I recently installed Arch on my X 240 and I was able to solve most of my problems by myself (and with the help of the wiki).

Now, I tried to change the thresholds of batteries and since there * 40 laptop I can't use tp_smapi.

I have installed acpi_call and tlp.

In/etc/default/tlp I put them in this way:

    # Main / internal battery (values in %)
    START_CHARGE_THRESH_BAT0 = 75
    STOP_CHARGE_THRESH_BAT0 = 90
    # Ultrabay / Slice / replaceable battery (values in %)
    START_CHARGE_THRESH_BAT1 = 75
    STOP_CHARGE_THRESH_BAT1 = 90

    and tpacpi_bat returns this

    # tpacpi - bat - g 1st & tpacpi-bat - g SP 1 & tpacpi-bat - g 2 ST & tpacpi-bat - g SP 2
    75 (percentage)
    90 (percentage)
    75 (percentage)
    90 (percentage)

But still I can't charge the battery more than 80% (which is the initial threshold. (he oscillates between no load and load with zero power)

  • ElitePad 1000 G2: 10 Pro Version 1511, threshold 2 update Windows crashes on 'features and drivers '.

Summer running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit for months without problem on my G2 ElitePad 1000; application Windows 10 updates throughout - so far. Yesterday, 12/11/2015, 1511 (threshold 2) updated version of Microsoft automatically downloaded and rebooted to start installation of operating system upgrade. The upgrade completed the first phase "Copying files" and began the second phase "Patterns and drivers", then stopped (paused) to 40% total progress/23% features and drivers progress with no other response. Only one stop 'hard' (hold down the power button / stop for at least 10 seconds) worked. On 'power up' the result was a "restore previous version" immediately, and subsequent reboot restored my previous login - as expected.

HP have a new image or update for Windows Pro 64 - bit version 1511/threshold 10 2? The update is put on hold due to a driver issue? Any advice would be appreciated.

Finally, a solution for me! I used Microsoft's latest "MediaCreationTool" (as of 11/13/2015) to download and create a "USB stick" (08/01/2016) upgrade support. Stick created USB contained more than 3 GB of content upgrade. Started my ElitePad in my 10 original Windows operating system upgrade, and then insert the USB in my ElitePad. Launched "Setup.exe" on the USB key to start the process to level, and left the USB connected until the upgrade is completed; several reboots of the upgrade. Once launched from Setup.exe, a menu background blue proceeded and displays "Check updates" for more than 15 minutes (check the updated drivers, etc.), and then proceeded to the display of the upgrade process (progress circle GUI). The upgrade has completed in 90 minutes without a hitch. So far, all programs and functions are intact. I guess that is focused on the HP drivers updated (finally) in the current construction of 1511, and/or the last created USB stick media works where Microsoft Update (via Microsoft Update servers) has a problem. For me, this solves my problem to upgrade v1511. I hope this helps others.

  • Message "Consider replacing your battery" Windows 7 and battery.

In the previous beta and Windows 7 RC, I received an error message saying "Consider replacing your battery" "there is a problem with your battery, so your computer might suddenly turns off".

I know that the battery is good. It works great under Vista, this isn't about 4 months, it lasts 2 hours +, and even in Windows 7, it will last for the same period of time as it did in Vista.

People say (as well as microsoft) that it's the BIOS and it must be updated.  Well, I got the latest BIOS from LG, which is dated in 2009, and that has not changed anything.  I conclude that it is NOT the BIOS because vista has reported estimated time left of the battery very well, even before the bios update, and I have the latest version of the BIOS.

I ran the command powercfg of energy and he said that windows was not able to determine the capacity of the battery, but if I install the batery LG application, it will tell me all the information on the battery.

I even went up to try battery of my friend who is less than 3 weeks, and there was always the same error messages.

Microsoft, fix this problem and if you cannot, then give users an option to take out / disable the flashing X which is on top of the power tray icon and remove both her "consider replacing your battery" and "there is a problem with your battery, so your computer might turns off suddenly" messages so we don't have to see that every day because the battery is actually GOOD and functioning.

  • Windows 7 adjustable threshold less than 100% of the battery charge?

    Hello.

I have a Clevo P170HMx which is a cell phone game impressive.

Probably the only thing I don't like is that my battery is always 100%.  I used my laptop plugged into an electrical outlet.

and knowing that to have my battery to 100% and always load will destroy the battery life.

My previous laptop was an IBM Thinkpad, and it had a maximize battery gauge allows you to define the allowed charge batery

threshold.  I got this game to start the load to 15% and stop loading at 20%.  I had this same battery from the time of purchase

until 4 years later, I got my new laptop, the battery remained in excellent condition with load capacity full not escape

as do other batteries when they stay at 100% and reload constantly.

