The work of the Disqualification of Linux Shell Script

Hello

We are the 11.1.1.7.3 with Weblogic Web server and Linux App Server Disqualification.

I want to know how we can carry out the work of the Disqualification of the Linux and write these commands in the shell script.

(1) present the task (run)

(2) check the employment status to see if the work is in working condition or supplement

I know that on Windows, it utility jmxtools.jar of command line operations in dnDirector/Tools folder. But I'm not able to find the jmxtools.jar file in one of the edq.home or edq.local.home of the directories under Linux install.

Can you guide me to the location where the jmx utility will be available under Linux and also the command to check the status of the job?

Thank you

Ravi

It's him!

Jobs called via the command line interface return an exit status when finished.

Monitor the precise status of the long-term work requires the use of the server of the Disqualification Console user interface.

  • ESXi 4.0 underperformance (one quarter) of the workload on Linux (shell scripting) - specific example given

    Hi everyone;

    Basics:

Our vmware environment is vmware esxi 4.0 on an IBM x 3650, double quad-core processors, 32 GB RAM, 6 x 450 GB 15 k RPM WHAT drives (local). There is a single guest from vmware that is inactive except for this test. The guest is a RHEL 5.3 x86_64 only fully patched host. Best practice: current version of vmware tools is installed, vmxnet3 driver is used, the kernel startup params are notsc divisor = 10, all 6 discs are in a raid10 table, elevator is set to noop.

The above, vmware environment with regard to performance, is facing a 5 year, IBM x 336, who has a copy of RHEL installed.

    Scenario:

We have shell scripts which runs a software installation rather complicated. Without getting too inside, scripts to make a ton of calls of subroutines (e.g. VAR = $(écho $line | cut-f1-d:)). This script works horribly slow in the new vmware and vmware environment otherwise slow (less than 1/2 the speed, perhaps only 1/3 the speed) 5 year old physical server. Because the operation is an operation of 15 minutes in the best of times, it takes 30-60 minutes to complete, on a new server.

As a test case, I made this script (yes I know 'let i = i + 1' would be faster, but do not reflect the actual workload.)

    #! / bin/sh

    I have = 0

    While------[$i - lt 1000]

    do

    I have = $(echo "$i + 1" | bc)

    fact

I then run this script (which basically incriments I from 0 to 1000) and time. I the time using an external timer because I know that vmware can distort a bit sometimes. However, the results represent the picture. The script above takes about 8.5 seconds on the guest operating system and about 2.25 seconds on the physical host computer. Basically, it is considerably slower.

I have read the 3 VI and vSphere 4 practices better performance... I read that potentially binary translation and VMware could cause a problem, or the fork then the/bin/sh is slow on vmware (some article strange re Zap?) ... but I'm curious to know if anyone has had similar experiences or recommendations? For the guys out there linux, RHEL and other suppliers, the above script gives also a second 8-10 response?

For the people of vmware, y at - it something on bash (/ bin/sh) which makes it slow... especially on iterations () $ who call/bin/sh and more? I tried to replace the above $i = with 'I = i + 1' and it ends in less than a second and I tried to add a true/bin/in the mixture of execution, and he had a minimal impact on the speed (currently testing the forkO / exit() combo - and re - write this particular program/script I know is an option, do not write say to do)

    Any comments welcome, thank you

MMU operations-hungry as fork/exec run a lot faster on processors AMD with IVR, that we support with ESX 3.5 and Intel processors with EFA, requiring vSphere.

  • Stop the Service Console and shell scripts

Now that VMware announced ESX 4.1 is their last hypervisor with a service console, I was wondering-

What are the options to make what is now a large number of Linux shell scripts perform the same functions on ESXi - i.e. PowerCLI, Host Profiles, etc. and how long we have until officially support chips for the ESX service console?

    Thank you

PowerCLI does not rely on a service console. However, you must have paid the ESXi version for them to work.  With respect to the profiles of the host, which is a characteristic of vCenter and has more no dependencies on the COS.  You can start watching to convert all of your shell scripts PowerCLI and use scripts.

What about when VMware will stop support for ESX, I do not anticipate happening any time soon.

Is there a way of powershell to access a Linux VM in a domain environment and then run a Linux shell script to a guest Linux OS - for example to set the network settings of the virtual machine?

    Thank you!

You can use the Invoke-VMScript cmdlet. It allows you to run a script bash inside the Linux guests supported.

There is also the Set-VMGuestNetworkInterface cmdlet to configure NETWORK card. It is based in fact on the same technique as the Invoke-VMScript cmdlet, but PowerCLI Dev team provided the bash script to you.

  • Call the OBIEE Unix Shell Script

    Hi all

Is it possible to make a call to a Unix Shell Script with the framework of the Action of OBIEE.

