Trojans locking a pc
My 80 year old father rang just to say that he received a message on his pc, threatening to close his pc so it na not go and buy a few cards to pay to access some * site (that he may or may not have consulted?). He went to look for the card, but luckily the guy in the shop told him not to do so. He was lucky in that regard, except that now he has a pc that does not start. He gets just apparently a blank screen. I know, that I'm not with him and his knowledge of pc is limited so can't really explain what happened. It is very panicking and a very worried about how to solve this problem. I'll make him visit the weekend to try to resolve this, but do not know what to expect or where to start. Help would be welcome.
Hello
Really need the name of the Malware that did this as disposal methods vary.
You can try this method.
Scan of Malware in Safe Mode with network.
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/how-to-start-Windows-in-safe-mode/#Vista
Windows Vista
Using the F8 method:
- Restart your computer.
- When the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information begins to tap the F8 key repeatedly until you are presented with the Boot Options Advanced Windows Vista.
- Select the Safe Mode with networking with the arrow keys.
- Then press enter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.
- To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.
- Do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.
Once in Safe Mode with network, download and run RKill.
RKill does NOT remove the malware; It stops the Malware process that gives you a chance to remove it with your security programs.
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/rkill/
Then, download, install, update and scan your system with the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware in Mode safe mode with networking:

See you soon.

Safari is locked with"Trojan Virus".
Apparently, I have somewhere went wrong the other day. Now, Safari displays just a warning box telling me computers blocked a Trojan horse and call a number 844 to help get rid of it. About 6 of them on the screen, and if I do anything in Safari, I get 3 or 4 more. Does not seem to do anything else, or that affect other programs. Any advice?
Choose force quit from the Apple menu, close Safari and then run it with the SHIFT key is pressed. If the message reappears, disconnect the computer from the Internet and close the tab Popup came.

I have a desktop Mac G5 with OX 10.5.8. My Safari browser has been hacked with malware of TH, and so I removed it because it is too old to update to the Mavericks.
I am now using Firefox. I now see that the Trojan horse is rooted in my bookmarks bar, on the drop-down menu Options. I was trouble reset Firefox and I can't the Malwarebytes that I downloaded to open and run. I deleted the history, cookies, cache them on my computer. I also deleted the Java, MSN and email old, mail and setting the hard drive.
I'm a Low-Tech techno. Thank you for your ideas,
svidor
You are able to give screenshots or other information so that we know more about your problem.
I don't know what the Trojan horse is / was, but there were a few reports of pseudo ransomware. This requires money and creates the impression that Firefox is locked. If you're lucky and you have this kind of problem, it is easy to get out of.

Equium L40 very slow and Windows Defender found a Trojan horse
I was wondering if you could help me with a situation.
Turned my laptop on and Windows Defender found a Trojan, so I chose all clear. Then it arrived 5 minutes later and I pressed on delete everything again.
Afterwards my internet is incredibly slow and often freezing.
Opening files and folders often locked up but I could still click on the red X if it took 30 seconds to close after that I clicked on the X.I get now random pop ups not even on the internet.
Do you have any suggestions?
Thank you.
Hi Kieran
Have you tried different antivirus software?
I would recommend this. I use a software called Antivir freeware antivirus and it is nice.
It of free and you can download it from various internet sites. In addition, you could use an Ad-aware to kill this Trojan horse. It of also for free and maybe it could be useful too.
Google just to download it for free.If you won't be able to remove the virus from your system by using programs like Antivir, antivirus Norton antivirus, etc. and then use your Toshiba Recovery CD.
I think this should help.
Good bye

Virus or Trojan or something else that will activate the guest account?
My computer is very slow, and every time I wake it from sleep I notice that the guest account has been enabled. So I go into Control Panel and then users and groups and disable the guest account unblocking of the user and groups with my password, remove the check mark beside guest account and lock user accounts. However, even if I am away from my computer, the check mark next to guest account gets back and the guest account enabled.
Nobody else uses my computer. Does anyone know of a Virus, Trojan, Bot, or anything else that might be my computer hijacking. I have ClamXav, but nothing was found after several scans. Help please.
It is not a virus. Viruses don't do that sort of thing.
Earlier, I think I've found that putting on find my Mac would automatically allow the guest account. Not sure if this is still true today. You can check by turning off to find my Mac, disable the guest account and then verify.

