Trying to access a scanner on the network

I have a wireless set up at home and shared the printer/scanner already. I can find it & print it from any computer on the network. However only the computer, it is physically connected to will allow me to scan anything. Is there anything further needed to be able to scan as well an impression on the network?

    Hi Katmandu774,

    Welcome to Microsoft Answers Forums.

The Public folder is a convenient way to share files that are stored on your computer. You can share files in this folder with other people using the same computer and with people using other computers on the same network. Any file or folder you put in the folder Public is automatically shared with the people who have access to your Public folder.

If you are not on a domain, you can limit network access to the Public folder so that people with a user account and password for this computer. To do this, turn on sharing protected by password.

    1. Open the network and sharing Center by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, click network and Internet, click network and sharing Center.
    2. Click the arrow next to password protected sharing, and then click one of the following options:

    ·         Turn on password protected sharing

    ·         Turn off password protected sharing

    1. Click apply. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

To control the level of access to the Public folder

    1. Open the network and sharing Center by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, click network and Internet, click network and sharing Center.
    2. Click the arrow next to public folder sharing, and then click one of the following options:

    ·         Turn on sharing so anyone with network access can open files

    ·         Turn on sharing so anyone with network access can open, change and create files

    ·         Turn off sharing (people logged on to this computer can still access this folder)

    1. Click apply. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Also, make sure you add everyone to the public folder and give the necessary permissions to access it.

  • How to access multiple VMs on the network with nic 1 host?

    Greetings,

I have a server vmware running windows XP with 3 virtual machines in suse. I would like to access the 3 virtual machines from the network at the same time. The vm 3 has their own static ip address. I use the bridge network mode. There is only 1 NETWORK card on the XP computer. With this configuration, I can access only 1 vm the network at a time. When I added an another NIC and jumpered it on a second computer, virtual, then I can access 2 at the same time.  Any ideas on how I can access all the vm 3 at the same time on the network with just 1 NETWORK card?

Even if you only have a physical NETWORK adapter, you should be able to access all the guests at the same time when they use bridged networking and have a correct IP configuration. Can you put your host IP configuration and your guests so we can check it out. Make sure the guests are really "bridged" and disable all firewall during the test.

  • I try to do the Task Scheduler open an Access 2007 DB on the network

    Hello

    Any help with this one?

I have a DB of 2007 access on a shared folder on the network.  I want 4 users to be able to start and DB that open when they are connected.

It works when you schedule the execution of a program that is located on the local disk, for example, open Notepad or a other prog.

    When I do the following...

Create the new task (no base)

Open task DB name > run when the user logged on (they must be in any case) use with the highest privileges = yes > Configure to Vista or server 2008 (using Small Business SERVER 2003 and Vista Bus)

Relaxation > in the journal to start GOLD > specific user or group (ME) check box selected = Yes

    Action > start a program > Browse to the program/script = x player database - name.accdb

Conditions - no defined (of course supply sector)

Settings > allow the task runs at the request - stop after three days (again, I'm not that long!)

Click RUN to see if it works. Nothing happens

All suggestions, anyione has done something similar?

Tried several variations on the settings, still no joy.

    Thanks in advance. McP

  • Error "you don't have permission to access \\Mike-PC\c. Contact your network administrator to request access." When you try to access a computer on the network

    Original title:

There are three computers in my office. Both run Windows 7 Edition Home Premium and the third is running Windows 7 Professional.
I am trying to allow access to files on the computers of Home Premium. I go to 'Network' and open the other computer, but he said "You are not allowed access. \\Mike-PC\c contact your network administrator to request access." I went to Mike-PC computer to 'Share' this folder then joined the homegroup even / working group and everything in 'Advanced sharing' in the 'network and sharing Center', but it does still not activated.

The Professional Windows 7 computer successfully ' "shared folders and the other two computers can read / write files, but not the other way around.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

1 are these computers using a homegroup or working group?

    2. were you able to share files earlier?

3 have had it all changes to computers, before the show?

    Method 1:

Refer to the suggestion provided by Jack MVP on January 25, 2011, in the following link.

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/Windows_7-networking/you-do-not-have-permission-to-access-pcname/baa06630-4d3d-4ba2-837a-b087bd21cdb3

    Method 2:

Disable the firewall and security software and check.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off

Note: Runs the computer without antivirus software or firewall is a potential threat to the computer; don't forget to activate the security software after completing the troubleshooting steps and after you have identified the problem.

