I don't know what that means. In any case reset the default cropping tool. To do this, on the options of the crop on the right tool bar look for a box with lines inside. Click and reset. Who can fix it.

  • There was a problem of reset your PC - new Windows laptop, 8 problem

    Hello

I just bought a new laptop Windows 8, but it was the demo model so I want to reset to factory settings before using it, but I keep getting the message "there was a problem of reset your PC. The refresh option works well, it is just reset that I have problems with.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you!
I had the same problem, my new laptop dv6 HP Envy series of reset, and nothing seemed to work... I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers, tried setting the registry and updates, and pretty much abandoned when I came across something that finally worked.  Your mileage may vary, as seems to be to use a HP tool, but other laptops probably have similar software.
    1. first of all, go in the menu settings of Windows 8 in the bar of charms
    2. Select "General" on the left, then select "Advanced Startup" down to restart
    3. now, after the laptop starts up to the blue options screen select "Troubleshooting" and then select 'Advanced Options', then 'settings of UEFI firmware.  Reset by selecting or refreshment of the options screen always gave me the error message and it was to square.
    4. now, I get a Start Menu ASCII with several choice of function keys, including "System Recovery", which is what I chose.
    5. now I'm prompted to my keyboard, and then I get another blue screen "Choose an option" a bit different from the one in step 3, and then select "Troubleshooting", but then "Recovery Manager", and "Windows 8".
    6. I get the recovery of HPs Manager menu, when one of the options is "Minimizes Image Recovery", which restores the operating system to a State of minimal factory.  Choose this one and wait for about 45 minutes, while the installation of HP software tool does its thing.  It seems to take a little more time to reset the system in this way does it in the usual way for a reason, but you do not get near the amount of bloatware.
I don't quite understand why this works and is not the usual way of resetting of the operating system, but I guess that something is messed up in the registry or config file, preventing Windows 8 by using some of the Tools System.  By selecting the UEFI firmware settings, however, gives us a way to launch the system from the recovery partition tools.  I'd be curious to know if anyone else gets it works, or has any idea why it works.
In any case, I think that it's major design flaw: the possibility of calling to zero/restore the operating system should not be heavily dependent on the OS installed, because usually people want to do that once the OS itself is messed up.  In addition, the fact that you have to plow through so many menus to find the good solution is also an indicator of poor design (this criticism applies to a large part of Windows 8).

  • Crop tool leaves halo on the edges of the image

You have noticed that the Adobe photoshop crop tool, when used to make the image bigger than he was, leaves a halo around the edges of the image?  This happens only if the image is on its own layer, separated from the background.  Any way to prevent that?  It is annoying and needs to be cleaned afterwards, and there is no reason for this.

    evFZvdW.png

This happens when, for example, I'm taking a picture and turn it into a wallpaper of the computer. If the image does not resize to the size of the screen of 1920 x 1080, and I don't want some of the image to crop, I drag the widgets of resizing of culture outside the bounds of the image, which creates the new area outside the boundaries of the image filled with the background color and the halo boring on the edges of the image in the upper layer.

This happens when the image is cropped to the format that is not compatible with the native file size - that is to say a greater height or width as the native image file.  PS use your background color (white) to fill the empty space.

  • Crop tool - problem!

Hi, I use Photoshop CS5.1 on two computers; on the laptop, it works fine, but about 6 weeks ago I started having problems with the cropping tool on my work computer (all other functions seem to work).

When I mark an area and then click Enter he removes the entire image instead of register the domain I scored. Everything else seems to work very well. Have I missed an update or changed without knowing a setting?

Or it's just a strange bug? I'm not too keen on the reinstallation of the program, because that would mean having to reinstall InDesign etc. too, and I really need this program now. Any ideas?

    Cheers, Peter

    Hi Peter,.

    Greetings!

I would say to reset the tool and see if that makes the difference.

To reset a tool, you must first have the selected tool. Then Ctrl-click (Windows users: right click) the button tool preset in the Tool Options bar.

When you click this button, you will see a small menu and you can select Tool Reset to reset the current tool to its default value or reset all tools to deliver all the tools to its default value. Once selected, the tool will act as the first time you have used it.

Using this simple method to reset your tool with a single click, you can quickly remedy any situation where the tool does not correctly and to maintain the flow of creativity going.

Im trying to crop my image and it works vertically, but when I move the image or paste it on another layer excess I wanted removed is still there. I already cleared all the crop tool settings and reset all the settings of photoshop. Anyway to fix this?

    Hello

Thanks for the pics, I wish you would show the entire document and the screen to see your settings and panels. My guess is that you are working on the image layer is a "dynamic object" that will keep the data even after cropping. (see SO icon below). You can rasterize TI (right click on the SO layer in the layer panel and choose layer rasterize). Or just go ahead and save it as a file .gif and must produce a color copy Index cropped your file.

  • How to get the crop tool to work faster (is slow)

I'm growing a few thousand photos, and the crop tool is just slow.

Change the culture or the displacement of the image behind the harvest is nervous, sometimes he has seconds to change the display, which makes pain culture to work.

Even though the image is loaded and the lightroom rested some time, cropping is slow, which should not be, since the image is entirely in memory and moving should be easy for the computer.

So, how can I get the crop tool to go faster?

I use a Win7 Core i7-2600 with 16GB of Ram, catalogue LR on Intel SSD, images on a fast SeaGate HDD, AMD Radeon HD 6800 grafics adapter, display of 30 "(2560 x 1600)." The files are a Nikon D800E NAVE, but my D700 files are slow, too.

I've worked through this list , which helped a little, but not too much.

    I'd appreciate some tips!

    Thank you
    Sam

    Sam,

This is good and bad news.

It must draw a ton of pixels in a higher resolution, and I suspect that it only uses the CPU to do. Have a faster card video likely would not help.

While you perform your crop, maybe you could reduce the Lightroom window so that the actual image which shows takes less than half of the screen space. There has been posts on this forum that indicate an increase in high speed to keep the image small enough. It seems to be quantified: there are certain thresholds, when the Crusaders, causing big boosts in performance. Try a few experiments.

    Ja.

  • Expansion of the photos after turning with the crop tool

    Hello

I'll try a second attempt for my desire to add a feature to the crop tool:

I like the crop tool in lightroom, but there is a feature that I miss:
    Sometimes I have this situation:
    http://www.Flickr.com/photos/ellersiek/2633499034

Knowing, that in most cases limiting the cropping is ok, I wish to have an option to enlarge the resulting image like this:
    http://www.Flickr.com/photos/ellersiek/2632678737

It is correct, if there is an option in the preferences with the ablility to select a color for the 'new' pixels and the crop tool will only enlarge the photo while pressing the Ctrl key (to avoid unwanted results).

You can say: ' take the picture to the right, move your camera ", but in these photo sessions, we have good reasons to take the pictures in this way.

Hi Adobe engineers and a big thank you, solve you my problem - after seven years.

And no, I'm not kidding, I'm really grateful (OK, a little joke on :)) speed

Now in Lightroom CC 2015.6, I can use the transformation tool not really new and his new (was it really new? I don't remember if this function exists in the previous version) feature of the x - and y-movement to solve the problem.

Here is an example, where I missed a small part of the carneval agree in the upper left corner:

    LR-cropping-issue 1 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

After cropping and rotation, I've lost important elements in the lower left corner and the man moved too much to the left:

    LR-cropping-issue 2 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

Now, with the transform tool I can bring that part:

    LR-cropping-issue 3 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

And now, I only develop the sky and the small missing part of the color in photoshop:

    LR-cropping-issue 4 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

It's a big improvement for me.

Thank you again for the Germany
