Tips to jump ship?

I've been on the wagon to Apple since the //e but constant supply of a computer laptop GPU (inside a desktop computer) subpar for a higher dollar price made me.

For my first Windows computer, I bought a HP Envy 750se (i7-6700, 256SSD, 6 GB GTX 980TI) and an Acer XB270H for half the price of the iMac I was watching.

I still have several iPhones and an iPad in the household.

Anyone have any suggestions to help ensure a smooth transition?

Thank you

Hey guess what, I jumped ship,... well only in part.

Got an iMac 5 k and Final Cut Pro X.

Original 4 k edit filmed on my camera Lumix was child's play to do and made out in short order.

The iMac handles CC Photoshop and Lightroom CC average, much better than my 6 core Intel 980 PC that still has my installed CS5.5.

  • 12.4.3.1 iTunes crashes when syncing iPhone installed 6 9.3.5

As it is said, iTunes force crashes/closes unexpectedly when you try to sync with my iPhone 6. It is a problem, too I had with previous versions of iOS and the phone seems stuck after saving the phone, usually the last stage, or more generally during one of the steps: "waiting for items to synchronize." When I quit iTunes then reconnect the phone, it tends to go very well. That doesn't happen whenever I have clocks and is random. Was wondering if others have this problem and what could be done to remedy this.

What you do is now very well. "Pending items to synchronize" is sometimes, especially after a system update in a long process, in order to not jump ship too early. You can also try performing a reset, while the device is connected to iTunes, but iTunes recovery generally works better.

    ------

    Try these standard troubleshooting steps.

Reset: hold the Home and Power buttons until you see the Apple logo (10 to 20 seconds).

If this does not help, you may need to restore your iPhone: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204184

If your backup in iTunes, make sure that it is an encrypted backup.

  • How can I fix Firefox crashing whenever I have many tabs open?

I'll try to keep this short. I'm used to be a Firefox user for a long time... as he was released from first. I've always had problems with it crashing when given the many tabs open. I could not take more and jumped ship. After a brief period using Chrome, I decided to install the 31 version and try again.

I still have the same exact questions. The problem has persisted through generations of computer with the increase in power and memory.

Currently I am running an i7 4770 k with 32 GB of RAM and a GTX 770, SSD, etc.. I just installed Firefox yesterday after fed up with Chrome and some of its questions. Firefox crashed at about 6 - 10 times since then.

I'm a heavy browser. I have normally accumulate tons of tabs open, more than 100 + tabs open at the same time (maybe more, I've never counted). I understand that this may use a lot of memory, but I have a ton of memory. My use of the system does not exceed 30% never, but Firefox crashes regularly. I'm actually a little surprised that it seems worse now that she has never in the past. It crashes, I restore and it will crash again in 5 minutes. I don't have any add-ons installed. I had Ad Block Plus briefly installed, but I uninstalled that, once these accidents have begun.

What is Firefox, no Add-ons, no extra charges, nothing else to change its performance. It crashes constantly. It is perhaps just the last attempt before I'll look elsewhere.

Hello, Yes, it looks like an accident of lack of memory (probably due to many tabs open). you could try a port 64-bit firefox who will be able to use all of the available memory: https://www.waterfoxproject.org/

  • Assign the hardware key as a shortcut to the voice command

Hello, I've just jumped ship from the Iphone Razr HD and love it.

I do miss the home key on my old iphone in which, while driving, I could hold it then said 'Call home' and he would compose without having to take my eyes off the road. I love the voice command which is on this phone, but would like to make a hardware keyboard shortcut to work similar to the iphone. Is there a way I can attribute that to one volume or other button? I really hope it can be done because I have seen most of the phones have some sort of feature like this.

In addition, do not know why, but I couldn't find my serial number of phones in 'about phone'. I had to dig the box for it. I looking in the wrong place? Usually, this is where is the serial number.

Thanks in advance. I've always owned Motorola phone and am very happy to be back. The features of this phone are amazing compared to the Iphone.

  • Is this possible in honeycomb (aka Android 3) will not be open source?

    Ouch!

    http://www.androidcentral.com/Google-not-open-sourcing-honeycomb-says-Bloomberg

This will seriously put a bad dent in the cycle of development of Tablet.

