The Win7 installation select a driver

I'm trying to install windows 7 on a computer before xp support xp runs out.

So I stuck to a screen asking for a driver, one who does not.

I read online that it is usually a sata driver.

So I carefully comb through the site of intel for the sata drivers.

He never advances past this screen, just what an error pops up that says device not found.

How can I overcome this and install windows 7?

Yay, the usb flash drive came in the mail today and works easily.  I guess that's too ask microsoft to have a working drive install the way it is supposed to, but whatever it worked.

Oh also you microsoft dvd download tool refused to recognize my USB key, so I made it bootable with the bootsect command and it worked.

What a relief, thanks for trying to help, problem solved!

  • 4540 proBook s: help to the New Installation of hard drive recovery

I had a bad hard drive crash. I installed a new and got the bios to boot from the cd drive, with windows 7

orginal cd of installation in the drive.  He acknowledged drive 0, I clicked again in the options. He created a system partition.

Installed windows 7 apparently very well. Inserted the recovery driver and application and installed disk. Everything seemed fine. This morning I turned it on and it the hard drive error (3F0) Please install an operating system. I shut it down and restarted, it seemed normal.  I installed a few programs, stop it again. Returned by, it starts again and it took me to screen diagnosis saying SMART Check - not installed and short DST - not installed...  Can someone tell me how to remove that partition and I can format the drive in a usb sata enclosure and try again.

Please tell me the correct procedure to return this laptop running to a factory State. I have the original Windows7 and Windows8, Driver and Application for the two OS disks ' are...  I want to stay with the installation Windows7.

Thanks for any help on this problem. I have no idea where I was wrong!

It is not impossible that the new disk is bad, have seen before. It is also possible that the controller sata on the motherboard is bad, but I'd watch this last possibility. You can get an Exchange on the new hard drive?

    Try the following.

Method 1: Go through the Add/Remove Programs list and see if market research is listed in the list of installed applications. If so, uninstall it and see if that solves your printing problem.

    Hello

Anyone faced similar experiences and how come me on that?

    Appreciate any assistance.

    Welcome to the community,

I guess that you have selected the 'Easy Install' function when creating the virtual machine. This sometimes causes questions of 'language '. To resolve this problem, run the installation without using Easy Install.

  • Qosmio F60 - new SSD now will not appear in the BIOS or at the Win7 Installation

I recently bought a new OCZ Vertex 4 128 GB Solid State Drive to upgrade my PC laptop Toshiba Qosmio F60 with.

After that I installed it first of all, it has been detected immediately in both the bios and during the installation of Windows 7. However, for some reason any approximately 40% of the way through installation, the computer restarts and the drive has disappeared since the BIOS all together and now, after several reboots it does not always detect!

Note that I already have the latest version of the BIOS installed on my laptop V2.70

I'm not sure what I would do here and any help would be appreciated?

Can you please set BIOS to default settings and check if the SSD is recognized in the BIOS again?
    > Please note that I already have the latest version of the BIOS installed on my laptop V2.70
In my opinion it is not relevant at all.

  • Qosmio X 875-installation of the Win7 graphics driver

    I recently bought a TOSHIBA Qosmio X 875 - Q7380 with Windows 8. I went down to Windows 7 64 bit OS.
Everything is fine except for the graphics drivers. When I try to install the driver NVIDIA (GeForce GTX 670 M) it says that I need to install the Intel driver first.

So I find and attempt to install the Intel graphics driver and it says that my computer does not meet the minimum requirements for this software.
    What Miss me?

How did the laptop changes between the use of the cards? I can't find anything in the Bios. I'm not able to install the graphics card intel because it is disabled for the NVIDIA card?

How can I get the graphics driver intel installed so I can install the NVIDIA driver?

Have you tried the Intel® HD Graphics 4000 driver?
This is the driver that should work:
    http://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?lang=eng & changeLang = true & dId = 22376 DWNL

    The zipped package.
You must decompress this first. Then you might want to update the driver through Device Manager by pointing to the folder of the driver that you have unpacked above.

and there is no possibility to switch between graphics cards.

