The upgrade card NIC to onboard LAN, Windows 7

Hello everyone. Have a basic question for the upgrade of the Ethernet card or the card NETWORK on my Compaq Presario under W7 Home Premium. Initially, this machine ran Vista. I installed a PCI 3Com NIC {3Com EtherLink 10/100 PCI TX NIC (3C905B-TX)}. Windows Update find the required driver. When this was done I disabled the on-board LAN, this automatically disabled the LAN Boot ROM edge It is advised to disable the onboard LAN or the computer will work without problems with the LAN on board and 3COM PCI card as both enabled. I would appreciate your comments.

Thank you for your help,

Oscar Mint

  • Satellite M45-S169 - overheating and the upgrade card RAM/graphics

    Hello

I have need some answers and solace to the questions I have on my laptop. Here are the following questions:

Laptop overheating fast enough, hereby, I mean in about 10 minutes, the laptop Burns upward. It is the model or is there something wrong with it? I can't keep the laptop without maintaining that it plugged into the wall at all times. That this has something to do with my battery like that I need a new?

I am able to install the new RAM * (2 GB Max) and if yes, someone knows how it slots are for this model? (Not really opened to check because I'm bad to put things together after taking them apart)

I am able to install a new graphics card for the laptop or I'm stuck with ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 M Series? (and if it is not too much to ask, is the graphics card, I have good, bad, or so - so)

Sorry if there are too many questions, but it would be really nice if I get the answers to all these.

    Hi Honu_2,

(1.) you should clean your laptop using a jet of compressed air. This could blow out the dust from the cooling fans and read this article please:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/Ann.jspa?annID=40

2.) Yes, it seems that you need a new battery if your laptop only works with AC/DC adapter connected.

3.), you should check your owner's manual. As far as I know this model supports up to 2 GB of RAM. This means that you can install 1 GB into the two slots.

(4.) the graphics card upgrade is not possible because it s/set soldered on the motherboard and your laptop is designed only for the preinstalled graphics card.

By the way: these questions are already answered here. Check out the forum for similar topics, you will find many interesting things! ;)

  • Mini Mac; Windows can be installed on the SDXC card to start and run windows

I was wondering if I could install Windows 10 to the SDXC card slot and run the card SDXC of Windows?   I rarely use Windows and I would ' t need you worry too much space Mac.  I thought I could unplug the unit out of the machine most of the time, leaving the slot for use with other storage devices so that I do not use Windows.     My HARD drive is full & I thought it would be nice to have a Windows machine that would not take more space on my HARD drive.

No, but you can try cloning once installed on the internal drive.

    Dear support team / community,

I have an old HP Pavilion 780 Office (HP Pavilion 04 P6418A-ABU 780) with an XP operating system. I want to upgrade to windows 7 if possible, running Windows 7 upgrade advisor - the report mentions that the graphics card is not compatible.

The motherboard is an ASUS P4B266LA

The chipset is Intel 845D/MP (Brookdale) + ICH2

    Graphics card is a NVIDIA GeForce2 MX400

Processor is an Intel Pentium 4-2600 (2.60 GHz 1.29 GHz, 2.00 GB of RAM)

    Serial number (personal information)

Any suggestions on a compatible graphics card that will run Windows 7?

    Kind regards Brian

    Hello:

I would check eBay for a video card used, but tested and functional nVidia GeForce 6200 128 MB AGP, or ATI Radeon 9600 128 MB AGP card.

The plug from motherboard for this model indicates he has an AGP video card slot.

  • The upgrade of equipment and installation of windows on Equium M40X

    Hi guys,.

I bought a M40X-189 in 2005, which came with win XP Home Edition on a toshiba CD.

I don't know if this is common worldwide or for different models; but my installation CD verifies only that it is in the computer on which it was purchased with and then coppies an image disk pre-installed and pre-activated windows XP on the computer. I love what it means I don't have to use the serial key and I am not limited to 3 activations on my serial key.

The only complaint is that when I needed a CD of windows for fixing the computer (starting in recovery mode), this CD did not work and I had to download a pirated copy of XP home (I only it used once to start in recovery mode, and I never installed windows, so I hope that's ok).

Anyway, the computer comes with a Hitachi HTS541060G9AT00 hard drive (60 GB, ATA - 6, 5400 RPM, 8 MB cache, 12ms search) and I wanted to upgrate to a 250 GB western digital drive with the same cache, research, interface and rpm.

I was wondering will the CD still be able to install windows or he thinks that it is not the computer, it came with and therefore not let me install?

    Hello

If you want to install Windows XP using not the recovery disc, then you will have to enter the serial on the right key.
If you don t have a serial key on the right then you will not be able to complete the installation of the OS.

With regard to upgrading the HARD drive:
I know you can use a 120 GB 2.5 IDE HDD for sure, but I don't very well if the 250 GB would be recognized due to the LBA 24 bit m.

