Three monitors on a Del Optiplex 7010

Hello

I am trying to install three monitors on my Dell Optiplex 7010. I have the graphics card integrated ports (2xDisplayPort, 1xVGA) with you and use a PCI card with two ports (1xDVI, 1xDisplayPort).

The three monitors I have are out 2xDVI, 1 output VGA x.

I have been using some converters for my monitors cable to the DisplayPort Concerto to connect them to the Ports on the PC display.

Both DisplayPort monitors work very well using the integrated graphics card, but the VGA is not. I was told that it is because of the converters I use.

I tried several different combinations to make it work with no luck: (.)

Could anyone suggest how I might get this work or what graphics card I would be able to buy to make this work?

Thank you

Boldonglen

Hi Shawn,

I've been in contact with one of your technical guys and we went through a few diagnostic checks to see why I could not as well integrated graphics card and graphics card dedicated to the work. We finally found a solution. Because I use Windows 8.1, I needed to update my BIOS using this link. Once I updated my BIOS, I went into the BIOS and enabled the multi-screen display box. Once we did, and I restarted my PC I managed to connect monitors for two graphics cards internal and dedicated, and they all work.

Hope this helps someone.

Kind regards

Glen Robson

The CPU is supposed to support three monitors simultaneously, but maybe the BIOS does not support?

In any case, many third-party video cards will support three monitors.

  • Replacement DVD - Rom is Dell Optiplex 7010

I wanted to replace my ROM with a DVD burner. This 7010 uses an optical drive that seems to be the size found in laptops. Most of the models of Dell would work for me?

All SATA optical drives laptop style should be consistent. I have a similar model (OptiPlex SFF 9010) and a standard Blu - ray drive installed without problem.

  • View the issue with a DVI-I got splitter to Dell Optiplex to adapt TV

    Good evening!

I work in IT and my understanding of these things is superior to what a novice and a part of the reasons why this question is so frustrating. It should also be noted that I am also posting this in Dell support forums to cover all the bases.
    Here is my goal:
To use my model of TV LED Panasonic TC-L47e5 as my primary and only monitor for a Dell Optiplex 745
    My configuration:
Dell uses a DVI-I've got splitter (DVI & VGA) as she went out to monitoring devices. I use a DVI (male) to HDMI (female) to connect on one of my HDMI inputs on the TV.
    The problem:
Until I'm the adapter to the DVI, I used the VGA with no issues whatsoever. However, once I plugged the DVI - HDMI setting, it was working fine until I unplugged the VGA it is connected to the connector on the back of the TV. The screen went black, even though it was on the HDMI input. I tried to update the drivers, configuration of the display settings, etc and nothing allows me to run the installation of DVI-HDMI without going through the connected VGA also. If I switch back to the VGA input on the tv I see black. But if I unplug the HDMI, I see the desktop. It's very strange, but it seems that thought the VGA adapter display takes over, which is insane, because the pc shows through a DVI - I connection separation. I scoured the internet for a solution and this little hiccup is driving me crazy. Any help you all can provide is greatly appreciated.
    Thank you!

    Hello Hunter M.

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

You need a video cable to make the physical connection. For a better image quality, you must connect to the computer to the TV using standard VGA ports or via DVI to HDMI cable provided your TV supports these ports.

I suggest to disconnect the HDMI cable and try to connect it buy, follow these steps.

    1. Turn off your computer and place it near your TV. Unplug the monitor, but leave the mouse and keyboard connected.
    2. Connect the video cable appropriate to your computer's output to your TV.
    3. Turn on your TV and set it to the input that matches the output on your computer. You may need to refer to the supplied with your television user's guide for instructions on how to do it.
    4. Turn on your computer.
    5. You should see windows displayed on your TV. If the screen looks stretched, or part of the screen seems cut off, you will probably have to adjust the screen resolution in Windows.
    6. If Windows is displayed on your TV, you will need to reconnect the computer to your monitor and adjust the screen resolution before connect you to your TV.

