window.

Method 2: run the file system (CFS) Checker:

(Note: you need an XP installation disk to start the System File Checker search.)

The SFC command is used to detect and resolve problems with the files on Windows XP and Windows Vista computers. This command allows you to launch the Windows File Protection Service and allows you to analyze all integrity-protected Windows files and replace all problematic files identified.

    1. click on start, and in the box to start, search type CMD
    2. right click on CMD in the list and click "Run as Administrator"
    3. type the following command and press ENTER. Sfc/scannow
    4. close the command prompt window.

For more information on scan SFC (System File Checker), please look in the link mentioned below.

  • Registering a dll file to start the service HID Input Device

    Hello

I would like to register the dll located in my System32 hidserv.dll. However, when you enter the command 'regsvr32 hidserv.dll' I have an error message indicating that: "hidserv.dll was loaded, but the DllRegisterServer entry point was not found. This file cannot be saved. "

How I then save it, knowing that I checked that this file is not corrupt?

I need to register this dll in order to start the "HID Input Device" who stubbornly refuses to start despite an integrity check in the registry.

The system event viewer specifies that:

"HID Input Service service terminated with the error:
Error 126: The specified module is not found. "

I already tried to extract hidserv.dll, mouclass.sys & mouhid.sys sp2 and sp3 even to put them in the C:\Windows\System32 directory, but I had no change.

The files I have place in my SYSTEM32 have the following version:
    Hidserv.dll: 5.1.2600.5512
    Mouclass.sys: 5.1.2600.5512
    mouhid.sys: 5.1.2600.0

but the service still does not start even after rebooting. The 126 error continues. Is there other files to extract / expansion?

I checked the integrity of all stakeholders key in the registry (for example, to have the "ServiceDll" key whose value is "% systemroot%\System32\hidserv.dll" in the settings of the service HIDserv ControlSets), but nothing more.

By analyzing the Observer newspaper of events more deeply, I could identify the date on which took place the first concern. The problem is dated, 18/08/2010 at 11:59:17 (it sticks with the conclusion of the first concern of losing control of my volume on my Logitech G110 keyboard also control buttons). I don't remember having a particular to this date on my system change, except perhaps a Windows Update automatically.
I could not try a system restore, knowing that the RP oldest I have is dated 20/08, so downstream of the original problem.

I ran a File Checker sfc/scannow system with my Windows XP Pro SP3 (current version of my system) installation cd. I've been thinking about it since a cd to install Windows XP Pro SP2, but better is worth twice more than once. I also realized a CheckDisk, but these two operations have not changed the problem.

You will find export of address following my diary of events on the system.

I have completed all of the tasks (start, replacement dll, see registry, SFC,...) while logged on sessions 'standard user', 'administrator' and even as a 'SYSTEM' (NT Authority), but in none of these configurations, it was possible for me to start this service. If I come to you, is precisely to avoid passing through a repair using the cd which would have made me lose a lot of time. I don't usually do the use of support services, in general the case has already been handled and the response or similar cases are on the web. But now I feel like in front of a technical impasse. I appeal to your specific skills to do what is necessary for good service restarting without using a remedy that eventually a reinstallation of the system.

It you want to check my configuration, you can find it here.
If you need more information, feel free to contact me. I would be happy to answer them.

Until then, thank you very much. Kind regards.

    Arnaud TIERANT.

First of all, the hidserv.dll is not a DLL that can be recorded.  You can try all day long, but it will not be because he is not on the list of DLLs that will be or must be registered.  There is a list, and which is not on it.  (well thought of).

Your problem is in the registry with the HidServ, section ServiceDLL parameter.

You have a space left in the key ServiceDLL.  In regedit, it should look like this:

    %SystemRoot%\System32\hidserv.dll

Yours probably looks like this in regedit:

    %SystemRoot%\System32\hidserv.dll

See the space left?  I don't know how it got that way (perhaps something that was installed for these humans), but I know that if I put a space in front of me and restart my system, HID service not start and give me an error 126 as you describe.  He has no idea about the problem in the log events.

With space on the left, the specified module really not found because there is no such thing as the path (with the space to the left).

Your registry export reveals this problem.

    Yours looks like this:

    It should look like this:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\HidServ\Parameters]
    "ServiceDll" =hex (2): 25, 00,53,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,00, 6 d, 00, 52, 00, 6f,

In your, you can see I have stuff in bold print on the front of the chain: 20.00...  In hexadecimal, is a space and a null value (null value is correct).  You must use regedit to get rid of this leading space (20 hex), and don't forget that, in the settings section, the first character of the value ServiceDLL is the % sign (which is a hexagon of 25).

You can, of course, just change the string, delete everything that is there, and retype the value if it looks like this without spaces attack/crawling:

    %SystemRoot%\System32\hidserv.dll

The HID Service will not start if you come to make the changes and try to start the service.  After making your changes, you need to restart, you can check it out, and then start the service HID.

Do not guess what the problem might be - understand and resolve it. I need YOUR voice and the points for helpful answers and propose responses. I'm saving for a pony!

How do you know if you are running a 32 bit / X 86 or 64-bit computer

    1. Click Start.

    2. Do right click my computer and then click Properties.

      • If you don't see "x 64 Edition" in the list, then you are running 32-bit Windows XP.

      • If "x 64 Edition" is listed under system, you are running the 64 bit version of Windows XP.

  • How can I get the error "Unable to start the service" on attempts to run administrative tools (including the Services application) when logged in as an administrator?

A large number of menu selections is affected, including the 'computer management', 'Event Viewer', 'Services' and 'System Configuration'.

I tried to clean a computer that was thus invaded by unwanted applications and the services that it was unusable.  I applied several sets of Windows updates until it has been fairly stable, then lightened through the Services application services, changing many services 'automatic' to 'enabled' or 'disabled '.  I suspect that some service necessary for the performance of the foregoing has been inadvertently stopped.  (None that he was '' strongly recommended '' or '' recommended '' do not turn off or the description seemed to make a requirement, but...)  I don't know how to confirm this theory, identify the missing service or reactivate a service without the Services application.

I got lucky.  I called a local, independent computer store.  Their support staff (after confirming that I had an appropriate Windows license) told me that if the computer came with a disk for Installation of Windows Vista, there is probably a partition to start installation on the hard disk, I could get to with a special touch at the beginning of the start-up phase of the BIOS.  It flashed by so quickly that I missed my chance, so I put off the power while trying to boot Windows.  On my next attempt, I missed again (even if I managed to spot the key combination - F11).  But when he arrived at the start-up phase of Windows, he offered me a chance to run the system restore which was banned when I was logged in with an administrator account.  I had to go back a ways, but I found one who would start and was able to complete cleaning of the machine and make it to a usable state.

    Thanks to all who responded.

Oh, and it seems (according to my conversation with the service of the local computer store) that my fatal mistake was by disabling the service allowing you to promote its own security.  Apparently an administrator account is not the rights needed to perform most administrative functions without it; If disabling the service gets you into a nearly unrecoverable state.  A hint of that in the description of the service, or even a total ban on deactivation, would be a good idea.
