trying to upgrade from windows 7 Home Edition premium professional windows7, trying to upgrade, but then the error message indicates that no matter when to not create a restore point.  I then follow the instructions on how to open a restore point and it still does not work.  Help

I would suggest you stop and restart the following services:

Shadow copy volume

Windows backup

After that, you can temporarily uninstall the antivirus and rerun Windows Anytime Upgrade again to boot .

Click Start, type: services

Press enter

Scroll down and select each service, stop and restart again.

    Looking for a difference in numbers/Service Pack levels.

    If Service Packs came pre-installed on the operating system, there is no way to uninstall them.
    You will need to swap the disk to upgrade to a later version that includes the missing Service Pack.

    On your installed operating system Service Pack level cannot be greater than what is on the disk to upgrade.

    Click Start > right click on computer > properties > system > it will tell you which SP you have installed.

    A couple of weeks ago, I bought a Samsung PC with Windows 7 Home Premium pre-installed PC world. At the same time, I also bought an Anytime Upgrade to Windows 7 Professional that I installed. When I click on computer/properties, which shows that I am running Windows 7 Professional. When I try to activate Windows using the product key that is specified in the properties of the computer it is rejected as invalid.     Do a upgrade Express from Home Premium to professional would have required that you enter the product key Windows 7 Professional before. So, if you are running Windows 7 Professional now based on operating an Express upgrade, the license must already be enabled, or you can use the activation option, see the following:

  • It keeps rejecting my product key! (upgrade from Vista home premium 32 bit to Windows 7 64-bit).

    Thus, as the title past Windows is not accepting my new Windows 7 product key. I bought the product key and copy (at the same time of course) of my college, as I am a computer SCIENCE student is trying to catch up.     When running Windows Anytime Upgrade in Windows 7 Edition Family Premium to professional, there is an error message "Windows any when the upgrade was unable to create a restore point. Enable the system restore to the drive that contains your Windows Installation & try again. "But the applears message even after recovery & C: partitions were lit for the Protection of the system.  My laptop Dell Inspiron came with Home Premium installed, I can assume that Windows Installation resides in the recovery partition?

    You can use the Windows Anytime Upgrade program, that s no problem and it makes no difference if you use this tool or a full version of Windows 7 Professional. The result is always the same => an upgrade to Home Premium to professional.

    Theoretically, you can make a completely new installation if you buy a copy of Windows 7 Professional, but I n t see a reason for this. An upgrade also works.

    But the question is: do you need the features they are provided with the professional version?

    I've recently upgraded to Vista Home Premium 64 for windows 7 Ultimate.  When I click on Windows update after the installation, I get a blank screen that represents only a trace 'control panel-windowns update"and do not minimize or access the icons on my screen.  I can always get on the internet and open programs, but this screen blakn is on my page icon.  Incications are just running the program, but it displays 0 complete after 1 hour.

    From your computer by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs so that you can determine if a background program is interfering with your game or program. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot".

    The message of PXE boot that you receive when you start your computer has nothing to do with your CD/DVD-Rom drive. Your computer uses a PXE boot method to attempt to load Windows from a location on your network. Since you do not have this configuration, it is safe to ignore it. If it slows down the startup time of your system, contact your manufacturer and ask them for instructions on how to "disable PXE Network Boot of the BIOS.

    Lol you cannot use Anytime Upgrade upgrading Vista to Windows 7.   The Vista program to THE was the upgrade of a Vista edition to a higher edition of Vista only.  The Vista program to THE ended when Vista was removed from retail sales.  It has never been free.

    THE present program is to upgrade an edition of Windows 7 to a superior and is only available to current users of Windows 7.

    I bought a copy the retail of Windows 7 premium (updated version) upgrade on Vista Home Premium SP2on my 3 yr old HP Pavilion Desktop on 22/10/2009. Vista has been installed at the factory. The PC more than meets all hardware reqs. I tried 4 or 5 times to upgrade the operating system on this PC & it runs fine until the process to halfway in step 5 in the upgrade and stops. I forgot the exact message, but it's like 'cannot be upgraded pc, abandoned process, will now restore the Vista installation. After this x 4-5 in the last seven days, I'm sick of what's going on. I've been building & PC repair & installation, configuration, and upgrade Windows since Windows 3.1 and Dos operating system. The Win 7 installation routine is so demanding that if all the program requirements are not met (for the latter)-it just stops and is abandoned. I've never had this kind of trouble before. NEVER Yes, I use the on-line support docs & Software Advisor compatibility. I've never seen an OS that just works! Absolutely amazing!  I also tried this on my computer Lenovo laptop lastnight - same thing!

    Thanks for the information. You said you ran Upgrade Advisor several times on both machines. This show no error every time? Also, I would recommend unisntalling any antivirus that you have currently and to help clean up the provided utilities if any, of the antivirus manufacturer. In addition, unplug all unnecessary devices such as printer, network cable or any other devices you have.