Running vista business. Thus, the PC does not display anything. I hooked up another monitor, changed the strings and still nothing. I also checked the original monitor, and is not the problem. Before the problem occurred, I uninstalled nvidia graphic display because the PC has not shown a graphic card (I just tried to clean up the system). Then I tried to install a linksys G wireless adapter. So, that worked, but then the PC got a blue screen, said a memory dump, and then the screen went black. I tried to restart, go to the bios, but nothing will be visible. Any ideas?

So, it would seem that, as well as the failure of the integrated graphics, you need to replace the motherboard.

  • Try to upgrade the video card for an Optiplex 7010

    Hi all

I searched the forums and found answers, but most are about a year old. I have an Optiplex 7010 with the following configuration:

    D7RF6
    1
    Processor, IVB, I7-3770, 3.4, 77 w, 4 c, E1

I realize to update my graphics card, I need to upgrade from my diet, and I'm fine with that. What I really struggle with, is what are the specifications of the motherboard on this computer. I would like to know what my bandwiths PCI-E are on it (IE 1 PCI-E X 16 1 PCI-E X 4?)

Also, I would get the best graphics card I can get to what will fit (for adobe work). I measured the space and wow is not much... most graphics cards are 10 "long, and the space, it seems to me is only a fight 7.5" before I launch into the box for hard drives. I assumed that I could cut out the box and free up space, but thrilled to hear what others use.

Also, I noticed there are only two PCI-E ports, but the 2nd is probably useless due to how close his pushed to the bottom of the case so I'm stuck with a 1 GPU option.

Keep all this in mind and without cutting into the hard drive cages, let me know if this could work:

GPU: MSI N760 ITX gfx card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127772

    Power: 600w http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438014 EVGA

Don't get me wrong, I would like a more powerful GPU (I push 2 monitors 1920 X 1080), but I don't see how I can get whatever it is also gone...

Feeding okay? It works for that?

Thanks for all the help and advice that you have!

Food looks good.  It is only 5.9 "long which is what you want for your snap custom mount you have on this system.  The MSI card is very short, it looks like a good way too.  Your system has a PCIe X 16 2.0 slot for the video card.  Speeds of the lower PCI X 16 slot is connected to X 4.  With only a 250 watt power, this system is all designed for video cards more if two small.  The 760 GTX is a powerful video card.  I see no need to put a video card premium that costs $500 or more in a Dell system.  To do so, make a custom version of a case of nice game for better air flow and cooling.

  • Second graphics card for Dell Optiplex 980

    Hello

My Optiplex 980 has an ATI Radeon HD 3450 with two connected monitors. In order to launch a third screen, I bought a compatible Windows 7 video card and installed in the PCI (regular PCI, PCI Express) housing.  Sort of, this has worked for a bit, but changing resolutions display or other activities led to empty screens. I removed it.

    By this thread: http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/desktop/f/3515/p/19400654/19935197.aspx#19935197

It seems that my machine simply does not support a third-party monitor. Is this correct? I have seen elsewhere that Optiplex owners have managed to install a 2nd video card.

I want to run three monitors at once, stretching from my screen (no mirroring). The Matrox TripleHead2Go is $ 300, too expensive, and I need to run the different resolutions on each screen.

I would try USB video but worry that it will put a brake on my CPU.

    I appreciate the advice.

    THX,

    Ben

AMD made called "eyefinity" video cards series 3 running watching the... a few catches: you must be able to insert the card in your case and your diet must be able to handle it... you didn't say what 980 you... He came in different sizes.  an another important problem, is one of the 3 monitors must be able to connect to a display on the eyefinity card port.

example of a full eyefinity card size you could run if you have the version of the Tower of the 980 optplex: www.newegg.com/.../Product.aspx

  • Can I add a memory for my Dell Optiplex GX280?

Can I add a memory for my Dell Optiplex GX280?  He is running on 2 256 MB. dor2. 400 CL3

    * Nothing * to do with Microsoft Windows, really.

