ThinApp and Vista business question

Hi, I've been using ThinApp 4.0.2 with Windows XP successfully (currently the trial version - due to changes on the full product this week), but we moved on Vista Business.  If you are using Vista, at the end of the phase of 'Create project' (before you build the application, I get a page full of files that were unable to copy.  Does anyone know what means this error and how it effects my final build?

Just to clarify, I built a single application on XP without the error, the error looks like (multiple lines):

Could not copy the file C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Search\Data\Applications\Windows\MSS.log - & gt; C:\Program ThinApp\Captures\%appname%\%$Common AppData%\Microsoft\Search\Data\Applications\Windows\MSS.log VMware

Thank you

This error message is harmless. Looks like the indexer process was running and keeps a file opens, ThinApp detects that the file has changed, but it can be copied to the project because another process, he opened. It's ok, your application does not need it.

  • Windows operating system reinstall disk lost and stickers COST for XP Pro and Vista Business

Hi all. I have a question about MS, licenses, please. If I bought several machines refurbished with XP Pro OEM DELL original and stickers stickers Vista Business OEM on them and their image with a Windows XP Pro SP3 OEM OS. Not the disk right that the machines came with, am I allowed? I mean, I use XP Pro on all of them. If after pasting the image, I entered each product key from the COA sticker in the OS, I license?

    Thanks for the help

Yes, as long as you use twice the same key.  A key = a single computer.

  • Jumping mouse pointer and Vista "busy circle" using WMP

When I plug in a "memory stick" SanDisk, WMP trying to 'sync', 'something something '.  The mouse pointer and the Vista 'busy circle' jumping around.  I disabled the auto-start, I deleted the box "Start synchronization when the device connects" and I tried all the options in Sync Center.  WMP recognizes the different sizes of "memory sticks" and each is full.  Sometimes, the "memory sticks" shows in the library list.  I ended up the sync on a partnership, but this command is grayed out on the other.  The side "edit" of WMP sometimes shows the "memory stick" he said here drag the items to synchronize.  Sometimes the side "edit" of WMP says "connect the device.  Once in about 50 tries, WMP actually synchronize with the "memory stick".  I use the memory sticks for data transfer and storage only.  I NEVER want anything to synchronize!  I'm from the old (old, old, old read) school, so if I want something copied, I will use the copy command.  I've seen similar problems here and tried the solutions provided, unfortunately, nothing seems to work.  HELP PLEASE!
    TYVM!

After the cohabitation on maybe 10 different forums, I came across an apparent solution.
Apparently, the "guilty" is the Portable device enumerator Service.
When I disabled it, my problems went away.

Follow this step to turn off the service.

    1. click Start and type services.msc in the start search box and press on enter.

    2. scroll through the list and select the service.

    3. right click on the service and choose the Propertiesoption.

    4. you can change the Startup type to disable or the status of the service to stop.

    Good luck to all!

  • Satellite A300 - and Vista recovery Question

I bought a Satellite A300 a few days previously, it automatically installed Vista without CD when I opened it.
Is it joint to come with a vista CD/DVD or I need to burn a Toshiba Recovery disk?

Pkozerski is right. Toshiba offers no support for recovery with new laptop models and this media must be created using the preinstalled recovery Toshiba creator tool.

To do this I advise you to use high quality in DVD-R format media. My favorite is TDK or Verbatim.
If you change anything in the future on your laptop, you'll be able to find your laptop using recovery image stored on the second partition.

If you need instructions specific to how make it please let me know.

    Thanks for your help.

PS: in case it helps: Tecra S5, ZoneAlarm, SuperAntiSpy, Webroot AV and Vista Business SP1

I see that you have installed a lot of 3rd party software.
Hey Buddy, I got the Zonealarm too and I wasn't satisfied. This tool always requires approvals and other applications didn't work properly.

I m wondering if the Tempro crashed after installing a new OS from Toshiba. I mean you could test to see if a 3rd party tool affect this software.

I would recommend taking the recovery disk and reinstall the operating system. Updated the Tempro, then check if the problem still persists.

Sorry, but buddy is a way to discover what causes this problem.

