Track matte key

Hello

This may be a question for PhotoShop, but I want to use the matte key track effect to have a cut-out section move on the screen.  I think I can understand the effect to create what I want but problem is how you create a circle with a transparent background to layer on the timeline, creating the effect?  With the help of Pre11 / PS 11.

Thank you

The circle with the transparent background IS the matte, Steve.

To create the effect you're trying to create, you put a white circle on a track above the video that you wan to drill a hole and use keyframes to animate its position - and then you add the matte effect to the video and video reference in the white circle.

You can use a PSD layered backgroundless for your circle, or you can use the adjustments title drawing tools to create the white circle.

FWIW, this is one of the 50 effects that I show you how create, step by step, in my book "tips tricks & Cool hot for first Elements 11", available on Amazon.

  • Is "Track Matte Key" bug in Premiere CS6?

The "Track Matte key" effect seems to work intermittently. Sometimes it previews correctly, sometimes, it does not use the cache at all, and sometimes it seems very well. The "overlay cache track" problems of this kind? If this is the case, someone has another way to add effects as a part of a clip/scene. That's essentially what I'm trying to do.

The problem is that it is currently broken and will be fixed in the next version, they told us. Maybe more later this month?

  • Track matte key I do something wrong?

Hello everyone. I would appreciate it if you could help me on the following: a first sequence, I have 3 video tracks. Tracks video 1 and video 2 contain 2 separate clips and video track 3 contains a video cache static jpg (black and white). What I need to do, is I want to use the image jpg as a cache, so everything I do is place the three assets on top of the other and then apply a matte video 2, set his pole Video 3, value compositing luma and bingo! My 2 videos on track 1 and 2 are now playing with the mask I put to them.

Now I want to step up in my element in the video track 2, while I focus on another part of it, but with the mask applied and not changed at all. What I discovered is that no matter if I adjust the clip before or after the application of the track matte key, the result is applied to both the mask AND the clip. Why does this happen? Is this a bug of version or do something wrong? Scale clip should not be able to get driven approach regardless of the cache? And why is this process done as it should be on After Effects, but not in first?

To get a better idea of what I mean, I downloaded a video on YouTube about the issue. As you will see, to get the exact size of the mate to change from one element to another, I had to divide the jpg to mask using the razor and then apply a different scale on this subject. What would happen if I had, say, 20 different tracks?

The clip is located here http://youtu.be/da52U9ZfLAw

    Thanks in advance

Do not mix of movement and track mattes. You must make the request in a nested sequence.

Take the track matte and video that you present a motion in a new sequence. The value of the matte on top and set the opacity to 50%. Use the gesture on the video just the way you want. Then poke the eye towards the matte so that you do not see.

Now, you can nest this sequence on the main sequence and apply cache by approach rather than the original item. Since Premiere Pro does not see the motion in the main sequence (it actually happens in the nested sequence) then it does not bother the track matte effect.

  • Track matte key problem

I took Jeff Jengstack 'Learning Premiere Pro CC' class and so far I have not had problems. In one of his lessons, he shows how to use the overlay cache track and he could move and resize its matte with the properties of the query, but I couldn't, so I did change the scale and position of the track matte in the Titler. In the next lesson that the matte was animated in the query properties, but in my version of Premiere Pro properties affects not the overlay cache track and I cannot keyframe is the properties of the scale/position in the Titler.

The function to move and resize the overlay cache track in the properties of the query has been deleted from the cc PP?

I hope someone understand my bad EnglishUntitled.jpg

You specify exactly what first CC version that you have installed (it is always good to specify this detail...). If you're on 7.2.2 then you may experience the problem that is discussed in this thread: http://forums.adobe.com/message/6294853#6294853

  • Movement of mask and the track Matte Question - why it doesn't work?

    Hi first gurus...

I am able to use the first titration module - to create a mask - then the Luma put on the effect of TrackMatte to isloate a region of the video (I duplicated the original) which I am interested.

-By of many tutorials/videos online, I've found.

Question: Why - can I not use the mask / "exit" from the ThreeWayColorCorrector to do the same thing?

Image - duplicate the clip - drop the ThreeWayColorCorrector - using "High color" mode - to isolate people form (from an extract of the interview);  the background is black... the contour hair root and the body of the interviewee is white.

I get white/black - because I passed the exit of the ThreeWayColorCorrector to 'mask '...

Now - when I drop this clip on my video editing - that I use for the TrackMatte effect - it does not work as I had expected, it could - at all...

Very disappointing - it would have been a very powerful way - to create a mobile cache to work with the TrackMatte effect...

