Told me that an external source trying to update firefox?
I close Firefox and a pop-up opens and says that Firefox blocked an unknown source to try to update.
You can attach a screenshot?

Use a type of compressed as PNG or JPG image to save the screenshot.
If you get a pop-up message asking to update Firefox or plugins then this message is probably a scam and you should never respond to such reporting to avoid being infected by malware.
You should only update Firefox via "> about" or by downloading and installing Firefox from Mozilla and server never using a popup or a link on a web page.
Plugins should be updated only through the plugin itself, or by visiting the home page of the plugin.

There are several Web sites and online services that become a problem or are unusable for me because I don't have the latest version of Firefox. But I tried to update and cannot. I go to the 'Help' drop, and the "Check For Updates" option is greyed out and unselectable. Help, please!
If he has problems with the update or the permissions then simpler is to download the full version and trash the version currently installed to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the file on the desktop disk image (dmg)
- Firefox 7.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
- Trash the present application Firefox to do a clean (re-) install
- Install the new version you downloaded
Your profile data is stored in the Firefox profile folder, so you will not lose your bookmarks and other personal data.

It seems that it is downloading but when it is finished it will refresh my old version. There is probably a step or two that I'm not finished.
Hello
It is best to update Firefox via Manager Update/update of the software of the operating system. Usually, this will ensure that all dependencies are satisfied, or updated at the same time. If this is a custom installation of Firefox, please see this regarding the minimum requirements for the latest version. The specific distribution support forums would be also useful.

I tried to update Firefox for months and it never properly ends the installation.
I'm on a Mac of Yosemite and my Firefox has been slain to 37.0.2 for months. It continuously beeps at me saying that the most recent version is ready to install, but when I click above and of course - go and install - it seems to go through all the download requests then tells me that the updates will be installed when I restart Firefox, then it will never update and I'm still at 37.0.2. This has happened for months. I downloaded/installed/restarted Firefox and my computer a zillion times and never, he takes and keeps just bip me to install the latest version of Firefox. Never had this problem before, always install it worked seamlessly. Help!

I tried to update firefox secuity this morning and got stuck with Voseran off site in Mozilla
I went directly to Mozilla for updating security settings of Firefox and ended up finding the Vosteran browser. I'm pretty tech savvy and monitored very closely all the things he did and never saw coming until I rebooted and there it was. I took all measures to remove them, even deleted Firefox for now. But you might want to look into this.
It's very frustrating, I use the paid version of the ultimate AVG virus of the Ant and it's still out there.

Yes, something is happening - you have probably malware on your pc (via a different infection vector as a download from mozilla.org), that is why I recommended you analyzing your pc with various security tools!

That's why every time you update firefox move you around?
I am visually blind, is not easy for me to see the icons and exactly what the designated person. I have been using Firefox for several years and am satisfied with it most of the time. However, I noticed a pretty boring thing that occurs periodically when you make a major change in the browser.
You change where it must look to find things that were easily found before.
An excellent example of what has happened with the move to 29.1 I believe.
Now, the back button, which was in the upper left corner of the page is perfectly nestled at the edge of the window when the URL is selected.
I think that you have just added new icons to the left of the back button, but I don't know if they were there before, but in a different place. In any case, as someone who has trouble seeing exactly what each icon represents and therefore depends on memorize what they do and where they are on a page, I find it very annoying to have to relearn the browser whenever you make a major update.
I also find that with each new 'improvement' different browsers get more complicated and inflated. Firefox has been my browser of choice for quite awhile, but frankly, I lean towards the use of Chrome, as I now have to learn a whole new way to use Firefox, I thought that I might as well get used to Chrome up to pull the same thing you just did people, and I have to start all over again.
I just watched the add on that your suggested here and this page tells me nothing I could put the user interface to the way it was before you "improved" my experience. Honestly, I don't understand the reason to arbitrarily change the way something of a user is used to treat when new updates are sent.
Thank you for allowing me to vent.
RadiorancherThanks for the reply.
I actually found a way to work around the problem, and I'll it set out here for anyone who might have the problem.
Open the menu at the top right and then at the bottom of the menu open customize.
Once using customize, you can drag the icons that are clinging to the left of the back button and place it everywhere where you want. I'm sorry that I didn't try it before I get all upset and denounced. Thanks for your help.
It might be a good idea to inform your customers what changes are made and the possible ways to help them get used to the new line up, so it's not just thrust upon us unawares. Microsoft and many others don't, "we have improved your experience" and doesn't give us any warning whatsoever.

I have computer aGateway running Vista Home Edition and something happened with WIndows Media Player. I have the DVD/RW internal drive and external DVD/RW as a player. I use them mainly to copy music files and it has always worked fine until yesterday.
When I try to burn a music disc, the player is registered as a DATA reader and does not allow me to copy music files that I can play on an external source (such as the CD or car drive). Worked fine Saturday and had burned discs Saturday night recognizes the two drives as data drives.
Is it something that needs to be reset or changed?
In WMP, please click the button burn up and make sure that the Audio CD is selected. Then try burning the CD again, they now play on a standalone CD player too.

Lync 2010
I am running Windows 7. When I tried to install Lync 2010, told me that the installer is not supported on my computer and that I should use the 64-bit Installer to complete the installation. What should I do?
Not sure I understand how "use the proper architecture of Windows 7". I use Win7 64-bit HP. I have a license of HUD for Office Professional Plus 2010 including Lync. Everything works except the Lync facility that gives the error message "the installer is not supported on your program. Please use the 64-bit Installer to complete. "How can I do this? No option is provided when I try to run the install exe file.
