Trunking

Help, please

I can't configure my vlan Trunk to my r.620 and r820 1gbe broadcomm, cause the 10gbe-t used for iscsi base.

cannot some body give me the powerconnect running config. Thank you

These lines are not necessary, because it is in trunk mode and not generals

switchport acceptable-framework-type general only tag
switchport vlan allowed General remove 1

ISCSI traffic is probably the tag so the rest looks very good and is a static GAP, so he should try to connect without waiting the LACP packets. You link is turned on? Each of the ports work on their own?

  • How to use a single Ethernet interface as a 802. 1 q trunk with several logical addresses in Windows XP?

Here's my question (s).  I have a rack of equipment that is used in a lab environment (8 routers workgroup and workgroup switches 8).  I have that devices connected to a series of core (1 core router and 3 switches to base) devices.  On one of my basic switches, 24 port is configured as a trunk port, allowing 8 all working group devices to connect and use the TFTP services on a computer.  This is my issue starts.

My computer is a Dell Optiplex running Windows XP Professional SP3.  It has two physical Ethernet NIC cards, being a Broadcom NetExtreme 57XX and the other is a Linksys EG1032.  On the computer I was using before, Linksys NIC was subdivided into logic miniports and authorized for 802. 1 q trunking base switch.  It's how each workgroup devices then used services TFTP on the PC.  I need help in this reconfiguration on the current computer.

Can someone help me or point me in the direction of 'how to' articles?  Thanks in advance.

  • LGS308 Port Trunking Switch Cisco 3650

I have a Cisco 3650 switch I need to connect my Linksys LGS308 again. I have the port trunking install everything on the side of Cisco, however, I'm not very familiar with trunking on the side of Linksys. What should the configuration looks like on the side of Linksys? Currently, I installed port no. 1 port trunking, and all VLAN belong them to this port. Once I have save the configuration, I can access is no longer the switch. Any ideas?

The series of LGS Linksys has the same methodology VLAN that Cisco switches series SG.

Which means a Port marked as port VLAN Trunk will be no marked member (PVID) of a single VLAN and can have several VLAN Tag assigned.

    Example:

Cisco 3650: Port 1 set as a VLAN Trunk; PVID = 1 and tag VLAN 2,3,4

    LGS308: Port 1 set as a VLAN Trunk; PVID = 1 and tag VLAN 2,3,4; Management VLAN = 1,

The IP address of the subnet IP of VLAN1

  • Question on the trunks on SPA9000

When I call to my trunks DID number

Auto assist picks up the phone then I dial an extension or call and external number works fine

But I do not know why, with one of my tracks when I compose the fact of him and then the extension it works

but when I try to dial an external number he says samething like

"ip call do not outgoing sip numbers other than toll free numbers allow.

    And hungs call...

What I have to do is to call one of my DID and dial an external number my SIP dial plan.

    Is - this posible.

    Thank you

It seems that this error message is not a typical message given by the SPA-9000.  If you have checked if the numbering plan defined on the line for this DID and FXS or the extension of the line are defined correctly, this should allow you to dial a number out unless this was the CASE the account was configured by the VoIP provider, not to do. Try to test the account DID regularly on a regular SIP phone as the SPA-941 and see if you have the same result.

  • HP Procurve vlan voice with trunks

    Hi all

I am a trained guy cisco, so I try to transfer my knowledge to the HP Procurve switches but it takes a little help to obtain VLAN etc set up.

What I have is 4 switches, 3 at the access layer to the and 1 to the base and distribution.

I want that switches to a trunk of the base and distribution layer 2 interfaces access layer allows to increase the speed of 2 instead of 1 gigabit uplink. Also, I want is that 2 VLANS is set up for separate voice and data. I want that all ports to be able to take in charge a PC or a VOIP phone. I put the phones to automatically tag the tag of vlan for the vlan voice, but I want all traffic to forward the link to resources shared at the base and distribution layer.

From what I understand, so I need to:

Configure a network interface on the access and use of basic/distribution layer switches: b1 - b2 trk1 lacp trunk

Add VLAN for voice and data and assign vlan voice.

The problem I have is the tag-no identified parameters.

I tag vlan trk1 voice and set the priority of the qos to 6 and then comes to create the vlan data not marked on trk1?

the config I've written so far is:

    b1 - b2 trk1 lacp trunk
    show trunks
    spanning tree
spanning tree force version rstp operation
    voice VLAN 100 name
    voice
    Tagged trk1
    QoS priority 6
    data name VLAN 200
    not tagged trk1

is this correct or am I missing something here?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Unable to see 'add a trunk switchport allowed vlan' lines in the running-config

    Hello!

I use a configuration on a bunch of N3000 and N4000 switches (with firmware 6.3.x.x). I try to create the VLAN on the links and I am facing some problems (maybe).

In the configuration of the interface if I send the command 'trunk switchport allowed vlan add [vlan]' and check the running configuration I can't see the line.

The command show vlan shows VLAN seems them ok.

