  • Get a virus = Trojen Win32 Sirefef.AH.

Have tried to use essential Windows and Malwarebytes and they confirm their action that cleaned, but seems nothing to remove it permanently. Help

    Hello

I deleted successfully this virus today from XP Home. I'm expecting the same procedure to work on Vista but cannot guarantee this. The latest definitions for the MSE and MBAM were ineffective (MSE found but couldn't get rid of it, just MBAM did not) but I was able to clean with SUPERAntiSpyware. However, I do this kind of thing for a living and what I've done is not possible for you...

    • Get any browser to download whatever it is that may be useful proved impossible, so I removed the hard drive and plugged into one of my PC (which I use only for occasions like this), so that the boot partition, it is now a data partition in my PC.
    • I ran SAS full scan on the boot partition (after making sure has been updated) and it found and removed several items.
    • I replaced the drive in the original PC and the PC booted OK, only found MSE sirefef in restore points so I disabled the system restore and then turned it back to make sure that all other instances of sirefef would be eliminated.
    • Connectivity Internet could not be established, it's becase SAS has deleted the file as part of its disinfection netbt.sys.
    • I restored this file to C:\Windows\System32\Drivers of internet connectivity and returned C:\Windows\System32\dllcache. This piece will be different under Vista.
    • I removed MSE, downloaded and installed the AIRLOCK and did a full scan which found no other trace of sirefef

I hope this helps. If you have questions about any step please after return.

It may be possible for you to download SAS to another PC and install it on your PC as an alternative to remove the hard drive and insert into another PC. Do not try to transfer the hard drive to another PC yourself unless you are comfortable doing so. If you decide to do you should stop both PC and unplug the power outlet and also take precautions to avoid damage to static electricity.

Even though my PC is not affected by this, doesn't mean that it will be OK for you - there may be variants of sirefef here or there may be other malware and more sirefef on your drive.

How to remove Trojan - Spy.Win32.Banker.aiw

It's a false alarm or a Windows malware attachment in email (a common occurrence for most users of e-mail). No one can hurt you, and you don't need to do anything. Just do not pass to someone else.

You have no need to do is get rid of the software "anti-virus" (AV). All these software are worse than useless.

Malware Windows is so widespread that you must assume that it is in each attachment until proof to the contrary. If you are just curious to know if a file is recognized as malware by the AV engines, you can download it from the "VirusTotal" site, where it will be tested against most of them. I do not recommend doing this with a file that may contain private information. A negative result is no evidence of anything either, because the AV software is not reliable.

Never leave any AV software remove or 'quarantine' send messages or attachments. This will damage the messaging database.

  • Cannot repair after Win32/Olmaric.AYA

Have been infected with the Olmaric virus and that you want to repair the boot sector, but although I can boot windows, when I boot from a Windows CD, the operating system is not found. It is a Win7 64 bit operating system and I have the same "load drivers" message with Win7 32 bit and Vista 64-bit DVD. As there is no drivers for this laptop (Satellite C560D) SATA I wonder if would not get a different result if I don't find Win7 64 bit DVD? Any other ideas?

I tried to fix by using the Paragon disk as Manager. From the command prompt bootrec /fixmbr seems to work, but bootrec /fixboot give me Volume does not contain a recognized file system. Used the new Nod32 of USB disk which found but can't delete the Win32/Olmaric.AYA Trojan. NOD32 detects even irreparable Windows problem; Malwarebytes can find no problem now.

Use the recovery DVDs and recovery image. In my opinion, it's the best thing you can do now.

After an hour, you will have own OS preinstalled with the factory settings.

Luckilly I have an iphone so managed to get on internet forums and find a solution which was to use a command in cmd.exe that fixed the problem.

The only thing is now that I have a very basic windows Classic theme that when I try to change to Vista in the theme settings it gives the message:
    * "the theme could not load. %1 is not a valid win32 application. "

Any help and step by step for the user base would be much appreciated! I guess it can't be that bad since Windows is still running and working properly!

    Thank you

    Hi tarmacsnortingmonster,

That is the reason why I n t play with any 3rd themes part because I always read from time to time on various problems after installation. So I don't use Windows themes pre-installed and don t have problems.

In any case, I think you should try a system restore to an earlier point before installing this theme.
I hope this helps if not it is time to reinstall Windows, I think that :(
