  Hi all

  I just started to use excerpts, and I know how to create and edit code snippets.  I was hoping I'd be able to insert a snippet in a web page, and if later I edited this excerpt, I would be able to automatically update all previous inclusions of this modified version-specific extract.  (Similar to how Dreamweaver automatically updates changes to links, file names, etc. in the files Panel.) The automatic update of a previously included extract is possible?

  I tried to test whether a previously included snippet would be automatic update, but it did nothing (for example, I added an excerpt I created a web page and then edited the snippet, and nothing happened to the previously included code snippet).  I don't know if I'm missing something, or if there is an option of preference miss me.  I am interested in this feature, since I use a lot of PHP includes in my pages (for example, <? php include ($_SERVER ['DOCUMENT_ROOT']. sample/file/location/example.php');? >).  I might want to change the name of the file or the directory/location in the future, and it would be a go manually pain and all these PHP includes the change.

  I also might want to auto update other types of code Snippets (other than a PHP include), so that the ability to auto update an extract previously included in general would be ideal.

  If I can't get excerpts from automatic update, then I guess the only thing I can do is perform a "find and replace" throughout the pages... is that correct?

  Extracts are one-way. They introduce a piece of code, and that's all. DW then processes this code as a piece of text. It is not bound or editable.

  What you are looking for is library items. They are related and be updated within DW. Unlike excerpts, they are segments of logical code with a beginning and an end.

  Even better would be to avoid these features DW completely and insert your code as PHP includes (also called inclusions on the server side). They are much more powerful. With DW templates and library items, you change the code, save it, let the DW to update segments of code on all pages. You must download separately and then edited all pages on the server.   Thank you very much for this information.  So basically the feature to 'Allow Adobe to update Flash Player' does not work in all changes of the version.  I find it incredibly misleading.  Rather that engage in a cumbersome process to allow each year the opportunity to distribute flash and then create group policies to deploy, and then test the results to have these policies in place when flash tries to update itself, pay attention to the current versions of flash in order to deploy new .msi files and update our policies...

  I think I'll just remove the flash of all our systems.  It is clear that after installing flash is a continuous security risk and it is regrettable that we cannot rely on Adobe to help keep their own software update in a simple and effective way.  It's amazing to me that Google can do a better job of keeping flash updated in their browser at adobe.

  I am at a loss to know what to do.

  Recently, I downloaded Microsoft Office Home & Student 2007, which seems to be very well. The problem is the automatic updates do not work. After searching online, I did the start > run > Winver and he says I have Service Pack 3. Then I went to control panel in Add/Remove Programs, and even if it is listed, there is no indication that it is actually installed.

  I remember a year or there are problems with SP3, when I tried to upgrade to IE8 so "I THINK" I removed it. Probably shouldn't have done that!  But IE8 has worked fine once I removed it. Microsoft says that we will no longer receive automatic updates to SP2 in June and so we have to upgrade to SP3.  Well, I just don't know what I have on my computer at this point!

  Anyway, now I get these failed messages on the updates for the Office:

  Update for Microsoft Office System 2007 (KB967642)
  Update of security for Microsoft Office System 2007 (KB951944)
  Update of security for Microsoft Office 2007 (KB951550)

  So I thought I'd download the SP2.  But I did not know if Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2 actually means I have SP2 installed or not.  And I got in such a mess last year I don't want to take any chances again.

  I found more information. Looking in my history of update for automatic updates, all 4 of these updates failed have the same error Code which is: 0 x 80070663.  I don't know if this info helps solve this problem or not, but that's it.
