• Y5070 CPU throttle problem

  Hi all

  My lenovo y5070 has a intel i7 4720hq clocked at 2.6 ghz with the mode up to 3.6 ghz (this is what its supposed to be). I noticed (using Task Manager) the fact that the processor will only up to 3.3 ghz under full load. I need to mention that the laptop is plugged in and power is set for maximum performance (with advanced option 'State of the processor' set to 100% maximum) on windows 10. There are no other options powersaving haven't turned on and I failed to find anything in the bios.

• Throttle Assy out of the crate and SFS flight controller

  I have a throttle stick and joy old SFS I want to use it on my new laptop FX.  I bought two Gameport to USB adapters to connect to the laptop.  I was told that I probably search for drivers. I plug them both, but they were not recognized as game controllers. There should be an option to calibrate both. I really need help because I'm not all that knowledgeable about computers.

  EagleKeeperF15, you will need to check with the manufacturer of your flight controller to see if they offer any drivers for Windows Vista, or maybe even test those designed for XP. Unfortunately Windows Vista can't stand the game port, so compatibility is not guaranteed. • RV220W throttling

  I have a RV220W that I want to set the throttling on. If upload us files to yousendit or a FTP server, it saturates the connection and stop basically all other traffic until the download is finished. Looking at the manual, it seems he should do, but does not seem clear to me. Can someone enlighten me on this subject?

  Hi Thomas, you are right that the router supports to limit bandwidth for download. As far as I recall, that's how to put in place-

  QoS-> WAN QoS profiles

  Enable

  Choose the maximum flow

  Then look at the table of the WAN QoS profiles, click Add. Name it whatever you want, select a priority. The next part is important, you must specify the minimum/maximum number for the maximum rate.  This value is Kbps. So if you have a 10 Mbit connection and you want your FTP to use only 200 Kbps enter 200 for minimum and maximum value. Save this setting.

  Then you link the profile to the host that is QoS > mandatory profile.

  Click Add, click the menu drop down click on the name of the profile that you did. Choose selector traffic like IP address range. Choose your whole subnet for example 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.254. Then choose the service in your case FTP. If the FTP service is not there you need a personalized first then choose this option. Click Save.

  Once you have saved everything, restart the router, then try it.

  You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

  • Tools > Options > advanced > General > Browsing: "use hardware acceleration when available.

  You will need to close and restart Firefox after enabling/disabling this setting.

• Why the addon "Firefox Throttle" is no longer available and is it a replacement?

  I need to be able to dynamically slow (butterfly) the speed with which my firefox downloads the content.

  It should be the tab Application and games. If you do not, upgrade your router to the latest firmware.

  Found the answer on my own. The WRT160N has a QoS feature by which you can set to low, medium or high priority access Internet. Not exactly what I want, but close enough.

Doc, I read your other post with the mods and I thought I'd share for all noobs, no need to learn the hexadecimal just follow my steps.

  And Yes, this removes the limitation.

  Download the custom start file bootx64.efi, and then copy it to X:\efi\boot\ and then placed in a USB key.

  Then turn off secure in the bios startup

  Then start with the USB key, you must be in a mini console. Then at the command prompt, enter the variables you want to change. for example.

  grub > setup_var {address} {new value}

  The mods.txt will show you the addresses and values to change, IE the address, the value by default, and then on the desired value.

  for example

  Here's my problem. I have my desktop PC running windows 7 Professional 64-bit (authenticated copy) connected wireless to a router connected to a modem cable (Time Warner Cable). I'm supposed to receive 40mbps 5 Mbps upload speed and download speed. This is where it gets strange. My home PC download gets only 2 Mbps but my upload is getting 5 Mbps. I thought it was very strange.

  Here's what I did:

  -J' I brought my laptop to friend, and his link windows professional wireless 7 to 40mbps on my router connection / Wireless even (which suggests that this is my desktop PC which is the problem)

  -My ipad and android phone on speedtests also get 30-40mbps when it is connected to the wireless router

  -J' got a new card wireless (thinking it was the USB dongle) and he's still only 2 Mbps (this is a link Wireless N PCI express - TP-4800)

  -J' tried a connection to the local network through my on-board GB ethernet to the router, still 2 MB/s download, 5mbps download

  -J' have switched Internet Options-> connections-> Lan Settings-> automatically detect the settings off (someone else said that fixed their problem) box

  -J' disabled carbonite, audio, anti-virus (sophos) and many other non-essential services in the services section of the Manager of tasks without result.

  -J' started in the safe mode and still download 2mbps

  -J' tried to add the following registry key based on someone of another experience DWORD32 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->SYSTEM->CurrentControlSet->services->LanmanWorkstation->Parameters->DisableBandwidthThrottling 1

  OK... so I think I solved the problem.

  Here's how. I have Accelerator disabled random networks AppEx and wam! immediately improved bandwidth. In fact, I can check the box on and it slows down, uncheck the box and immediately my changes 1-2mbps to 50mbps. No other changes have been made except this one.

  It's crazy. It is supposed to speed things up, but it does the opposite. Mabye it's just with my material, but if it can help someone else, I'll be happy.

• Throttling in vSphere replication