  • j6410 over wifi is detected but not settled it on Win7 with the new installation of OJJ6400_Full_13.exe

    Dear all,

I try to install my printer all in one HP Officejet J6410 (connected to an access point) wireless to my HP Pavilion dv5-1155eg laptop running Windows 7 Professional (ENG). I am trying to install using the new "HP Officejet Full Feature Software and Driver" (OJJ6400_Full_13.exe) for the specified printer. ""

The rest of the HP software installation succeeded it. I am able to see the web interface of the printer from my browser. In the past, before the release of this new driver I could even print wirelessly, using the base driver provided by Win7.

What fails is the installation of the printer itself:

I use the software to 'Add a device' the HP that successfully locates my printer wireless in the screen "found network printers." I selects the printer, press 'Next', Network Diagnostics seems to run ok and then start the installation of the printer, it is firstly says 'printer detected... ". "but she eventually fails with the message:" printer setup is not complete - click Retry to try install again... blah blah. "

To make richer information, I use a firewall of G Data Internet Security 2010 that I followed him and I can see that it is not blocking anything. I even tried installing with the firewall disabled, anyway...

In addition, I tested my printer with HP Network Diagnostic Utility. The utility comes with all the information correctly (network configuration, configuration of the computer, HP printer running services, found wireless).

Any help is appreciated to make it work because it's a major drawback, as you can understand...

    Thank you in advance...

Thanks for the reply, but that was not the solution... As I mentioned earlier, I had tried in the first place without the firewall installation.

But, I found a good solution to the problem, and because it might be useful to others I write it here:

After the movie with the help of HP without success, I managed to find a workaround for the problem:

    1. I uninstalled everyhting about printer software/drivers & restarted windows.
    2. I installed the begin shape everything (the file I downloaded on the site of HP), using the USB option this time and not a wireless.
    3. RESTART WINDOWS (sucks bigtime - respect for unix/linux "reboot is for material changes!")
    4. After you have installed successfully with the USB cable, I chose the option 'Configure wireless settings' Installer extracted files resulting from the file I downloaded frrm the HP site (if after installation, the installer window is closed you will need to locate the extracted in your Temp folder files or just run the file again..). Just follow the instructions of the installer.
    5. This should make the thing! REBOOT (again) and you're ready to go!
    6. (OPTIONAL) For me, the installer actually worked at the last moment, where he stuck permanently. But that was ok, because it's stuck after you set up the printer and corresponding software. After some time, the installer came out with the usual submit an evaluation form. Just ignore it, reboot and everyhting should work. At least it did for me...

  • Bookmarks to Safari from backup to the New Installation drive

Failing HARD drive. Fortunately just copied HDD external HDD before the failure. New Safari installation on the new HARD drive. How to make bookmarks and favorites of the old disk backup on external drive for the new Safari installation on the new HARD drive?

How do you have copied the data externally? You want to backup the folder User/Library/Safari, but how to get that depends on how you copied. If it's a Time Machine backup, go to Finder and select your user folder. With this Finder window as the windshield, select Finder/display/display options for presenting or order - J.  When the display options opens, check "show the library folder. This should make your visible user library folder in your user folder.  Select library/Safari. Enter Time Machine and restore this file.

If the outside is bootable, boot off of it, do what above, and then copy the folder to the library user to internal drives.

  • Because I bought a full version of 7, I buy a license and install the win7 os or I have to buy another drive for an upgrade to another machine?

    WinXP Win7 upgrade options

I had a HP machine with xp that has failed. Bought a full blown and installed on a new PC win7 os. I still have another machine hp with xp on it. Because I bought a full version of 7, I buy a license and install the win7 os or I have to buy another drive for an upgrade to another machine?

Product keys are not sold without installation media.

Don't buy product keys for sites that sell just a product key - they are not authentic.

You can buy Windows 7 Upgrade here (or at a local store):

    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/cat/CategoryID.44066700

There is no discount on a second license of Windows 7 If you already have a Windows 7 license.

