The writable volumes - hang on logoff

Hello

sometimes on logoff when an accessible writable volume is assigned to a user, the logoff process hangs, remaining in "Signing out" forever. I have to reset or power of the VM off the coast. Is this a known bug or I do something wrong?

Kind regards

Cristiano

Hey,.

It looks that I do these days in a lot of the assumptions

If you use accessible volumes in writing, you need to refresh the desktop whenever you used it because otherwise the settings of a user might be in accessible volume in writing of another user.

Although I would still say (if possible out of the classroom due to high IOPS / s) to refresh the desktop if you use pooled floating desktop computers.

    Help!

    Hi olliecox,

    ·         Did you the latest changes on the computer?

I suggest you try the steps mentioned below and check if it helps.

Step 1: Temporarily disable the security software.

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Step 2: Follow the provided items.

  • Toshiba 46TL938G hangs suspended 20 seconds the channel volume or entry

    Hello

I recently bought a Toshiba 46TL938G. When I turn it on and try to do something the system hangs for about 20 seconds, a large rotating circular icon appears in the upper right of the screen (as if it is make a departure upward and informing me that I have to wait) then everything works fine.

It's very frustrating because it only seems to happen when you try to do something like change the channel/volume/AV input. For example if I turn on my TV and leave it for 5 minutes, it will sit just idling on the program that is on.
But the second I try to change the channel/Volume/entry/go in menu it freezes for 20 seconds, then do it of thing and let me go in my life.

All the world is the experience and knowledge of a fix? The firmware on my TV says it's up-to-date.

Have you tried to reset the TV?

  • The network volumes fall, Finder crashes

This problem is reproducible on two of my machines to date.

    The installation program:

    1. Mount a network volume (in this case DSM Synology NAS 6.0.2 - 8451 Update 1)
    2. From an application (in my case the Pages, but it happened in Word as well), save a document on the volume

    The result:

    • The document does not record
    • Disassemble the network volume
    • Finder crashes, recovery is no help
    • The application where I save also crashes and not even the activity monitor or a process kill Terminal will stop the process to run

I thought that this might be related to Adobe Creative Cloud, Dropbox or folder by default, but I can reproduce this problem with all these apps does not. I am now more convinced than ever that this is a bug of networking of Sierra, but was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if so, have you been able to solve it?

    Thank you very much.

Just in case where somebody comes here first of all, as I did, a tour on the Synology forums confirms that there is a bug in the implementation of the AFP on Synology readers - and perhaps other NAS drives do not do by Synology. Apparently Apple has changed the Protocol quite that save files to a network volume will crash Finder and hang the tent application of the Save.

The solution is to get any volume of network via SMB. So instead of cmd - K and typing afp://your-volume-name you smb://your-volume-name. Simple enough and it seems to work around the problem.

Is a software or hardware problem?

    Hello

For me, this looks a bit like a HARD drive problem.
I guess that HARD drive developed and the hardware error.

Have you checked if the HARD drive is listed and recognized in the BIOS?
    Do this!

If the HARD drive is not visible in the BIOS then it would mean that the HARD drive is dead and must be replaced.

Even if the HARD drive would be listed in the BIOS, you test another new HARD drive to check if the problem is not related to the failure of HARD drive.

  • Problem with the controls volume/internet on my laptop HP HDX 16

    Hey,.

I have a laptop of HP HDX 16, around the age of 8 months. I keep having problems with the touch buttons that controls volume, bass/treble and the internet. The buttons randomly disappear by themselves, turn on and off Alternatively my volume/bass/treble from top to bottom and my internet.

I have updated the drivers for the buttons to quick launch without result. I've also just updated my computer to Windows 7, so my Bios is brand new (the problem started before I updated to 7).

As you can imagine, get my internet randomly stops and for the black volume screen blocking what I was doing and hang my computer is getting pretty annoying. Any help on this would be surprising.

    Thank you
    Printertron

I also have the same problem. HDX 16, around the age of 3 months.

I found to do all sorts of updates the driver, uninstall, System Restore (no), and does not help.

I'm still on Vista, but when I get my kit to upgrade to Windows 7, I had planned to see if it resolved the problem.

Technical support HP told me that if a recovery does not resolve the problem, it must be delivered to them, and the band of totality quicklaunch may have to be modified.

I intend to make the recovery during the holiday season.

Based on the fact that you got your computer 8 months ago, I assume that you have not used an upgrade kit. Which means, I would recommend doing a recovery before calling the technical support because they will just have to insist that you do anyway.

An interim solution, when the volume control locks your screen is at the end of the process called "SmartMenu.exe". It will reload the next time that you start your computer.

  • "Found root system on the disk volume is damaged."

Hi, have a Dell laptop Inspiron 1720 under Vista. Suddenly the screen turned blue, my wife tells me, and she tried to restart. A message passed very quickly, and she was unable to read. When I tried to restart the screen has come to give the option to start in safe mode, guest, with the network and other options, including to start normally. I tried each of the options, and none worked so I am unabe to run chkdisk or system restore because I can not get the prompt. I used my boot drive and ran the repair, not good ran, it ran and said the system should restart, he did, but windows could not load.

I ran a few other test with the F2 and F12 keys-drive unit as much as I've been able to say all items being passed. I took the vista disc and tried to do a clean installation, the computer wouldn't complete installation, it just hangs on the system configuration. After running another one of the diagnosis he was one of the tests that gave information

" Root cause found" "" system on the disk volume is damaged".

What is this and can I replace the hard drive for this problem?

