Touchpad tap to select

Can I use the touchpad on my laptop to move the cursor and the buttons work for select. However I can't use the touch pad to tap. I know it works because I can use this feature when I connect, but of them on it does not type to select on any program.

  • Must disable Touchpad tapping Equium A60-173

OK, so my father, I bought a laptop a few years and now it has forwarded to me. I am wanting to turn off tapping it on the button, but I can't find an option to do so.
I installed a new copy of Windows XP Pro, so there may be some missing drivers that come on the recovery CD.
I tried to find all the drivers, but I can't find my notebook anywhere. I ran the Toshiba program that is supposed to detect what laptop you have, but it came with nothing when I ran it and I also searched in the drivers on the Toshiba site section, but my laptop does not even appear in the choice of laptops.

It is a Toshiba Equium and on the back, he said Equium A60-173 and the model number is PSA67E-00700C8J.

So, if someone can tell me please how to disable the tapping on the touch pad that would be great. I can't disable the touchpad entirely because of course I want to control the mouse pointer.

I saw a post that said to press Fn and F9, but has nothing, probably because I don't have the correct drivers installed.

    Any help would be great.

    Hey Buddy,

The touchpad tapping function can be disabled in the options of the touchpad driver. FN + F9 key combination to disable the touchpad together so it s another function.

The tapping function can be disabled if the touchpad drivers are installed. If you install Windows on a normal disc from Microsoft no drivers are installed and everything you need to install yourself. If you are using the Toshiba recovery that all disk drivers and tools are installed automatically because it contains a picture of the factory settings. Recovery disk is more comfortable.

All the drivers and tools you need now can be downloaded here:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers
    * Archive * > Equium > Equium A60 > PSA67E

As you can see you only need to search the Archives to find the drivers ;)

  • How to disable the TouchPad 'tap to click' on Satellite A200 - 15L Vista

Until mid-December, I got the Synaptics Touchpad ' tap to click on "disabled. Then it became somehow activated, the context menu item to change to gray and the properties of the mouse, etc. settings contain no reference to it. It was suggested that updates nui Windows somehow. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the drivers for touchpad both directly from Synaptics and on the Toshiba site, but it did not help. Aside from using the disk recovery and reformatting what can I do?

    Hi Juliana

I also read on the Vista updates that affect the parameters of the touchpad for me it sound very mysterious
I thought about the same procedure of reinstalling touchpad driver.
But it seems this helps doesn t to get the click back features.
I think the recovery CD would be the last resort.

  • Problem with the touchpad: Tap to click does not work if I use a standard account

    Hi all

I have a problem with my laptop that I don't understand and I need help from the community.
As the title says... If I connect to my laptop using a standard account the touchpad does not work if I try to tap to click. Left and right buttons work, move the slider works, works of scrolling, but endearing tape... not even a single tap. If I log in with my account as an administrator, the touchpad works like a charm, no problems. Tap to click and everything you want. If I disconnect the admin account and sign in as a standard user, the problems are back again. I can move the cursor, click on the two buttons (left, right), but I can't type to click...

I tried to reinstall the driver for the touchpad (which is MOMENTUM...) but it did not. I tried to see if there is any option that can prevent this tapping or something... but in the control panel > Touchpad > Tap is turned on. A strange thing in the control panel of the Touchpad is that [when loggend as a standard user] I get an error "unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click on continue the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click on exit the application will close immediately. "and a new line saying"index was outside the bounds of the array. If I click on continue the error disappears, but reappears if stationary "double-tap" enable/disable option. If I click on leave the Touchpad Control Panel closes...

All this trouble occurs only when I use the standard account. With the administrator account, I don't get any errors so I soar options, disable them, activate them and most importantly, the tap to click works.

What is the problem with the standard account?

I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Service Pack 1.

    Can someone help me please?

    Hi Johnxf,

    ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

As he works in an administrator account, then probably your standard user account have been damaged and would need a fix.

Follow the article provided below to fix the corrupted user profile:

I put t know what Satellite phone and OS you have, but on my Satellite L300 I can disable tapping in this way:

    1) go to control panel > mouse > device settings
    (2) select the touchpad and click settings
    (3) on the new window, you must only click on listen and then remove the mark on activate Tapping.

    All that s! :)

  • Lenovo Ideapad Y570 Touchpad 'Tapping' question

    Hello

I just bought ideapad y570 and its been fine, but after months of use it my touchpad does not work as it was before.

I noticed that when I tap on it, it does not select anything on my computer. It moves and everything but when I try to choose anything, it does not.

I already have FN + F6 and it did not work.

    How can I remedy this?

    Hello

your synaptics touchpad driver is installed?

