TMS - TCS booking bug?

Hello!

A client of ours brought something to our attention that I could not find money for.  When a conference is for TMS and you include a content server, the e.164 alias that TMS will use to connect to the content server gets changed after saved the Conference.  Please refer to the attached picture for an example.

This was seen on the following combinations;

TMS 13.2, TCS S5.0

TMS 14.3, TCS S5.3

In each case the TCS is registered in the VCS as a gateway.  The standard booking > page new conference has been used.  It didn't matter if one personal record alias was used, or a system generic alias record.

One thing to note: If a H323 ID has been used instead of the e.164 alias, the obtained address was not changed.

Has anyone else seen elsewhere?  Y at - it a bug that I missed?

Thank you!

It's not a bug, I remember reading the documentation for it, but I don't remember where...

According to the doc, TMS will create an individual alias for each to the application so, expected the TCS drop out for a reason, or the Conference being disconnected, it will, when reconnected, continue recoding to the original file, rather than create a new record. Thus, you will end up with just a single file instead of two or more separate session files.

If my memory is good; This only happens when the TCS is configured as bridge as opposed to Terminal (not 100% sure of that even if.)

In the chart below you can see the difference, however, is as well as, in this case, the first two digits in the two aliases are the prefix of the gateway.

  • TMS by booking with MCU in cascade

    Hello

My client has questions about booking TMS, they have 2 microcontrollers (4205,5320), CTS and 14.2 TMS endpoints

They want to use 5320 as the main rooms for booking, but if the resource on 5320 is not sufficient for the booking then cascade 4205 to increase capacity.

I found in the admin MSDS distribution routing guide (low cost print routing and better) but I'm not sure this device meet the requirement.

The Administrator's guide also said "Different MCU models using cascade when manually configure cascade is not supported in Cisco TMS"

Note it doesn't you different medium cascading of MCUS in TMS is not supported?

Anyone try this before please advice.

    Thank you.

    Kind regards

    Wassila

You can't necessarily force TMS to use a 5320 on a 4205. Remember, TMS treats all the ex-codians as the same, so it is not defined which, two bridges, TMS will prefer.

Also note that MSDS does not automatically cascade; cascading always requires the invention of the user. The user must explicitly choose a distribution algorithm.

  • Protocol default conference when booking through TMS?

trying to set up a conference using TMS to book and add participants.

the booking works very well, I add my end points + the MCU.

Conference starts... but endpoints do not join.

When I look at the MCU - I see that this is a conference H323 - but my environment is exclusively SIP... then do not join endpoints.

tried to create a model of default conference where I could put the default call Protocol - but I do not see where to set this variable.  Given a task in TMS under MCU settings where I could uncheck the box to allow incoming and outgoing H323 composition... still do not get connected participants.

someone knows how to do this?

    Thank you
    Paul

HI Paul.  If you can verify something for me on your endpoints in MSDS.  Go to systems Navigator and choose an end point.  Once he arrives, click the System tab.  Then click on change settings.  Scroll down and you will see the MSD booking Options.  Uncheck all the other than SIP and Save.

Do this on the same three endpoints, book again and let us know the result if you can?

    Thank you.

I can access findme configuration but Planner smart would not launch with an error message, otherwise, it would probably be a java problem (from what I've read in the forums and guides). the message is

There was a problem connecting to the server scheduler: could not send message.

No idea what this message is linked to?

    Thank you

    Cecile

    Hi all

Indeed, it is a bug. Unfortunately I do not have a reference of bug for you right now. Once I have one, I'll let you know.

The problem comes from different server configurations regarding the use of the address of loopback... which means in this case, we work, they do not use the loopback address on their server. For example and looking at the IIS logs and when the loopback address is used, you should see something like the following on the SS:

    2013-05-28 09:03:25 POST /tms/external/booking/bookingservice.asmx 127.0.0.1 -------127.0.0.1 TMSScheduler 200 0 0 31

In the case of the customer, they see the following:

    2013-05-29 15:50:48 192.168.x.x POST /tms/external/booking/bookingservice.asmx - 443-192.168.x.x TMSScheduler 200 0 0 31

Note the return of the local IP address compared to the loopback address.

In your case, I'd take a peek in the IIS log after you throw the SS error... and see if it's what you see.  If Yes, then it is the same problem and this is the problem we are fixing... which means that we will check not only for the loopback address, but the local IP address as well.

    see you soon,

    Dale

  • Int TCS with multiway call recording

    Hi team,

We have a network of C20, VCS, MCU, TMS, TCS.

We want the user to perform a recording of calls. The procedure we follow is:

    (1) endpoint A calls the end point B

    (2) point endpoint A Endpoint B highlights waiting

    (3) point ending A call recording allias

    (4) end A point selects JoinCalls

    Call failed

Endpoint one can see the MCU Conference Conference MCU is created on the MCU join fails, but the end point A ends with 2 calls on hold and other assets.

If we make with the procedure to join the calls with 3 endopoints it works OK.

Could someone help me shed some light on this issue?

