ThinkPad SL300 (2738-4N) - restoration Thinkvantadge features in all new hard drive

Hello

Recently, my hard disk SL300 drive died. I just replaced with a brand new. I have created no recovery media so I lost everything I had in my old hard drive. I would really like to have all the features of Thinkvantadge back in my laptop, especially the Lenovo Care button functions.

Is there a way I could rebuild it has back? Could you please help me?

Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad English.

My HD player (only four years, ARGH) for my Dell Dimension 4700 threw the sector of disk errors in Event Viewer.  I tried disc analysis to fix and it did not help.  I did a full backup, including the State information system on an external hard drive using backup utility Windows XP Pro.  I don't have an emergency boot disk, just the XP PRO installation disc.

I have the new drive (Sata 320 GB rather than Sata 80 GB) installed and loaded with Windows XP again.  I am able to connect and fix the external hard drive and want to restore my old information.

I think that I should restore the backup file using Windows XP with security, junction points, and above all, preserve the mount points for the reader verify that Yes.

  • New hard drive backup restore

I installed a new hard drive after backing up my old one (Snow Leopard) on Time Machine. I can't understand how to restore the backup to the new hard drive.

First install the OS on the new drive.

During the installation process (or just after, I forget exactly), it will offer you the possibility to configure the machine based on a Time Machine backup. Point it at your TM drive and come back in the morning (it will take a long time).

  • R51 new HARD drive will not restore factory correctly state with discs

I caught a HDD of 80 GB on old computer my gf, and I thought I would use it to replace the 40 GB hard drive in my ThinkPad R51.  There is not really important info on my old hdd, so I just created a factory recovery disks, put on the new hard drive (both are PATA) and ran from Rescue and Recovery.  After completing restore to factory state all the new hard drive will do is Rescue and new Recovery charge.  It does not load Windows.  Is there anything else I need to do?

Shot in the hip here, but ISTR that some versions of R & R restore the image of 'restoration' in HD, then you restart to R & R and run a restore it to complete the restore of the rest of the car.

As I said, just something I've seen elsewhere.  Worth, perhaps,

  • New hard drive; Restore System Image taken of the SAME computer Windows7: (RE-) ACTIVATION

Daughter bought TWO IDENTICAL Windows7 Home, laptops Dell Inspiron, EACH WITH ITS OWN PRODUCT KEY. Was given a laptop to MOM as a gift. MOM's hard drive died later. Bought and installed a new hard drive with the same features in MOM's laptop. Used a picture of daughter portable computer system to restore Windows7 Home for MOM's laptop. Everything works perfectly. NOW WE WANT TO (RE) ACTIVATE Windows7 MOM home.

I guess that (RE-) ACTIVATION must be done.

QUESTION: Is it easier to enter the original product key to MOM which is a clone of Windows7 girl on MOM's cell phone, then do a normal activation?

    Thanks for your help.

(While I have your attention, can you remind me what the path is to get to the place where I get the product key?) (Thank you.)

    Problem solved. Thank you.

It was easy. When I went into the system on MOM's laptop he already said: "Windows is activated".

Another question arises: the product key he showed, that must have been imported with the Image of the system taken mobile identical to daughter, had "OEM" in the middle of it. Does this mean that the product keys, use two laptops are actually some generic, common Dell product keys and NOT the product keys shown on the bottom of the respective laptops?

A kind of activation of convenience for Dell customers?

Thank you, again, for your help.

  • I can't restore my favorites from a portable hard drive, why not?

I backed up my favorites through "import and backup" yesterday my hard drive broke down and was replaced. I now have a new hard drive installed and try to restore the bookmarks on my laptop, but I get "failed to process the backup file". This is a JSON, bookmarks-2015-02 - 08.json file. Is that what I have now lost each of my favorites by trying to use the backup procedure? I have more access to the failed drive.

Hi, I have tried that without success, but managed to bring restored by following the link of an earlier application (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/927611). Thanks for the reply.

  • Satellite L350-235 a restore disk runs on a brand new HARD drive?

    Hello

My hard drive is dead (completely) 3 days out of warranty.
Recovery discs has not yet loaded, all I had was a black screen and a mouse pointer.

So I bought a new hard drive. Problem I have now is how to install Windows on a new drive.
    What should I get Toshiba?

I obviously paid for Windows Vista, when I bought the laptop, so I'm a little confused on what to do next.
A restore disk will work on a whole new drive?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

Didn t drive recovery does not happen with the laptop because you had an option to create one using the preinstalled Toshiba recovery disc creator.

You now have this disc which can be ordered here:
    https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

Boot from that disk and follow the instructions on the screen.
The recovery disk works also with the new HARD drive!