    Article:

That pisses me off, and the realization that I can't do anything about it only makes it worse. What good is the unlocked bootloader on the Xoom if you can't build custom ROMs for the damn thing? Andy Rubin goes on to tell Bloomberg "Android is an open-source project. We have not changed our strategy." You could have fooled me, Andy.It gets worse. Bloomberg says Google executives have told manufacturing partners that Google will not release the source code, and instead the next open-source version of Android will be the "I" version. This in essence kills all third-party development for tablets running Honeycomb.

It is harmful for the less >.

I think you'll see a LOT of people to jump ship to the fruits if they cannot reasonably be developed with assurances of open - lying on the platform, they came to love just FOR that.

I sense a disturbance in the Force...

    alphabetaone,

I understand and share your concern, but what happens if Google is ~ 6 months away from releasing the next generation of operating system Android (code named 'Ice cream')? The word on the street is that ice cream will merge phones and tablets in a single operating system Android, so even our shelves would respectively honeycomb. In such a situation, is it possible that Google might want to keep more controlled application development until there? I can't imagine that they would change their overall posture on open sourcing, which is a major advantage over the competition. I wonder if it is more of an intermediate state to the Tablet market, and they intend to move into the open gear of supply with the introduction of ice cream (after all, who doesn't like ice cream?). They need all the edge on the fruit they can get, maybe the next OS relies on this Tegra 2 more power, we have all been here?

Just a thought that it might in fact be more to what meets the eye.

  • The upgrade of my hard drive

OK, so I need to replace my hard drive. I will move to solid state. I'm on a mid range decent Toshiba which needs a little booster shot. 7, updated to 8 and 8.1 and, more recently, 10.

    Here's my question:

With my previous laptop, I got the hard drive crash. Buy a new and got the message "Windows is not genuine" that eventually everything except my laptop brick. Microsoft contacted several times and just got screwed. They said that they could not validate my copy. I talked to a lot of people over several weeks. I bought the laptop for $1500 so it REALLY me upset that Microsoft screwed me over like that. I hate Apple so much, it would have been enough for me to jump ship. I bought my new laptop (Toshiba mentioned above) shortly after because I got a discount of killer through my University.

    My question is this:

If I get a new hard drive, I do get high again and not be able to have Windows? Or something has been put in place to prevent that BS?

As long as you have your product key code which proves that you bought, you can install it on any drive that you want to.

  • Infinity focusing problem on my SX700

I always infinity focusing problems with my SX700.  I have the yellow box indicating that the image will be sweet if taken.  This happens on at least 1 other point cannon and shoot that I know.  I can focus to several hundred feet but not 10 000.  Does anyone else have this problem?  I am at my end and ready to jump ship to another manufacturer if I can't get to the bottom of this.  I never had this problem with my G-10.  Could this be a problem with extreme telephoto lens Canon point and shoot models?

I have a Canon PowerShot SX150is and a Canon PowerShot G12, and I get the same questions. Here's what I learned. The problem with any long zoom point and shoot at the tele end is the amount of contrast detection that occurs to allow the development. With shorter zooms, the atmosphere is less dense, but more zooms to detect the density of the air. This is particularly noticeable on days with higher humidity levels, but would not have noticed the days of low humidity very dry. So the blur warning you get. The camera is not getting enough contrast to narrow the focus. No matter what brand you use, if the camera uses contrast detect focus, it will be the result. Not all use contrast detect, so be sure to check before you choose "deserting a ship."

I would keep the ISO as low as possible, and if you can manually set the focus to infinity, it should help. But this has always been a sore spot with me on cameras Canon PowerShot with how long and complex manual focus is. Hope this helps you understand what may be the problem you are experiencing.

If it is a commercial version, Yes, you can move computer to
computer as many times as you want, as long as it's only on a
    computer at a time.

But if it's an OEM version, its EULA it permanently binds to the first
computer, it is installed on, and it can never be moved to another.