One place of spec on (and to buy, actually) good memory of:
    http://www.crucial.com/

With the help of their memory Advisor...  I see...

    Type of memory: DDR2 PC2-5300, DDR2 (non - ECC)
    Maximum memory: 4 GB
    Slots: 4
Memory each slot can hold DDR2 PC2-5300 with a maximum of 1 GB per slot.

But with this machine, except if you use it just for the essential (and nothing more recent than the manufactured 2005-2006ish date topic installed on it) - I suggest not wasting money.  Do pretend, raise money and then don't buy it.  What to do for the next few months and buy some replacement $ 300 with twice the processor, three times the RAM and probably several times in the space of hard drive... ;-)

  • Replacement 250 GB C: drive in Dell Optiplex GX 620 with WD 750 GB SATA drive by cloning. BIOS sees the drive, Windows XP does not work.

I have 5 Dell Optiplex GX 620 desktop computers.  All are about 5 years old.  Had a hard drive failure so I replace the disks C: by secondary SATA disk cloning, disk 1 in the bios.  BIOS sees drive when Windows XP on two systems and not on the other three.  Have no idea why.  All rooms have all the updates of Windows and Dell. A bought WD Caviar Green drives.  WD has replaced three with Caviar Black readers and still does not work.

Level 2 support WD had response which was to creat Acronis True Image WD Edition BACK boot CD for the windows version of the software, (that I downloaded on www.wdc.com), boot to a CD and had the disc I cloned then.  I wish only the support level 1 guy was aware of this utility.

  • Vista won't work on dell optiplex sx280?

I just upgraded my pc after going in a pc shop, and the people there said I could update my dell optiplex sx280 computer which has windows xp, windows Vista. They said all I had to do was just to put the DVD in my computer and it will work from there...

So I put in, and the installation seems to work very well, there is no problem, until, AFTER the screen that says something like: keep your computer... (and the points move of one to three) and then it will just empty.

When I turn it on again, it turns on and has windows vista loading thing with green roof bar then and he'll just empty... as the screen is activated, but it is. just nothing...

I am able to fix this? or is it irreparable? I really need to use this pc, cause it runs the network/internet.

If I had to buy windows XP and install it... it still work? My laptop has vista, so I wanted to just the two to have the same system.

  • Dell optiplex 755 mt graphics card update

    Hi all! :))
I have an optiplex 755 minitour. I have a gt graphics card EN8600, I want to buy http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/R72501GD5/ it. It comes in the box? I know that low profile 7750 is the best choice, but in my country is not available. Sorry for my English when I wrote something wrong. Thank you for your answer :)

OK, so I ended up buying the card low profile Diamond HD Radeon 1 GB for my Dell Optiplex 755 minitour, well right off the bat I knew there would be problems, firstly the big black box is really tight against the card and because of two "transistors" just above the video card slot radeon hd7750 didn't come home. So I removed the top of the video card fan and he went, but when I got to the top of the computer screen, black. OK for the next, that I made that I had uninstalled my previous ATI Radeon X 600 series drivers and Yes, they were gone I also ensured that in my BIOS, this graphics card was elected s and when it does not work I went back to "automatic". Still does not work, the monitor says no signal it stays black. I tried to install drivers before I put the video card in and that has not worked, I tried to put the card in and remove the cmos battery to see if it would work and that SO it did not work, either I am completely frustrated and it was my birthday present and I was very happy to receive now really upset! I know I should of treated Tigerdirect! I bought the video card in DiamondMultiMedia on eBay, that they had a positive rating of 99% so I thought ok good deal lets roll. After all this, I called support and the tech told me as if I was a student of fifth to which I informed him that I had tried everything. He wanted to give me another card but I have to pay the shkpping return this Radeon HD7750 and then they send me another lmao graphics card I said no as I want my money back on my card! Do not buy this is not going in the Dell OLptiplex 755 MT