    Hey there!

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!

I understand that you can not restore your PC by using the restore disks.

It seems that you did not follow the process of creating media recovery or data backup process.

If you are unable to restore the image by using the discs.

Please use this link to find out how to create a recovery media: http://hp.care/2byIEKi

However, you can contact HP and get a set of system recovery disks.

  • Is it possible to use the Acer restore disks on a new hard drive?

The hard drive on my Aspire 5251 appears to be dead. He was behaving erraticly and we tried a full restore via the program eRecovery a couple of times and it is always wrong (error 0x45d). We also tried discs that we did when the laptop is new with no luck.

I bought and installed a new hard drive, but can't get the disks to install on it either. I'm guessing that it is looking for something partitioned the original hard drive because he says that something is missing. It is more under warranty and I can't figure out how to order the full install discs from Acer. Is it possible to get these recovery discs to work?

Also, FWIW, I installed Ubuntu on the new hard drive just to see if it works, and it's so I know everything works at least.

    TIA

Yes, you can use your Acer restore on a new hard drive disks. If you have installed ubuntu, you may need to format the HARD disk and to create a partition on the disk hard so that the discs work.

  • Try to restore supported files on an external hard drive.

I have a Windows VIsta operating system that crashed this past year.  But just before losing, I used the center of restoration with the Windows backup utility to back up our files.  I supported it up to an external hard drive, Toshiba (E :).   I see the backup of my files on the external hard drive E: but when I go back to Windown backup and Restore Center to restore the files (even with the attached external hard drive) the restore program is not recognizing backup. I am trying to extract the files to my new hard drive.  Pls note that I didn't simply copied and past.  All files are compressed in a Formate of backup on the external drive.  Any suggestions?

    Hello

    1. don't you make changes on the computer before the show?
    2. you receive an error message?

    Method 1:
You can see detailed information about how to restore the files from the link below.

    Method 2:
You can also perform a SFC scan and verify that you are able to perform the backup.
The System File Checker tool analyzes the system files and replaces incorrect versions of system files by using the correct versions.

  • Blue screen error: 0x0000001a when using system to restore with new hard drive disk

original title: blue screen error when you use the system disk to restore with new hard drive

I bought a new hard drive to my computer because the old one gave me a bunch of error messages on screen blues. I installed in the tower and tried to use my restore and system recovery disks that the manufacturer has given me, the process has got to the last disk then asked for the system once again restore disc, and then began to load the last steps and went to blue screen error. I don't know what to do, I mean it's a whole new drive hard, so where could the error come, theres nothing on the hard drive because I have not yet used really, yet. Help, please

I have finally fixed the problem myself. The problem was that one of the sticks three memory was bad and the only way I could test this error. I took two sticks a left, used disks I had and was able to restore my computer, then I put a stick, turned on the computer, had no errors so I let him, so I put the last stick in and com immediately on, I had the Disconnections: memory management and that's when I knew that the last stick of memory was bad I took it back and now my computer works well and I can't buy more memory for not too. So if someone gets this BOSD error on memory, I'd say 8/10 computers have bad memory (not a number). If youcannot run the tool of diagnosis of memory like me then I would suggest to do what I did with the trial and error, it was the only way to understand the problem. Thanks for your help

  • HDD problem IBM Thinkpad T42. I can't install NEW Hard Drive and NEW OEM Windows XP?

    Hi all

When I turn on the notebook Windows XP starts up and everything is loaded. But after 5 or 10 minutes, the response is very slow. If I click on any window and try to open any folder, or open internet explore it takes about 1 or 2 minutes to respond. I tried several ways to scan disk and Defrag, but still that are of no use. I also tried 'Difficulty automatically File System Errors' and ' will search for and attempt recovery of bad sectors ", but this problem is still there. Even when I stop it takes too long to stop about 15 to 20 minutes.

When I turn on again NEXT DAY Windows XP starts and everything loads quickly. After 5 or 10 minutes, the response is very slow. This problem occurs for a few days.

I then used "IBM Rescue and Restore" to load fresh operating system. Still the problem does not get fixed.

Can you get it someone please let me know if this is problem of hard disk or something else. I'm guessing it's related to the hard drive.

If it is the drive hard problem how to save (clone) of this old hard drive AGAIN DISK (after buying) HARD.

If I buy the NEW HARD DRIVE and CD/DVD of NEW OPERATING SYSTEM OEM VERSION it will work? Do existing mother board ALLOW to load a NEW VERSION of OS OEM?

    Thank you

Contact the manufacturer of your computer, IBM and ask them to send a recovery disk/s XP set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

Buy a new hard drive > Reinstall.