If so, you must modify the settings for hardware-device manager and printers-mouse. After the opening of the properties of the mouse, go to the "Device settings" tab and click on settings. After that, you will need to open the "Tapping" page and enable it, if it is not enabled.

If you do not have the driver installed, you can download from the link below and do the same things as above, if the problem persists. just chose the right operating system

  • [T420i] Question option Touchpad ' tap and go '.

    Hey guys,.

I have a problem regarding a specific touchpad settings which always resets automatically after restart. I don't speak of the possibility of scrolling or moving objects with just a tap - I think that this option is called "tap and continue." To keep focus on the selected object you want for a quarter, it is necessary to draw again.

Painfully, this behavior is not present after a reboot and I mind setting up again and again. I hope you know a solution for this problem.

    Best, Benjamin

    Hi, Benjamin

You can try to install the latest UltraNav driver and see if that helps your question. The latest driver is the 16.2.19.2 version and can be found here.

    It will be useful,

  • Satellite A205-S5831: TouchPad tapping cannot be disabled - SOLUTION

There are several other online on the same forums, and I felt Toshiba was the best place to post the solution to the problem.

Description of the problem: cannot turn off the tap of the mouse to click the feature of Vista. Synaptics driver has the opportunity to turn the feature on, and outside, but it is grayed out.

Other forums suggested to uninstall and then reinstall the Synaptics driver. Get the latest Toshiba, or get the latest driver from Synaptics driver but none of this has worked for me. However, it claimed the driver Synaptics of Synaptics.com worked for him or her.

Here is my solution on 2 forums on geekstogo.com (what kind of name is that anyway?):

I had exactly the same problem and I feel obligated to post the solution I found that it would have saved me hours and maybe he will save the next person hours. I hope that everyone uses the same courtesy so forums like these are useful.

I have a solution, but first let me vent. This problem has been quite the problem more frustrating and stupid. Why anyone who knows hit want type to click? It's such a frustrating feature. In addition, why would anyone software development does not give the user the ability to disable? Synaptics touchpad old drivers for XP are 100 times better. I don't understand the lack of functionality in the new.

I checked on Toshiba.com for touchpad drivers for my satellite A205-S5831 and noticed that there is a driver Alps. I have downloaded this driver, uninstalled the driver Synaptics (uninstalled option programs and Featuers in the control panel) and installed the driver Alps. The Alps driver includes many options over the Synaptics driver does not work, including turning off the tap to click.

I hope that this solution works for others.

Info thank you for sharing this with us.

I've also noticed that Toshiba touchpad requires two different drivers. There is Synaptics driver and the other is driver Alps.

You need two drivers to get the full touchpad control.

    See you soon

  • X 1 carbon TouchPad 'tap' issue

From a T400 and T430 I used to work perfectly keys touch. Side with keyboards cela an important reason for me to buy premium priced at Lenovos on other areas of activity. And I use the TouchPad almost exclusively in particular places of clients and on the trips, which represents 80% of my work.

With the new X 1 carbon (3448AW6) that I have a very annoying problem with ~ 70% failure in grateful 'tapping', such as mouse clicks. Wet conditions feel bad at the beginning, which is mentioned by UltraNav documentation. A few observation I find that it is pretty much the same in very dry air of winter in Europe.

    Description of the problem:

By tapping touchpad causes the mouse pointer stirring a little left and right, as if there was a small movement - and not tapping. Sometimes it wiggles and also recongnizes look, but most of the time it isn't. With very firm tapping, this can be avoided about 90% - but is not an acceptable solution, the same thing with using the TrackPoint buttons only.

Change the 'touch' sensitivity in the UltraNav settings does not lead to any improvement on the standard parameters, which is surprising. I guessed that the sensitivity would be the reason for all this.

I want my reliable TouchPad behavior of the T4x0 return series. They worked reliably in humid Southeast and Asia throughout the rest of the world. Someone at - it an idea to solve this problem?

    Hi again, ixomon

There is a latest driver that we can try to install it. This driver is the base of Synaptics driver. This driver has helped other issues where the UltraNav driver didn't, so it can provide assistance. This driver is located here.

    Good luck

  • G530 - how to disable TouchPad ' Tap to, click on "feature on Windows 7?

I've updated an old G530 (4446 23U) with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit last night and all more or less works (noise, wireless, webcam, etc.) but the only thing I'd really like to do is turn off the "tap to click" feature on the touchpad.

I downloaded the 64-bit drivers for Windows 7 for the TouchPad from lenovo.com, and it did not change some of the features that appear in the mouse settings in the Control Panel, tap-to-click deactivation is not one of the options.

    Any suggestions? Thank you!

Thank you - hope I don't have to reinstall the operating system since it was a Windows 7 fresh, generic installation already. I'll do the update of the BIOS today and after back so if someone falls on this in the future, they will know the result.

    Appreciate the help!