I have a few configuration files archive and in these cases him vlan said add visible function. What could be the cause of this difference?

    Hi Adam,.

OS6 is sometimes unpredictible :) Basically, you must use Add or remove the commands when you have got all the restrictions on the configured trunk.

switchport mode trunk add all the VLANS on trunk (including for example VLAN1) port. At this point, you can delete only the VLAN of the trunk. This is the reason why you don't see the configuration changes to the example runn.

Initially limit the VLAN allowed on trunk port starting with:

switchport trunk allowed vlan "vlan numers '

(eg. trunk allowed vlan switchport 10 with allowed vlan 10-25 range or after coma allowed vlan 10,11,15)

After that you can use Add or remove commands you want :)

  • Clarity on the Trunking Modes

    Hi all

This may seem trivial to most of you, but I even rolled my head around the dells.

I just noticed that my traffic vlan trunking on a SHIFT the evacuation for VLANs as unmarked rule.

I used the switchport mode trunk and allowed the VLAN necessary at both ends, from Cisco, it was what really should be done.

What else do I need to do on the dales to mark traffic VLAN and can be done during production without any waste of time?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

Thanks for the reply, in fact it seems, I watched the channel of port summary and all them VLAN are tagged.

I have focused on a singular interface in this vlan, which said it was without a label!

  • Trunk Vlan 1 on switch Dell 3524

    Hi all...

    Need help please!

I want to configure the VLAN 1 on dell 3524 because VLAN 1 has IP DHCP from the Mikrotik,

the default VLAN 1 trunk mode configuration?

    Thanks :)

By default, VLAN 1 is the VLAN native to an interface configured in mode switchport Trunk/general. If you want 1 VLAN tag, you need to change the VLAN native to something other than 1 and then tag VLAN 1.

    Example:

Console (config) # interface ethernet 1/e16

    Console switchport mode trunk #.

Console # switchport trunk vlan 99 native

Switchport trunk console # permit vlan add 1

You can also use the general mode.

    Example:

Console (config) # interface ethernet 1/e16

    Mode console # switchport general

Console # pvid general switchport 99

Console # switchport General allowed vlan add 1 tag

  • 6248P VOIP and issue of trunk

    Hello

I am swapping on an old Linksys switch which has our phones to VLAN our phones and computers on the 6248P switch.

I installed the 6248P for VLAN1 as PC and VLAN101 voice. Tagged 101 on the 40 port I test and left VLAN1 as not identified.

I have enabled voice VLAN and assigned the VLAN ID to 101 then on port settings change mode VLAN general and assigned PVID to 101.

47 port is port trunking and I put this as the trunk of port but the phone does not get an IP address from the Cisco 800.  I'm simply by changing the link to the Linksys to dell to test, but it doesn't work.

Can you advise me on the parameters of the Trunk and if this is true about what I've done.

I'm a newb on a network, but I hope it makes sense above

On the phone, you will need to check and make sure that the LDDP-MED is enabled. Then on the VLAN, and together the VLAN ID on the phone for VLAN 101. Here is a link on how to obtain these settings.

    http://bit.LY/1MG4x2h

Once those setting are updated the phone will announce the switch and should be on the voice VLAN. If the phone does not a recognition in return, he will then send executives marked for VLAN 101. Whether the end result will be that the phone is on VLAN 101.

Let us know if it works.

  • N3048 vlan trunk band guaranteed bandwidth

    Hello

Ive got 2 batteries of n3048 which will be connected by a link of fiber shds 1 Gbps, there are several local networks virtual on each stack and some of them I want trunk on the binding fiber.

an of vlan is for a balanced load diversely routed internet connection, there is a router on each site with 100 Mbps bandwidth, but also firewalls at each site that will be in the same vlan.

I don't want no internet to run slow because something is hogging the bandwidth on the shds, so the question is how can I guarantee 100 Mbps of traffic for vlan 10 through the shds with us other traffic crossing of vlan?

I have install other powerconnect switches and switches cisco with trunking VLANs between switches but I've ever done where I need to ensure a slice of bandwidth with QOS?

I'd appreciate any help or advice to achieve this

    Thank you very much

    Hi Daniel,.

Sorry for the late reply its been a bit choppy on other projects so just had time to test this out.

Here's what I ended up using in the config:

    Console (config) # class - match-all card VLAN_10_MATCH
    Console (config-WCPA) # match vlan 10

    Console (config) # VLAN_10_MARK policy-map on
    class console(config-Policy-classmap) # VLAN_10_MATCH

Console (config) # int item in gi1/0/48
    Console (Config-if-X/Y/Z) # classofservice trust dot1p
    Console (Config-if-X/Y/Z) # classofservice dot1p-mapping 5 3
    Console (Config-if-X/Y/Z) # cos - min - bandwidth tail 0 0 10 0 0 0 0
    Console (Config-if-X/Y/Z) # cos - queue strict
    Console (Config-if-X/Y/Z) # - political service on VLAN_10_MARK

I applied the same configuration for the trunk on two piles of switch port

Thanks for your help in pointing me in the right direction

I used jperf on 2 laptops in VLAN 10, 1 in each switch then your laptop on the other switch into a vlan with jperf mode server and 3 computers, send traffic using jperf him around the trunk and which seems to work well. ive tried run qos traffic vlan first and then maxing the bandwidth through the traffic trunk vlan qos not and then vice versa with traffic vlan qos to a already maxxed bandwidth through the trunk and he still gave him its bandwidth of 100 Mbps in both scenarios.

