Hello
If there are other antivirus on the computer, even the trials or those unused programs.
don't forget to uninstall, and then run the removal of their creator tools or check for special
instructions so that causing remnants of evil are not left.

Here's what I use and recommend: (these are all free and very effective versions.)
Avast and Prevx proved extremely reliable and compatible with all I have
launched on them. Microsoft Security Essentials and Prevx have also proven to be very
reliable and compatible. Use MSE or Avast and Prevx, Prevx 3 but not all.
Avast Home free - stop any shields is not necessary except leaving Standard, Web, and
Operation of the network.
Prevx - Home - free
Windows Firewall
Windows Defender (is not necessary if you use MSE)
Protected IE - mode
IE 8 - SmartScreen filter WE (IE 7 phishing filter)
I also IE always start with asset if filter InPrivate IE 8.
(It may temporarily turn off with the little icon to the left of the + bottom
right of IE)
Two versions of Avast are available 5.x and 4.8 x
Avast - home - free - 5.x stop shields you do not use (except files, Web, network, &)
Shields of behavior) - double click on the icon in the Notification area - real time Orange - click on the
Shield that you want to stop - STOP. To stop the Orange icon to show an error indicator-
Click on the Orange icon - top right - settings - click on the status bar - uncheck shields you
disabled - click OK
http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download
Avast 4.8 x - home - free - stop shields, you don't need except leaving Standard, Web,.
and the network running. (Double-click the blue icon - look OK. - upper left - Shields details
Finish those you don't use).
http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download#TAB4
Or use Microsoft Security Essentials - free
http://www.Microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/
Prevx works well alongside MSE or Avast
Prevx - home - free small, fast, exceptional protection CLOUD, working with other security
programs. It is a single scanner, VERY EFFICIENT, if it finds something come back here
or use Google to see how to remove.
http://www.prevx.com/ <-->-->
http://info.prevx.com/downloadcsi.asp <-->-->
PCmag - Prevx - Editor's choice
http://www.PCMag.com/Article2/0, 2817,2346862,00.asp
Also get Malwarebytes - free - use as scanner only. If you ever think malware and that
would be unusual with Avast and occasional Prevx running with the exception of a low level cookie
(not much), to UPDATE and then run it as a scanner. I have a lot of scanners and they
never find anything of note that I started to use this configuration.
I hope this helps.

OK, here's the thing had put end to my 30 day trial of Nod32 Antivirus ESET then I uninstalled and then find a new anti virus I download this anti virus AVAST and installed correctly, but it does not start. The AVAST main menu works, but my laptop is not protected, so there isn't this HOTFIX NOW on top, I clicked it but he needs my permission to run so I clicked the button continue after I clicked on continue the same window came out so I clicked again then the same thing happens so I clicked again the last pop up was then AVAST saying theres something on the Firewall. And so I am irritated and wanted to delete AVAST antivirus but I couldn't find it in Add/Remove programs so I tried to find its location and manually delete its folder, but when I tried to delete the folder it says Destination folder access denied: you need to confirm this operation so I clicked on continue, then the file operation clicked on continue , but the window of folder of Destination refused but this time, the only choice is to Try again or cancel so I clicked the try again button but the same window just keeps jumping up to his irritating so I can't insert my USB on this laptop because it is not protected T_T pls help

Laptop crashes when you run anti-virus Scan
Recently changed my anti-virus. I uninstalled the old and outdated antivirus such as suggested by the guests during the installation of the new anti-virus.
my laptop hangs to this file. c:\windows\system32\drivers\cdfs.sys
I already reported it to the editor of my new anti-virus. Their response was for me to check my video card (I am not a technophile, I don't know how to do this) make sure that I got the last video driver.
What is the problem with my laptop? What should I do?
Thank you

I just installed Firefox 5.0. I have also just renewed by subscription to Webroot Internet Security Essentials, so I have the updates on that as well, and apparently something in the latest Webroot is not compatible with the latest Firefox. When I open Firefox, I get a message that a Webroot 1.7 'Add-on' and a few files associated with Webroot (I wrote not them down and the error message disappeared) have been disabled. What worries me, because I do not know what part of my antivirus program has been disabled by Firefox. My Webroot reports that it is functional and up to date.
What he says is that Webroot has a special add-on for firefox which does not match the version of firefox you have. Webroot will still work, but it will not use this special accessory. You may or may not have a similar attachment that it is bundled with other browsers. I'm not sure. All-in-all, the module is not the main part of your anti-virus, it's just a piece of bonus, they give you.
Firefox has not disabled your anti-virus software, and using another browser will be no more or less dangerous than before that.
Think of it as a vacuum cleaner. He always goes to the vacuum cleaner and clean, but the small fancy brush to clean baseboards or something does not fit immediately.
They have most likely only need to change the small part of it that shows what versions of firefox, it will work with, if the chances are that if you keep an eye on, there will probably be an update soon with a version of the add-on that is compatible.

Do I need anti virus on my new macbook air
I'm a newbie when it comes to Macbooks, although I had an iPhone and an iPad for years. I bought my Macbook Air last week, and before that I've never used Windows. I'm in love and of course always get the hang of it all, but does have the anti-virus software on my nice new shiny Macbook?
I'm sorry if this is a really lame question, but information that I found are quite old and obsolete!
Thanks in advance
