Try importing bookmarks from an HTML file
When I do this: # Firefox will ask you to select the file on your hard drive to import bookmarks. Navigate to the file, select it and click the Open button.
- This does not happen: # bookmarks in the selected HTML file will be added to your Firefox bookmarks in the bookmarks Menu directory.
Is there bookmarks in this file?
You can open the HTML file in a tab in Firefox via file > open a file?
Do you get any error messages?

How can I restore my bookmarks from an HTML file?
I just installed Ubuntu 11.04, and I want to restore my bookmarks from an HTML file.
This used to be accessible through the "bookmarks - > organize bookmarks ' menu item 'Organize bookmarks' no longer exists so I'm stuck.
This help system seems to think that there is, however, so please note that on my system, it isn't. I suspect that hundreds, thousands or even millions of new users of Ubuntu 11.04 will have exactly the same problem.
I don't think that users will be able to help with this one, unless someone knows how to restore the menu item 'Organize Favorites '. It is the only one that will do what I want and so there is no point recommending "Show all bookmarks" as a solution. It does not work.
Finally, persuade this system that I don't really have a new problem that are not addressed in the FAQ section has been a very irritating experience. I wonder if Chrome will know what to do with my file "bookmarks.html"?
"Bookmarks > organize bookmarks ' has been renamed to"show all bookmarks"in Firefox 4.
If the menu bar is hidden, and then click the Firefox button to open the Firefox menu and click the bookmarks entry or click "Show all bookmarks" to open the library.

How to import bookmarks from a json file?
I have Firefox 23.0.1.
I am trying to import Firefox bookmarks from a json on another disk file and merge it with my existing bookmarks.
I have only options to import an html file. I can also use food to put in the file, but it will overwrite my current bookmarks, and I would like to merge the two.
I found a solution. I exported my bookmarks current in the form of HTML file and restored then my favorites using the JSON file, thus overwriting my existing bookmarks. Then I was able to import the HTML file and merge the two lots of bookmarks.

I am currently using Firefox on my desktop or portable 38.0 and need to import my favorites of the laptop on my desk which also has Firefox 38.0. Please provide details on how to perform this procedure.
Thank you

Pretty simple and easy, not only are there alternative methods, as is often the case in computing, but different methods produce different results.
Aid articles have more complete explanations with step by step instructions and screenshots. You have the choice of four methods depending on what you're trying to reach. Ask you what set of bookmarks is the largest and most complex?
Import and export of the a.)
This adds bookmarks. It spikes on the existing ones. (For example, if the laptop: unsorted, folder of bookmarks and bookmarks are now additional folders in the existing desktop bookmarks menu.)
Useful to simply do what you asked: export the Favorites of the laptop and import those on the desktop.
However, if the office is new and has only a few bookmarks on it, but the laptop has the major then consider- Export of the desktop as a HTML file.
- Backup of the laptop to create a .json file
- Restore the .json laptop on the desktop file.
- Follow-up to import HTML file
- Office has now all the bookmarks of the laptop, as well as his own originals
See
- Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file for backup or transfer bookmarks
- Importing bookmarks from an HTML file
(B) backup and restore
This procedure by report written all existing bookmarks. He retained the structure of folders and bookmark labels. Ideal if bookmarks of laptop are the only ones that you care. Or combine the two methods, as suggested above.(C.) manually replace the bookmarks and the historical database.
Not what you asked but that also gets the history information.
This is useful if you often rely on the addessbar acting as the awesomebar- Backup and restore Firefox profiles information
- Awesome Bar - Find your Firefox bookmarks, history, tabs in the address bar
(D.) sync
An alternative is to use Firefox Sync. Who should ensure that the laptop and the Office have the same bookmarks.
However if you do this save your bookmarks manually before the first sync bookmarks. I highly recommend that if synchronize you bookmarks you make regular manual backups too, because Sync itself can sometimes corrupt and duplicates of bookmarks. (If you do not notice this corruption quickly you can't have automated bookmarks that are free of corruption.) -
I have a desktop Mac running 10.7.5 and tries to import favorites from Firefox on an old Mac running 10.3.9. I exported the file to bookmarks to a file html with success and copied this file to the new Mac.
The suggestion of using Firefox, I then tried to import the bookmarks into the html file but when I went to the bookmarks toolbar, there is no import option of any kind shown to proceed to the next step. What's wrong? In bookmarks (library) Manager is a tool bar with back and next button and three other buttons (organize, view, import, and backup).
- The first button (gear) is organizing with base change the menu items for the bookmarks
- The second button is the button in the view which allows you to change the sort order for the visualization of the purpose (sort is not permanently).
- The third button (Star) is the import and backup button that allows to save and restore a JSON backup and import and export an HTML backup and import bookmarks from other browsers.
Place each button to display the ToolTip or click on each one to see what they do.

I know this has been asked before but similar issues has been shown to me before were over a year old and the users were still on v3.n and since we are now on v16.n I thought I should probably ask just in case anything has changed. It seems that if I use a bookmarks HTML file then must be added instead to crush the bookmarks on the destination computer. Is this always the case? Thank you.
Import of bookmarks in a HTML file will merge bookmarks in HTML file in your existing bookmarks; you lose nothing, but it may result in bookmarks double if even the bookmark is already in your bookmarks and is also in the HTML file.
The restoration of a JSON file bookmarks won't replace your existing bookmarks.

I find the program file for Lightroom 5 and make an icon of office for him. And I would get rid of Lightroom 3. If you open Lightroom 3 and you see images in the old catalog, not the updated one.

Firefox 15.0.1 cannot import bookmarks from Safari 6.0.1
Hello
Firefox 15.0.1 cannot import bookmarks from Safari 6.0.1.
I followed the steps below:
(1) all bookmarks in Safari to export to a file (file-> export bookmarks) HTML
(2) import bookmarks into Firefox (bookmarks-> Show all bookmarks-> import and backup-> import bookmarks in HTML)Firefox seems to load the HTML file, but never bookmarks appear in Firefox.
Any thoughts of why this is happening?
Best,
Jaime. -.
You need to remove all the attributes of FOLDED into H3 tags with a text editor.
Then the import should work.See also page 2 [932927/questions/932927]
