Toshiba Store Art 4 USB 3.0 1 TB works not with USB3.0 or USB 2.0 port

Hello
I have a big problem with my external hard drive and I hope someone can help me.

Here's the thing:

I used my external drive only on computers that don't have any port usb 3 and all worked well. The drive has been used only with usb ports 2.

Now, I got a computer with a usb port 3 and I was happy to be able to use my external hard drive at full speed.
Has been fine until I wanted to transfer a file using my drive.

The disc has been recognized either of usb ports 2. The NTFS partition is a partition BRUTE! I had to ' chkdisk/f G:' to make it work again on my usb ports 2. And some files were missing!

Then, back on my other computer (usb port 3), the contents were not the same! I mean some of the files that I deleted when it is plugged into usb 2 returned when plugged usb ion 3! And then, back to the usb 2, partition became RAW and I had ' chkdisk/f G:'... once again!

So, to make it as simple as possible, after some testing, it seems that the drive can only be used on the usb ports 2-only on ports usb 3 but can not be used at a time, which is very annoying for a portable external hard drive.

I tried to format the drive to my usb port 2 and return on the usb port 3, the content came as if I had never formatted it and then back on the usb port 2, the RAW score again...

I use Windows 7 and 8.1 Windows computers.

Someone at - it experience that? What is the drive (Toshiba Store Art 1 TB USB3 4)? What is the USB 3 specification? Is - Windows 7 or 8.1 drivers?
And above all: what can I do?

Thank you very much!

This external plug & play Toshiba HDD supports two USB standards: USB 3.0 and USB 2.0
HARD drive around needs bus power 900mA to work correctly.

The USB 3.0 port supports this standard 900mA. The USB 2.0 port allows only to 500mA.
If in case the HARD disk is not working properly connected to the USB 2.0 port, I recommend you to use a USB cable to Y in order to connect the 2 ports USB 2.0 HARD disk.

I have no idea why the content on the HARD drive is different, but from my point of few of the USB standard does not affect content.

In my opinion, the HARD drive wasn't working properly using a USB 2.0 due to the low power.

By the way: this HARD drive supports some additional features like the ability to oversight function and monitor to alert of the disk space that sends a alert when there is not enough available storage space.

For advanced users, Toshiba has added the ability to customize the backup routine, including the ability to select only the most common file types for backup and change how many times a backup takes place.

Someone else had the same problem?

    Hello

Unfortunately, there is no other software by download.
I checked the driver page Toshiba in the Options area but didn't find anything

AFAIK it of a plug & play HARD drive if you n t need any software to recognize the HARD drive

    There may be a password.
    Try this:
Connect your HARD drive to the computer when the HARD drive is working
Select the CD drive with your browser (password)
    Run the ONSPCLCK.exe
    Select 'Options '.
    Select "Disable security password"
    Enter your current password
    Unplug the HARD drive
    connect the HARD drive

Now, it will work, but with no password protection. Perhaps it would work

  • TOSHIBA StorE Art 2 TB external hard drive not recognized by HP Elite /Win7

I have a new HP Elite desktop computer running Windows 7 Home Edition:
A few months ago, I bought a Toshiba Store Art HDD Ext 2 to, which until today has worked well. Today, I started the PC in the morning (with no updates of Windows or other software) to find that he would recognize is no longer the Toshiba hard drive. He always recognizes the WD drives and SimpleTech drives when they are plugged. All external drives are powered separately and do not rely on the power of USB.

I tried the Art Store on other PC and it works fine. I tried to change the cables, the cable works on other players (and other cables will not do this work of Art store). I tried several ports USB 2 on the PC, with no luck * (but all the ports work with other readers).

I try verified Drvivers of COMPUTERS and MANAGING disks. There is no sign of the disk (not defective disc), it is simply not there at all.

I searched on the web - try a variety of techniques (disconnect the power PC) and much more. No luck.

    PC specifications are:
    Operating system
MS Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit SP1
    CENTRAL PROCESSING UNIT
    Intel Core i3 530 2.93 GHz 30 ° c.

Works well with all other readers. and it worked with Toshiba until this morning.

