Transcode DLNA 7 broken Windows

Windows 7 DLNA automatically transcode .wav-.mp3 > lossless when transmitted.  Vista did not do that.  I have a gigabit wired network.  My active DLNA devices support .wav!  They worked perfectly under Vista.  I don't want not transcoded.  What device does not support the .wav?  It is really part of the DLNA standard!

I hope that you have a work around I just spend $ 500 to put this system in place!

I have a collection of over 400 CD all stored in .wav lossless format.  This format is essential because I'm streaming dts CD and YES I can make a difference on my stereo mp3 and .wav.  (There is some loss of high details).

Don,

Thanks a lot for your comments and I'm sorry for the trouble. I had briefly move this thread that is happening to me by Barb, and here is the explanation and possible solution for your trouble. First of all, let me see if I understand the problem: MP3 stream that goes to your device is not only a white noise. This is the real song you're trying to play, but quality is not one that satisfies you, right?

The reason of why it worked on Vista was because Vista was limited in features of transcoding. Win Vista doesn't have transcode to MP3 and that's why the device you can not pick up the MP3 version. Win7 on the other side, wants to allow to more devices to consume content from a PC. We want the devices not to worry much about codecs. If they support what mandates DLNA (PCM and MPEG2), they will be able to stream content from a PC Win7 (from WMA to AVCHD). Of course there must be a side effect: the quality degrades. While for most people, that's fine, there are people who know exactly what they want and more high quality. This is why I am glad I got your feedback.

Now, you mentioned scenarios: SWEATER (when you pull on the contents of the device) and PUSH (when you Play the content of the device). The fundamental difference is that, in a scenario of TRACTION, the unit has all the control by picking up the right URI to a specific media item. In the scenario of Play, Win has the first option, but the device can still choose. Here's how it works:

-win7 provides for each piece of media supported in the library for a list of what we call the RES elements. These items are associated with each media item XML tags and contains metadata that specify the settings of each format provided by this specific RES element (e.g.: bitrate, resolution, DLNA profile_name, mime type, size, duration, etc.). For a file M4A for example provide us alternatives RES elements corresponding to MP3, WAV/PCM and WMA (for each size RES elements with various parameters)

-peripheral content PULL-ing, sailing on the server, search the item that she needs and that it checks the elements of RES. Each device has its own algorithm to choose the right item for RES, it's for them to decide what to play

-When PUSH-ing, Play navigation, check the capabilities of the device (usually types mime and associated names of DLNA profile) and decided what element RES can push to the device, based on an algorithm of corresponding content. As a rule of thumb, Play prefer MP3 or PCM in that order. (By the time where we did Play it any device capable of Play, so whatever is undesirable, we found to test with, were used to support MP3 more than PCM.) So that is why we decided this way, but it turned out to be bad last year after we ship and good cameras began to appear). However, we check all items in RES and if there are other correspondents the features of the device (like a PCM one) we send those too. The device is free to ignore the MP3 one and choose which is better.

In your case (sorry for the long introduction), the scenario of ATTRACTION is totally controlled by the device. For some reason any your device high fidelity audio prefer MP3 when it finds the element MP3 RES. This seems to be a problem with the unit. What is more, the MP3 RES element is coming in the beyond the 4th position in the RES elements list, so it's curious how your device is so deep, without taking into account all the PCM/WAV RES found items before.

In the scenario of Play, we are in control, and as I said above, we send default MP3. If the unit is not "smart" enough to choose something else, you get the experience you get.

To work around the problem, you must modify a registry key (I would like to make a back-up or something because I do not know if it will have side effects). However, this will - remove completely the capacity of your WIn7 machine to transcode to MP3. Here's what you need to do:

-In a command prompt or in the your Start menu search box, type regedit. By doing that you get in the Windows registry

-navigate through the tree to the following path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Media Player NSS\3.0\Transcode

-remove the MP3 entry.

-Restart your machine and give it another chance to your scenario.

These steps removes the function of transcoding MP3 Win7 DMS. Unless you put the keys back, your machine won't transcode to MP3 again. If your device now prefers WMA (cause transcode us WAV to WMA also), do the same for the WMA key. I hope this will help you. Let me know if it does not work. It worked on my side...

Thanks a lot again for your comments.

    Hello.

I bought a laptop HP flow, with 10 Windows pre-installed.

I burned a set of recovery disks. I also got the product key OEM of Windows from the BIOS.

Then my broken Windows 10. Cannot start. Get reviews of the process died error.

Then I tried to recover. I get errors on the recovery of all and reset methods. Tried to 'keep my files', 'erase disc', etc..

Then I downloaded and installed the unique language of Microsoft Windows 10 N ISO. It installs and runs without error.

But he does not accept the product key OEM HP on this Stream l.

