• Should I learn flash?

  I am in the first year of my degree and don't really have to spend a lot of time studying because I did earlier. We learn the basics of HTML, CSS, Javascript, Flash, Photoshop etc but it is not specific enough to get a decent job.

  I want to focus my attention (and money) on one main thing of learning and control it but don't know who to go to. I like using the flash and like all its capabilities but also know how important it might be to perhaps master photoshop and watch type digital art stuff.
  Or maybe learn CSS or something like that.

  I want to go maybe Web design, but am also interested in many other things. I mean, even if I go Web design, should I learn flash or should I focus my attention on photoshop and HTML?

  I'm not really an arty type, I don't want to just be a programmer that I at least want to do some design.

  I want to see how easy things are to learn, how fun it would be, it would be useful in a few years and also demand.

  Flash is not to go and getting only more popular every day.

  SEO and tracking has come a long way as well. You can expect all the disadvantages of Flash go in the coming years.

  And as for all the world have Flash, I think that 99% of people have in some way, form or fashion.

  I see a lot of is a website XHTML/CSS with Flash widgets placed strategically for the interactive trim and flashy.

  I would certainly learn CSS, so you can cut out a Photoshop doc. It's pretty much ground zero of Web dev.

  If you can cut a Photoshop doc in standards compliant XHTML/CSS, then you can find a job and work your way to the top. Although most of the cutting gets outsourced in India and in China, it is know is essential if you want to be a Web Developer.

  After that, you can either branch to backend (PHP, MySQL) or development (JavaScript) frontend.

  Flash also has a backend (AS3, PHP, MySQL) and the frontend (Flash).

  You can also consider Flex, it's about Flash without a timeline, very useful for rapid prototyping and develop interfaces and widgets.

• iMac 5K (2016) will not all wake up with connected external display

  I have an iMac 27 "5K nine. My first Mac from Windows - it was a world of frustration and then most of the things I re-learned or found of alternatives for, I have a major problem of the iMac not wake from sleep.   There is no strange configuration, the machine was brand new from Apple themselves, by default on the box, no restoration or something like that as I'm new to Mac.

  Can anyone offer any suggestions to fix the problem so I didn't either unplug the cable or the stop (which brings me to see the connection in horrible mirror every morning)? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  I read people with this problem a year ago, attributed to the renamizer plugin. I have never used the plugin renamizer and na not see this behavior until I just upgraded to version 17?

  (BTW, what's with the influx of major version releases?) Don't you think most of them should be minor point releases, or even patch releases? I wrote s/w, mainly in assembler, C and C++ with some Java thrown when I can't talk the customer out of it. One thing I've learned, it's that when major version releases come out with fast turnaround dates, something is usually not in the management of the code base. I was working with a customer earlier this year, that refuses to increase passes 4.x.x. Major releases must lead extension coders absolutely batsh * t crazy trying to keep up. Some of my favorites have long abandoned.)

  That said, my real question is, someone has identified not why I would get all of a sudden there is a problem that is attributed to an extension I have ever loaded a dozen versions return? I'd hate to start debugging or disable all extensions and start going through a flood of extensions, allowing them one at a time?

  Don't bother with this one. The culprit is FoxLingo. If that is loaded, I get the connection... label on each tab. Turn it off and back to normal. I don't know if it will be sort of a bad interaction with another extension, or if it will happen again if I disable everything except FoxLingo, but it will be someone else's problem. I'll leave the FoxLingo Developer (s) know about it.

• How to delete video messages?

  Thank you very much for the advice - I followed your suggestion and put my file to keep messages for two weeks, long enough for me. Just a by-the-way, these video messages have disappeared from the page of the person, that I sent them? !!! Before I had one of your recommended steps. Interesting, but then again, if there is one thing I've learned about computers, it's that it never ceases to amaze me.

• HP 360: My laptop encryption

  I bought this HP 360 laptop second hand and so far its worked very well. But after that I changed the operating system Linux I used for more sensative work in college and would be dred think someone walk away with it.

  Its constantly updated for my desktop at home, so I wouldn't lose all the data, but I prefer not to have some jerk trying to hack the hard drive just for the hell of it.

  So, I want to protect as much as possible by encrypting the whole machine, not just the hard drive. Theres a program on the laptop that activates if the IDs are entered three times incorrectly and begins to broardcast its position very precisely through GPS every 30 seconds until what the battery dies or is removed.

  But I want to make it is impossible to do anything to the machine.

  Couple of issues with your concerns...

  First, it is unlclear you want complete encryption of the disk for Linux or Windows 7 - so please explain.

  In second place, one of the sad things that I learned to work in InfoSec is that once someone has your hard drive in their possession, all the encryption is delaying their access - NOT prevent it.

  If this person is a typical consumer, they will try to break the access (they will not be able to do so), giving up after a few days and replace the hard drive with a new - for example, to get a FREE laptop in the process.

  If this person is working for an intelligence agency, they will have material that will crash the access very quickly and have access to workaround solutions that we don't know about - reference recent access to encrypted iPhone!

  So, basically, the best way to protect the information on your laptop to ANYONE if it is simply NOT there - using USB keys with hardware encryption.

• Command line of WinRAR with system Exec.vi

  I'm trying to code a program that will RAR a a folder that contains many subfolders with files in them.  WinRAR allows for codes of the command line to send to the WinRAR control via the command prompt (I have it works well).  What I want to do, is to integrate a vi of this code of command via the command prompt line.  I tried to use the Exec.vi system, but with very little luck.  I put the path for winrar tools to attend this repertoire and I used the string "cmd/c" before my entry so that LabVIEW knows that it is a DOS command.  I get an error message that says "'winrar' is not recognized as internal or external, command an executable program or batch file."  I tried to move the codes of the command line at the entrance standard and even winrar on this entry code as well (this one leaves the "cmd/c" as the command to send), still no dice.  Any suggestions would be most useful.  I can provide my code and a list of codes for WinRAR command line if you need it.  Other zip programs would be another option to take that I am open, as long as it can be controlled in the environment LabVIEW and the compression is the best.