I put t really know what can be the problem.
If everything worked a few days previously, first try to make back the OS using System Restore tool just to see if this will help.

  • Re: Toshiba Store Art Exteranal 320 HARD drive not recognized

    Hello

I have a problem with my 320 GB Toshiba Store Art HDD Exteranal.
I bought it a week ago and everything worked well on different systems: Win 7 (64), Vista (32), XP Pro.
But today when I tried to use it it displays a message that * unrecognized device * and it cannot install the driver for this device.

Unfortunately there are no drivers to download for this device drivers Toshiba page.
I checked it on Win 7 (64) and Vista (32) - same problem.
I remember, the last time that I used it was on XP Pro.

I checked the internet for a solution, but in the end I had to write a message here.

    Hope for more help.

    > I bought a week ago and everything worked well on different systems: Win 7 (64), Vista (32), XP Pro.
    > But today when I tried to use it it displays a message this device not recognized and it cannot install the driver for this device.

If the HARD drive worked perfectly in the past without the use of drivers, then I guess that this has nothing to do with a missing driver.

In your case I would recommend to check and test the HARD disk on another computer/laptop running a Win XP or Vista.

If the drive HARD wouldn't connect and would not be functioning with the help of other computers, then a hardware problem is possible

PS: this external USB hard drives are Plug & Play compatible and so a pilot should not be necessary!

  • Toshiba stor.e 1 TB HARD drive no longer works

    Hi all

I have a new Toshiba stor.e 1 TB HARD drive and was transfer photos and music to it and all was fine, I ejected it but when I plugged it back I get the message:

    F: is not accessible
    Data error (cyclic recovery control)

A quick search and it says that run cmd and chkdsk but that simply says:

The type of the file system is RAW
CHKDSK is not available for RAW drives

    Please can someone help?

    Thank you

According to the article in the Microsoft Knowledge base, the data error (cyclic redundancy check) - indicates that the operating system has found a car with bad sectors or some other intermittent problem.

In my opinion, you should go to disk management and check if the external HARD disk is listed:

    -> Panel-> administration-> computer management tools--> disk management

If his list, you can change the file RAW to NTFS format
Then you can perform a chkdsk command.

But you lose the data, change the file format.

As far as I know, using the command: + convert DriveLetter: /fs:ntfs + (drive letter + should be replaced with the drive letter of the USB HDD) should not lead to data loss

    Dear members / Toshiba.

My E - Tv Toshiba Store + 1 Suzette, Hard Drive Remote Control does not work. I asked the UAE UNITED for new remote Toshiba dealers and service centres. but they did not...
Now I'm unable to use my hard drive without remote control, kindly give me a solution...

Not quite how you help mate.
I mean that if even the Toshiba authorized service provider can not control this remote control for Toshiba, I n t think any other retailer would be able to supply these parts.

However, perhaps you could get a 2nd part of the hand. Check some portals online like Ebay for example.

  • E4407B works not with NOR-GPIB-USB-HS

My E4407B Agilent does not work with my NOR-GPIB-USB-HS. I tried two different E4407B Agilent and 2 different NOR-GPIB-USB-HS, so I doubt it's different devices. The E4407B will not be displayed in the solutions of measurement and Automation Explorer. I tried fiddling with the matching settings listed here, but without result. What I need to make this work? I spoke in support of agilent and they claimed it wasn't my NOR-GPIB-USB-HS, settings on the Analyzer.

Nevermind, I figured it. The NOR-GPIB-USB-HS is apperently not make good contact with GPIB port on the monitor, even if it is screwed to the bottom. I plugged the adapter to a GPIB cable, then GPIB cable to the parser, and it worked fine.

  • Re: Toshiba Stor.E Basics 1.5 TB, USB 3.0 - about connection internal

Please how can I know if inside the drive is sata native or with USB soldering on the circuit board?

    My model is: HDTB115EK3BA

    Thank you.

    Hello

Unfortunately, the Toshiba STOR. E BASICS - BLACK 2.5 specifications page "-1.5 to provides no details on the controller, but in my view the inside of the box, you will find a common SATA 2.5 which is connected to a controller HDD USB SATA."
    http://www.Toshiba.EU/hard-drives/portable/store-basics/hdtb115ek3ba/

You can also try some freeware like HDDscan for example tools to scan the HARD drive and get more details.