I suspect that the store may have updated the computer from 8 to 10, and the OEM key is for 8, not 10.

According to the HP website, my warranty is active.

What can I do? I believe that, if the computer comes with 8, then if HP would provide 8 installation disc, that would solve everything. The recovery partition is not, so I need the complete installation disk.

    Or any other solution?

    Hello

Looks like the machine shipped with Windows 8.1 so it must have been updated with the windows 10 - this means generally that the upgraded version would be 10 Windows Home 64-bit.

As long as the installation of Windows 10 has been enabled, the profile of this material should have been registered with the Microsoft activation servers and reinstall the correct version should translate into automatic start-up; but it is version dependent.  Try to perform a new installation with 64-bit Windows 10 Home as stated in the guide on the following link.

Alternatively, you can order a set of recovery media for Windows 8.1 starting on the link below.

  • Tecra M2 - 80GB HD - disk is broken - Windows doesn't start! Help!

    Hello

I was working with my email using Outlook and just do normal operations, Windows just freeze!

I tried to restart the PC, but unfortunately it seems that the HD has a serious physical problem.

I need some data from my rescue disc and I don't know how to do. Do you know if there is a utility that can prepare the HD (those who are not damaged) RAW data and copy it to an external drive?

Until additional information, I can boot from a floppy disk and I have an external HD which can be connected via USB or Firewire (but I don't know how to get back!).

Please, any suggestion is very welcome!

p.s. support people has only offered to change the HD, but they are not able, or by train, to do any activity of data recovery.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello

First of all, I want to write a small review on your problem. As you know, we have to pay for each service that needs to be done for the user. I am also sure you know there are a lot of stores or services that can save or read all data from broken HARD drive. Unfortunately this service is not for free. If you have a very sensitive and very important data for your business the best solution is to let the professionals to do this.

If you want to try to do it yourself, it can be very complicated, but you can try. I talked to my friend and he told me that it is possible to do, but you should try to create a bootable CD. With this CD it should be possible to access on an external device like USB connected HARD drive. It gives me a link to an interesting page, and you can try to get some information about this. Check it on http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/.

    Good luck!

  • DLNA network in windows 7ultimate

I initially got windows 7 ultimate on my desktop PC and my home network worked well.  To my great regret, I've upgraded to 8 pro. I understand that 8 pro is not compatible DLNA, and after spending countless hours to do what was suggested in the forums, I couldn't get 8 pro to the stream to my TV DLNA wireless connected to my home group. So I decided low grade again. Although I had right to demotion to W7 pro, when I spoke to Microsoft, they told me to do a clean install my W7 Ultimate, I did. After installation, I ensured that my WMP is set to broadcast to all devices on my network, and I made sure my PC is set to allow and to share media to all my devices and is attached to the homegroup. I also have a laptop which is W7 Home premium. Even though my laptop is visible and share its media with my TV, my PC does not work. Whenever I try to access media on this issue, I get the message to the DLNA server not found. I even tried with the firewall disabled, but not luck. All my settings seem to be correct and compare with the settings on the laptop. When I traced my network card, on PC, it properly displays all devices on the network.

So please, if anyone has any bright ideas, I want to hear them.  Thanks in advance.

    Thank you Anshul,

I tried plex. After you download it. I could not even run it. Then I tried the divix media server. Which doesn't work anymore. Then I finally understood that she had to be the way that my network is connected. While all of my devices are connected to my network through wireless connection, my PC has been wired via broadbend to my router/modem that was provided to me by my internet server. It's a cisco (dpc3825) router. my internet provider told me that the cabling made no difference. This is not true. It has made a difference. When I connected my PC wireless (as was my laptop), BINGO everything works fine. So to all of you who are having the same problem, check and see if the connection method makes a difference.

Thanks again for taking the trouble to help.

  • My DLNA compatible TV takes a long time to detect the DLNA server on Windows 7 computer laptop via wifi

I have a Panasonic plasma tv and a laptop running Windows 7 x 64.  I had no problem with the TV detect my laptop and watch movies via the DLNA server in wifi, aside from the videos stopping frequently, loss of the connection and reconnect.  Thinking it was a problem with my router, I contacted the manufacturer of the router and received a replacement of the same router.

Apart from switching on the router, nothing has changed.  However, when I try to go to the DLNA function on the TV, it will appear the message "DLNA server is not found. Finally, anywhere from 2 to 10 minutes later, my computer appears on its own in the list and I can continue to watch the videos as usual.  The connection seems to be more stable than before because he rarely abandons the connection after the replacement of the router, but waiting for my computer appears mystified me.
Y at - it is a particular setting in my notebook or the router that should be adjusted to solve this problem? As I said before, I reflected quite well the former router settings so I'm really helpless why it takes so long.
Oh, and I use Windows Media Player stream 12.0.7601.17514 (as I was before).
Thanks for any insight of this!

