Thunderbird not store my password of incoming ATT mail

I recently signed to ATT and I have account in Thunderbird, but you bird will not store my PW, I have to type manually whenever I try to retrieve any email att.net . Gmail and Comcast EMail work as adverstised, just ATT.NET is bad conduct.

Thanks for the guys attempt, but it seems that we all missed the most obvious solution. Simply, I deleted the email account and readded it. The process is painless and in the time, it has saved my password.

  • Thunderbird not to remember a password by e-mail

All of a sudden today Thunderbird requires that I got my password by e-mail before it can connect and send an email. I checked the "Remember password" box and restarted Thunderbird, but again, it will ask for the password. I checked in the security settings to display the password and my password is there, but for some reason any Thunderbird just decided not to use the information that it holds. I have run Windows 8 and haven't added any new software or updates in addition to the automatic antivirus updates done. Is it possible to get Thunderbird to go back to the way it was and does not require a password every time I restart it. I have no interest in creating a master password. Thanks to anyone who can provide a response.

The Delete method and to return the password usually fixes the problem, but discussions mentioned above deals with situations more "disastrous."

  • Thunderbird is not save my password even if I continue to check the Save password box. Fails to retrieve mail when I check the box.

Recently, I've migrated my profile of Thunderbird to a new computer. Everything works great, except that Thunderbird doesn't remember my password for the account. I am the only user on the machine, and I check only one account, so I don't want to set up a master password... I want just the program to remember my password for the e-mail account. I get the question 'Do you want to save your password?', every time I run the program... but if I check the box to do this, mail is not retrieved. (No error message, just nothing happens.) If I get the password without the box, the mail is retrieved. Even with the sending - I wonder for the time of password the first by session I have send a message. If I check the box 'Save password' send fails. If I do not check the box, sending passes.

This has been a consistent behavior for about a month now. I'm not just randomly in the password incorrectly. It happens that way every time.

That is what it is? Y at - it a fix for this? I want to just Thunderbird to remember my password.

    Try this:

Make folders and hidden files visible

    In thunderbird

    • Help > troubleshooting information
    • Click on the view file"" button.

a new window opens showing profile_name folder.

    • Close Thunderbird now - this is important
    • Scroll down - find and delete this file: key3db
    • Close this window - upper-right X

    Restart Thunderbird.

At the password prompt, enter the password and select the "Manager password use to remember the password" check box and click OK.

Note: If you use a product like CCleaner, then it's probably compensation info session and password. In this case, you will need to make an exception for files of thunderbird in CCleaner to stop cleaning Thunderbird.

    Please report on the results.

  • How can I change my password for connection of Firefox? (Not the master password for the Firefox links saves itself)

    (1) how can I change my password for connection of Firefox? (Not my main password for things Firefox stores)
    (2) how can I change my password for connection of Thunderbird? (Not my master
    password for things Thunderbird stores)
Just answer (Email removed by mod)

You don't have to log in to Firefox. Firefox is just a browser, such as Internet Explorer. Everything you have to do is double-click it and open it. It's like Internet Explorer. If you have some sort of password extension protecting your Firefox, it's different and you need to contact the developer of the extension.

  • Firefox does not load the password files

Firefox uses two files to load and store passwords:
    signons3.txt and sign. Lite
The two files are present in the profile and both are filled with relevant information of password. However, the password manager, which is located under Options, remains empty. When I opened the Web pages that require passwords, and which I know for sure that they are in the files of passwords, firefox does not work shall complete them boxes apprioriate. Logical, as the passwords are not loaded in password manager

    Additional information:
When I now save a password for a Web page, it does not store the information and fills the boxes on the Web page.
[This problem occurred when setting back the old profile [copy - paste] in the right folder I found through cards help-resolution of problems-show]

No I have not thought about it.
Make a copy of the entire profile.
copy the old information in the newly created profile

Took an old signons3.txt from backup
Has taken the last signon.lite that contains all of these passwords
Both of these placed files [Replace] in the new profiel

    and voila. Everything is back

  • How to lock my browser so it does not show my passwords.

I'm going to work on my computer and take it to a local store. I would like to please how to close my browser so it does not show my passwords for my accounts? (there is no real safe biggies) I'd rather just they didn't have the ability to snoop. Also, if my operating system is upgraded it deletes my browser history / passwords saved in Firefox? (I'm not concerned about the other browsers) Thanks in advance

You can protect firefox password store by setting a master password.

If your data are always there after an upgrade of the OS depends on how they do it - to be sure, you can save your profile on a usb key or elsewhere before you replace your pc - see back up and restore the information contained in the profiles of Firefox

  • store the password encrypted for PowerShell scripts

Is there a way to store the password for the Commect-VIServer cmdlet in a file? I tried to use the ConvertTo-SecureString cmdlet, but failed to operate.

    Thank you

    Toad

You are missing a few steps.

You have created the file in this manner provided

    $MyPswd = "xyz1234"
    ConvertTo-SecureString $MyPswd -AsPlainText -Force | ` ConvertFrom-SecureString | Out-File -FilePath "C:\pass.txt"

    You can convert like this

    $pswdSec = Get-Content "C:\pass.txt" | ConvertTo-SecureString $bPswd = [System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal]::SecureStringToBSTR($pswdSec)
    $pswd = [System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal]::PtrToStringAuto($bPswd)
    $pswd

Note that you must create and use the password with the same account!

  • Thunderbird is forget send password between messages.

Since last week, whenever I try to send a message of second or third it does not recognize my password even though I provided the first time. Sometimes I have to enter the password several times until he finally acknowledges. I can't tell if it's a question of Thunderbird or if the problem is with Yahoo, so I start with you.

    thanx

First tell Thunderbird to forget the saved password, then when it asks for the password next time, make sure the password is saved in the password manager.

    Details:

Thunderbird menu: tools: Options: Security: Passwords tab click the "saved Passwords" button (see first screenshot below) and then in the new window, click on the button 'delete all '. Click on 'Close' in this window, then 'OK' in the Options window.

When Thunderbird request you your password next time, make sure that you tick "use Password Manager to remember this password." See my second shot below.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe
