TIFF in InDesign

FYI - print a 300 DPI TIFF on InDesign out slightly pixelated and Tiff even turn off in the PDF format and place or print from directly from Acrobat Pro, won't the pixelation.

Disable optimized subsampling in your print dialog box...

as to why its optimization does not, well... it's usually a question associated print driver.

  • Export InDesign CS4 to TIFF (Win)?

To publish a TIFF file, file is searched.

How is it possible to export INDD in TIFF format in InDesign CS4 for Windows?

Well, you're certainly entitled to claim a new TIFF export feature.

If this will be a lot of support is questionable given that most use for format TIFF would be to place in a new document, I think, and ID already allows to place native pages as well as PDF, that have all two big advantages for anyone with type or vector objects. Why do you want to export a TIFF?

In the meantime, there is no direct way to get TIFF on InDesign, then you need to start with a format that can be exported - JPEG, EPS, SWF, FLA, or PDF, which would need to be converted into an editor, if not necessarily Photoshop.

  • Pie chart 3D with bevel deteriorates after export from indesign.

I was the creation of 3D pie charts in illustrator and then placing them in the form of illustrator (.ai) files directly in my indesign document. Pie 3D with no lighting effects and no bevel seem to be doing well.

To work around this problem, I exported the work as TIFF from illustrator and then placing the TIFF in indesign. It is a heavy workaround, increases the size of the file and also degrades the text under my camembert much.

  • InDesign Update - Administration representation von Tiffs, Bug?

    Hallo,
seit dem last Update gehoren sich folgendes problem. ICH platziere ein black-and-white Tiff in meine Indesign file. Richtigerweise der nun ist background transparent und das Motiv schwarz. So weit, as well.

  • InDesign TIFF problem

    Hello

I use InDesign (Adobe InDesign CC 2015 11.0.0.72 Build) to create a new document in

I want to import a TIFF with ZIP (deflate) compression file (my software created this TIFF file).

But ID gives me the following error when I try to add the image in the document:

"Error occurred during reading of TIFF image. Image may be damaged or incompatible. Re-save the image with different settings, and then try again. »

I'm developing a Java program that uses the latest version of JAI image io (jai_imageio.jar) and I tried all versions of this pot there.

I wrote a small test application to check that TIFF files with ZIP (deflate) generated with JAI io image compression cannot be opened in InDesign.

If I use other patterns of compression, it works very well.

If I re-record the TIFF file generated with Photoshop, also using the ZIP compression... then it opens correctly in InDesign.

Watching the news file-> RAW files in Photoshop for the two files I see that the re-registered file has some changed settings, such as compression.

For the original, it has this value: < tiff: Compression > 32946 < / tiff: Compression >

    And for the re-registered: tiff file: Compression > 8 < / tiff: Compression >

But I think that these mean the same thing.

    Clearly, Miss something here.

    So here's my question:

What can I do to be able to generate TIFF files with ZIP compression that opens correctly in Adobe InDesign?

    Kind regards

    Jan

Depending on the type of compression TIFF Baseline Tag Compression (TIFFTAG_COMPRESSION), code 259 (0 x 0103) 8 is the standard Flate compression of Adobe documented in TIFF Supplement 2 http://partners.adobe.com/public/developer/en/tiff/TIFFphotoshop.pdf

During this time compression type 32946 is described as ' is not part of the specification and are a little less common. So it is best to avoid less common non-standard codes if you want to ensure portability. Offering a choice is good, because Flate himself was late to the party, and a lot of software with the old code base will be only supported LZW.

«In addition, LibTiff adds support for some compression schemes that are not part of the specification and are a little less frequent.» Here is the definition of possible values LibTiff:

    COMPRESSION_DEFLATE = 32946;

    COMPRESSION_ADOBE_DEFLATE = 8; »

  • TIF / TIFF support of import in Indesign CS5.5 / CS6

    Hello

I can't find a reference for the limits of the type of TIFF file as Indesign CS5.5 / CS6 can support.

for example, Indesign cannot import a TIFF file with CCITT Group 4 compression / CCITT Group 3

I thought Indesign can support all kinds of TIFF and I was denied when I tried to import a TIFF file with compression CCITT 4 (black and white TIFF).

"Error occurred during reading of TIFF image. Image may be damaged or incompatible. Re-save the image with different settings, and then try again. »

Can anyone confirm this import TIFF CCITT Group 4 and CITT Group 3 compression is not supported (and Indesign can only import TIFF LZW, ZIP support or no compression) (Honours)?

It seems odd that Indesign adjustable CCITT Group 4 as a format of compression to monochrome images in the PDF export options export but does not support in its import options. Am I missing a plugin/update that can do this?

Also, can someone point me to a list of graphic images that Indesign can import (preferably with detailed information that he may have subsets that are not supported)?

