Tracking success/failure on LMS

I'm trying to follow the success/failure of a Captivate project and I'm having difficulties with the LMS. It is followed as finished after just the first slide, before taking the quiz again. I have my settings of the quiz the report 'Quiz results only' option, Pass/Fail, report LMS as a percentage, Reporting level is 'Report Score', pass/fail options are set at 75%.

NOTE: I welcomed the user 2 attempts to pass. Could this be what gives me?

I had this with our change LMS (Sumtotal) Pass/Fail to complete/incomplete in reporting of quiz

This fixed it for me.

  • E - Learning success rate with LMS

    This maybe a little off topic for this forum, but with the amount of resources, in the world of e-learning, on this forum, I thought I could get a fair opinion. My question is what is the failure rate during the deployment of a course of e-learning AICC through a learning management system. When I say failure I'm talking not passing or failing the course but the fact that module course commuincate successfully with the LMS passing back 20 or an interaction. I develop training for approximately 2,000 users online. When I put a course I can if expected about 100 people to call me and tell me that they have completed all the training, but the system does not give them credit for the course. I tried to refine the variables that might be cauing the questions but can't cut it down. We have decentralized through the city computers that are connected to our LAN. I looked at how to design training modules work as expected 90 percent of the population, so I'm not sure of what could be the issue. What is an unreasonable expectation to put a title and just hope that it works for everyone who takes it? I had used Lectora in the past and had these problems. I went to Captivate for several reasons and was hoping that this problem could be solved with this product, but I always deal with it. Anyone of you experience? Thanks in advance for comments.

    One thing to remember is that more training on the web relies on a somewhat fragile process to do its thing. In the case of Captivate, the process relies on JavaScript and Flash player running in the browser to interact properly with a LMS System.

    If something goes wrong, such as the user being too strict browser security settings to allow Javascript to run or don't have a too aggressive firewalls block communication HTTP of the Flash Player, then no result performs validation on the LMS.

    There is also the issue of constantly updated browsers updated to correct security vulnerabilities, while the results of Captivate reports code only gets updated once a year, or even not at all.

    With the infinite variety of potential problems and browser versions that can be found in the real world, a 5% failure rate seems not so bad (2000/100 = 5%). In this era when Microsoft updates patches half a dozen per month and each company anti-virus under the Sun is trying to push more and more complex "Internet security" software on an uneducated audience, I would be really happy to know that 95% of my users were able to complete the training successfully.

  • How to detect the State of a LabVIEW test success/failure

    Which variable TestStand should I read to determine the State of a test of TestStand set success/failure?

    I use the parallel model and LabVIEW can see index of my process with the variable "RunState.TestSockets.MyIndex", but now the LabVIEW needs to know if this process was successful or failed the entire test.

    Possible, recommended to capture those (so do not use the "built-in controls visible TS') is to capture the UIMsg_EndExecution (which is generaated automatically if the engine ends an execution).

    This message to user interface, you can access its data, one being the property of Execution.ResultStatus and execution.

    See using TS for the possible values of ResultStatus. This allows to control indicators on your UI.

    hope this helps,

  • Test for success/failure of archiveLogFile() servermanager method

    When you try to check a log programmatically using the servermanager archiveLogFile() is there a way to test the success / failure of the action. I tried

    adminObj = createObject("component","cfide.adminapi.administrator").login("topsecret");
    serverObj = createObject("component","cfide.adminapi._servermanager.servermanager");
    result = serverObj.archiveLogFile("logfilename");
    writeDump(result);

    However, the result is undefined.

    Thank you!

    This function has a returntype Sub, that's why.

    Instead, you need to read something like a directory to see if the file has been renamed.

  • Strange question in custom legends of success/failure

    Hello

    I have a strange problem in my custom legend of success/failure. If I use the of ' letter in my custom caption .bmp file, it is not correctly displayed in the captivate. Attached file is for your reference. I tried to convert text into an image in photoshop, it still shows the same thing. Any thoughts?

    congratsScreen.png

    Thanks in advance,

    -Ajay

    Ok.  That's what I thought.

    So what I think, happens here is due to how Captivate together text captions that can extend to any size, based on the component images.  I think that your corner image that contains text is stretched right at the place where the character of S is located at the end of congratulations.  Captivate realizes the resizable text caption by repeating the last few pixels of each background image.

    If you want to test my theory, just do your congratulations slightly shorter text (use a condensed font or make the font size smaller) and I think that your problem will disappear.

  • Captivate 5: Insert success, failure, and hint of legends

    Hi all

    I tried searching this forum as well as the help of Captivate and have no growth with an answer to what I'm sure is a very simple problem. I'm creating a quiz in Captivate and accidentally deleted my success, failure and legends of suspicion on every slide in the question. Is there a way to get back them on these slides without having to recreate each slide of the question? (I noticed that if I add a new question, new success, failure and hint captions appear in the default style, I designated.) However, for existing slides, I was unable to make the captions I insert act as success, failure, or hint of legends; Similarly I can copy/paste them to a new question slide where they appeared automatically.) Can anyone help?

    Thank you!
    Karyn

    If you select each slide of the issue and for the Quiz properties panel, you can check the boxes to get the Correct back and suggest captions (incomplete).  But there is no option to return to the legend of the failure.  You must go to the failure of the levels take place and make sure that it is set at least one.  You will probably find that it is currently set to zero because you deleted the legend of failure and supposed to Captivate that means that you do not want failure as an option.

  • Connection failure privileged LMS

    Successfully, we have installed a first LMS 4.2 fee, we were able to connect to the GUI, later, we have restored a backup of ciscoworks lms 4.0.1 but we could not connect by using a new password created or former admin as well.

    Reset us the password using the utility resetpasswd.exe, but still we can not connect, it gives an error of bad credetials.

