The upgrade to vSphere clean install of P2Ving old Vcenter
I searched the Forum, and I have not found any discussion on this topic... again.
I'm not so sure that this discussion should be in this forum or a forum for Vmware converter... But I would like to put these questions to you in any case.
Scenario:
We're on ESX 3.5u3 now, with 22 guests and 1 server (physical) vCenter. We have chosen the Installer Clean way for infrastructure. As well as create the new vCenter as a virtual machine on a stand-alone host ESXi 4 server.
Because we are running out of material, we will follow this course of action.
1 P2V current vCenter Server on a virtual machine, so that we can still vCenter features during the upgrade/rebuild process
2 rebuild the old Server vCenter as a host ESXi 4.
3. building the new vCenter Server 4 as a virtual machine with Win2k8R2 etc etc and create a new database as well
4. then rebuild each of our ESX 3.5u3 hosts 2 both as 4u1 ESX or any update is the most recent.
5. once all hosts are reconstructed as ESX 4 we will then turn off the old server vCenter 2.5 VM and reactors as well as the old database.
5. then, of course, we will convert VM material on each guest one by one.
That's what I understand as a fairly straightforward environmental own reconstruction.
The questions I have are pretty simple, but I want to get as much input as possible:
1 will be the Server P2V process freak out vCenter vCenter when we reboot as a virtual machine?
2. can I use Vmware on the server vCenter converter to convert to a virtual machine and is not a problem when restarting a virtual machine?
Your comments are much appreciated.
Thank you
Yes... just point vconverter of an ESX Server, provide the root password /, choose data store and go.

I try to use the Microsoft Office tool that implement an MSI for 64-bit Office 2010 installation file. The tool works file and creates the msi file. I get to the tool by going to the x 64-bit folder on the office 2010 installation disc.
I install a new virtual machine from Windows 7 and tried to use the MSI file to install office 2010 and I get the error:
"The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded is may be missing or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program"
If I just click Setup on the office 2010 dvd he moved very well on the same VM window7.
Does anyone have an idea how do to understand why the windows installer keep fails or what he wants?
If I click on the msi even on a system with office 2007 is installed, I get the same error.
Thanks for the help

Original title: cannot install WMP11, update rollup 2
I'm still on WMP 10 for a reason, and I wanted to connect my PC with 360 videos. I downloaded the update, but he told me to go get the Update Rollup 2 or something, so I tried to install it and he told me that I needed to go get the .NET framework 1.1 and .NET framework 1.1 SP1. I went to download them and install them, but he tells me that "the upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded is may be missing or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program".
I Googled, tried of all kinds, uninstalled SP3 and tried and nothing.
Hi xelliotx,I suggest that you follow these steps.Step 1:First of all, download and install .net Framework Cleanup Tool to remove selected versions of the .NET Framework on your computer.Step 2:Manually install the versions of Microsoft .NET Framework below:Microsoft .NET Framework Version 1.1 redistributable package

http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=a8f5654f-088e-40b2-bbdb-a83353618b38&displaylang=enOnce this installation is complete, try to install the other required software and check.See also:Error message when you install an update for .NET Framework 1.1 or the .NET Framework 1.0: "the upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service.

When I install visualfoxpro7.0 then the error "the upgrade patch cannot be installed by the windows service install because the program to be upgraded is may be missing, or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program." Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch. »
Please solve itHi BL,
The question you posted would be better suited in the Forums of Visual FoxPro. I would recommend posting your query in the Forums of Visual FoxPro.

The upgrade to vSphere + SQL Express to SQL 2005 + new vCenter Server
Hello world
It's the scénarion that I have today:
A node just two HA/DRS cluster with vCenter 2.5 update 4 and two esx 3.5 update 4.
The environment has increased enough to move from SQL Express to SQL 2005 standard. In the process, I want to upgrade the environment to vSphere and the vCenter move another box.
I'm quite familiar with the process of vSphere upgrade but I donít know how to move the vCenter to another machine AND I do not know how to go from Express to the standard version of SQL in the process. (I have a SQL machine ready for use)
I do not know how to handle all the changes here, I thought it would be nice to all move to the new machine and DB so that I could continue with the upgrade to vSphere, if this has meaning or not, I'm waiting for your ideas.
I hope someone will give me some guidance on moving from SQL Express to SQL and how to move vCenter to another server (of course with a different server name and IP address)
Thanks in advance for your support.
I just did something very similar a few Sundays ago and it was really easy. Refer to the section of the Upgrade Guide that talks about upgrading to vCenter on another Machine... (starts at p. 49). We went from SQL 2003 32 bits on 32-bit Windows 2003 to SQL 2005 64-bit on Windows 2008 R2 64-bit. Both are running as VMs - vCenter 2.5 is still there only as a license server - until I get all my hosts upgraded.

