  I recently had to reinstall my HP Photosmart 2610 all-in-one.

  I have the software comes from www.hp.com.au and installed it.   At the end of installation, I've set up and the printer print a sample page.

  My 14 R Aspire wouldn't start and after using the button walk / stop to try to reset it, I called Acer service and were told to send the laptop to their.  The representative asked me if there was a pin hole near the power button.  I said no.  Later, I spotted a pin hole on the bottom of the laptop and pushed him. Voila, it reset my laptop.  In all my research on the web, I have never seen this mentioned fix and had bad dnloading manual.

  In one of your previous answers, you told us that an application of Norton and a McAfee application have been installed at some point in the past (i.e. before you installed Avast). You mentioned also as a test of free Norton is preinstalled on the computer when you bought it.

  Applications, (Norton and McAfee) are known to not uninstall (or upgraded) themselves.

  Note: What follows assumes that

  -The Norton free trial period had NOT expired at the time where you replace it with another application; AND that

  -Your Norton OR McAfee paid-subscriptions expired never (i.e. before you installed Avast). AND that

  -You have never done a repair installation or a clean installation of Windows.

  1. download the Norton Removal Tool, save it to your desktop: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

  My backup external (USB) drive HP has always attributed to J: When Inserted while the disc was removed a USB Verbatim was asigned [j] and I used safely remove Hdware instead of the V-Safe 100 Dbl Clking icon to remove it - I am wary that is why J: is MISSING when I try to rename the HP to D drive :. via CHANGE in diskmgmt.msc - J: appears everywhere where it should, EXCEPT when you try to use it in CHANGE DriveLetter.

  The HP SureStore App gives a pop up "Pls insert a disc j removable disk:" when I Clk the ShtCut tries to do a sync with C: and I don't know how to tell the App DON'T ask J: - GOLD - how temporarily name back to J: ""

  J: SHOWS in the list of DiskMgr w / device works correctly and - 0 - space used, unallocated, reserved BUT IF I Rt Clk J: in 'Computer' on the desktop and Clk EJECT it says d: is in use and to save files, etc. and Multi-EJECT - continue - fail to help.

  Dnloaded 08/04/10 last App Update SureStore and after only 3 installed tent it actually works – BUT - what i re-boot NOTHING LOADS and you have to NEW re - install in C: Sync (present) K: BkUp Drive.   I ordered a fax modem on a H.P. d5000t in 2008. I have not needed so far and I can't find the software. I ran Diagnostics and the modem is there and it works, but it is not in the start menu > all programs > fax and scanning. Ive looked everywhere for it and is not to be available. Support and help H.P. wants me to a complete restoration. Told them that I don't do that because I let me actually on previous computers and immediately something was wrong with them and had to be replaced. H & S told me to dnload 'Snappy Fax' a program of spare parts, but I have to buy it after 30 days. Is there anyway that I can get the software I need?
