  The last sentence talking about version 4.0 of JDE. I think that would mean that I could not develop a java application on JDE 6.0 for Blackberry 5.0 version of the software, even if I do not use any new API to 6.0. However, it seems to me that it is a useless limitation. Could someone throw some lights on it?

  I'm going to agree with superdirt here.

  I have the 5.0 OS update of applications work well on OS 5.0, 6.0 and 7.0 of the OS OS phones.  I try not to recompile for levels of the OS, if I can, and so far I've been perfectly safe with OS 5.0 running on the later levels of the operating system.  So you should be able to get away with just using OS 5.0.

  Not that it is important for you, but I just thought I documents some historical information about level changes.  .

  As far as I know it 2 change cod in the file format, one to the 4.0 OS and the other in OS 4.2.  Therefore, if you want to run anything in OS 6.0 or above, it must be compiled in OS 4.2 or higher.  Again, I have applications compiled to OS 4.2 running on OS 6.0, without no problem devices.

  There have been changes to the API - the result is that the code that works in OS xx does not work in OS yy where yy is after xx.  I hit a few of them and have so far managed to rework the code so that it works very well on both levels of the operating system.  In general it is things that I do wrong anyway, as the older operating systems (from memory) are not as strict on when the event Thread must be used.

  The problem with OS 4.7 compatibility is an impact and to get more of this, for devices touch screen only, I compile using OS 4.7.  If an application that uses only the functionality that was available in the OS 4.2, I compile on OS 4.2 for non touch screen phones and OS 4.7 for touchscreen phones.  And everything works fine.

  "Native" is just C/C++ without using Qt and infrastructure of Cascades user interface on top of it. Unless you plan build your user interface ENTIRELY in OpenGL, you probably want to waterfalls. And even in this case, you can draw OpenGL cascading with the ForeignWindowControl content.

  HI guys, I had this problem, an OS10.3.2.516 for BlackBerry z30 leak was published on crackberry in the form of an auto-loader, I ran the autoloader and everything has been done perfectly as usual and my z30 was last updated, normally with the new OS. After a few days, I noticed that the operating system really is nothing new, even applications that use to work on OS10.3.1 no longer worked and it seemed chow much life dough very quickly, so I decided of the downgraded back to the version of the OS that I used before (OS10.3.1)... However when I ran the automatic charger for OS10.3.1 it starts and connect you to the device and after a second it offline and disappeared from the screen of the automatic charger, I tried several times and same result, I even tried other past Autoloaders I know that work and still the same result, I even tried to use knowyou to load the OS core and radio files (unchecked only install newer versions) and everything installs correctly , but after restarting phone that it is still the same OS20.3.2... I can't get this version of the OS on my z30... I don't know if the OS has blocked something on the device or what but it's really a drawback... the funny thing is that when I ran the same autoloader (OS10.3.2.516) I used to update my z30 do unplug the ADF, it runs the full update and did everything as usual , it's the only autoloader that seems to do the right thing... so please help guys I really want to take off from this version of the OS... I don't know what else to do.

On my phone when I plug it into my computer a pop up box appears on my phone and says it is connected to the computer, but the computer still does not recognize him.   Hi guys, my small business has recently moved to a new dedicated server and after works well at first, now I am unable to set up one of our mailboxes on any BlackBerry (torch tried, "BOLD", curved) device on any carrier (Rogers, Bell Canada and T-Mobile, AT & T in the United States). I have try the basic settings (email address and password), then when this fails, advanced settings (which are necessary as my email user name is non-standard; it is always username + example.com when the address is [email protected] and the mail server is mail.example.com). After a long "treatment...". "I am told"address incorrect email and password. ... If the error persists, contact "my server" the thing is, all of these mailboxes works fine in any other client e-mail with the same settings (Outlook, Thunderbird, iPad, etc.) and as I said, worked fine a few times on BlackBerry before now doesn't work at all. In a sense, I am the administrator of my server, even if I was on with the support of my hosting provider and they are confused as well. This problem does not occur on any of their other similar hosted servers, only mine. My question for everyone here is if there is some process, some address, something to the RIM that should be allowed to communicate with my mail server tha could potentially be blocked in some way, and if anyone has any ideas on how I could know if what is happening. My default mail server is Dovecot (including the BlackBerry "Fastmail' service, which worked fabulously before this started), but I tried Courier so unsuccessfully for the mail server itself does not seem to be the problem. I am happy to provide additional information or even a test account, if anyone has a suggestion!

• BlackBerry Smartphones using missing synch for Blackberry Storm - does not contact sync etc.

  I intend as a result tomorrow when my Storm (could actually be a couple of days, but I promise you, as soon as POSSIBLE). However, on your Mac, in the address book application follow these steps if you do not.

  (1) (to select the map that you created yourself (highlighted)

  (2) in the map menu, select make this card my card

  Just because you created a card with your info is not enough.

  Is it is regard to your other thread flexmail you posted? Why open multiple threads on the same subject? It's just confusing for those of us here to help sort through what has already been answered elsewhere.

  You cannot open a file *.exe on your BlackBerry. Those intended for the PC and install or unzip the files to install normally.  It is not necessary by train.

  If you bought or you plan to use FlexMail, I would recommend that you contact the developer of that product for support, because they certainly must have at the same time in their own software.

  OK, I'm new to Blackberry.  I am still new on the mac.  I installed pocketmac for Blackberry and its drivers.  He ran and tried to do a sync.  The 8330 and macbook could establish a bluetooth pairing but could not bind.  After the closure of pocketmac, I tried to re-open it and now it does not open.   I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times.  So, no, I'm stuck and humbly ask for any help, is there.  Thanks in advance.

• My torch for blackBerry Smartphones became a brick? Help.

  I have an AT & T 9800 I unlocked and use on T-Mobile and last week Thursday July 7, I've updated being two Xobni address book applications, the other was Twitter for BlackBerry v2.0.0.16. When my flashlight restarted after downloading the two apps screen basically everything went black and the red light was then the phone started to reboot again from the beginning. I don't have a day to the new os 6.0.0.600 so I know not who has nothing to do with it, but it's weird that on the eve of this os was released my torch has stopped working. I tried to pull the battery on a million times and leave for a day, then try to start it, now I've been leaving the phone plugged into a power source and just running and constently through the restart process, but never turn on completely.

  I've tried everything I can think of and I tried to erase the device through my BlackBerry Protect using my BlackBerry ID application, but it can not connect to my device. I can't seem to get hold of someone at AT & T who can help me, anyone know any options at all for this problem. Thank you.

  Mark, I'm sorry to hear about your device problems!

  First of all, let's see if we can get your BONES removed from the device by using an application called BBSAK, you can get here.  That que telecharger download on your PC, then plug your device and launch the app BBSAK.  I hope that BBSAK will recognize your device and we will be able to erase the OS so you can recharge.

  If it does not, this method, although a bit outdated, has been used successfully many times.  Takes some patience, but it works.