    Kind regards

    Federico

Hi Federico. Sounds like you using Multiway on VCS and MCU. Is this fair? Now TCS does not support RouteToMc or SIP refer to the transfer. I need to see the SIP to make sure. TCS but currently does not support what I know. You may be able to use the conductor if you have deployed in the environment of the user. I hope this helps.

  • TMS reservation user

    Hello

I managed to configure users for booking no problem. My question is now if there is a way to separate groups that can only see their end points, but be able to change (as in add their final point) to a conference created by another group.

    For example:

Turtle group has 3 end points. They can see their three end points in TMS when booking. Turtle group creates a conference for the TMS group and email Bunny to join the session.

Group newspapers rabbit in TMS and can only see their end points, but they can see all the available conference. They open the turtle Conference and that you can choose from their list of endpoints to add. They add their endpoint, save the Conference and move.

The problem I'm faced with this scenario is either one) you use permissions so that this rabbit group cannot 'read or book' the turtle group folder. However, when they are going to save the Conference of the Group of the turtle, it is said that they have no permission to set the end point of turtle.

If I put rabbit group permissions cannot "read" turtle group, but they can 'book' turtle group. However, this means when they go to add their endpoints in the Conference, the rabbit group can see all the endpoints of the Group turtle.

Is there a way to get around this? I want to put it in place so that multiple groups can add their points to end at any conference without penalty and then a super users group go through after and approved sessions. The part of approval I down, but the separate groups is the problem.

If you want someone to be able to edit any conference with any endpoint, not on their part, they have permissions of booking for all systems that are planned at this conference.  The user editing of the Conference will see all end points, the read permission is when you add an endpoint and does not affect that is already added.

  • Question about MSD - TP server connection

I am currently enabling SIP on all my endpoints TC6.2.1 due to problems I had, as stated in this thread: https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/4079991#4079991

All the endpoints have always active H323.

In TMS, all end points are allowed incoming and outgoing SIP and H323.

Whenever I have order a conference, it always shows H.323 as the connection method, even if the SIP is enabled.  I expect to say SIP-H323 as it can connect via a protocol.  Note that the call still works, but if I encounter the problem described in the thread I linked above, he is H323 to SIP Interworking SIP to SIP instead.

If I uncheck the boxes to H323 incoming and outgoing on the endpoint in TMS and book a conference, the connection and then past to SIP and works very well without needing to be interoperability.  This proves to me that MSD knows endpoint can make and receive SIP calls.

Can someone tell me if this is expected behavior, or am I wrong configured something?

TMS version is 14.2.2 conferences booking on TP server 3.0.

Yes, I think that its just TMS still preferring h323 and having no option to replace. (think its still not in 14.3.1)

There is a bug to a feature request, see CSCud54387 and

    https://supportforums.Cisco.com/thread/2192501

I would ask your Cisco Partner / Contact to file a feature request for you to have an option to prefer the SIP.

Other options would be as you described to disable h323 selector output for this endpoint.

Unfortunately, it still seems to be no pattern to change in one batch, on all systems, so if you have

'little more', its quite a pain.

The other option would be to disable h323 on endpoints or to revert to a h323 who you know now

    works for you...

  • EX90 two autonomous with the public IP address can make video calls among them self on the Internet or not?

    Dear expert;

I am very new to VCS and TP Cisco.

We implement now presence Cisco TV with VCS - C, VCS-E TMS, TCS, MCUS and endpoints with Jabber in a single edit.

and in another configuration CUCM 10.5, UCCX 10.5 IM & P, Jabber with some 10 officers.

Now the question is in our building on the 2nd floor we have an EX90 and on the 5th floor an EX90 and on local network, we can make video calls using the IP address.

In the same way is it possible to make a video call between 2 devices EX90 (both have public IP) present in a location different in the same city on the Internet without the participation of VCS - C and VCS-E.

    It's the client request :)

    Concerning

    Paiva

Yes, but leaving these systems outside in nature with public IP addresses, leaving you are vulnerable to a number of questions. See for example http://www.videonationsltd.co.uk/2014/11/h-323-cisco-spam-calls/

    https://supportforums.Cisco.com/discussion/12340591/nuisance-h323-calls-SX20

The offers above with H.323 calls, in addition to this, you will encounter similar problems using SIP where the systems will be analyzed by tools such as SIPVicious

Strange, I've marked this bug as a 'visible customer' a week ago. I know that it can take a day or two before, it can actually be displayed by partners/clients, but it shouldn't take a week.

In general, mark us (at least in the world of Cisco TMS) all new bugs as a 'visible customer '. However, not all bugs old Tandberg bug tracking system have been replicated to CDETS yet, that's why you sometimes see bugs which are not visible in the Bug Toolkit.

    It's the RNE for CSCtt19457:

    ----

    Symptoms

The upgrade of Cisco TMS to the version 13.1 or 13.1.1 fails. The Databaselog.txt file shows a timeout in SQL Server:

    2011-10 - 03T 15: 37:53 to execute SQL block 1349, starting at line 30465

    2011-10 - 03T 15: 38:39 error in UpgradeDatabase unhandled

2011-10 - 03T 15: 38:39 timeout has expired.  The delay before the end of the operation or the server is not responding.