  • Want to try 10, irretrievably broken windows update

OK, Windows update is irreparably broken, it won't work as expected.  If I try to use it, it aspires to 1.5 GB of ram, and flat.  I give up.  Frankly, I just want to see if maybe win 10 will solve some of my hatred for 8, but I still want to give it a try.  I have a bios installed win 8 key, is there a version of win 10 oem who can see the key so I have not try to use the horrible nightmare that is updated for Windows.

As side note, I know, I know that many of the problems of Windows updates has to do with permissions and missing components, I also didn't need to run antivirus/spy because my system is really secure and I'm not sure it so that Windows can have his way with her.

(my program files folders are empty, none of my files are owned by the trustedinstaller)

  • SYSVOL broken Windows Server 2012

I have a DC 2 environment, which is only 6 months old.

The FSMO server recently suddenly descended FSMO has been forced to the 2nd DC.

A new domain controller was then created and its now reproduce with the other server but I noticed a major problem now with sysvol

    SYSVOL seems to have broken.

-dcdiag shows that DFSREvent has failed.

    Everything has passed its test

-Check the DFS replication event log and saw that the DFS replication service could not communicate with the partner.

(the question is that this server is now retired due to death)  If this server must be replicating with another server.

-I was getting a lot of mistakes in DFS with 4612 errors and 5008 so checked on the registry in HKLM/currentcontrolset/services/DFSR/settings/sysvols/seedingSysVols/field and FSMO server, the server of the parent company is the former FSMO server.

I've changed that on the new FSMO server

To summarize, it is a disaster and I don't have a backup (do not ask)

I wonder if anyone can suggest what steps I can take to get the sysvol to reproduce successfully two domain controllers can manage GPOs.

The only option that all seem to point to is a DFSR Sysvol Authoritative restore

but it won't work that this server is not configured as I continue to find references to the old server in the registry?

This issue is beyond the scope of this site (for consumers) and to be sure, you get the best (and fastest) reply, we have to ask either on Technet (for IT Pro) or MSDN (for developers)

  • Download broken Windows 7 Camera Codec Pack

    Hello!

I can't get my hands on the Windows 7 Camera Codec Pack. All of the links no longer work, and all I can find is the versions of Windows 8, which will not be installed. It is absolutely vital for the workflow of my company, and I managed to install from this article http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows7/how-do-i-view-raw-pictures only a couple of months.

I tried to find mirrors or links to work and can't. Any help is very grateful.

  • Recycle and broken Windows Win7HP bin file manager

    I broke my Win7HP yesterday...

The Recycle Bin icon is missing. If I open the file manager, I get the indirect approach of the magnifying glass and no results file!

I'm not exactly sure how, but I think that it is removing a file that is uploaded to skydrive.  Nevertheless, the net effect on my system is a disaster.

I tried running the FixIt for questions of funds, but he said that he had no problem.  The system is completely up-to-date, and Security Essentials scans clean.

    Need help please,.

    Thank you.

The man was extreme, if you know what I mean.  I had to pay Microsoft $$ for help.

In fact, it took two calls and two interventions to clear.  (still not sure exactly what it was).

What they have determined is that my user profile was irreparably damaged.  It has to be copied to a new profile, and then deleted...

In the meantime, they scanned rootkit, malware and viruses.  All clear. (at this time I was pretty sure that must have a possibility).

After the new profile, I had no any problems.  But the passage is very energetic and has taken a lot of time to 'fix' things as they were before.  Try not to do...

What he started (in my opinion as a Windows power amateur guy), I was uploading documents to the Skydrive, when I removed them from the desktop computer before transfer was complete. There was some kind of conflict, and things were never the same with the file manager and the trash.

There you go. Thanks for the help Imran M.

    Be happy.

  • Broken Windows w/error 8024402F update

    Hello

Looks like I'm certainly not alone in this problem:

    I have:

1 cleared out the C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder and allow it to rebuild.

    2. run the Windows Update troubleshooting tool.  When run, it detects problems and specifically says recent updates installation problems - is not fixed. " I reboot and have the same problem.

3 run sfc/scannow - all checks very well.

I am at a loss.  Does anyone have any other tips/tricks to try?

  • Histogram on Camera Raw Filter appears missing or broken Windows 10

Dear Adobe team and PS - CC community:

Photoshop is run like a dream (and a good one!) under Windows 10.  Essentially, nothing has changed and if anything it's just more fluid and faster on my workstation even.

There is only one problem that I took, and I have no way of knowing if it is simply caused by PS and 10 Windows, or if it comes to the new nVidia Driver for Windows 10, which I use, or what.

