• T400 suddenly won't boot beyond the ThinkPad splash screen

  .. .only visible indicator of a problem is that the drive activity light on the bottom of the screen stops ignition etc when the ThinkPad splash screen appears. No bumps in the system, no unusual activity to suggest physical damage to computer laptop or disk - started very well in the morning on the desk, would not restart from the same location on the office after lunch. System also won't start on a bootable system disk (but you can hear the drive access). System is less than one year.

  I solved my problem: Lenovo Service Center for repair under warranty here a diagnosis nor a bad mother and a bad battery, due to abuse of the handling, etc. the computer could suffer (it seemed to be a factory default). No indication as to whether one or the other 'bad' component caused the other to fail. in total 48 hrs to repair, most of the waiting time for a new motherboard coming in the night. No charge to me for what it is. Life goes on.

  Was about to order the compressed X 220 today when I noticed that the ThinkPad protection did not appear on the order form. According to a spokesman, 3 yr place + PPT is $429. This comes out to $333,41 for the PPT and 95.59 for the on-site.

  Does make sense to pay that much? The cost of 3 yr onsite + PPT on other systems is much lower. It's only $259.00 (not compressed) X 220, W520 and T420s. Why is the X 220 Tablet PPT much higher? They only break a lot more often?

  I called for Lenovo to buy this warranty and the product that the Bill rep me for was 78Y1652. Since then, I spoke with several people (mainly because Lenovo succeeds in trashing them arrested in all possible ways) and none of them have nothing against attatching said that point (which is 3 years on site + PPT) to my laptop, 4294-CTO.

  Bought 57Y4488 which are earphones thinkPad.

  When it is plugged into a socket of headset ThinkPad Edge that the microphone does not work.

  Works very well if connected to a ThinkPad SL410.

  Tried with two different sets of ThinkPad earphones and two of the various ThinkPad Edge laptops. Unfortunately, I bought my headphones over a month so there cannot send their return.

  I was able to make them work if I plug it into a logitech usb connector.

  I don't know if the problem is the conector on the earphones or headphones on the ThinkPad Edge connector.

  Just worked on it. It's a windows 7 setting. By default it does not seem to support taking combo until its installation in windows through advanced audio setting.

  Usually, the recovery CD formats the whole HARD drive (partitions too) and installs only the image of Toshiba on the notebooks of HARD drive. The image contains the OS, drivers and additional software and has nothing to do with the BIOS update.
  But you can try to recover the laptop to see if you can solve the problems of software!

  If you want to reverse the BIOS, you will need to contact the ASP in your country!

  Flashing the laptop computer with a BIOS that is not designed to be used with a specific motherboard shouldn't work.  Even if this does not work, I do not recommend this update because it would be very likely to cause other problems.

  I bought my Thinkpad around time of December-January, and since there has been some recurring problems.

  On the one hand, with the keyboard, sometimes some of the keys stick: say I'm going to hold the S key and then release, sometimes it keeps acting as if he is still in detention.   I am some problems on a ThinkPad P70 with Windows 7 Professional and have met a strange.

  When the connection from the computer to the power or unplug, sometimes the CD tray ejects on its own. It happens not every time, but it is somewhat common.

  I have run the Lenovo update to get the latest drivers, not to not correct the problem.

  No update of the BIOS was detected by the tool of Lenovo.

  I also tried to remove the drivers, and uninstall the drive through Device Manager, but the problem persists after restarting.

  I couldn't find anything relevant in my research online yet, but I'm still digging.

  If anyone has any suggestions on things to try/look, it would be much appreciated! Thank you!

  Can someone please suggest me what to do to solve this?

  I got the W530 for two years and there is a problem when you turn on the laptop. I have no guaranteed contact Lenovo yet.

  When I press the power button, often it shows white Thinkpad logo on a black background and does not load. Windows at all. It just stuck there.

  I have restore the system, but the problem is still there.

  Oddly enough, when it works (which is rare), the 'to interrupt normal startup, press enter' will appear. Every time it works, this expression would appear.
