There seems to be a serious scam involving a suit called "Techon Support"

original title: TECHON SUPPORT SCAM TARGET WINDOWS USERS

It seems to be a serious scam involving a suit called 'Techon Support', which are plausible and persistent, and claim to be working on behalf of Microsoft. They seek to have access to your computer and seek to be charged £60 for an extended software warranty. Please tell us what people should therefore if they became victims of this scam, ensure that the computer is safe.

You should pay no attention to the crooks and go to any of the sites that they suggest and don't download any files or spare they send and essentially ignore them.  And certainly not pay money.  They are NOT Microsoft - Microsoft doesn't do business like that.

You must also report it to the authorities (the police) so they can try to track down those criminals who cause damage even more before all is said and done.

You can also report it to the internet crime complaint center if necessary.

Here's a suggestion on what to do next:http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/bank/PhishingVictim.mspx

I hope this helps.

Good luck!