    Hey Wyz Azz

Vista home premium to vista Professional is NOT an upgrade path

You must do a fresh install with the help of a full vista Enterprise license

With the 64-bit of Windows Vista editions, things are as clear as possible. You can upgrade:
-Home Basic, Home Premium and Ultimate.
    -Home Premium to Ultimate.
    -Business to ultimate.

for your vista upgrade family problems premium if the ultimate disc doesn't have a sp2 already as part of it uninstall sp2 from the installed OS family premium to ultimate upgrade then reinstall sp2

  • The license sticker is for Vista Business and Vista Basic is preinstalled

I just bought a Satellite Pro L300, which was supposed to have Vista Business installed.

When I turned on the laptop and went through the initial installation of the operating system and configuration, Vista Basic installed, without ever asking me a license key.

The Home license sticker at the bottom of my laptop shows "Windows Vista Business OEMAct".

How to install Vista Business? There is no CD/DVD in the sealed box that the laptop came in so I have no extra programs to install.

I bought this model because supposedly I could downgrade from Vista Business to XP.

    Thank you!

It's really a case of contact Toshiba by phone or email, form (support/Contacts page).

  • want to download win vista business 64 bit and we my 32-bit key, where could I find

switch from 32-bit to 64-bit for windows vista business oem

The product key on the label of COA affixed to your computer (in the battery on some laptops) is the same for 32-bit and 64-bit.  However, there is no place to download a Vista Business .iso file.  You can contact the manufacturer of your computer for help, but OEMS are not required to provide copies of 32-bit and 64-bit of their recovery software.  Once a customer chooses one or the other platform is usually all that he has the right to.  Check the manufacturer's Web site to see if the recovery software can be ordered both ways.  If this isn't the case, you may be stuck.

  • Black screen when closing and activating/deactivating my admin user account - Vista Business 32 bit

    Hello

I just formatted and reinstalled Vista Business, I noticed a slow anomaly at the start of my laptop, when my user account on my admin account (I have a black screen for 5 sec). On the contrary, my Admin on my user account, this can take up to 15 sec. During this time of waiting, I have only a black screen (no dekstop).

1 KSOD (not sure it is) during startup, slow to start (in my case, windows logon and the user interface with 'Welcome' appeared)
2 KSOD by logging into my account (before appearing the dekstop)
3 KSOD when my account is closed
4 KSOD when I change to another account, that is to say, of the user account to the account admin (KSOD for more than 15 sec)

Programs at startup: no Autoruns, Rollback Rx, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (my graphics driver), Hitman Pro

    Thanks for your help!

    Hello Ramaflore,

If I understand correctly, you saw this black screen problem before a format.  After format and reinstall Windows, you still see the behavior of the black screen.

    This means two things:

    1. There is a program that was previously installed and has been reinstalled and that is the cause.
    2. The hardware is at fault.

We will perform a clean boot to remove all third-party software startup that can interfere with the normal operation of the machine:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

Secondly, I would recommend running the diagnostics of equipment provided by your manufacturer.

I have Windows Vista business with SP1. I need SP 2 to download IE 9, but whenever I do a check of updates in automatic updates, it never shows SP 2 to download and install. • I have a desktop computer with Vista business I want to upgrade to Windows 7 and install Vista on a laptop that has XP Pro but is Vista capable.

Transfer Vista Business on XP Pro computer.

I have a desktop computer with Vista business I want to upgrade to Windows 7 and install Vista on a laptop that has XP Pro but is Vista capable.

    Hello

If you use the Vista licence as part of the upgrade to Windows 7 you cannot use the license of Vista anywhere elsewhere

It is part of the upgrade process

    and also read this on licensing rules;

If Windows was preinstalled on your computer, Dell, HP, etc., or you bought an OEM/license disk, they are both classified as an OEM license and are not transferable.

The Windows OEM license is linked to the original computer it is installed on and dies with the computer.
You cannot transfer it to another computer/laptop

If a retail Windows license, you can transfer it to another computer/laptop.
But it can only be installed on one computer at a time.

A single license is a single Installation.