  • Impossibility? HDMI, audio Multichannel + Applications PC Gaming/music

I admit I know little about the new audio application by Microsoft since Windows Vista. But everywhere wherever I looked, there is no information on the entire WEB, the knowledge base, FAQ, Microsoft, AMD sites, on the issue of the sound support for generic applications with HDMI or SPDIF even surround. Generic applications I mean applications that can multi-channel audio support, for example PC games, or software such as Adobe Audition.

In Windows, it cannot specify the number of channels of audio SPDIF/HDMI interfaces listed in the audio Panel, it is possible only for analog connections. But at that time you would have thought that the PC should catch up with the new emerging formats. At the point where the sound card takes the form of HDMI interface, say goodbye to the multichannel for applications other than playback of DVD/Bluray. Windows seems to only be able to pass through but not run the Dolby/DTS stream encoding. This translates into stereo at best for generic applications. I don't know if this is due to the lack of hardware or software.

Long story short, I had to do my HTPC dream which also manages the game on PC, when I read that the AMD Radeon HD6xxx series supports streaming of Dolby TruHD ILO / loseless DTS - HD MY surround sound, I jumped ship.

I bought an Onkyo TX-SR308 entry with HDMI inputs but none entered analog multichannel. I was hoping that I could connect my PC with it via HDMI and I have a sound surround without the need of special sound cards through my GPU HD6950. I am disappointed.

Today, it seems games use OpenAL to manage the sound with the new implementation of audio subsystem of Windows. Radeon does not seem to encode the audio DTS/Dolby games, nor there is any card market, not even Asus HDAV of Xsonar. Yes little reading BluRay streaming is supported, but I already have a dedicated Blu - Ray player. All I wanted is surround sound from PC, games or say playing audio files flac multichannel, I can hang my speakers hometheater with the Onkyo amp.

It's very frustrating. Anyone can offer a glimpse of how I can proceed with a minimum load on my portfolio? You can buy similar HDMI, but I find absolutely not all multichannel analog to HDMI solutions. None of the sound card for PC I think Kiss HDMI entirely on two passes for PCM multi-channel and at the same time compatible with the implementation of Windows to make Windows to know that this is indeed a multichannel sound card; or encode an analog string lossy Dolby/DTS 5.1, or even loseless Dolby TruHD/DTS-HD. For me, this is stupid, because it is much cheaper to make a sound card without DACs and just an FPGA to do direct PCI or PCI-E encoding while fooling Windows to believe that it is an analog audio card. I don't know who is responsible for this mess audio PC.

    Thank you very much

In fact, I got sorted. My card ATI Radeon 6950 can indeed handle multi-channel LPCM and act as a sound card, as long as the speaker in the Panel is set to 5.1, recent games have no problem with multichannel audio now (old games that use EAX can be a problem).

On my Onkyo amp, when multichannel is enabled on HDMI it will read Multi Ch. This changes as I have change as well the speaker setting.

  • BBM BBM needs to improve the features BBM for BB users.

As my username says, I'm a diehard blackberry user.  While everyone has jumped ship to android, I stayed.  I loved my curve and when she started to speak in tongues (ie. type gibberish, open and close programs on its own, flip between screens) rather than switch to nokia because my rogers plan covered I paitiently waiting for the white Q10.  I still love my Q10.  I feel that BlackBerry makes excellent products that are functional and durable.  However, my problem with Blackberry is in the way they treat loyal customers.

While all my friends got Galaxy phones... I stayed with my Q10.  When the BlackBerry has launched the bbm4all campaign... I urge all my friends to do despite initial glitches... and now I'm frustrated.  Despite being faithful and have a BB, do my part to help local businesses... I get ads and I am unable to use timed messages or retraction of message, I am unable to create a personalized PIN.  I get constant reminders to the BBM rate, but my opinion on BBM worsens when I get a an announcement from the company in the form of an invitation BBM.

Despite having a BB and be a loyal user of BB from research in the days of movement... Why do I pay every month to access features such as message retraction which, until the OS update, I got for free?

