try to listen to music in stereo

I'm trying to listen to music wirelessly from a laptop (windows 7) to my old stereo. I want to control playlists, etc. of the laptop, Windows Media Player or Windows Media Center and leave the volume control to the stereo. I am able to do this now by plugging the plug for headphones in the cassette in the receiver. My question is, what type of wireless device do I need? Seems that Microsoft wants to buy an xbox or something. I do not of game, etc and just like something simple and as inexpensive as possible. Closest thing I've seen, it's the Apple AirPort Express. Still a bit pricey and I'm a bit wary of mixing apples and windows... But it looks like it could work, just plug the audio cable BOF receiver on the headphone jack of the airport and maybe I'm good to go? I have a wireless network running on a netgear N300 on slow DSL variety (1.3/3), a desktop computer (Vista) and the laptop. Any suggestions appreciated.

After receiving the Audioengine W1 and try for 3 days, I can say that it works very well. Easy installation and excellent audio quality sounds. I found that it the best way to use it with a computer is to set the device to Audioengine speakers by default, then just unplug the transmitter and let them President to return to the computer speakers. The dongle hanging out on the side of the laptop makes me a little paranoid when moving around, but it is mounted so as to provide protection against shocks. Could be a little cheaper but it does not work as advertised.

  • How to use express airport when I have the cable modem? you want to listen to music in stereo.

Hi all, this issue is driving me crazy. the goal was to use an Airport Express station to listen to the music of my devices in my stereo and a DAC to warm up the sound, but do not know how to connect because I have a cable modem my network on. I just want to use airport express to broadcast in stereo. I asked 3 people at the apple store today, and they seemed just as I asked them how to build a House from the ground. they had no idea. did someone hear doing this specific process? Thanks for any input.

I understand the process of putting in place the DAC, is just the thing of the whole network that creates confusion. Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this.

You can have one or the other hard connected (wired) network or a WiFi to your airport, but you can't have both. Unplug your ethernet cable from your Mac. Now, you'll be on a Wi - Fi on all devices. Reset your AE and use the installation wizard. Otherwise most suppliers of cable modems that with wi - fi for which they charge you an additional monthly cost.

  • Why can I not use "play to" listening to music in network folders?

This really should not be this difficult.

I have a router (asus RT-N66U) and a drive hard usb connected to it (WD Mybook).  Hard disk is full of files mp3 music.

I use WMP12 to play that music on any of the computers connected to the network (Win7 anytime running - a few laptops and one desktop).

Also connected to the wireless router is a dlna receiver who returns to my entertainment system.  Using of "play to" I can listen to music from any of my computers connected to the dlna receiver and so in the entertainment system.  Yay!  Party!

But, the music that I can "play to" the dlna receiver is locally the music stored on the COMPUTER DOING THE STREAMING.  Whenever I try to listen to music from the shared hard drive connected to the router I get the game - to the error message "Unable to retrieve information about the media on the media server".  This isn't a problem with the codecs - I can copy the music to one of the hard disks in the computer, then use to play and it works very well.  Why play in cannot the apparently simple task (and obviously necessary) streaming of files from the shared to the receiver dlna network drive?

I tried to turn off and then back on the file sharing multimedia WMP and services UPnP - no change.  I tried to add a registry entry for the media sharing - no change.  I tried to disable firewall on the computer and the router - no change.

Should I really go to Apple and use airplay, which seems to handle this kind of thing very easily and intuitively?

Bottom line, it is related to DLNA and indexing.

If you have WD network devices which have Twonky and activate Twonky,
You can get the game to / DLNA to work.
    has the details.

I do not know if you enable the DLNA server on the router
a feature that is necessary, but it's something you should try.

My macbook air 13-inch running OS X El Capitan 10.11.4 version seems to have problems of volume. Whenever I'm listening to music or watching something volume continues to go up. I turn down, but it will just continue to mount it again. I let him join max once and I noticed even the thing volume kept popping up like I'm pressing the volume button constantly. This is quite annoying, because I have to keep turning down and sometimes it will increase very fast blow my eardrums.

  • iPhone 6s won't let me listen to music bought without cellular data or wifi turned on?

iPhone 6 s more.  Over my limit of data so I turned off the cell data.  out of range of wifi.  Try to listen to my purchased music in my iTunes library and it says I have to have a wifi connection or activate cellular data to listen to him.  I could listen to purchased music without a connection in the past - for example, on an airplane.  Cannot understand what has changed and why it won't let me.  Thank you!

It seems that songs are not actually downloaded to your phone. To avoid any confusion on what is on your phone or not, activate 'Only downloaded music'. To do this, open the music application and go to the music of my tab click on the button that says: artists, Albums, songs, music videos, Genres, composers, or Compilations. Tap on "Only the music downloaded" so that the switch is in green.

Now the only music displaying the app will be those stored on your phone. You may need to download your songs again.

  • In Windows Media Player when I try to listen to a CD that I pulled it out of my computer, a new tab opens in Firefox "license cannot be downloaded because your Web browser is not supported.

I use Windows Media Player 11 and I have Internet Explorer 8 is installed on XP Pro and when I try to listen to a CD that I pulled it out of my computer, a new tab opens in Firefox (my default browser), with the following message:

The license can not be downloaded because your Web browser is not supported.
To download a license, you must install Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or later.
To install the latest version of Internet Explorer, see the Windows Update page.

What do I need any type of license to, to listen to music, I ripped a CD I bought, and furthermore that the browser has to do with what ever automated procedure Microsoft Media Player must perform?

Suspecting that not having IE selected as the default browser might be interfering, I did so (something I'm not impressed about) and instead, was taken through to a Windows Media Technologies page http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/pdrm/en/welcome.asp?challenge=AAEAAZB*vUQ029QDmL5QfLzVnjGCf9din34fu*twoJQKPK0Agme7r3JqmhpZNJIHdVJ3JF20CQEtGSO6im53G7MUAjceYDRQUZXp2ghI5bYyB7kJjpvQoHFJNtNRWAvEXvv!fk7GbENwhn1K0gzMvWstLFBf3Esp9laOTsOCLqO7FqCfeYinJkeEGUevauivoM3NLAJOP4exrtgQX4zeRcujxi7W7AmLGDNRhh2qEgP1WmXh2PkzNZXwSn3QznsTK8!up58P10sX&DRMVer=1.4&embedded=false that provided some information about Licensing and Migrations and offered the opportunity to Download a License.  However, after selecting this button has encountered an error: 438 unknown error occurred when you store your license.

Where are the stored licenses and why this is happening with all the music I have on my computer?

I would appreciate an overview of this and especially a viable solution.  Thanks for your time.

I wonder if I can listen to music on the music player app while I watch videos on youtube, because everytime I try to automatically do the music stops. Is it possible to disable it?

No, both will try to use the speaker at the same time, perhaps there are apps on google game that allow this, but I don't think it's possible.