If someone has done something like this before? Y at - it an easy solution - or a setting that I missed...

This should work really - not?

    Some information:

I work with a GreenScreen shot - with lighting poor to separate the hairline of the screen.

Work with green screen - subject to blonde hair.

I thought that the retro-lighting/hairlight was not necessary - I was wrong.

Now with the green screen hidden using this ultra key - get jagged effect around the airline and what looks like the snow and noise around the fringe.

I thought en - 1) video duplication and combining with effect 2) TrackMatte - use a mobile mask that matched just the root of the hair/plan - I might be able to blurr the edge enough to get rid of the unpleasant effect I see...

As BIG as the UltraKeyer is - different parameters of transparency/spill/Starter/soften seem not to be able to remove the ugly/noticeable hairline artifacts that I see...

New - look like jagged effect / snow...

    Any thoughts?

    Thank you

    F

In my opinion, the track-bearing on Pr capabilities fall away from the brand.  The fact fcp7 as it is very useful.  The limitation of the matte in public relations is that the mast is adjusted on the layer is hidden.  You can animate and change the scale and position of the track matte layer, but if you want it to run in smooth synchronization with the matted layer, you're in for a bit of work.  Ideally, you should be able to pan and adjust the layer being hidden inside a motionless mask.  Can-do that elegantly in PR.  This is a faulty design of the Pr, IMO.

As a general rule, you must go to EI for the good contols, where you have all the power of masking you need, with the exception of the variable feathering, and who is rumored to be included in AeCS6.  Also it would be nice to be able to follow the points of mask, which is not currently in Ae either.  But that's another debate.

That said, I am able to use the mask to a secondary use as a Luma matte.  Not sure why it does not work for you.  Have you played with the secondary commands sweetness?  I couldn't even be after what is your problem.

However, here is a tip that I use with Ae that might work for your problem of inlay.  Use two instances of the Keyer.  Use all first to create a "garbage" key, where you will have the most greenery, leaving only a border around your subject.  Then, you can use the second instance of the Keyer to hone in on the edges.  Give it a shot.  Might work for you.  This method gives you an option to avoid the harsh cleanup settings of Matte with eradicating all the Greens in a framework.

  • Questions about the Image matte key

I'm quite confused on Overlay of Imageand would like to comment on these observations:

    1. When I apply a picture as a cache, it does not seem possible at first to determine what image I used as the matte. After that I applied a mast, can I know what image is used as the mast?
    2. I have a 1920 x 1080 in grayscale, image PSD which is used as cache. The central part of the matte is black, the rest is white. I checked the RGB values in the matte and they 0,0,0 or 255, 255, 255. In the effect of overlay of Image inside the first I composite using Luma Matteand marked to reverse. If I reverse the image in Photoshop so that the Blacks are going to white and vice versa, it makes no difference in the creation. The effect of the matte is the same. Why is this?
    3. If I apply the matte from 1920 x 1080 to an image inside the first superior at 1920 x 1080, the cache does not work. Is this normal? I can get the matte works with the larger image in a new sequence and then this sequence inside the original sequence of nesting, but I do not understand why it is necessary.

Any feedback is most appreciated. I use CS6.

    Guy,

Then, you should migrate to the masking effect Track Matte.  Formally, you import the matte in the project (traceable through the reveal in Finder/Explorer) and place on a track above the video in need of carpet.   The effect is placed on the clip (V1) and configured to play the matte on V2 etc.

  • A layer as a track matte for several layers

I have a few animated texts. IM using a solid as track matte hides the text. Instead of precomping all my text or make multiple copies of the acting solid as a matte, I was wondering if its possible to add a phrase to my text layers say, indeed, serve this hides a layer by approach.

  • Animation of tracked Matte Kaputt after recent update

I use matte track masking (blur of faces, license plates, etc.) for years. Usually, I duplicate a clip, throw the Gaussian, blur overlay cache track under that. I then animate the mask with keyframes. From this recent update, I am unable to do so. The mask does not move, regardless if I manually move on the screen itself, or use the values of positions. The Unsharp mask is smack dab in the middle. However, the contour orange (indicates the path animation, etc.) that is displayed around the mask moves. Basically, I'm able to do my work right away after this update. Help!

Basically all I can do now is put a mask in the center of the image via the track matte... and that's it. Cannot move at all.