I am a student, I don't use BB for his safety, I use my phone to take pictures send SMS, BBMing, check the weather and occasional magic: Realms... I love my Q10 for the physical keyboard and a sleek design... but why blackberry treat BB users and users non - BB as equal?  Apart from the physical keyboard and security, which makes special BB?  BBM was a huge sale for me, when they open to all BB got less than special, but I thought that they would keep him the BBM BBs usage as an improved for the BBM version released for apple and android.  I assumed that this is when I noticed that the video chat was only for conversations from BB to BB.  Although this feature is nice, it is not terribly useful when 80% of your BBM contacts have no BBs.

I got frustrated when I type wrong message to someone and I can't retract without having to pay a monthly fee.  I've been frustrated when I get ads when I use the BBM instead of Hub app.  I understand that BB is a society and that this money is the priority but why can they not take care of their own?

My suggestion for Blackberry is to give the BBM BB users with improved features.  Yes, the video call feature is nice, but it isn't terribly important for me.

For non - usersm BlackBerry BB should do the following:

    • Slightly higher load ^ monthly fee for subscriptions for timed messages/photos
    • Slightly higher monthly fees for subscriptions for retraction of message
    • Require a slightly higher monthly fee for custom pins
    • Slightly higher monthly fees for the removal of ads

BlackBerry should do the following, as a thank you to those who is loyal as me...

    • Delete subscriptions in the next version of BBM
    • Allow unlimited timed messages and timed free photos
    • Allow the free unlimited message retraction
    • Make pine customized a tax only once
    • Remove ads for free in the next version of BBM

Due to the ratio of BB users for users non - BB, I think Blackberry skimp on about $24annually * / user BB would be worth when trading for an increase of the customer satisfaction.

Loyalists slept with Blackberry through everything and I think that the company sometimes forget that without BB users there would not have been a business today.  I think Blackberry users BB treatment does not reflect the dedication that we showed the company and I don't think what is right.  Please like this post if you agree.

    Thank you for your time,

    Haley

↑ $1.29, according to a poll of users non - BB in my BBM surveys list was considered a fair price

    * based on privacy and without ads monthly subscription price of $0.99

  • BlackBerry Smartphones has tried to upgrade the OS to 4.5, now brick?

Hi all! I'm new to BlackBerry devices, and last week, I bought a unlocked Curve 8320 from eBay. I really loved. I jumped ship from an iPhone because I was tired of not having certain characteristics. I came across an update for the OS version was 4.2. I wanted to go ahead and get upgraded to 4.5. I consider myself an advanced and proficient computer user. Currently, I use my MacBook, so I pulled up from Parallels and installed Vista on a virtual computer. I found an article on the upgrade and got the update 8320M_PBr4.5.0_rel108_PL2.7.0.78_A4.5.0.81_Rogers as my carrier is AT & T and the phone was originally locked to T-Mobile. I guess I didn't have the update from T-Mobile as I feared that could re - lock the phone (please, correct me if I'm wrong but, as I do not know this for sure). I have saved everything and began the process of update with Desktop Manager v4.6. Everything seemed to go well until the point that it seemed he was installing the new software.

Now my BB is glued to a black and white screen, at the top "Platform BlackBerry 2.7.0.78" is written and there are some applications written in text just below. Address book, alarm, calculator, etc. If I try to click on one of them, I get an error or another. Desktop Manager is no longer able to recognize the device and MissingSync on OS X tries in vain to connect and synchronize with him.

I have my iPhone to fall back on now, but anyone can guide the in how I could restore it to its previous state or get the DM to recognize if I can retry the upgrade?

Hello and welcome to the Forums of Support BlackBerry.com.

I didn't update from T-Mobile as I feared that could re - lock the phone (please, correct me if I'm wrong but, as I do not know this for sure).

Who will be no way, once unlocked, always unlocked and nothing can change that. Similarly no matter WHICH carrier OS for THIS model will work, as long that delete you the vendor.xml file before the upgrade.

Your BB is very probably not brick. First of all, I recommend unplug BB from USB and restart the Mac and then reconnect the BB to the USB port, then running Vista, reopen DM and see if you can log in again.

If this isn't the case, I recommend that you find a friend with a PC.

  • New design of the ESX environment design

    Community,.

I could use help on the thoughts, currently there are a few projects concerning the upgrade of components of storage network/etc but I thought on a few different approaches.