    Thanks in advance

I don't think, but we can go for it instead side BI. Try to transfer the same features side shell script so that the script can identify your report using the tail of the log nqquery and execute the rest of your lines in shell script.

This can done and works as expected. If you identify your report instead of this long logical query at all with my suggestion that you can go for a little keyword.

There is no need to check the contents of the file, just check for the error in your shell script.  Something like:

Ah! Yes, the agent is to collect real-time events. If no new event is written then it won't work. If you want to collect logs that have been generated before you use the importer of Log insight which was published with LI 3.3. I hope this helps!

    Hi all experts,

I am facing problem on execution of OEDQ work of prompt on localhost.

    My system configuration is:

The jmxtools.jar file is present in the path C:\Program Files\Datanomic\dnDirector\tools

At first, I opened the windows command prompt. Go to the above specified jmxtools.jar directory on command prompt.

Then after one in a single command according to the document of the Disqualification command-line tool.

doingTest-> name of the job that has been created by me

Disqualification - CD-> name of the project (in fact, it is built into the project on OEDQ)

    dnadmin-> user name

    p4dqnvo2-> password

localhost-> name of the server on which OEDQ has been installed (but I mostly doubt here, is good?)

    9002 > port number

After that, run it above command shows below error:

nested exception is: java.io.EOFException (code: 7052)

I think that it is related to my system, network error.  I tried Googling several times to find the solution to this problem. but, alas!  I am powerless to solve this problem.

Please someone help me on this problem.

Any help will be much appreciated.  Thanks adavance.

    Hello

Looks like you have the wrong port. You need the JMX port, which is probably in your configuration, 9005, not the HTTP port (9002).

You did not first louyo 'NAT or Bridged?' question but its context was not perhaps not clear even if, after seeing...

    [root@test-host ~] # ifconfig

    eth0 Link encap HWaddr 00: 0C: 29:55:EF:96

    INET addr:192.168.241.0 Bcast:192.168.241.255 mask: 255.255.255.0

RUNNING BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 metric: 1

It is not really important because despite everything, it is patently obvious what is the main problem!

The IP address of the guest operating system is not set properly!

louyo asked 'NAT or Bridged?', meaning is card virtual machine network configured as a 'NAT or Bridged?' if it has been filled, the guest operating system would have an IP address on the 192.168.0.0 subnet IP and as NAT would have an IP address on the 192.168.62.0 IP subnet.

Configure the guest operating system to use DHCP or manually assign a correct IP address while setting the virtual machine Network Adapter is connected by a bridge or a NAT.  Since the host uses a Wi - Fi connection, I suggest using NAT and if manually assign an IP address must be between 192.168.62.3 and 192.168.62.127, as that is beyond the scope of the DHCP Server VMnet8 IP address Pool.  If you choose to use Bridged can use DHCP in the guest operating system or using an IP address that is outside the scope of the routers IP DHCP Server Address Pool and for that, you need to check the Configuration of the router.

You didn't say which VMware product or version you are using however I strongly suggest you read the documentation and specifically Chapter 5 "Configuring network connections" in Using VMware Workstation (PDF file).

  • How to strengthen the failure on jobs of the Disqualification

We execute the Disqualification autosys scheduler jobs (ksh shell script called CLI command) and have the following conditions:

    1. do not the autosys job each time that there is a problem in the execution of the task of the Disqualification (i.e. the Disqualification job failed because of blocking problem)

    2. do not work autosys whenever at least a save fails in the processor business rules

Currently, the shell script returns a 0 return code (success) on both scenarios.

Can you advice how Disqualification jobs can be configured to trigger failure to the caller?

Yes the bug has been checked on 12.2.1. It is the version, and not specific o/s. The bug does not exist in previous versions. We are working on a fix for the fix.

  • Problems with the developer of the Disqualification VM

We want to assess a few characteristics of the Disqualification, so the developer provided by Oracle VM for 12.1.3 was downloaded and imported in Virtual Box and configured by the installation guide for VM to Oracle for the Disqualification.  He promises (I guess you are aware) a ready-to-go, essentially free installation, vm where some exercises based on a Disqualification can be worked, etc.

It will not work.  We are not an Oracle shop in a perspective of DB, aren't we a store of Linux so there is not a lot of expertise to try to solve the problems with what is supposed to be a good install.

Essentially, the WebLogic administration server fails to start and the Disqualification app server does not start.

Don't want to take much time at all, but I'm just curious, if there are a few known issues with this VM developer who are documented somewhere and resolution so that we can get things facing up and running without having to learn about weblogic, etc at this stage.

    Thanks in advance.

There there was no problems known with this, other than to ensure that you have sufficient resources to run it. A machine at least 16 GB of RAM is preferred.

An alternative to evaluation purposes would be the quick start installation for windows you will find on the page of the OTN Disqualification.