  • N2048 - VoIP QoS, data Ports and trunk Configurations

    Hi all

I am new here and also new to work with the Dell Networking hardware. I just need to some insights into setting up a new network, that I put. We use 3 switches to N2048 for access to data and VoIP. Each port will have only have only a phone or a client PC in different VLANS.

My question is what is the best configuration across all three powered to ensure that we have the optimum configuration for the quality of service for VoIP phones. Here is the configuration that I came up with this day.

    Global configuration

    VLAN, VoIP

    Voice port

    item in gi1/0/1 interface
    switchport mode access
    switchport access vlan 5
    VLAN 5 voices
    Voice vlan dot1p 5
    output

    Client port PC

    access mode swithport
    swithport access vlan 10

    Trunk Port

    Te1/0/1 interface
    switchport mode general
VLAN allowed switchport General add 5,10,100
    switchport General pvid 100
    VLAN 5 voices
    output

    Thanks for the comments

By default, the ports are configured to trust the priority of incoming user. So for your switch connections you can configure ports and trunk mode, there is no need to set general mode with VLANs voice, etc.

    switchport mode trunk

switchport trunk allowed vlan add 5, 10, 100

    switchport trunk vlan 100 native

For ease of deployment, I suggest to all the other general mode ports.

    switchport mode general

VLAN allowed switchport General add 5,10

    pvid switchport General 10

    VLAN 5 voices

With the general mode configuration, you can connect a client or a phone, or both at the same time, in a port. This will make things easy if later you decide to plug a phone in where a customer to reside.

In safe mode the PVID is 1 VLAN by default. You can do this by entering the command #switchport trunk vlan native {number of vlan}. If Cisco is configured to accept and send the marked packets and has an IP address in the subnet of VLAN 20, it should be able to communicate with other devices in VLAN 20.

  • Mapping of ports of the blade and Powerconnect M8024 - K Ayala switch 1 GB based Trunking

    Hello world

    Nice day!

We have a recent deployment of server blade to one of our customer and we met a challenge regarding the following:

-How are we going to map the internal blade to the Powerconnect M8024-K NIC. Port 1-16 is for VLAN 1000. PowerConnect M8024-k is configured with module additional uplinks (GB 2 x 10 base-T). What is the module has the ability to auto negotiate to 1 GB. We want to use this port for connections to the switch avaya 1 GB Ethernet based. The port of internal network to blade port 1-16 must go through this port goes to the external network (switch Avaya)

-Do we really need to configure for this port. Is 10 GB base-T port has the features of auto-negotiation up to 1 GB

    Thanks for your help

    copilot0929

Here are some documents that detail the M1000e IO options and internal correspondence of ports.

    http://Dell.to/18bLMEg

    http://Dell.to/1KqY1ux

The M8024k will automatically negotiate 1/10 GB for all internal ports. SFP 4 external / SFP ports + are has several ports support 1/10 GB speeds. The external ports also need a transceiver that supports the speed you want to use.

VLAN tagging is used when needing to send traffic to several VLANs over a single connection. If everything on the chassis will be in the same VLAN, then you should not have to put in place a trunk. But if you need the chassis to participate in several VLANs, so it is better to configure the VLAN Trunk on that connection.

  • VLAN Trunking between 6248 and 2848

    Hello

I have a Powerconnect 6248 switch connected to a 2848 and I try to get a VLAN on the 2848.

VLAN working and properly receive DHCP addresses, traffic lanes and DNS runs on the 6248.

The Protocol DHCP, DNS server is connected to port 1 on the 6248.

When I create a Trunk port on 3 the 6248 Port, allow all VLANS through it, creating a trunk on port 1 of the 2848 on VLAN10 and try to plug in devices inside, they can see all other devices connected to the L3 switch.

The two switches are running the latest firmware and the L3 on his own works as expected. I can't get any kind of circuits working at L2, tried with normal cable and crossover switch.

Here is the config of the L3 6248. Switch 2848 L2 has a blank canvas with 10 VLANS created on ports 1,2,3,4 with port 1 as the trunk port installation.

Any ideas pleeease? Anyone? It drives me crazy.

After turning off spanning tree on the 2848, all works now.

    VLAN, trunking everything.

    Thanks for the help! :)

I hope that if someone else can use what it took me ages to develop. I plugged on Netgear switches etc and they seem to work.

The issue was going on between the dell 6248 and 2848, Spanning tree is enabled on the default 2848. If I was going to the Netgear via the 6248, then at the 2848 switches worked.

My config on the l3 also works very well if someone would use :)
