TouchSmart 300 Windows 7, re - install on hard drive replacement problem. Help!

I have official restore for my Touchsmart 300 disks and try to get it back on a hard drive, which I took from another machine. Drive hard said have left include Win 7 and Win XP. When I try to boot from the recovery CD, I am taken to the old hard drive Artemision boot menu, not the installation of the recovery disc. If I continue on this path there, I get an error message and a suggestion from my hard drive is damaged. Repair disk option can fix anything. Recovery Console doesn't help either. Why the CD read and overwrite all the old stuff on the hard drive?

It is a good idea.

They can have tools or diagnostic we individuals have no which can isolate the cause.

So my original Dell hard drive needs to be replaced because it has been send me errors and it is clearly a failure. If I get a new hard drive, I know how to get into the case and fasten the cables. Should I just turn on the computer with the system recovery disk I created previously? Do I need to 'Drivers and Utilties' disc comes with the computer? I've already invited Dell to the Windows 7 disc, but they never sent (4 years ago). I guess the system recovery disk should be sufficient. For any help or suggestion would be appreciated before I take the plunge.

    Hi Nively,

Using this recovery disk, you will install the image of hard drive Dell of origin on the new hard drive. So, you will have all the drivers and original applications. Of course, you then need to uninstall all software that you don't want, like for example the MacAfee and install all the updates of Windows.

Make sure the new drive has the same capacity or greater than your original drive.

  • UEFI Install on hard drive replacement

    Hello

I recently called Dell support on my Inspiron 15R SE do not start and they determined that my hard drive crashed. They have delivered a new HDD to me and forced me to install but I had problems installing windows 8 as it was factory installed using UEFI.

The installer of Windows 8 would start, but immediately gave an error missing one driver media. Driver and utility records I have provided do not seem to help at all. I called Dell support once again, but the guy that I was talking just told me that UEFI was confusing and told me to go into the bios and change boot inherited, who worked and I am now running windows 8 start legacy mode.

But is there a way I can reinstall in UEFI? From my brief research, it seems to be more effective... Is there a driver I'm missing would not be on the windows or the driver and utilities disks?

Doesn't seem not like phone support staff know much about UEFI so I'm not sure where to get help with this.

You need to load the SATA drivers during the installation of Windows. See here:

Use these drivers here, they are the same just packaged differently:

Problem solved.  In research in other forums and the trial and error I came up with this solution.  First, I downloaded the Intel Rapid Storage driver, as suggested earlier.

Download and install the latest version of Intel:

    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=22194

After the execution of the power of the program the computer off and then turn it back on.  Go to the start menu and right click on computer and properties.  Windows activation as it did not show a key, he just say unknown.  Power the system off and on again back.  Look at the properties, and under product key, you must have a number.  Windows Update worked.

    I then went to

    www.Microsoft.com/Genuine/Validate

and follow-up procedures and it validated my windows and everything works.

  • How to install Windows 7 on the new hard drive?

I changed the old hard drive (500 GB) with a new hard dirve (1 Tera) and now I have two problems:-

    1. how to install Windows 7 on a new hard drive?

    2. my laptop came preinstalled Windows 7 Pro, but all the DVD kit (disk reclaimer Application & discs) + Revocer operating system, which has been provided (by Lenovo) for the laptop is in the Windows 8 Pro. So, how to install Windows 7 Pro, my laptop while all the DVD sets are in Windows 8 Pro?

either way, this is my laptop spec (for reference); -

    * Note *.
I intend to install Windows 7 Pro on my new hard drive using another DVD of Windows 7 (not DVD provided by Lenovo), but how do all Leveno program located in the disk 'Application & recuperator readers' (by example; - Lenovo system health and Diagnostics, Lenovo Power Control, Lenovo Fingerprint Reader) to install this hard drive? (as I told you before, all the DVD kit is at or only for Windows 8 Pro)

I hope someone will help me answer my question,
    Thank you

    I found the solution.

Response to question 1; using a recovery & backup software to clone my current operating system, and then transfer them to my new hard drive.

Response to question 2; Download all drivers and software (all the application that located on the DVD of the kit I have) on the official website of Lenovo.

or another solution, send to a computer service shop and let the experts (workers) install it for me (the most simple and sure way).

  • Cannot install windows XP it said hard drives are not connected & windows can not find the hard drives

I got an asus computer notebook windows vista, upgrade from vista to windows 7, now I'm not able to do a clean install of windows xp, when I try to install XP, it says that hard drives are not connected & windows cannot find not the hard drives, so once again installed windows 7, is there a way to overcome this problem Why do I get the message windows xp does not detect hard drives? I even formatted the hard drive & tried to install Xp, but still, I get the same message.

    The answers will be appreciated...

    Thank you

Because the Windows XP installation CD does not have the necessary disk controller drivers.  You will need a floppy drive to provide the drivers of controller for the installation program, or you will need to burn a CD of Windows XP with the controller drivers slipstreamed into the installation.  A CD of Windows XP with SP2 included may have the necessary drivers.

You say that you have started from the XP CD, but something is wrong with that
you do. Just boot from the CD and follow the prompts for a

  • Install Windows 7 on the new hard drive with USB operating system recovery?

I have an Alienware 2015 15 which does not come with a CD player. I install a new hard drive (SSD 2280 m2), so the question is how to install WIndows 7.

While Microsoft offers an OS IOS for WIndows 8 download that you can put on a USB (with dell, I think that it automatically pulls the product key of BONE off the coast of the motherboard?) this IOS download is not available for Windows 7.

So the question is the recovery USB OS offered by dell will allow me to do a fresh install of Windows 7 on a new hard drive in the laptop even USB from recovery of the BONES came with. My last resort is to buy a new copy of windows 7 and a USB external CD/DVD drive.

TLDR: OS Recovery USB offered by dell will install Windows 7 on a new hard drive.

The factory restore USB will work on another drive. I did this procedure with the media created from the latest version of Dell backup and restore on my Inspiron 13 7347 and demonstrated the creation of media and installation on a new SSD:

    http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/Dell-backup-and-recovery/

Since you are using use Alienware Alienware Respawn. Alienware respawn is very similar to Dell backup and restore.

It's not going to work, but the startup information will be stored on your startup disk (one running Windows 7 Home Premium). If you did a dual boot on your system, then reinsert the disc in your computer of the sisters, she does not start. Now that you have properly formatted the drive, put it back into his computer and try the installation again.

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD

    Click Install now

    Accept the license agreement