    Example of illustration:

    track-matte-msk-problem.jpg

    System specs

    8.1 to win

First Pro CC was last updated

    Mobo: Asus Rampage IV

    NVIDIA GTX 680

    32 GB memory

Storage: SSD SSD for raw, SSD caches/previews, grab SSD disk of export files files, Boot/Prgorams (watermarks, etc), (deliverales) SSD, SSD for project PP. files

All drivers (graphics card, windows, etc etc) are up to date.

I deleted all caches and previews and restarted the system several times.

I tried this on different clips, with different sources.

I tried different blur effects. Nothing works now.

It's NOT a hobby, it's my job. So ANY help will be much appreciated - thanks in advance!

In the new sequence, just put the video on the track, then the matte (at 50% opacity) on the two track.

No blur. Just move the matte.

When you are finished with the movement, delete the layer video, all leaving the matte layer and make the mast 100% opacity.

Take this sequence in the project Panel and use it as a clip on the right track three, on top of the video on the right track and the video blurry on the two track. Set the two track to use a matte and assign the three track.

Edit: The new sequence gives you just a mate in movement. Two video layers as well as the sequence with the mast go on three tracks in a different order.

  • Fast track matte Question Please Help!

    Hey there,

I'm dealing with composting 3d with live footage...
What I am now is match the shade with the actual pictures.

After the 3d, I realized theres a few things shadow little, I need to adjust so I fig I'd quick false shadows in EI use feathers with a slight opacity masks.

    I ran into a problem...

I'm taking my shadow solid feathers and apply it only to my 3d, not my live images.
I tried to put the layer of shadow on the center of gravity and then giving the cg an alpha inverted matte but all track what was making my completely transparent shadow.

How to go about adding a layer on a solid and have it does not not others? Thank you

    -Mike

You must create a matte of the 3D layer.  Duplicate your layer 3D and place double above the solid to feathers.  If your time line contains, in order:

    Layer 3D (Duplicate)

    Solid shadow to feathers

    3D layer

Now the value of the track matte of the solid to feathers Alpha Matte.  It should automatically turn off the visibility of the double 3D layer and use the alpha channel of this one to limit the shadow layer.

  • Help with track matte animation

I applied a track matte effect to a clip consisting of 115 images. My problem is that the part I want be visible changes of position. What I really need to set the effect of movement of the matte manually or there is a faster way to do this? Is it possible to move the issue of the track during playback?

Here's what I do. I want all of them always centered on the circle.

  • Why is the track matte column completely empty, matte is not possible

Hello, I have an ongoing mystery. I want to follow a layer matte 9 and 10, but all of a sudden the option to keep track of the layers masts is not available for all layers of the model.

As you can see on the photo matte column any track is emty. Anyone has any idea how this is possible and how to fix it?

I work with AE CC 2014 on windows 10, all layers are 3D

    Thanks in advance!.

You have your publication set to use the ray-traced rendering engine? If so, that's your problem. You need to precompose to use caches or switch to the standard rendering engine.

If you can, I would like to start weaning yourself on the ray-traced rendering engine: http://motionworks.net/after-effects-3d-future/

  • Need help - text of tracking w / Key Frames (no motion tracking)

    Hello

My question is about text real 'monitoring' not followed with text of movement. I'm working on a title screen and I need the text in the title of discarded characters as the title fades into view. I can manipulate the value "tracking" in the window of 'Character' for everything I like, but I'm having a problem actually the animation from one value to the other (more tight at the widest). I added 2 keyframes in "Text Source" under the "text" of the text layer menu drop down but the two keyframes appear locked as "hold" key frames and it wont let me change it. As you can imagine this causes my title text pop with a value of follow-up to another rather than gradually transition.

Please tell me what I'm doing wrong because I know that this must be something quite simple. (I'm on PC, Windows 7 using after effects CC btw, if this is important)

    any help is greatly appreciated!

You must use text and no text source try and keyframe animations.  Check the help files.

I want that the touchpad to work like the Apple one: as the scroll of phones. as the old balls track. weight, gravity whatever you call it. When I flip the cursor I want to keep it his maneuver. There must be a setting for this, but I'm not. Help? Thank you.

I don't think that there is sort of make the trackpad extrapolate the position without the help of change drivers unfortunately. But if there is anything, it would be in the settings where this picture shows.

  • How to use rotoscoped layer as mask or track matte

I do some work between a 3d program and after effects cs6.

Is it possible to use a layer of rotoscoped as a mask or a matte to another layer?

Have you tried as luma cache without success.

    Should I precompose anything?

    Thanks for any help.

Do not use a cache of Luma.  Use an Alpha Matte, or Alpha inverted Matte: the difference depends on what you want, you want to see and what you don't want to see, and it is simple to change.