  • Store Art 1.5 TB does not recognise Win7

I have this Art store 1.5 TB 3.5 "black disc external HARD and he worked well with Windows XP. Now I have spent in Win7 and can't get the drive working. If I connect it to the computer, I can hear it start to turn, then he made the 'click' sound and guard spining. Else nothing happens, I do not see in the management of post work or drive.

    Any help appreciated.
Other external staff hard drives work well, if there are 2.5 "or 3.5". This toshiba, with that I have a problem also works with another laptop with Windows XP.

The driver of the usb controller is responsible for this function that is part of the chipset drivers. So, try to update the drivers for the chipset of your computer.

  • Store Art 1 TB 3.5 "unrecognized laptop

I have an Art store disk external HARD 1 to 3.5 "Toshiba and I usually it works with my Toshiba laptop (Windows Vista OS). Everything works well, whenever I ran with this laptop.

However, whenever I try to connect the HARD drive even with HP laptop (Windows 7, 64-bit OS) wife I face serious problems. about 95% of my attempts to connect it to the USB port results in ANYTHING (i.e. HARD drive is not recognized in the laptop at ALL! which means that any devices connected to the USB ports are detected). However, it is possible for the proper functioning of the HARD drive, and when that happens, it works fine.

    Note that:
    1. whenever I try to connect the HARD drive with the Toshiba laptop, just after the problems I faced with the HP laptop, everything works well.
    2. supply power connectors and cable are included in the package of disk.
    3. the HP System (just like the Toshiba one) works well with the other external HDD with a lesser capacity that I own (a rather recent WD and an old LaCie as well as smaller in capacity flash drives).

What is an OS problem with this particular HARD drive? Is there a solution?

    Thank you

    Kostas

    Hey,.

So this means that the HARD drive correctly with your Toshiba laptop works and only having trouble with other laptops?

Well, for me, the case is clear and there is a problem with your other laptop. If your Toshiba laptop HARD drive work everything is ok with the HARD drive itself, cables and connectors.

I recommend contacting the manufacture of your other phone and ask for help. There may be an update of the chipset driver or something else. In addition, no one knows what things you have installed so it could be a software too.

  • Toshiba Stor.e Canvio on MacBook Pro

    Hello

I bought a Toshiba Stor.e Canvio 1 TB external hard drive and I have problems when I connect it on MacBook Pro.
I formatted for Mac OS (with the registry) and works well with the iMac and Mac Pro, but nothing to do on Macbooks...
Searching the Internet I found that this problem is impossible due to a hardware problem which can be solved using a USB hub and I tried but does not work...

I don't know what else I can do if you know something about this problem, I will be appreciated...

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

I assume you mean on this external HARD drive
    http://www.Toshiba-multimedia.com/EU/store-external-hard-drives/Canvio/

This HARD drive needs 900mA current and this means that you can use a USB 3.0 port or 2 USB 2.0 ports.
The point is that a USB 3.0 port provide 900mA and USB 2.0 port provides 500mA
So if you Mac provides only the 500mA to each USB slot, then you connect the 2 ports USB 2.0 HARD drive, in this case, you can use a usb cable to Y.

  • Toshiba Stor.E D10 on Satellite A660 PSAW3E esata connection

    Hello!!!

A few days ago, I bought a 1.5 to Toshiba Stor.E D10 eSATA HARD drive.
I tried to connect it via the eSATA cable. At first I saw my D10 HDD 1.5 in Win explore (Win 7 Home Premium x 64) as drive E.
When I tried to access the drive, I get a "device not ready" error I was expecting 5 minutes with HARD drive connected externally. I got the same error. When you look in the Device Manager in the records section I couldn't see it. All I see is the internal 640 GB HARD drive.
When I connect it via the USB 2.0 connection, the drive is recognized and working properly. I could transfer data to this subject with 23MBps max on USB 2.0 speed is 60MBps (480 Mbps).
As I work with huge video files (~ 10 GB per hour of video) I need an eSATA connection to expedite the transfer.

Plese help me with this problem!