  • Disable Synaptics Touchpad tap to click through registry?

I have a laptop HP-G60-553NR 3 year and enjoyed with a Synaptics Touchpad (OS is Windows 7 64-bit).  I use the latest & greatest, driver recommended by HP:

    2009-08-28, version: 13.2.2.0 has

This driver no longer works well at all (erratic click functions, unstable, moves through the screen on its own, etc.), but there were no other updates from HP and uninstalls / reinstalls multiple set.  After a ton of frustration, my only solution is to download & install the latest Synaptics driver:

    2013-02-25, version: 16.3.15.1 (Windows 8/7/XP/Vista 32/64-bit Edition)

In principle, it worked well and the stability is back, but with a problem; I lost any opportunity to change the Touchpad settings - and with this driver, Tap-to-Click is ENABLED by default and I want to turn it OFF.  I lost the "Device settings" tab in the control panel there are long (not), but there was also a mini-outil of support which could be installed/activated in the system tray where I could switch tap to click power.  This option is no longer possible because if I install it, it reverts back to 13.2.2.0 driver.

My dilemma: 1) I can't go back to the old driver because it's a disaster.  (2) I need to stay with the new driver, but I hope to find a way to disable tap-to-click.

I see only three solutions: 1) maybe the gurus of HP or some of you who monitor these forums are aware of a more recent version, stable driver that works with my particular model or 2) someone can instruct me the keys in the registry, turn the tap to click on/off so I can turn it off myself (, or 3) use external mouse all the time (which is hard to do when the mobile).

Synaptics doesn't give any support and simply tells the user to 'contact your manufacturer', so here I am.  Any guidance would be appreciated.  In addition to this problem, my laptop is rock solid.

    Thank you!

    SOLVED!

I continued to try to solve this problem after the validation and finally found at the level of the program folder Files\Synaptics\SynTP.  I noticed there are several requests here, so I started to run them one by one.

SynTPEnh.exe is the latest version of the mini tool, "Synaptics Touchpad Enhancements" that I had used.  It offers the possibility to load only once, or allow to load at startup in the system tray.  Left click + functions simply open the Control Panel, but right click + displays the appropriate menu where I can uncheck the tap to click.

I hope this information is useful to others, because there are like mine all the ' web on several different platforms.

  • Power selection tap on ASUS Windows 8 Touchpad off

The touchpad on my laptop ASUS Tablet thingy never had this function where you type anywhere on the touch pad to select. I've always had to use the left corner, I couldn't just tap.

But now, for some reason stupid, he had decided to activate the tapping function and it is the biggest pain. While I type I'll brush the pad and it will change the line as I type, etc.

Then I tried to turn it off. I went in the mouse settings in the settings and control panel and neither seem to have an option to turn it off. I also looked at a program called ASUS smart move that supposedly control my mouse, but according to her carpet than the 'tap to select' function is not turned on, which is funny, because I closed the stupid program by pressing the close button. :/

Brushing and change the line that you type on are different from just the "tap to click" option, because the shot is originally actually drag the needle.

But there is no setting in Windows for this, the only options will be in the driver from the manufacturer (the Asus gesture control you already found).  But still, he shouldn't tap to click that is the cause.  Try to test, see if you are able to click on a link by typing on the upper area of the touchpad (rather than clicking on the left click on the corner).

If it is in fact always a click sending, contact Asus (Microsoft may not help, they do not build or maintain the touchpad software).

You can also lower the sensitivity of the touchpad by using the softare Asus.  Or a low-tech solution is to put a business card on the touchpad, so she is blunt and not so sensitive.

  • Touchpad problem

Good day my friends from HP!

I posted a few times before on a problem, and after reading some responses, I got a solution! Thank you all for your time and your interest.  Okay next number, I will have: laptop HP 6730 b business, running Windows 7 Pro.  I think that I have problems with the touchpad. I have the "synaptics Touchpad" program and the settings box.  The problem is this: when I put the pointer on what I want and "tap" to select, the item appears, however, often, the pointer seems to go on his own and jumps on the top, right, and sometimes at the bottom. Often when I make a selection I go there, but if the pointer is to say, a line or something that can be chosen, who will also revisit the choice, even though I can just "slightly" hit my finger on it, (the buffer). I have tried MANY different settings in the "synaptics package", including: sensitivity, scrooling, palm touch and nothing else I can think of. After a score many options, I find that I can not get the pad not to do. Now, this happens ALL the time, but usually quite frequently. I have the opportunity to get a slightly used, but nice shape, press the key and under the Board of Directors. However, one for sale, is listed as a replacement for my #, but there is no print fingerprint sensor. I have the sensor and the settings turned off all the time. It is not in use.

Any comments on this issue would be useful! I do not trust you all! Thank you very much!