Is it possible on Windows 7 pro to change the threshold of battery charge to stop less than 100% load to save battery life

life?  Or is it Windows software available for download that will make this recommended?

If Windows 7 is not able to do this, I would say something in an update service pack or the next version of Windows.

Thanks a lot for your help.

    See you soon...

    Hello

In normal circumstances as soon as the lithium-ion battery is full, a properly functioning charger will stop the charge and will only engage when the battery voltage drops to a low level. Most of the users do not remove AC power, and this practice is safe.

The latest Lithium-ion batterires have a limited number of Discharg/charge cycles.

You can create a detailed report on the State of the battery to double check the battery status.

    1. go to Start / all programs / Accessories. Click on the command prompt and select run as administrator.

2 in the command prompt window, copy / paste the following command.

    powercfg-energy-output %userprofile%\desktop\energy-report.html

    Press ENTER.

Wait for the command to complete (usually about 2 minutes).

This create a file named energy - report.html and place it on your desktop.

3 go to your desktop and double-click the file to open.

Scroll to the bottom for the battery: battery information section.

    You will see:

    Rated xxxxx

    Xxxxx full last Charge

    (Where xxxxx is a number)

4 to calculate the amount of full Charge capacity left in the battery split the value of the last Charge full rated capacity and multiply by 100.

For this example , use the following numbers.

    Nominal capacity 4400

    Last full 2937

Calculator enter 2937 and divide by 4400.

Multiply the multipliez le resultat result by 100 , then press =.

    The result will be 66,75

This means you have 66,75% of the nominal capacity of the battery.

    Tell us what you find.

  • Battery not charging - Thinkpad E531

    Dear Lenovo,

I have been using Windows 7, but I recently changed to Windows 8.1.

In Win7, I was able to install and use the Lenovo power management software, and I changed the threshold of 40 to 50% battery.

After I installed Win8.1, I realized there is not any software for Windows 8.1 E531 power management, so I can't charge my battery above 50%.

It seems that power management software makes somekind of related material change or do not remember my previous settings which I did in Win7.

How can I change the thresholds without reinstalling windows 7 and power management software?

Could you give me a link to a management software can be used for Windows 8.1 E531 Thinkpad power (which is 100% working)?

    Another solution?

    Thank you!

    Hi Tray86,

    Welcome to Lenovo Community!

  • W510 battery loading sill

Anyone know when and if a new version of the Power Manager will be the threshold of battery options?

I use the Power Manager 3.12 on a W510.  When I go into the maintenance of the battery on the battery tab I don't see any options to change the threshold.  There is a message at the top of the window that indicates that I should be able to change the thresholds from this window.  I think I read in another post that Lenovo has removed these options by mistake at some point and that they would return in a future version.  It would be good to know when they will return.

3.20 PM was released and he brings this option. (for my T510 at least)

  • Play games safely without harming the battery? (All attached)

I know that I should play high graphic games on my E430 edge on power without battery (not attached) cables in order to maintain its life expectancy.

But, in my region, the power source is unpredictable and can go off at any time, which can do harm to the BIOS of the laptop if it shuts down suddenly.

    My question is,

Is it possible to use Power Manager for giving me the opportunity to play games for hours while battery without hurting it? Power plans? ... Settings? ... etc.

    something will help you.

    Thank you in advance...

    Windows 7 or windows 8?

In windows 7, you can set the threshold of battery in the maintenance section of battery of the ThinkVantage Power Manager to start to load when it falls below a certain level of support (40%).

Best thing to do is to first understand some of our battery technology - check out this document:

To test your battery follow the instructions in this document:

  • Early MacBook Pro - battery (old and new) lasts only 45 min

    Early macbook pro 13 "

-Autonomy had become terrible, about 30 mins web browsing, the warning came on she was less than 80%, or whatever the threshold is battery.  To obtain the life expectancy of 6 to 8 hours.  I have owned since new, no spills or drops.  Its duty cycle is 8 hours on a charger, then 3-4 hours on battery every day of the week and another 2-3 hours on battery power the weekend followed by a full charge.

-New battery installed 2 months ago was better than the nominal capacity, coconut reports 6109 mah capacity

-New battery lasts about 45 min to 0% before web browsing and stops without warning or sleep.

-Reset each possible controller, SMC, PRAM, etc.  No change.

-Ran, he died 3 or 4 times and then fully charged hoping that it would be to calibrate itself, no chance.

-Inspect the process etc. but the CPU usage is very low, only thing of note is because I'm on 10.6.8 the standard memory leak safari is still there, so must be restarted regularly, javascript is disabled.  Firefox takes about the same amount of time browsing and has a blocker javscript.  I have not installed flash.