Hello world! I hope someone can help.
Can I use my Windows 7 Edition recovery disks Home Premium for a clean install on my old Windows XP computer?
If this is a recovery from a different computer disk, you are unable to do so.
In addition, if you were to format the computer, you will need to have a way to reinstall a copy of Windows with a genuine license.
The best option if you need Windows 7 Home Premium is to buy a genuine license then you can make a custom (new installation).
Where can I still get Windows 7?

Satellite P500 - 01 G-install the Toshiba software after clean install
Hi all
I have a Toshiba P500 - 01 G (http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/products/computers/satellite/p500/pspgsa-01g003/overview) running the grouped Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I bought an upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate, but can not use it, he just tells me to use Windows Anytime Upgrade.
However, I can use it for a clean install and I intend, but I don't know what to do on the Toshiba Software (http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/support/computers/satellite/p500/pspgsa-01g003/download?os=25).
I read on another thread that the software must be installed in a certain order and frankly I have no idea! I don't want to break something! I'm not to ask for the list accurate for each of them (except if you have time) but just a general guide as to what I should install in the order. Also, I guess that my recovery partition is erased in the process and I can't get it back. Is this true?
Thank you very much. I really appreciate it,
Abraham.Hello, Abraham
I m the Satellite P500 owner too and it's really great machine, isn t it? I like it. My Toshiba best ever.
My machine is preinstalled original Toshiba recovery image and it works without any problems so I put t want to change anything.Back to your question. I assume that you have a few reasons why you want to use the Ultimate version then you should try to clean OS install. Before you anything create recovery DVDs. Make two copies.
After that make what you can do with your laptop all you used to because if you want to have the factory settings, again you can use created the recovery disc and install original recovery image.
After recovery of registered OS image will help and you will not be able to start the installation of HARD drive recovery then please create restore DVD.Installing Win7? I have the European model, and I will send exact installation order list. There may be small differences compared to the model of the AU, but the principle remains the same.

Activation of Windows 7 Upgrade Version after clean installing forced
While the reconstruction of my computer, the hard disk on which Windows Vista was installed has failed and I was forced to do a clean install of Windows 7. I was in the process of upgrading to Windows 7 at the time, but I've owned a copy of Windows 7 upgrade and now the software doesn't recognize my product key for a clean install. Is there anyway that I can use my Windows Vista and Windows 7 product keys to activate my operating system?
Skip entering your product key Windows 7 and complete the installation.
When you reach the desktop, click Start, right-click on computer
Click on properties
Scroll down to the Windows Activation
Click the link x days before activation.
Click on the link that says: "show me other ways to activate.
Enter the product key
Click next
Select the Activation of the phone
Click Next when you enter your key page
Select your country
Click Next, call the number listed
Be sure to explain your situation to the Appeals Officer.
Provide the installation generated when ID requested by the call agent
They give a confirmation ID in return, enter it
Click next to complete the activation.
However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.
15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.
So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.

Activate the upgrade of windows 8 installed the new SSD
Yesterday, I received a new SSD and I wanted to replace my current SSD. I knew it was not going to be easy to do this, I think that MS hates me :-(.
In any case, I have a 8 win upgrade key. So what I did is first install win 7 on my new SSD but the problem was, I couldn't activate win 7. The message was that this key was already in use (which could be true because my current SSD has been improved for this key).
So I continued and installed win 8 hollow upgrade its Web site. Finally, when I try to activate I get this lovely error "0xc004c003 the activation server determined that the specified product key is blocked. I googled and the result was MS hates you. Now, I am very sad and don't know what I just loved and hated not being. I tried phone activation and other tips of register of google, but it wouldn't help.
If I plug my old SSD I can see that windows 8 is enabled and works but I don't know how to get a clean install on my new SSD.
Please stop hating me :'-(
Try the phone activation:
1. press the Windows key + X , and then clickrun, and then type: slui.exe 4
2. then press the ENTER"" key.
3. Select your "country" in the list.
4. choose the option "activate phone".
5. stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.
6. explain your problem clearly to the support person.

Yesterday I did a clean install of Windows 10 on my PC with a backup of the hard disk external. I downloaded iTunes, but get an error message that the drive is locked, the .itl files are locked, or I don't have administrative rights to these files. I deleted and reinstalled the PCI DSS several times correctly in the PCI slot hoping that would be a solution, but to no avail. I am the only user on this computer and do not have administrative rights. Any help you can offer will be appreciated. Thank you

Re-use the serial number after clean install?
I am currently using the Adobe Design Standard Student Edition.
I was wondering what happens when I do a clean install.
I'll be able to reuse my old serial number to continue using the product?
Although it may depend on where you acquired the software (as a student - due to potentially different agreements between the school license and Adobe), normally you can reuse your serial number required when install you / reinstall. However, you are allowed to have two facilities activated at any given time, so you must manage activations by disabling before you throw/wipe facility. Disabling is done by opening one of the programs and by selecting help-> Deactivate.
If you find that you've exhausted your activations and you can't turn off then you can contact Adobe technical support via chat and ask them to reset your activations. To the link below, click on the still need help? the option in the blue box below and choose the option to chat...