Symptom and how to replicate: open Photoshop, load and work on an image, using adjustment layers, convert into dynamic object, and then apply the filter Camera Raw.  You will see, at least on my system, that in the Camera Raw filter window, the histogram window is completely black, at least under the general tab.  I think that if you are moving to some of the other tabs, you can get a histogram that is appropriate for them (but I forgot).  At least in the General settings of the Camera Raw window tab, the histogram is just a straight black rectangle.

Thanks, I hope it will be easy to enter an update soon.

  • OTP-780 I can't access to my videos via DLNA files since I moved to Windows 8 on my PC

Since I moved to Windows 8 I can access is more to my files (sometimes I can see my files but it is not stable and never files...)

instead of my PC, I can play my files on TV

Is - my BDP-780 is not DLNA compatible with Windows 8?

I strictly followed the instructions of Windows to configure my network...

    Hello Nicolas,.

Welcome to the community of Sony.

The BDPS780 Blu - ray player is compatible for the streaming of files of Windows 8 computer via DLNA.

The DLNA function works by using the Windows 8 operating system, if the parameter is set to desktop mode. To work, select the setting in Office mode if you are using the new Windows User Interface (UI).

Make sure that the firewall on the router settings do not prevent the media server to the client machine.

Follow the steps mentioned on the underside of the base article of knowledge.

  • loss of internet explorer. Now by default Desktop Icons in Windows Media

I HIT SOMETHING BY MISTAKE AND LOSS OF THE USE OF INTERNET EXPLORER AND WINDOWS MEDIA HAS TAKEN OVER MOST OF MY ICONS ON MY DESKTOP
EVERYTHING THAT I TOUCHED WINDOWS MEDIA APPEARS, EVEN BASED ON MICROSOFT. WHAT SHOULD I DO TO GET IT BACK?

    Hi Cynthia,.

Do you know when this started? If so, try a system restore to before it started to see if that helps. If you use Windows 7, seehttp://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/700-system-restore.html. If you are using Vista, seehttp://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/. If you are using XP, seehttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/306084. Sometimes this simple process made the rounds and sometimes that doesn't help - but it is easy and worth if she has recently begun.

If you are unable to access the internet (or even the system restore), tries to boot mode safe mode with networking and see if that helps.  If not, see if you can use a disk recovery or the Setup disk to access the options of recovery in this way.  If you need help, I need to know your operating system, manufacturer, brand and model of your computer, and what drives you are available now.

If you can access the internet somehow, if you are using Vista, go tohttp://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/06/22/reset-and-fix-broken-windows-vista-file-ext-and-type-associations-include-exe-com-sys-zip-lnk-folder-drive/ and scroll to the EXE and click or double-click it to run the program to restore EXE file associations. Once done, do the same for LNK entry. That should restore your programs. If you use Windows 7, go to http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/19449-default-file-type-associations-restore.html. If you are using XP, go to http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm.  NOTE: I think this is the real answer to the problem and the question in this case, I've rarely seen in combination, is how to perform the procedures with your system in its current state.

We will check the alteration that may have been caused by this problem:

Go to start / all programs / accessories / command prompt and right click on command prompt, and then click Run as administrator.

Type sfc/scannow, go and let it run. It will scan and try to correct some of your system files. If all goes well he comes complete with no corruption, it could not repair (if it has these post of corruption here or try to analyze it to find the problem or files using http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928228).

While in the command prompt, type chkdsk /f /r and enter and let it run. They tried to set itself to run at the next reboot. Answer Yes and restart to run the program. It will scan and attempt to resolve any corruption or bad sectors on your hard drive and remove especially as a potential cause.

If that can't find something problematic (and maybe especially if this is the case), then we will make a thorough for malware check to exclude:

First, try the following programs if you do not, because they can help. I recommend you download, install, update and run full scans with Malwarebytes:http://www.malwarebytes.org/ and SuperAntiSpyware:http://superantispyware.com/ and then run a full scan of Microsoft Security:http://www.microsoft.com/security/default.aspx. This may or may not remove the infections, but will probably not correct the damage caused by them. Even if they or your current AV software seem to work or indicate that you are not infected, you should not completely trust in them and must continue with the recommendations that follow (so it's up to you if you want to try them first, or just ignore all this and get help from an expert you really need as described below).

Correctly and completely remove these infections can be complex and often require manual removal procedures (which may or may not be entirely effective either). Even if they work, I suggest what follows in any case, so that we can start it (you can ignore the methods above if you want it really is the way forward, but it won't hurt to them for trying).

Please follow these recommendations of JimR1 - MVP compliments:

You are running Microsoft Security Essentials?

If Yes: start here - https://support.microsoftsecurityessentials.com/ and select the link that says - I think my computer is infected - and support and select the option for phone, chat or email (options vary depending on the region)