  I think that thie problem is maybe due to one of the following reasons:

  1. You are not logged as administrator (or equivalent)

  2. Strategy of automatic updates is enabled

  3. Automatic updates (and Windows Update) access is blocked by group policy

  To solve problems, just follow the steps below:

  To do automatic updates options configurable by the user (only for stand-alone systems), remove restrictions 2 & 3 above.

  • Click Start, run and type REGEDIT to . EXE

  • Go to this location:

  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-SOFTWARE-policies-Microsoft-Windows------WindowsUpdate------AU

  • In the right pane, delete the two values AUOptions and NoAutoUpdate

  • Go to this location:

  HKEY_CURRENT_USER-SOFTWARE-Microsoft-Windows-CurrentVersion------policies------WindowsUpdate

  • In the right pane, delete the value DisableWindowsUpdateAccess.

• Missing ethernet controller driver of conclusion

  I have a question on a PC, I'm trying to suckle along at home. In 2011, I have challenged to grow me and learn and installed a version of Linux on it. However, the only thing I've learned is that Linux was more than one as its members learning curve one would believe. I was never completely satisfied with the results. In 2012, I decided to stick to my strengths, which is my experience and understanding of Windows, so I'll try to get back Windows XP SP2 on it.

  I installed the operating system very well, but I'll get in trouble for all the drivers in place. In particular, I do not have a driver of Ethernet controller, and it is difficult to do so sincerely it is useful these days without connection to the internet.

  I have downloaded and run DriverUpdate (http://driverupdate.net/articles/windows-xp-drivers), but apparently, an internet connection is necessary before you can determine what drivers need to be updated.

  The PC is an older model bridge of 2003 or close (BIOS copyright data when I start), so I tried to download a bunch of drivers on the website of the bridge (http://support.gateway.com/product/?cmpid=topnav). XP would not accept one of them as an update the Ethernet controller driver.

  Does anyone have any suggestions? I have a serial number for the PC and a Windows XP registration code, so who could help me find a place to watch.

  What is the correct driver based on your computer model? The one you were looking for on the Web site of the bridge.

• Replace from the Clipboard, or "connect the wires that overlap?

  I'll go by many of my first diagrams and clean code

  with things I've learned since I started using Labview.  A lot of this involves deleting

  objects, then copy/paste of a conception of good reference in the old design.   However,.

  This often leaves a large number of broken wires to clean.    For example, where I had individual

  enumerations that are used in the design, I am replacing them with typedef enumerations.

  (I couldn't typedef controls to appear in my palette of functions, but it is a question

  for another post)

  As it seems to be my only choice ' replace-> select a VI-> [file .llb]->-> [OK] typedef.

  or remove the old one, paste a new, ctrl-B and rewire.  This second option seems

  to go faster than the first.  But in both cases, there is a lot of click and drag to replace a

  control, and there are dozens of them to do.

  Therefore the routing of the wires is the same, but it takes time to connect them all back.

  Is it possible to tell LV "re - connect the broken wires that overlap the pins."

  Or y at - it a way to simply "replace from the Clipboard?

  If you do a find > anyway, the dialog box that opens has a button replace.  After selecting the replacement, one of the options is to replace all.  This should save time if you have multiple copies of the original constants or controls made from the control.

There is one event for the "Test list": the mouse down, which does nothing, but generate an event of Val (Sgnl) for control of the "test list" If the right mouse button has been pressed. There is no case change value for this control.

  Is there some reason to do so? One thing I've learned about many examples is not be used strictly as examples.

  Nevermind - I found the reason. Although it is not a value change event, generating the value change event is required to change the value on the right click.

  My question is heard elementary to most of you here, but I'm a newcomer to these things that we called computers. My question is this, when I see a photo on a site Web how do I email this picture to someone else? I recently saw a photo that was on MSNBC that showed the northern lights to wash on a boat in Norway and I wanted to send this photo to my father. There was a little red button part, said on this subject and I clicked on which he brought a box that says E-mail of... and then send an e-mail to... and when I filled it and clicked on send, nothing happened!   First off don't worry, everyone starts as a beginner. The important thing is to learn how to identify what you need and how to ask.
  OK you can do that two ways.
  1. you can right click on the image and a small menu appears. The options provided should be 'save' or ' save under.
  If you click on it and save the image on your computer (you choose where you place), then you can open your e-mail program and send it as an attachment as usual.
  2. some sites, you cannot upload photos so that they allow you to use the option you have described.
  After selecting sharing and enter all the information, make sure everything is filled out. You should get a popup message that the message was sent.

• How can I get the icon that allows me to zoom in a larger type at the bottom of all pages

  When I'm in firefox, my impression is so small that I can hardly see it... i have done all the things that I learned and I got my type of font I like, but for some reason, that I can not get the size to change to a larger size... until my computer crashed and I had to do everything everywhere, this icon was there... on some pages, at the top of the page , I think that under Tools (which isn't on all of my pages) will allow me to zoom in for a larger size but in firefox, it is not can not... someone hele me with that?

• Editing a document in Microsoft Mail link. Lost changes.

  I opened a RTF file attached to an e-mail message. I made changes to the file and use CTRL-S to save the changes. I closed the document. When I opened it the document changes had disappeared.

  Please try Bruce. CTRL-S was in MS Word. Word never requested a new file name or location. I tried the same procedure in Word and Outlook and Outlook tells me the message has changed and I want to save the changes. MS Mail said not a thing. Lesson learned the hard way. :-(