    If anyone can help in this case, thank you

    Hello

    Stop the LMS service then.

    Go to the servers command prompt and go to the following directory: C:/Program Files/CSCOpx/bin> Here type the following command: perl ResetLoginModule.pl Example:- C:/Program Files/CSCOpx/bin>perl ResetLoginModule.pl

  • Why my Quiz status completion status slide does not move the slide of predetermined success/failure

    Hello

    I've defined the status of success or failure in Quiz preferences as below: if it is adopted, it should jump to slide 8. If failure, go to slide 9 (image #1).

    But when I'm running and test the file (F4), it will stop to the State of completion assessment (Image 2) screen and never access the predefined slide. Does anyone know why? Thank you!

    This happens so often, users remove objects incorporated on the issue or Score slips. Embedded objects have no visible timeline. Some of them may be disabled by using the checkboxes (as backward, buttons next on question slides), others disappear automatically (submit during the review, again when trying to Quiz are exhausted), but their manual removal is always a bad idea. And the continue button on the slide to Score is also important that the Send button on Question slides. These are the buttons that trigger actions related to these slides: actions Success/Last attempt for Question slides and the passage/a defect of quality for the slide of Score measures. It's just a bit more in details what Rod told you, not another answer to everything.

    These articles describe the features and capabilities of tweaking. They were written for older versions, but are still valid.

    If you want to ignore the button continue, it is possible to create an advanced conditional action that uses the value of the variable cpQuizInfoPassFail of system to choose a jump to the appropriate slide.

  • Pause for success/failure captions

    Hi people,

    I find that the break with legends of success or failure is too long. I can control it and if so, how?

    Select the legend of success or failure, go to the Properties tab and look in the accordion of Timing.  You can set the number of seconds that the legend display by changing the value one.

  • Satellite M100 Track Pad failure

    I recently performed a 'factory restore' on a Satellite M100 (with Vista Home Basic Edition).

    It was hoped that this process would solve one issue was the recent failure of the functionality of the "pad".
    It doesn't happen if the problem persists.

    The customer is using currently a "Belkin" USB optical mouse instead, and it works without any problem.

    In the BIOS - I couldn't find any settings that can affect the Trackpad.
    Investigation on Device Manager"- no conflict appears and a consistent"HID"device as well as the mouse (which seems to have"captured"a PS/2 port) appears.
    Investigation on the 'Control Panel' - under input devices, the management software for both a mouse AND trackpad are indicated.

    It seems that the 'Trackpad' has been 'disabled' somehow but I can't locate where or how that could be done.

    What Miss me?

    Try to press Fn + F9 to toggle the mouse.

    If its still does not (and considering that you have completed the recovery), and then the Touchpad may be replaced.

  • send a return without success/failure message value

    Hello

    I talk TestComplete application using the COM adapter.

    I have a string value of test step to evaluate the return value and determine if it is pass or not (e.g. return 0 = pass, 1 = failure return).  This works perfectly.

    However, I have added another value to return (for example the return 2), code execution very well, but it keeps showing this step as being "Failed", which is annoying.  Is there a way to remove this message that failed?

    Basically, here's what I have to do, return 0 = display pass, 1 back = fail, return 2 = display display no message or simply view fact.

    Thank you very much!

    Thanks Jigg,

    Yes, it worked well.  I had two sets of value returned to the past and the failure.  Which is pretty good for now. I'll try to change one of 'spent' to 'Do' later.

    Thanks again!

  • For the Boolean result of a numerical limit test success/failure

    Hello

    Requirement

    My main sequence, I would like to call a subsequence of steps. If one of these tests in the subsequence fails, the main sequence must ignore all remaining events for this object to be measured.

    Plan

    I intend to have the subsequence return a Boolean flag in the main sequence, which would check this flag and jump to the group stage of cleaning if necessary. Most subsequence of testing is performed in a loop, so I thought of this approach:

    bool allPassed = true;
    foreach (itemsToTest) {
        allPassed = allPassed && currentTestResult;
    }

    return allPassed;

    Question

    It's easy to do with a pass/fail test, I couldn't find a way to get the Boolean result of a numerical limit test.

    Questions

    1. Is there a way to get this Boolean result?
    2. Is there a better way to meet my needs?

    Thank you!

    Using the Post Actions would be so much easier.  You can configure the sequence to do various things in failure, including a step you specify (that is, cleaning).

  • Change the result (success/failure) of a sous-suite

    I have a sequence that looks like this:

    MainSequence

    Step 1

    Step 2

    Sous-suite

    DoWhile (Test1 on failure and time didn't exceed 30 sec)

    Test1

    End

    Step 3

    The DoWhile loop run Test1 again and again until it Test1 passes or time has more than 30 seconds. Usually, Test1 transmits in reality. So on screen steps, Test1 would be actually shown as 'PASS', but when the subsequence stops, the subsequence would show as 'failed '. I think it is because Test1 failed several times before moving on.

    How can I change so that the sous-suite would appear as 'PASS' in the report as Test1 happened only once?

    Thank you.

    Once validation has been completed, I am always on the page and want to see if the transaction has been approved.

    How do I get there?

    write a method in your actionListener to the bean

    be sure to handle errors here.

  • How to change the report options to show only the results of success/failure?

    Hello

    in the report Options I have report = ASCII text file Format.

    In the Expression of filtering the results, I can choose between four preset selections (all results, exclude,..).

    But if I want to put together a custom then the first word 'Result' expression is highlighted in red
    Result.Status == 'past ' | Result.Status == "failed".

    And the error message in the ToolTip indicates: property name or an unknown variable.

    What happens then?

    THX

    OK, I lied!

    It worked for me, just by using Result.Status.

    It's ok that it shows red like that because it will assess correctly during runtime.

    Kind regards