I recommend you to choose a 120 GB HARD drive

  • HP pavilion slimline 400: a problem about the upgrade card chart, power, and a new case

I have a hp pavilion slimline 400 and I want to upgrade the graphics card of it. However, the food is not enough for my new graphics card. The image is too large for this case. SO I decide to buy a new case and PS! Move all the thing inside the hp pavilion slimline 400 to a new case. But I heard someone say that this kind of PC can match the case that we can buy in the store and the cable of the PIN from those of food on the market do not correspond with the motherboard. CAN I really do that?

You will still need a case that supports the Μatx layout.  I/O back plate must be modded or replaced to adapt.  Most cases have both Μatx and ATX layout (dead end of pines).  For some time that this question of stitching was done.  These help?

  • Impossible to activate Windows after the upgrade card motherboard and CPU.

replacing a motherboard with windows xp

I have an OEM of Windows XP version on my computer. I'm updating the card CPU and mother. To run when I try to start Windows he wants me to activate. I tried to use the code activation and as expected, it failed. I called Microsoft and the best answer they had was to go to this forum. If you stand long enough on the automatic activation system a person live lights?

Can say you a thing OEM = Original Equipment Manufacturer., short IN the license is related to a material of machines.  When you change hardware OEM license will not work.

So I'm wanting to upgrade my computer and I can't find a clear answer, if when I install a new one, a motherboard and CPU, but with the same RAM and the hard drive and the motherboard did not fail, I need a new installation of windows?

    Fatah

If vista came preinatalled your computer, it is rated an oem license as such is related to the material that it is initially installed on

If you have a retail license, you can upgrade your card motherboard and CPU

you will probably have to reinstall vista while the hard drive with the existing vista installation contains the drivers for the old motherboard and probably do not start correctly

I just bought HP Pavilion 500-141ea desktop.

    Product no: D7D 35EA

    AMD A8b6500 processor

My question is can I upgrade the processor with AMD A10 6800 K, or Athlon ii x 4 760 k.

What is the best graphics card I can install on this motherboard, than as a Radion HD 8470 right now, could I use Sapphire Radion R7 260 x 2 GB GDDR5, and I will modernize the power unit? If so how much power.

Hope you can help and have a great year.

    Here are the specs of your HP Pavilion 500 - 141ea Desktop Computer. based on the specifications, this model supports the processors/following AMD APU;

Dual Core AMD Sempron 240 (Trinity) up to 65 W

    Dual Core AMD A6 - 5400K (Trinity) up to 65 W

A10 AMD 6800K (Richland) Quad Core up to 100 W

Many AMD Radeon R7 260 X cards must be inserted in your computer, but you will need to measure along the plane of the PCIe x 16 for obstructions location. Most AMD Radeon R7 260 X graphics cards require a minimum of 500 watts power. Yes, you will need to upgrade the PSU. I suggest to consider the Corsair CX500, CX600, CX500M, or CX600M. The CX600 series will offer an extra margin for future updates. The CX600M is a modular, cable management and allowing a better air flow.

  • Pavilion 15-ab043sa: cannot reset to factory settings after the upgrade computer laptop brand new 10 Windows

I bought 2 new laptops, they seem to be special models not listed is not in the HP support site, purchased from Currys PC World in the United Kingdom.

First HP Pavilion 15-ab045sa laptop computer 15.6 "-red, upgraded to windows 10 perfectly well and I made a backup of the system while I studied the creation of recovery media (this info must be printed with the laptop in the box, rather than letting the user have to find BTW)."

The other a HP Pavilion 15-ab043sa laptop computer 15.6 "-blue, for my parents, has turned into a total disaster."

The two models are the same, except that the first is red and the other is blue, that's why they have different product numbers?

I was now in a position where the recovery on the D: drive partition is not a factory reset.

I did not even recovery disks as having the first one to go smoothly, I thought the same thing would happen on the second laptop and I got the recovery disc then.   I tried to create a USB stick recovery, but I had no one who can save the system settings - need at least 32 GB free.

This occurred as first I started the laptop, made of windows, MS Office 365 updates, added then waiting 2 days for windows 10 to arrive.  When it came it installed fine and then I added a printer driver for an HP printer and made some configurations of the operating system.  At the next reboot showed something was wrong as the boot took over 7 minutes.  As the synaptics app was referenced twice in the tab start Task Manager also had strange things in the system.  Rather than go back to a previous system restore point that I attempted to identify what was wrong and uninstalled all without success.  I then had the opportunity to go back to 8.1 for Windows or "reset the PC.  Not a lot of explanation on delivery to zero and certainly no warning options that the D: partition was no longer valid.  Windows options were "in my face" so I don't think watching HP recovery.  So I chose to run from Control Panel 'Reset the PC and keep the files'.  So, indeed, I now have a clean install of Windows 10 but have lost all applications that were on the factory orginal building.  I see no way to re - install all of these programs and find the license keys.  I have more HP recovery at all.

So I have no way to put the blue doesn't return to the factory settings.

Advice please, I want a laptop blue, the same as the red, i.e. Windows 10 with all applications that have come to the factory as well as the correct printer drivers and a time of less than 30 seconds of starting.

You are not sure if there is anything I can copy from red to blue to get it going again?

Any help gratefully appreciated, thank you
