  Hello, I just formatted my laptop and now when I goto the Device Manager I see an icon missing drivers. I already have a full windows update. Its about "(USB) Universal Serial Bus controller". I tried to find the drivers to support page here to toshiba, but when I tried to install it, it says that it can be installed with SP1 and I have SP2. So my question is, where can get the drivers for it?

  Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I read your thread on your HP laptop and the USB doesn't work does not correctly. Here is a link to solve the USB connections.

  I would like to uninstall all listed in the universal serial bus controllers list.

  Please note remove any and all USB devices and remove the memory card in the slot of the card reader. Disconnect all non-essential devices before you uninstall the controller Universal serial bus.

  Restart your computer, and then insert the USB device.

  Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant. Simply download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system.

• Universal Serial Bus Controller - not installed

  Recently, my hard drive started to fail on my HPE - 580t.  I moved my documents/pictures/etc on an external hard drive using a USB 3.0 connection.

  Replaced with a new Western Digital Black 3 TB hard drive and did a clean install of Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.

  Now, the computer does not recognize the external hard drive with USB 3.0 connection.

  Device Manager / other devices - show controller Serial Bus universal with a yellow sign - said "the rivers of this device are not installed.  (Code 28)

  When I select Update Driver is unsuccessful.

  Any ideas?

  I just installed windows 7 on my laptop Pavilion 15-ab066n, it came with windows 8. I have difficulties to find universal serial (USB) bus driver and there are also two unknown devices, I was on the site of HP driver and there is not a link for the driver for the chipset. Please someone know where I can find this driver or what the chipset is if I can get it directly from intel? or what are the two unknown devices, they are not player card or bluetooth as I installed the drivers for the HP site.

  This package provides the driver that allows the Synaptics TouchPad in the notebook models that are running a supported operating system. The pilot turns the touchpad General (for example, double-click and scroll) feature and provides a user interface.

  File name: sp71393.exe

  The second driver is directly from the assistance of your notebook page and this is certainly one you need for the device 6007.

  Try to install manually as follows...

  Go to Device Manager and click on the unknown device of 6007 requiring the driver.

  Click the driver tab.  Click on set to update driver.  Select her browse my computer for driver software option and find the folder of the driver that was created when you ran the file.

  This file will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp71811.

  Make sure that the include subfolders is selected and see if the pilot goes like this.

  Then restart.
