Toshiba Satellite Pro L40 remove keyboard

Hello
How can I get the keyboard off / swap it on that? His met little liquid and is not satisfied at all. I found a screw labeled KB on the basis and it seems to loosen the keyboard but I do not see how to remove...
Oh and Toshiba... Why not follow @HP nice people and publish such things huh!...
TIA
Bryn

Hello

From my point of view there are no manufacturers who publish on own pages maintenance manuals. This manual are released and published for service partners

Of course there are a lot of pages in the internet that provides many details how to replace or remove the parts and you can easily find Googling a bit ;)

Thank you, however for the second feedback

  • Need new keyboard for my Satellite Pro L40

    Hi guys,.

My L40 needs a new keyboard. Can someone be kind enough to advise those who will be compatible with this?

I ask, as the last one I acquired did not even if it was listed as a keyboard for Satellite Pro L40. There were two studs raised who would keep forcing the keyboard out latches. My original keyboard didn't they.

The reference on the original keyboard number is 04GNQA1KUK00 - 2 TB. It's a Toshiba Satellite Pro L40 - PSL4BE-00M005EN.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thank you

Wait a boyfriend of the moment! You have the original piece for the right keyboard number and now you need some info on compatible keyboard?
Sorry, but you have the info you need. I don't know where you live (assume UK) but use Google and find an electronic store where you can order absolutely the same keyboard and everything will be fine.

  • Satellite Pro L40 - football manager runs slowly

    Hi guys,.

    I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro L40
I ve bought a football game coach (lma manager 2007) for it and its really slow. What are my options to play better?

    Help, please!

    Hello

To be honest there are not many options to make the computer faster
But I see that your laptop uses ONLY 512 MB of RAM.
In my opinion it is certainly not enough and certainly desirable upgrade to 1 GB or 2 GB.

Therefore, I recommend upgrading the RAM.

  • Satellite Pro L40 - drivers need to

    Hey.

I just installed a clean version of Windows (Vista 64-bit) on my Toshiba Satellite Pro L40 PSL4BE... But I have no drivers CD or anything.
I can't connect to internet because my Wifi does not work, because non drivers (and for some reason that I can't connect through the LAN (does not work on other portable computers as well).) And the lack of internet, it is really difficult to find drivers.

I downloaded the drivers from this site: http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=EU

And I tried to download the LAN drivers wireless from here: http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/?page=downloads
But I'm not sure which one to choose? Also, should I install the Intel drivers first? I installed them, but while restarting the computer froze and I had to force him to stop... :(

Are there not as a driver Package, you can download, as, instead of the driver CD or something?

    I hope you can help

    Hello

To be honest I don t understand your problem. I checked the Web from Toshiba site and there are some drivers listed and also for LAN and WLAN card. Just search for your model and Vista 64-bit. You will find a short list of necessary drivers.
    Check this box!

In addition, you can turn on/off WLAN if you press FN + F8. Did you do that?

  • Satellite Pro L40 - 17F: everything by playing the DVD player window flickers

I have a new Toshiba Satellite Pro L40 - 17F with all the updates of Windows Vista (Home) applied. This includes those optional (for example driver updates)

I came to be used for the first time (outside the application of windows update) and play a movie. The player (not the controls, just the player) window flashing continuously, even on the menu screens. It almost seems that the film was shot with an old film camera and is played on a projector.

I have not really looked at it properly yet, but I wonder if this is a common problem...

Someone at - he had the same thing? What about a solution?

    See you soon

Not easy to say that this could be what software do you use?
Have you tried different players? If this is not the case, check this box!

  • Satellite Pro L40 - how to enable the WLan using ConfigFree

    Can you help me?

My English is bad I do not end.

    The question is:
My computer is a Toshiba Satellite Pro L40 and I use the ConfigFree for the wireless, but it seems that the WiFi network is disabled.

    Help please!
I want to know what's wrong

    Thank you!!

    Hello!

Your wireless network card is recognized correctly in the Device Manager, or you may notice a yellow exclamation?
Her check first because otherwise, you can get the WLAN to work.

In addition, you can activate WLAN with the material on the laptop switch which must be set on and the FN + F8 key combination.
    Check it!

After this Free Config should find your WLAN router if you are in the range of that.

  • Satellite Pro L40 does not start after changing the BIOS settings

Changed some settings in the bios last night and now when I boot I get a screen black lights flash and hard drive lights up but nothing on the screen.

There is no password on the bios... How would a BIOS reset to normal?

I put a windows disc now, I hear the disc spin but nothing on the screen

(I think that I have come to the right place on the forum)

    It s a Toshiba Satellite Pro L40 model psl4be.

    Thank you

    > There was no bios password... How would a BIOS reset to normal?

You can set the default BIOS ONLY inside the BIOS access BIOS by pressing F2 or at the beginning of the initialization of the order

But I doubt that this problem is related to the BIOS.
Maybe it s just a simple bad luck that this problem happened exactly after change something in the BIOS.

Try connecting an external monitor and check if you can see something on the 2nd screen.

  • Satellite Pro L40 is not start!