Our installation of 175 5.1 ESXi hosts is currently roughly:

    CPU/memory:

According to the model, over the life cycle, we have about 4 different models active (same HW provider), everyone has the storage/NETWORK card configuration below:

    Storage:

2 x 4 GB FibreChannel (connected to different fabrics)

    Network:

    NICs 8 x 1 Gbps

-2 x vMotion (on different switches)

-2 x management (on different switches)

-4 x VM traffic (on different switches)

So what to do in the future? Currently the network is mainly related to 1 Gbit/s because the team of specialists who are not being updated again.

It is not on the creation of infrastructure plans converged etc, but I thought about it.

We have no real problem that will push us in one direction. Because the fragmentation of disciplines each team has a different point of view how to do things.

    Case 1

Keep the current design, but upgrade the network components and storage as needed in the future. It's our way of work now.

    Case 2

Take a look at a converged infrastructure solution? BladeCenter / infiniband?

    Case 3

What network virtualization (VMware NSX) with a convergent solution (or not?)

A few things I want to achieve (no operational requirements (yet))

    -Performance increase/expand

    -Demanding latency

-Lower costs (cables, DC, power, cooling and administration space) in the future

What are your experiences, problems, things to think about, what not to do?

I Don t necessarily need a full explanation (would be nice of course), but if I can get some new thoughts or directions from your answers I could dig into it a little deeper myself. I was wondering based on experiences if it's worth to put more effort into it.

Do not worry about the investment, if it is interesting to build a business case that can help achieve savings, management etc. it might be useful.

Hope to hear from you guys

    Hey Wh33ly,

Breaks down each section a bit here:

Server hardware (CPU/memory, reduce cables ect)

-From this point support CPU/memory is still any provider you have access.  However, the obligation to reduce the latency and cables, you may look at some converged computer worms, or something like a Cisco UCS chassis.  The Cisco UCS chassis has two FI who are sitting on the top of the grille that act as the brains of the operation.  At the rear of the chassis, you will have two IOM failet (failet of input/output) these are the external ports for all blade chassis.  Most configuration I see usually have 20Ggbps coming out of the AKA 2 cables by IOM goes up to the FI or 40Gbps, up aka YEW 4 cables.  Nevertheless the frame Cisco UCS reducing much cables as only cables coming out of the chassis are those of your IOM modules.  The cables only leaving this rack will be those from the FI to your basic network infrastructure.  With this in mind, any Center of blade will usually reduce your cable management and it will also reduce traffic on your network East/West as live all the blades in the same chassis.

Because the calculation is similarly any provider you are with, questions you would have to ask is what are the problems that this chassis resolved during my current infrastructure?  This problem must be a value of extra time and resources it will take to install the new infrastructure and migrate on.

    Networking

-When it comes to networking, nothing wrong with 1 GB but 10 GB price sank so quickly become the default.  Also with 40 GB coming down the pipe very little time this should also lower the cost of 10 GB which can make a little more progress a best migration plan.

-10 GB also reduces the cables that you get 10 cables with a value of 1 speed

-If you decide to go all the 10 GB, you want to consider migration to the VDS switches.  Virtual distributed switches offer many benefits and also allows you to use the new control of NIOC to control how each group of fate as 10 GB ports.  So now, you can define each group of ports on the amount of traffic it gets and how much stock it.  This gives a lot of flexibility

-NSX, NSX is ideal if you want to be able to control your VLAN s, Firewall, VLAN, Speration through Vmware / vSPhere.  This gives a huge amount of automation, flexibility and free service capabilities, but it does NOT increase the speed.  Even with the NSX your sub with connections are always going to be your performance brand bottle neck or a bench.  So if your running all the 1 GB of network even if you move to NSX will always only clocked you at 1 GB.  Yes NSX will give you more flexibility and may also reduce some of the East/West traffic, but your still limited to your physical hardware.  In this spirit, I would say that the biggest assets NSX is if you're a provide service, multitendcy environment, or you require the ability to create a VLAN ect so automation, scripts or self service portals.  Like anything else, I watch NSX as a tool, and if it's the right tool for the job then I use it, if not then I don't have.