    I can only find " " http://help.Adobe.com/en_US/InDesign/CS/using/WSa285fff53dea4f8617383751001ea8cb3f-6bdea.h tml ".

    Thank you

Beyond the information provided by Steve Werner...

It is true that Photoshop cannot save an image on two levels (i.e. single bit monochrome) TIFF CCITT Group 4 compresses (or group 3-compresses).

However, Acrobat Pro can save PDF as CCITT Group 4 compressed TIFF Group 3

And I confirm that InDesign cannot place a CCITT Group 4 or group-3 compressed TIFF image.

Ironically, Photoshop can open TIFF CCITT Group 4 compressed files but when simply save even saves TIFF compressed into ZIP files.

So, the quickest way for the placement of your CCITT Group 4 TIFF files compressed in InDesign is to simply open and resave the TIFF files in Photoshop.

Yes, a hack villain, but it allows you to work around this limitation.

  • TIFF images that I used in trial version are now blurred in the full version of InDesign CS5.5

I placed two images in tiff format (Visual poems, I did) in a file (a manuscript) using a trial version of InDesign CS5.5, and they seemed crisp and clear. Then I bought the full version of InDesign (the product of education as part of Adobe Creative Suite), has opened the file, and the images two tiff are completely blurry!

When I open the TIFF in photoshop and consider "actual pixels", they are crisp and clear. The resolution is 300. For images, I tried making a lower resolution, and that did not help.

    Any ideas? Thank you.

First of all, if you do not see 'reply' on the web page it means that you are not connected.

Version should have nothing to do with it, and if you actually use the same file for the link, on the same scale, the preview should be the same, assuming the same display quality setting. If you straightened the picture, however, which can cause a difference of display.

for continuous-tone images 300 DPI should be fine. the line drawings, it is low.

  • Colorful TIFF appears different color when exporting to PDF

    Hello world

I'm having a problem with the Tiff feature in InDesign CC.

I have a series of print drawings that use the same structure: a TIFF color in the background and a Duotone above this one PSD file.
Most of these models work perfectly. However, for some reason any two of them show a radical change in the color of the background TIFF when I export them to PDF printing. Please note that this is not happening when you create a PDF "Interactive", or another type of file with "Print" PDF.

Here is my file in InDesign:
    Screen Shot 2016-08-30 at 12.45.56 PM.png

And here's what it becomes when you export to PDF:

    Screen Shot 2016-08-30 at 12.46.25 PM.png

Any idea what the problem might be? I checked the source files in Photoshop and I see no difference between these and other pages that export without any problem. But I could be missing something.
I tried to recreate the same design in a new file, but continues to be the same thing.

    Pointers welcome!

    Thank you very much!

    Hello

I have a problem with Indesign: when I try to export a specific file in pdf format, it is stopped.

It does only for a single document (the one urgent, of course), I can export as pdf, the other, or export to jpg, but I need a pdf file because I hyperlink.

    I'm working on a Mac.

    Anyone has a solution please?

Use the half-blade method. Export the first half, in the case of export of the second half, not expoted that export of first half of the second half, etc., and you will find the problem page.

As an example - page 100 indd with page 73 problem.

    1-50-export ok

    Export of 50-100 - crash

    Export of 50-75 crash

Export of 75 to 100 ok

    Export of crushing 50-73

    Export of 50-70 ok

    Export ok 70-71

Export 73 crash - FIND IT

In my practice problem came from eps or tiff image on a page. Convert AI or psd and try again.

    Hello world

For all of you who reported the issue of the Colorizing of images 1-bit don't display correctly in preview modes, team Adobe InDesign recognizes that it is indeed a question in this release ID, and we want to let you know that the team has already identified a fix for this.

Colorization of these images appear correctly in the preview mode of the overprint/change colors/switching proof CMYK Preview work. Print to PDF works fine as well. So please continue to use these workarounds until put us the fix at your disposal.

  • Lo-res images appear in the exported PDF from Indesign files - anyone else having this problem?

I used Indesign for years without this problem...

But I noticed recently that many of these images (PSD, TIFF, or JPEG) that I placed in Indesign files are exported as pixelated, versions low resolution when I export for printing (PDF/X-1).

I tried different settings, but in each case, the image (which appears thin and sharp as seen in Indesign) came out like a pixelated mess blurred.

This seems to have started happening in the past months.

    Vector graphics are fine.

    Anyone else having this problem?

Or someone at - it a solution?

Also use some PDF parameters where resolution is not sous-echantillonnees at all.

    Turn off downsampling.

And I would like to test, when you export to PDF/X-4 would make to the resolution of the images.

Just to know, if something is fundamentally wrong with your PDF export feature perhaps.