-Battery coco brings about 10 watts of power use while the battery is drained.  A quick calculation shows 5000 + mah used in 35 minutes isn't 10 watts so obviously, coconut is not reporting correctly.

-Refill after low drain lasts about the same as usual, about 2 hours if I use the machine, an hour or so if his asleep.  Lived a few Chargers because of pines stick and blend.

-The only other issue I noticed is from time to time with an external monitor connected so that the navigation in safari with Javascript, if you press some ads, the two screens in the black for a second and the computer screen will resume blurred with colors and lines, while the external display is fine. An error is recorded on the console (don't remember what it is) and then the screen is scrambled feeding, recorded increases of the coconut and the machine gets hot.  Nothing is noted in the activity monitor.  Safari shut down, sleep and wake the machine clears the display problem.  By disabling javascript, this problem is not triggered.

-My next step is to replace the charge Jack / ongoing in the Council, but I cannot find examples of this help other people.  Its pretty cheap but.

  • 5105 S701 battery recalibration...

Hi, I recently installed the SP2 for Windows XP and since my battery was going dead twice faster. Did some reading and followed these instructions for battery calibration.
    1. let the battery run down completely
2 - Remove the battery for 5 minutes
3 - Insert the battery and turn on the machine
    4. wait as battery windows re box calibration to come and follow the directions.

Well it never happened and now my small display led on the front of the computer (which has a battery level indicator) never matches the actual battery level and there is no option anywhere to put this back in the keybord factory or to re calibrate. Any help would be great :)

    Hi TJ.

It seems that your laptop is an American model, all drivers should be downloaded from http://www.csd.toshiba.com

For your problem tried to reistall the touchpad of your cd software driver Toshiba?

Also the Toshiba power Saver may be affected! Then also try to reinstall!

When you go to http://www.csd.toshiba.com - Technical Support - Tech Support Center - choose your laptop - support Bulletins - set the filter to "battery."

Then two bulletins are presented and perhaps could help you!

  • Satellite M30x-128: works on sector, but not on battery

First of all sorry for what is such a long post on my first shot! Laughing out loud

My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite M30x-128

For the past few weeks I have been charging my battery and then by running the battery until it must be recharged again.

This is due to making connection to the rear a little questionable and needing to be propped up to get it to load.

Then the other day the DC connector in the laptop was released in total (dry joints give up eventually). Before that, the battery worked fine but came down to about 8% of the power.

So now, I disassembled the laptop and resoldered the DC connector on the motherboard. Now, the computer works perfectly over your electric network.

Battery shown LED amber (as in loading) and then, after a few hours as usual, she went green. Great I thought, and so I turned off the laptop and tried to start it via the battery with any connected network.

The laptop will not light. This is fault conditions that I have:

With no battery in it works fine on sector.

with battery works fine on sector.

with no current does NOT battery.

Battery is detected by windows and when I remove the battery windows also recognizes and also shows as being fully charged.

basically everything looks like it should be ok and works ok, but it is not

    Hello

It sounds like power supply to electronic malfunction.
Or the battery is dead and the operating system displays the wrong information about the State of the battery. But it is very impossible. In this case, I assume that you did something wrong by soldering the connector cc.
However, it of not easy to say exactly what's wrong. I recommend to make the laptop service partner because he can start a diagnostic test and can give you a detailed response.

  • HP ENVY notebook: battery not charging!

    Hello

I recently bought a HP ENVY laptop, and I've updated my windows edition to Windows 10.

2 weeks ago, I noticed that my battery no longer works. It does not load: its says "plugged in, load" but its not charging.

now my battery is empty, (say 3%) and my laptop 'nine', which isn't that 2 months, does not come on unless it is plugged.

You have a solution to my problem?

PS: I tried to uninstall and reinstall the drivers of the battery from the Device Manager, but nothing happened!

Is it a windows update problem or a battery problem, although my laptop has only 2 months?

Thank you very much for your help!

    Hi there @Rodgee,

Welcome to the HP support community where you can ask questions, find solutions and get help from others in the community! I wanted to join you and help! I understand that your battery will not charge on your HP ENVY laptop PC. You mentioned you tried to uninstall and reinstall the drivers and that you are not sure if this is a problem with the battery of Windows updates.

Please make sure that the AC adapter cable is not plugged into a power strip, surge arrester, or secondary power source. It should be directly into a wall outlet.

There are a couple of documents that you can use to try to understand where is the problem. The first one I would say is the document of the battery is not Notebook Power or hold a Charge . If your laptop battery will not hold a charge, you better follow the instructions in this document step by step to fix the battery and see if it needs to be replaced.

You can also use the document test and calibration of the battery (Windows 8) . This will help you determine the status of your battery.

Have you tried to use the HP Support Assistant to download drivers and updates? Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant, if you need it. Simply download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that needs updating.
