    they do it for a nominal cost of $

    or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc

    Or try these methods.

    You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

    They should do this for a small fee.

    ______________________________________________________

    Install another operating system could destroy this option:

    And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery on the drive Partition hard reinstall Windows how much you bought your computer.

    The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

    Them or us ask the right sequence of key.

    The methods above resettlement generally do not require allows you to provide a product key during Installation, the recovery process uses the Installation product key factory to activate automatically during the resettlement process.

  • downgrade from windows 7 to vista home basic. Oh hp laptop

    I bought the computer hp laptop dv5 recently the config. is 3 GB of ram, 250 GB HDD, processor turion, ati radeon HD3450 & card mother amd. I have the query that, initially, the operating system installed on my machine was vista home basic 32-bit. then after I've updated in windows 7 RC1 now I want to downgrade in Vista Home Basic Edition again. can u tell me the ways on how to do with this thing. my need is I want a downgrade frm 7 to vista home basic and I don't want to do a clean install of Vista Home Basic, because I have my entire data on drive c. ND it's hard for me to backup large amounts of data. I have also 2 discs of recovery came with my laptop. In addition to this, please tell me if I can move from 32-bit vista to 64-bit according to the config. given above.

    You must do a clean install to Windows Vista Home Basic to Windows 7.

    External hard drives are a good way to back up large volumes of data

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Vista 32-bit to 64-bit Vista is NOT an upgrade path.
    You will need to BUY a FULL 64 bit Vista operating system version and do a CLEAN install of it.
    Ask the manufacturer of your computer are them, 64-bit versions of Vista support in your model of laptop.
  • Invalid key for Activation product: reformatted PC from Windows XP to Vista Home Basic
    Our computer was initially using Windows XP. After a few problems which included the same office not loading, we have reformatted it and used Windows Vista Basic Home Edition because the CD with our Dell Inspiron 6000 had compatible drivers for Vista. Now the problem is 30 days elapsed is activation thing and now my computer is in reduced functionality mode (I had no idea it would happen). Windows does not accept the product key for XP. What should I do now?
    You need a valid product key for Vista - Vista product you purchased should have (but it seems that you did not actually buy a Vista product for the PC).  If you used a Vista CD from another computer that doesn't have that Vista is installed, you cannot use this product key the key can be used on one computer at a time.  You need to buy a disc of Installation of Vista with a product key (or just a product key valid).  Frankly, I don't know where you can get one of those these days.  Microsoft Store is not wearing it.
    The only other choice is to reinstall XP. Contact the manufacturer and they may be able to sell the recovery disc for a small fee and you can use those with the product key of Xp on the computer to restore the conditions of the factory as a Xp computer.
    Sorry we can not help you more, but these are the options.  You can try searching Google and Bing for people selling copies of Vista (but don't forget that they are copies of the retail and not OEM copies - or even with the product key they selll you you will not be able to activate because and OEM license is only good on the computer on which the software has been installed initially and cannot be transferred to any other computer).
    Good luck!
  • Windows complete PC Restore on Vista Home Basic, how to create a system disk image
    In the menu system for Vista Home Basic Recovery Options, there is an option to make a "Windows complete PC Restore". The description of this option says "restore your entire server or personal computer from a backup image. Well, sounds wonderful. My problem is to find the software to create a backup image of my personal computer first. I tried to create an image of my system disk by looking at the "Backup and restore" software that comes with Vista Home Basic. I couldn't find something that was talking about creating an "image" of my system drive. Only the options to back up the disks. Microsoft use the terms 'backup' and 'image' fairly loosely or as interchangeable terms? Im a little confused. My ultimate goal is to create a disk image of my system can be restored very quickly in the menu options of Vista Home Basic System Recovery.     I guess I'll answer my own question. It seems that Vista Home Basics to create an image of the system has been paralyzed. OK, so I'll look using free Microsoft imagex utility then.     Hey cinpul330
    You cannot use recovery CD to reset your password
    you need to reinstall vista using these cds you did
    boot from the first cd and follow the instructions to reinstall vista
    Additionally, you may not get help in these forums to retrieve your forgotten password because it is against the policy of microsoft to do