  • Legalize the illegal installation of Win7

Some time ago I installed a copy of Windows 7 Premium torrented and activated using a kind of rootkit. However, the rootkit is wrong, and although it would be possible to repair it, I can't be arsed.

Basically, I just want to buy a legal copy cq. product key for Windows 7 and use it to activate my current installation.

However, the installed version is the ultimate and I never have, I want to just buy a copy of the Home Premium edition. A few mentions of document helps that I'll have to make one adjusted install "downgrade" my ultimate to Home Premium edition. However I can't find any other information. I seriously don't want to reinstall Windows at this point.

I know that install Windows 7 on an existing installation will move the main directories in a directory 'Windows.old '. This means that it would be a completely clean install, as a matter of fact. These directories include the program files, users, and windows. Older versions of Windows used to have options 'replaces the current installation"but I don't see that here.

I feel like a sell-out anyway because I am fundamentally opposed to online activation systems: p. because it's an addiction that requires internet access. A bit like the Logitech EU Smart Radio, which cannot play the music (on the network) If you have an internet connection active on the servers of Logitech. And some hardware device drivers (for gaming Razer products, for example) only loads the driver/config when the Setup program is able to connect to their "cloud". They thought it would be cool if the driver settings had been registered on the internet. Screw that, more horrible config program they ever designed.

For Windows, the problem is less pronounced, but I do not like my system "phone home" after a few days/weeks/months check the «activation status» This implies a current dependence that one day may begin to bite me in the lacrosse. (You can even buy Windows 7 no more in the Microsoft store, nor are it possible to just buy a key and this forced obsolescence is not something that I'm willing to support, or in my own interest.)

Providers can even dismantle these activation systems when they want more people to use (this version) software.

So, I'm still not clear what I want to do, but I thought I'd ask anyway if it was possible to go down and then enter a new product key.

    Best regards, Bart

Well, you can buy a package of retail or OEM System Builder License for the desired edition you want in order to get the product key. Product keys are not sold separately.

However, the installed version is the ultimate and I never have, I want to just buy a copy of the Home Premium edition. Where can I still get Windows 7?

    Full version-

    Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium

    Version upgrade-

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade

    Family Pack:

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade Family Pack (3 users)

You can use the following method to downgrade the current edition installed all while preserving your personal files and applications:

    http://techingiteasy.WordPress.com/2012/05/12/how-to-downgrade-Windows-7-editions/

Because you're downgraded to lower edition, he of course by default requires a custom installation that moves from the old installation to a folder named Windows.old. That's how it's done:

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD

    Click Install now

    Accept the license agreement

When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 7 click Next.

You will receive the following warning:

The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.

(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK

The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.

Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.

You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.

  • Tecra S3 RAID-0, the Linux installer does not recognize the hard drive

    Hello

I've been googleling much and the only one I found is a post on this forum: http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=8758

I have the same problem, the RAID controller is not recognized by one of the distributions of linux in circulation, and so the hard drive is not recognized, so the linux installation is not possible. I tried FC7 and SUSE9. Due to the demands of work, I need to install FC7.

If there is no driver available for linux, it is possible to disable the RAID controller on the laptop? If so, is that someone could put a guide of how do, or send me to a good link on the subject?

    Thank you

  • How can I empty the Windows installation on my hard drive?

How can I empty the Windows installation on my hard drive, please?  I was going to re - install, then I changed my mind.
Now, every time that I reboot, instead of launching Windows XP Pro, it try to run Windows installation.  The installation program appears as a second menu item under "Windows XP Pro" on the black screen at launch.

How can I remove it from the startup screen and flush it out of my system?

    Any correction, automated for this?

    Thank you.

It is difficult to determine what you did, but the symptoms you describe can be eliminated by editing the boot.ini file (you can also make things really difficult if you make a mistake when you edit the boot.ini file, so be careful).  Will not be "flush out the Windows installation" of your system, but it will stop the menu from appearing at startup time.

    See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/289022

Your boot.ini file probably has a second line in the [operating systems] section.  Make sure that you delete only the line that points to the installation routine.