    Hello

I just got a new Toshiba Satellite Pro L40 and I tried to install WinXP and WinVista on it, but after the 'realtek boot agent' screen, the screen remains black.

Once I recognized that it is not working properly, I went into the BIOS to change the order of boot or something. But he wasn't listed CD/DVD player and there was no option to boot from USB.

You have a solution for this problem?

    Thank you...

This means that your CD/DVD drive does not appear in the BIOS and you can not boot from the CD recovery Toshiba or from the Microsoft windows CD?

Everything you say seems strange to me

In the worst case I would recommend contact the authorized service provider in your country for control of computer laptop because it s a new laptop computer and the guarantee must cover everything!

Bought the PSL43E model Toshiba Satellite Pro L40, configured with Vista. Our Application does not work on Vista, had to downgrade to XP Pro. Impossible to find suitable Sound Driver for XP Pro. Any suggestions?

    Hello

I think that the laptop must support the audio chip high-definition Intel HDA (Azalia) ADI AD1986A.

Check Intel page for the compatible driver or you would use the audio driver for the * series Satellite L40 PSL40E * or * series Equium L40 PSL41E *.

  • How to get factory reset disks for Satellite Pro L40?

    Hi all

Ive got someone other Toshiba Satellite Pro L40 attempt to fix, it got a virus, and the best way to solve this problem is to do a factory reset, so I copied all the personal files on DVD and went to do a factory reset, but told me that I need the discs...

But apparently, this laptop was given as a replacement by an insurance company, and no records were provided, then how to to get the disks?

    Thank you

    Hello

Not sure if you will be able to order this disc from this page:
    https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

Sometimes these disks cannot be ordered if the notebook series would be dropped.
In any case, check out the page and try

Please help me ^_^ that I can't find anywhere on the internet

    Hi softrice,

On Windows XP, and high-definition sound cards, to install two hotfixes first before you can install the sound card driver:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/835221
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/888111

These fixes are included in the SP3 so alternative, you can install this rather unique updates.

  • Shortcut keyboard Toshiba Satellite Pro L300 - properties will not end

    Dear lovers of Toshiba:

This week, we have installed three new systems of Toshiba Satellite Pro L300 (two L300-153, a L300-156) with recovery media for Windows XP since the L300-156 product (no date on the disc, only two codes: CD 5 124624 and GMR400841EN0).

The machines are beautiful and very effective, except for one problem: when the logout or shutdown Windows XP, the program called 'The Toshiba keyboard shortcut properties' does not stop automatically and opens a dialog "end program". The user may terminate the program immediately by clicking on the button 'End now' or wait until it to expire, after which the system disconnects or terminate normally.

We noticed only after the installation of Service Pack 3 on all machines, so I don't know if the problem was present before SP3 has been applied. (We will be definitely check this on the following system and display the result.) Install the rest updates Windows with Service Pack 3 does not resolve the problem. Not more then that uninstall Toshiba Hotkey Utility by installing the package current, freshly downloaded from the Toshiba support area.

A colleague suggested disabling startup programs. There are two likely choices for this purpose in the startup list + of + msconfig +: * thotkey * and * TFncKy *. Disabling either of these programs allows the disappearance of problem, but the functions of the * Fn keys are lost. The key functions are also lost when uninstalling the Toshiba Hotkey Utility.

My question is of two parts:
    # Comment this problem be solved permanently, or circumvented (other than to say the customer never disconnect & close always the cover to hibernate)?
    # If there is no solution yet, how can a bug report situate with Toshiba, so I can get them the information they need to solve this problem and establish the responsibility?
I will continue to post new information here that I acquire until a permanent solution is reached.

Although this problem seems trivial and 'cosmetic' it's always awkward having to provide new machines customers with such an obvious flaw. It ourselves and Toshiba look bad, especially after that we sold the idea that people avoid problems of this kind to choose a Windows XP on Vista platform.

    Thank you, Robert Phair
    Director.

    > when the logout or shutdown Windows XP, the program called 'The Toshiba keyboard shortcut properties' does not stop automatically and opens a dialog "end program"...
    > We noticed only after the installation of Service Pack 3 on all machines, so I don't know if the problem was present before SP3 has been applied

Problems could be caused by Win XP SP3. I've read several times that SP3 could be not entirely compatible with drivers or 3rd tools
So I guess there is a problem of compatibility between the exe and SP3 files.
By the way; SP3 is not completely released and updated test!

I installed SP3 for some tests on my old non-Toshiba laptop and my work LAN card didn't so it of really possible that SP3 causes this.

    > There are two likely choices for this in the msconfig startup list: thotkey and TFncKy. Disabling either of these programs, the disappearance of the problem, but the functions of the Fn keys are lost

It is clear that the thotkey and TFncKy files belong to applications that control the FN keys, SO if you would disable this in msconfig then buttons would not work.

So, a solution might be a removal of SP3 System.
In addition, you should try to clean the registry and operating system using the free tool like CCleaner.

    > Hope to get a response from an engineer from Toshiba, if there is no monitoring of this forum.
I hope this too, but it seems that this forum is only a user forum.
So if you want to report this behavior for laptop, contact the Toshiba ASP in your country

    See you soon
