Troubleshooting couldn't identify the problem

I try to add a Dell 942 on my Windows XP from Toshiba all-in-one printer and it won't let me.  Can you please help.

Is this a new printer? Have you followed the installation guide and or you want to just connect the printer, it installs the hope. You leave a lot to the imagination with your vague comment for help. You should have explained what stepe you took to install and the results.

  • HP color LaserJet 2550 PCL 6: If anyone can identify the problem of these prints?

    When I print, I get areas white, spots, lines, etc...

    If I print & printing becomes better & better until after 5-10 prints, it's perfect.

    I can print a few pages, then it will begin to fail again... but not as bad as when spends a lot of time and then try to print.

    I typically re - calibrate before printing, but I can't be sure if that is actually help.

    Here the 6 test pages, in order from the top left to bottom-right. It took 6 pages to get a good page.

    All the "ink" is full and there is no error msgs.

    Can someone identify the problem of these prints?   What piece of hardware is a failure.

    As you don't have a Vista DVD, try this:

    Download the ISO on the provided link and do a repair of the disc.

    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

    After installing above ISO burning software, right click on the Knoppix ISO file > copy the Image to a CD.

    Knoppix is not installed on your PC; use only the resources of your PC, RAM, graphics etc.

    Change the boot order in YOUR computer/laptop to the CD/DVD Drive 1 in the boot order.

    Plug a Flash Drive/Memory Stick, BOOT with the Live CD, and you should be able to read the hard drive.

    When the desktop loads, you will see at least two drive hard icons on the desktop (one for your hard drive) and one for the USB key.

    Click on the icons of hard drive to open and to understand which drive is which.

    Click the icon for the USB drive and click on "Actions > Change the read/write mode" so you can write to disk (it is read-only by default for security reasons).

    Now to find the files you want to back up, just drag and drop them on the USB. When you're done, shut down the system and remove the USB key.

    You have access to a Windows Vista installation disc? If so, follow the steps in this document to perform an InPlace upgrade. This will reinstall Vista without making any changes to the files and programs on the computer. Even if your data and programs must be safe, it is always advisable to make sure that you have a recent backup before major changes on the computer.

    This message is typical of a server that is not reachable for any reason any.
    It might be that the smtp service is not running or it is not responding on the configured port or IP address (is it operational? it still works on the same IP? is there a firewall between the two? have you recently changed firewall rules?)

    Open the command line on the computer that runs the apex and try this

    Telnet port addr

    for example, I have a test of smtp server to 192.168.1.24 running on port 25 and my virtual servers apex I can perform this test to check if it is running:

    Telnet 192.168.1.24 25

    25 is the standard SMTP port.

    If it works, if opens a connection with the SMTP server, if not, will report you an error.