Microsoft offers a download to remove a locked dll file
I am manually removing any iTunes (installation has been altered) there is a file in the iTunes folder called itunesminiplayer.dll
I get access is denied, the file is locked (iTunes offer no. HELP WITH THIS) there are software available but it comes with viruses and other software then install it.
Good day to you Wunders,.
Thank you for your time.
DLL locked. files will not remove, you must use a specialized program to delete. I had already tried the unlocker Cedrick Collomb above my AVG security identified a Trojan horse (which is now in my forties) was inside the download. CNET notifies you on this issue, but said no viruses.
I can recommend the first site http://www.ehow.com/how_8526319_delete-locked-dll.html which then leads you to the second site http://www.gibinsoft.net/gipoutils/fileutil/index.htm you leave this window open until the installation is complete, it works very well.

locked Windows XP network connections
I was struggling for the last 2 weeks with my ip address does not change do not. I've been in contact with my ISP technology support and we found the network connections is locked. When I click on the Connect box icon nothing happens. When I right click the icon and select the State that nothing happens. I can't access one of the parameters. so I uninstalled and reinstalled it and its doing the same thing. I have 2 computers hooked up to the same modem and they another computer's network connections works when I click on the link, it opens a connection status window box. so, how can I unlock or whatever to make it work again? I tried everything I can think of. I have internet access and can get online.
This problem was caused by a Trojan virus. It spread across my operating system. I had to use a hard drive cleaner and completely erase the hard drive. That took five days to do. When he finally finished, I reinstalled Windows XP. My ISP Bright House gave me another modem, with its own security and firewall so that it will not happen again.
Thank you very much for the help.

Virus, TrustFighter, lock up.
I was on the home page of Microsoft when viral alerts infiltrated. Trust Fighter seems to be affiliated with MicroSoft. He asked me to register for $39.00 and, of course, now they have all my information. The Fifhter Trust was simply a loop for the scans. My computer is LOCKED IN PLACE. I called my credit card company to see if they had charged. The company name is an ABD, 800-527-2229, AND they charged $99.00. $99.00 for a locked computer. Help, please! I tried the web link that was given to me, EMAIL GONE earlier. Seems to be false. I was such a sucker today.
You must call your credit card company and do a chargeback, because you've been scammed. Also, you need to immediately cancel your credit card and send you a new since the bad guys now have your credit card number.
Your system is infected with a rogue antivirus program. It's called "thugs" because he pretended to be a good guy but is really bad.

Windows completely locked by a virus, is possible to re - download?
Howdy forum go - ers, my computer has a virus (Trojan horse) that completely locked windows closing all windows as soon as they were opened. Couldn't even open msconfig... So I deleted it from my hard drive and threw it on the latest version of Ubuntu to make my computer usable for the moment.
Back to my question if... is it possible to re - download windows vista home premium (legally) without having to buy another copy? given that the activation code is always on the side of my Tower, I really do not have to buy windows again just simply because the product does not on me.
PS: I don't have the recovery disk that came with my computer.
Hello
There is no free and legal Vista download
but these are ways to reinstall vista:
Contact the computer manufacturer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it
they do it for a nominal cost of $
also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought
you would normally press F10 or F11 or Alt + F10, 0 at startup to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer
Ask them of the exact key sequence
or borrow a microsoft dvd vista
Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer
they contain all versions of vista
This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

Window devices and printers stops responding (hangs) after that you turn off the Bluetooth Support service in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2 the patch have not changed anything.Additional information that I can give (from my system) are:
- Bluetooth (a Broadcom? 750) seems not in system devices
- When we stop at theDevices and printer window hanging (using the Red Cross)
Enumerator of devices and printers - It is impossible to define any device and win7 does not have anyone.
- It is possible to define a printer, but it can be entered through the window, they appear in the list of printers available by print function in software. It prints normally.
- When I try to connect an external USB device to bluetooth it had been recognized, more it seems that broadcom bluetooth card was temporarily too and worked for the transfer of data. After no restart of the system or the USB and the internal are none recognized more, anywayv (check reconnect the external effect, ignored device into any usb port).
- Reinstalling broadcom driver had no effect.
- I couldn't find anything bad (to my knowledge) in the BdR.
Since that time (two months ago), I have no more Manager of devices and printers.
Best regards
Trebly