Long story short, networking is quickly moving to 10 GB, there is no direct NEED to jump ship as soon as possible, but its something that you might want to look into the establishment of the budget over the next year or two to define yourself to easier transitions.  10 GB also allows backup of the computer virtual a LOT faster that can help with RTO, RPO requirements.

    Storage

All boils down to how much space do you need and how much performance do you need?   One thing is for certain that the SSD is here to stay and will be the future of the SAN.  Almost each SAN vendor now has a solution at several levels, hybrid solution or any SSD solution.  The nice thing about all SAN SSD solutions is that you no longer have to spend cycles administrative construction of storage pools, tweaking them, with groups bronze, silver, gold, for performance.  This all goes with all SSD without that everything is super fast.  That said, there are also many storage solutions converged to come, the local host caching and VSAN type stuff.  It is all the pressure put on businesses in SAN to find ways to be more innovative to make storage and lower prices as its much cheaper to buy 3 guests with drives then just put some kind of Storage Virtualization top layer all to share the lun/storage.  In the next year or 2 you will start to see the space of SAN saturated with many small businesses that make the converged storage, VSAN and cached local solutions duly lower price points.

When your storage decision goes forward, you want to go with the SAN/supplier who offers the best performance for your money and gives you enough space for future growth with IOPS / s.  Tpyically when I size a SAN, I put 2-3 years worth of memory buffer in there for consumtion IOPS / s and space, like the SAN buy is one of the biggest, a COMPUTING organization must do.  If this is done on arrival of the IOPS / s and badly or space in a year it's hard to go back to the honeypot fruitful asking more money again, but also all SSD SAN are that they are still a bit expensive and not always in the budgets of peoples.

    I hope this helped,

If you have any questions please let me know.

  • Final Cut Pro is obsolete?

I use Final Cut Pro to my video editing for only these past 10 years. I'm not too sure if Final Cut Pro is obsolete now while I was looking in other programs and it seems that Premiere Pro is the newest software video editing there? Does anyone have information about this?

Are there others here with more experience. Long story short... when FCP - x released it ticked a lot of publishers, they jump ship. Many came to Premiere Pro, more decently happy. Using a NLE is similar to the use of a hair brush. Like you could drive me crazy... everyone's mileage ALWAYS varies. PrPro is one of the biggies in the houses after pro however.

  • Why broadcast limiter disappeared and why this constant reinvention?

My project files have now a 2014 of the first version, a version of 2015 and a 2015.2 (2nd update whatever it is).  2015 stank, it has totally messed up my audio which kept falling, my colleagues were moaning about Adobe reinvent a product perfectly work in something of so buggy it was unusable at times.  I guess that the tire was when I sent a spot for the clearance of TV, three times I have sent and three times he's been bounced. I finally managed to talk to an engineer who told me to use the Broadcast limiter, which I explained Adobe advised (in their wisdom) in favor of the video limiter (which does not work for these purposes; Yes Broadcast purposes!).  His advice; return to the 2014 version and use the Broadcast limiter (Adobe isn't this ring alarm bells?).  I tried the limiter standing with different settings, Yes, I know that you can set it to 'Intelligent' just Chroma, Luma only or the other two and that any combination under the Sun, yes I tried to limit to 0% and 100% not the default, -30% and 130%, I even tried an upper limit of 97%, it has not yet been QC.  So I decided to download the version of 2014 and guess what, I couldn't open my project because the first isn't aaaargh backward compatibility. A quick search of your forum and the first message that I've read is a guy who has been sending tasks for years using the diffusion filter and now they fail, even irritable QC that I landed said "if it ain't broke...". "so, they think that's crazy and these people are the reference on what we do in this industry.

That is that with large Companies, they arrive at a point where they think they can do what they like because they own the Lion share of the market, then they wonder why everyone jumps ship when a better more stable platform, the arrogance (or is it megalomania) is remarkable.  I would rather have a reliable product that works that this constant need of reinvention, do you really think it makes you love your customers, have you stopped to consider why people stayed with windows 98 for so long before going, or why Windows 10 is now be delivered free, by the love of God wake up, stop and think before send us these terrible updates?

It is just a forum for users.  If something does not work, you must inform the PP engineers directly.