    2011-10 - 03T 15: 38:39 at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection.OnError (SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection)

    Conditions

The issue was seen in facilities at TMS using SQL Server 2008 and occurs when the stored procedure "NET_Utility_CheckForAccessCopyPasteErrors" is installed. Installation it would normally take about one millisecond, but when this occurs, it takes more than 20 seconds.

    Workaround

Upgrade SQL Server to the latest service pack and run Setup again. If the SQL code is already on the latest service pack, restart the SQL Server service.

  • Question to the Cluster of conductor

    Hi all

    Just need some ideas:

We have a Cluster of conductor, some behind MCU and TMS. Booking is running on MSDS / conductor. All have SW-latest Versions.
TMS can handle only a single conductor of the Cluster. Okay, all right.
But what happened if this driver is down with scheduled conferences? Is it possible to send the reservation as soon as possible to the cluster of conductor a store there? Solutions or workarounds?

    Thank you very much!

Sent by Cisco Support technique iPad App

    Hi Dirk,

    Welcome to Cisco Support Community!

As you said correctly, when you have a cluster of conductor, TMS is not able to recognize all members of the cluster, as well as a conductor (usually the main one) will be managed and demand by TMS. If the driver fails, when a scheduled conference reached the moment to start, TMS will be able to push the Conference to the driver, so that the conference will fail.

Unfortunately, right now, you don't have any what automatic method to push the Conference to an another counterpart of conductor in the cluster, however, as a workaround, you can manually push the Conference to another position of conductor in this method:

    • Raise your driver cluster normally according to the Cisco documentation
    • Add only the counterpart of principal conductor to TMS
    • Configure TMS to follow the system using the IP address instead of the MAC address. You can find this configuration in "system > Navigator ', tab 'connection '.
    • Configure your TMS or any server monitoring for you advice (by e-mail or by using any other method) when the conductor comes down
    • When you are told that the conductor is down, go to TMS in ' system > Navigator ', select the conductor, go to the "Connection" tab and change the IP address of you're the conductor, put the IP of another position of conductor in the cluster. So TMS will push the forthcoming conferences of the annex to this peer of conductor
    • When the principal driver is back, go to TMS and set the IP address of the back of a main conductor. So the next regular conferences will be pushed to the main driver.

It is important to point out that, obviously, if one starts regular Conference right in time when the driver is down, before you change the IP in TMS, then this conference will fail. You will probably have to reschedule the Conference manually.

Although this good method works very well for our customer, it is important to inform you that it is not an official Cisco solution (as I know). So I personally suggest you to test and certify yourself before appling to your environment. Personally, I don't like to suggest informal recommendations of Cisco, but I think it's something interesting to consider.

Sorry for the delay in answering your question.  =)

    I hope this helps.

  • See all conferences in SmartScheduler

    Hello

We are trying the smart Scheduler, but facing a problem of only being able to see sessions you create. We have a handful of users who create conferences, and we want each of these users to be able to see all the conferences, not just the ones they did. We need what we have users who manage their end points of areas and we want them to be able to add their device to someone of another meeting when asked. Is there a change of configuration somewhere so that a user can see all together in the smart Scheduler, not only their own?

Smart Scheduler will only show you that conferences that you are the owner of.  Even if a complete administration of TMS, I can't see my colleagues conferences I know are coming and planned in the coming days.  The user must use the Planner advanced in TMS under booking.

If there is a feature you want added to the smart Scheduler, suggest you to contact your Cisco account manager and ask to create a feature request for you.

  • Remove the video of TCS in the layout when flow on demand through TMS ' record'

    System information:

    TMS v13.2.2

TCS v5.2 (configured as a terminal)

    4510 Codian MCU v4.4

The TCS and the MCU are registered at TMS.  I work on the management of all our calls more centrally by TMS and struggled to integrate the CHT in conferences.  I don't want the black screen of the "registration...". "appears as a participant at the disposal of the participants.  I know these can be configured manually to rule out it, but I want to automate it as much as possible.

On the MCU, aliases are configured to not send the video to the MCU by default; It silently records in the background.  All conferences configured directly on the MCU without the "help" of TMS call out to all the endpoints - including the alias TCS - and only the video settings are visible.  The content is saved properly.

When conferences are planned through TMS, however, the TCS alias is composed in just like before, but it also sends a video feed to the MCU - a black screen with "Recording" on this subject.  I tried to call from the system directory and what makes an "external" call, but both give me the same result.  I guess that's because the MCU and TMS do not share the same phone book.  What is the reason?  When this happens, the MCU is not the ability to cut the flow of the CS during the video content.

Currently, my plan is to have every endpoint called via TMS scheduling and then have my technicians dial to the CS manually after that trial is over.  Automation is my aim, however

    Any help would be great.

    Hello Luke.

You can very easily cut the video and/or audio from the TCS in your conference.  When you create the reservation in MSD and have your MCU added, go into 'Connection settings' and it should be two boxes on the right-hand side where you can trim the video/audio.

Try it and let us know.
