Troubleshooting of the error

Troubleshooting indexing and search will not work.  It reports an error.  How can I fix the troubleshooting tool?

To allow a person to better help you, can you provide more details please. Like, what is the exact error message and error number reported? Convenience stores work? ( http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/troubleshooting-windows#troubleshooting-windows=windows-7 )

1. If you have not already tried it, run a sfc/scannow to see if it detects and fixes something.

2. make sure the "Windows Search" service is listed and started (automatic delayed) in services.

in "search programs and files" enter in "services" without the quotes. In the program results, click on "services" and should open the services window. Make sure that 'Windows Search' is registered and started and marked to run automatically (delayed start).

Sorry, I can't really help much here. I looked at the logs and noticed some reports as:

I read that SFC running a few times can sometimes solve some of the problems, but I think you have already done this.

You can try a "repair installation" (although it should leave your programs and data in place, its best to backup your data (documents, photos, etc.) first - just in case where) and search for updates once its finished.

However, hopefully, one of the expert forums will be "the chip" soon. If its worth waiting to see what they have to say after that they checked your sfc connects.

    Hi ALOK CHANDRA SINGH,.

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft answers forums!

Error code 0 x 80131700 is generally relevant to the old version of the .NET Framework installed on your system. By default, the integrated Microsoft .NET Framework version is 3.5.1. You can reinstall Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1.

Please follow the steps mentioned by Dale Qiao, see link below

    If the problem persists,

I suggest you try the following steps:

Step 1: Start the computer in safe mode and check if the problem persists

To use a boot option, follow these steps:

    a. restart your computer and start pressing F8 on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured to start to multiple operating systems, you can press the F8 key when the Boot Menu appears.

    b. Select an option when the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, and press ENTER.

    c. when the boot menu appears again, the words "Safe Mode" appear in the bottom, select the installation that you want to start and then press ENTER.

If you are able to work without any problem in safe mode then you can deduce that some third-party software is causing the problem

Step 2: The System File Checker (SFC) utility allows administrators to perform an analysis of all protected resources to make sure they are the correct version. Whether SFC should find all incorrect versions in one of these protected resources, SFC will be replaced by the correct versions.

You can still run a SFC scan on the windows vista computer. To run a scan suite SFC as follows:

    a. Click Start, in the start search bar type cmd, right-click on the command prompt icon in the box programs and then click Run as administrator.

    b. at the command prompt type sfc/scannow , and then press ENTER.

Step 3: Run a scan online for any threat and try to fix them (in normal mode)

  • When I boot FireFox on the Mac, the error message 'well, it's embarrassing... ' appears view full page on the Tools menu.

When I boot FireFox for Mac (OS x 10.6.8), the error message 'well, it's embarrassing... ' back to PAGE VIEW covering the menu, tools, docking station, office,. Clicking on a 2 error message options 'restoration' or 'close' doesn't work. Since I can't access options menu under the eyes (and pressing 'ESC' does not display page, my only option is to force quit FireFox. I downloaded a cool FF program, but the same thing happens. How can I fix when I can't access the menu or tools, etc. ?
PS. I'm going to use Safari to send this message.

    Well, it's boring.

On Mac, command + shift + f should toggle the display between the ordinary and full screen. Does it work?

If you can still access the menu bar, one of the Firefox settings file may be damaged. Try this, assuming you have the main toolbar:

Open the settings folder (AKA Firefox profile) current Firefox help

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press enter/return

In the first table of the page, click on the button 'show in Finder '. This should start a new window listing the files and the folders.

Leave this window open, switch back to Firefox and output:

    • "3-bar" menu button > button "power".

Pause while Firefox finishing its cleanup, then rename xulstore.json to something like xulstore.old. If you see a file named localstore.rdf, rename this to localstore.old.

Launch Firefox back up again. Windows normally appear again?

I've tried troubleshooting not loading images and none of these options worked
If anyone has this problem or knows how to solve this problem, it would be a great help

I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, but the error persists. Then I did a restore and system several months ago, but the error persists. This does not happen with other programs.

Does anyone know how to get rid of it. If it has nothing to do with the registry, I'll have to let it be and switch to another browser.

  • I deleted by mistake my certificates. Now, I get the error messages trying to connect to gMail, eBay and my bank accounts, etc.

I recently did some "housekeeping" on my computer and for reasons known only to nini-gods, I delected all my security certificates. Now, when I try to log in to gmail, ebay, my bank accounts or any https:// site, I get a warning message "this connection is Untrusted." I click on the links provided to overcome the safety message, but whenever I return to the site I have to jump through all the hoops again. I see a small box that can be clicked to confirm security exception, but the little box that must be clicked to "make the permanent exception" is always grayed out. I know I'm on the right sites - have been using the links on the personal bar for years without problems. It started right after I deleted the certificates.

I've tried everything. Firefox RELOADED (use 3.6.4) deleted and reloaded the bookmarks, follow the instructions when I get the error message. Nothing works. As soon as I close the browser, and then go back online, I'm back to error messages.

    Can anyone help?

COR - el: thanks a lot for this solution. Everything works fine now.

However, I had a problem with deleting the files. I dragged to the trash, and then tried to access the sites in question and received the same message. I restarted the computer and when I checked the files I was dragged to the trash were right where they were before. The only file that are been trashed was the .txt file.

So I renamed them as you suggested and now everything works fine.

Thank you again once - I tried to understand by using the troubleshooting Firefox site, but your explanation was simple and easy to follow.

  • Firefox cannot find the xpcom.dll. The file is located on the directory of firefox, but I still get the error message

Firefox says that he can not find xpcom_core.dll. The file is all three directories, for example, firefox, thunderbird, and Sundial. The error occurs several times in a row.

    This has happened

    Each time Firefox opened

== from 3.6.3 has been installed

The file last xpcom_core.dll used in versions of Firefox 2.0.0.x and is more present and used in current versions of Firefox.

You seem to have a program or an add-on that is always looking for this file.

    You must uninstall this program.

  • How to fix the error message: xerces.dll is missing

You try to view a dvd, but when I go to play the dvd, I get an error message: xerces.dll is missing.  How can I solve this problem?

    Hello

    1. what operating system do you use?
2 are there any changes or updates made on the computer?
    3. are you able to read the DVD by cancelling the error message?
4 is the issue limited only when you try to play the DVD?

Try to play the DVD on another computer and check.

Xerces.dll error message can be caused by corruption in the Windows System.

Check out the link to use the System File Checker (SFC) tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files in Windows 7.

SFC/scannow is a very useful command that you can use in any version of Windows. When the SFC (System File Checker) command is used with the/scannow switch, the tool analyzes all the important files of Windows on your computer and replace if necessary.

Missing and the corruption of the operating system (like many DLLs) files are probably the main cause of the major problems of Windows. In view of this, plus the fact that the SFC /scannnow is completely automatic and very easy to use, the tool should usually be your first troubleshooting step.
