  • When you try to install Windows XP SP3, I get an error that I need to have service pack 1 installed first.

    Upgrate XP problems

    Hello

I have an older version of XP (2002) and I just reinstalled after formatting my drive. I have problems to update to sp3. I get the error: at a minimum, you must have installed SP1. If I try to install sp1a hang it up because there is no response from the server. Can you help me please?

If you have JUST done a clean install, read on. (Otherwise after return, especially if you have already installed anti-virus software.)

    SP1a is totally useless.

You can use this upgrade path:
Gold XP to XP SP2 to XP SP3.
    Here are the detailed instructions:

    1. download the installation of SP2, SP3 and IE8 files. I prefer to keep these on a USB key, but this is optional. Here are the links to all the installation of three files:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?ID=28 (for SP2)

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?ID=24 (for SP3)

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&ID=43 (for IE8)

And if you wish, download the Setup file of a good anti-virus program. I recommend Avira free Antivirus:

    http://www.Avira.com/en/Avira-free-antivirus

Other good antivirus programs include Avast and MSE (both free):

    http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/products/security-essentials

    2. disconnect Internet.

    3. temporarily disable the automatic updates.

    4. install SP2. Restart TWICE.

5 install the SP3. Restart TWICE.

6 switch to IE8. Restart TWICE.

    7 install an Antivirus software.

(What happens very often is that someone has their software antivirus running as they try to install SP3, which often translates into chaos! "This is why it must be done after installing SP3 and IE).

8 make sure that firewall Windows is activated (it should be).

(Now you can physically reconnect to the Internet.)

9 visit Windows Update to download and install only the critical security updates.

10 re - enable automatic updates.

After the back if you need guidance.

I would say you can try a different virus scanner (such as a scanner online) just to check that you don't have a problem with virus\malware.  Here are some links that can help with this:
    Get rid of malware
Can I clean an already infected computer?

Then, you must perform a clean boot on your system and then try to install SP3.

  • Try to install CS3 Premium

I'll buy Premium CS3. The person selling it made me the license transfer, even if I waited 3 weeks for an email on this subject and it didn't happen (from Adobe).

So, I thought I would try it anyway. He sells me his sequence of complete upgrade, PS5.5, premium CS2 and CS3 Premium, so I can follow the same path he did. Yes, it has disabled and uninstalled everything.

He also sent me the list of registered applications, a screenshot of his account. It shows that he had PS5.5 and CS2 Premium registered - it looks like it didn't save Premium CS3.

So, I installed CS3 - no luck. At the end of the process I was invited for the CS3 sn, fine, it works. So I wonder for an eligible sn, the CS2 sn has been accepted. Then I was asked to enter a 2nd sn, CS2 upgrade qualification. All I have is the upgraded version, which has been accepted as full version, but not as an upgrade. Don't have a different serial number, not offered choices more.  Even though I have autonomous PSCS2 entirely legally installed (registered under my business account). Oh and PS7, if that's important. Also completely legal.

OK, uninstall CS3 (correctly) and start over.

Install the CS2. All right. It installs, using the sn of PS5.5 as well. Sign me up I enabled it.

-The transfer must be OK and legitimate, or I couldn't have registered, right? Because it has BEEN registered for the guy who sells for me. I have proof. And I have just registered it. Yes, by using the correct email address.

Try to install CS3, without uninstalling CS2 again.

    CS3 serial number is accepted.

BUT now I need the sn for CS2.3 Premium continue. Not CS2. This one is rejected. Must be CS2.3.

So I'll open a question in the support - but I can only ask a question about my products registered - which would have been, do not include CS2!

Until I get home phone hell, can anyone place a flaw in all this?

I had the same problem. I was sent to the wrong upgrade. I just called Adobe and they generate code, you can enter you can complete the installation and activate it. Ask a supervisor. If everything has been transferred to your name and you need CS3 I don't understand why they can't help you.