    Thank you

    Hi Michel S

Changed the BIOS to ATA and was able to download Vista and put in place. When I set the BIOS to SATA boot computer a blue screen that passes if fast, cant read then stops start towards choosing a nail system, to the system recovery of windows screen then the screen of windows recovery and repeated the same thing each time.

  • Is there a (best practices concerning the) maximum volume of Appstack size?

I can't find the specific recommendations on the maximum size of an appstack.

We want to create a model of 50 GB or even more. Someone at - it experience with this scenario?

The default size is 20GB, so if you want to create an appstack which is 50 GB you will need to create a new model with 50 GB of disk space.

I've heard of writable volumes (not appstacks, I know, but still it's just as a reference) are large 100 GB. The maximum file size of the appstack, as far as I can see, is limited to the file size VMWare supports (somewhere in the terabytes? Anyone?). If my guess is that 50 GB should be easily achievable.

  • Capture settings App stack in writable Volume

    Hello

Is it possible to capture changes in the settings of programs within an AppStack using writable Volumes?

We have a set of accounts that records the lists of company in the program data directory. These data are different for every user who uses the program. Ideally we want to roll out the program in an AppStack rather than installation on the base image, but users will constantly lose their settings unless we can store the data in some way.

If we deploy the program through an AppStack with an accessible volume in writing attached will be changes to the program get saved or not?

    Thank you!

Yes. Please use writable volume (which are unique for each user) to save the data specific to the user or application settings.

  • Folder redirection folders and writable Volumes

If we use the folder redirection via GPO for our desktop view and also deploy writable volumes, how can we be sure that writable volumes does not store the same file data which is already redirected? For example, if a user stored a 20 GB on the desktop file, and we have the folder redirection by storing this safe to say the home directory of the user, how can we ensure that accessible volumes in writing is not to store this 20 GB file too?

    Thank you

    Hey Iforbes,

We also use the folder redirection in our virtual machine as well as writable volumes.

As a reference, Appvolumes does nothing different that would make a 'normal' Windows machine I mean, it's that writable volumes stores no information that is not written on their local drive.

If you configure the folder redirection and files of succeeeds redirection of files stored on the homedrive because windows sees this directory as the location to store the information, it is not stored locally. However, if for the folder redirection for some reason fails and that the Office IS stored locally, information will be saved in the accessible volume writable.

Because the folder redirection is performed at the opening session that it is already in place when the user connects so information will not be stored on the available volume in writing. We do this successfully with desktop, my documents (and subfolders) and downloads and it works like a charm.

  • Writable Volume models - differences?

Hoping someone can get an idea on what the differences are (as appropriate) and when to use the different models of accessible Volume writable? Here are my assumptions of the model types:

    • template_uia_only - user installed Apps
    • Profile of template_uia_plus - user installed Apps + user profile settings
    • template_profile_only - user profile settings

Each model is set up as a thin 10 GB configured VMDK and seem to contain the same files for each type. Is there a global impact, or required for the use of a model on another type?

    TIA,

    -Jason

About the documentation, you're not alone, I really hope we can get more technical documentation...

What is happening is that the Appvolumes filter driver can see those that are written in this place, and because you're using a common desktop computer (which return to its basic configuration) all changes are written automatically in writing accessible volume using a mount point...

Not all the files and registry settings are in accessible volume in writing, however, some information will be filtered and discarded as tips and temporary files...

Keep in mind to create an image of gold with a different user who receives an accessible volume in writing. Otherwise, there will be one profile folder, in the gold statue that will be also the same as that of the available volume in writing, and this can cause stability problems... And don't forget to completely refresh the machine after use.

  • A copy of the Sierra of MacOS and travel on the same volume

I installed a new copy of the Sierra of MacOS, and most things seem to be well-oiled. However, I noticed that when I copy a file and paste it on the same volume, a copy of it remains in the original location. So, by example, if I download a file in the Downloads folder and then copy this file in Documents, a copy of the file remains in the folder downloads. On previous versions of Mac OS x, the default action might have to move the file of Di-ownloads of Documents. Is it possible to recover this feature?

Another totally independent question is I see also that Terminal does not save orders, after its closure. So if I entered a command then close Terminal, after the reopening, I have to type the same command again. On older versions of Mac OS x, we could simply use the arrow keys to navigate through previous orders. Is it possible to recover this feature?

Try the press / hold down the command key while you click and drag a file from one folder to another. Like El Capitan, this should move the file.

About Terminal, the up/down arrows always work for me to remind the right Terminal commands like they did with El Capitan.

  • change the tempo of the track volume automation

brand new GB11 user. open new song in loops. probably screwed up by setting don't not bpm to 75 at this time since I would be slipping into 75bpm titles. After slipping into 5 tracks of instruments, I used the track volume automation to them fade in and out (using points as I call them). When I closed GB11 he asked if I wanted to save, and I did. When I reopened it tracks were not aligned the same, nor the volume automation curve track (all were stretched August and longer than when I closed it). I was able to redo tracks tempo and align the, but my auto track volume curve remained tense. so, fades correspond no more.  is it possible to assign to this curve 75bpm or do I have to go back and manually make them all again? Thank you!

You have 'Curved Automation to areas Lock' enabled in the menu 'control '?  If this isn't the case, activate this flag before moving areas. It is probably too late now, after you have moved the regions.

Select the track, command-I to open get the Info window. Switch to the Options tab, and then adjust the Volume slider.

Not all apps honor this setting, so test with your workflow first, before spending too much effort on it.