Well, I totally forgot the keyword "log" and NAT:

Cisco IOS NAT support ACLs with a keyword "log"?

    A. When you configure Cisco IOS NAT translation dynamic NAT, an ACL is used to identify the packages that can be translated. The current NAT architecture does not support the ACL with a keyword "log".

    http://www.Cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/IP/network-address-translation...

If your problem is not the mask with joker, but the command "log"...

  • I'm trying to access all sites gives the warning (error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)

This affects my computer only profile (windows 8) and only on Firefox. I disabled SSL on AVG as help pages suggest and tried to reinstall, both without effect. Someone knows how to fix this?

Check the date and time and time zone in clock of your computer: (double) click on the clock icon in the Windows taskbar.

Find out why the site is not approved, then click on "Technical Details" to expand this section.
If the certificate is not reliable because no issuer channel was provided (sec_error_unknown_issuer) and then see if you can install the intermediate certificate from another source.

You can retrieve the certificate and check details such as WHO issued the certificates and the expiration dates of certificates.

    • Click on the link at the bottom of the error page: "I understand the risks".

Let Firefox recover the certificate: "Add Exception"-> "get certificate".

    • Click on the "view..." button. "and inspect the certificate and the Coachman, who is the issuer of the certificate.

You can see more details like the intermediate certificates that are used in the details pane.

If "I understand the risks" is missing, then this page can be opened in a (i) frame and in this case, try the shortcut menu and use "Frame this: Open image in New Tab".

    • Note that some firewall monitors connections (sure) and that programs like Sendori or FiddlerRoot can intercept connections and send their own certificate instead of the certificate of the Web site.
    • Note that it is not recommended to add a permanent exception in such a case, so only use it to inspect the certificate.
  • Trying to access local resources in the RDS, the resources of the user session only 1 shows

I'm developing an application to be able to copy files to the local drive of the user to a RD.  I Remote Desktop of the user defined options to put their C: drives the RD session on two remote computers.  When I connect the server from a remote computer, I can see his drive C: in the left pane of Windows Explorer.  When I connect with each other, however, the C: drive of the computer is not indicated, and I can't access it.

My application will have multiple simultaneous users, most of the time, and some of the programs need to return data to their respective local computers.  Is there something I'm missing, or there at - it another way to do this programmatically or by command line Copy?

    Hello

Your question of Windows is more complex than what is generally answered in the Microsoft Answers forums. It is better suited for the IT Pro TechNet public. Please post your question in the Remote Desktop Services forum. You can follow the link to your question:

  • Module is trying to access a secure API - the reinstallation of Signature keys...

    Hello

ATER, a problem that I have to reinstall my eclipse + jde plugin, as a result of this relocation, I also need to ask new .csi file in order to resinstall also Signature keys.

After receiving 3 new csi files, signature keys has been successfully installed.

Now, I have no problem when I run a ' build and sign Blackberry Widget Project ", that I get every time that a" SUCCESS BUILDING "result.»

The problem is when I execute the widget on a real device, after the launch of the application whenever I get a "Module to access a secure API attempts" then the request has failed.

    Feature: Storm 2 9529 worm 5.0.0.306 (platform)

For your information before my new installtion of the eclipse + JDE widget built with previous keys and the previous eclipse running on the same device that above.

I did not change my source code, I try just to check if the application still running with the new keys and the new Eclipse + JDE.

Does anyone have an idea what's wrong?

Looks like you need another set of files of csi.

Before installing your new keys delete all files sigtool.csk, sigtool.db and sigtool.set on your PC.  This will clear your previous code signing keys.

So be sure to install each of the 3 csi files in the mansion even to make sure that all are installed in the same development tool.

  • Looking for user/passwd name access f4500 info via the network

    Hello

I have a Deskjet f4500 connected via Wifi. When I connect to the printer via a browser by specifying the IP address, I get a nice graphic information page (ink levels, networking, etc...)

On this page, there are 2 other thumbnails 'Settings' and 'Networking '. When I click on these thumbnails, I get a popup window indicating that the site "printer HP Networking @" requires a user name and a password.

I have not find the name of user/passwd anywhere in the hp docs and web.

The problem is the same unser Windows or Linux.

    Can you help me?

    Thank you

  • trying to access a database on the test server msaccess

Hi, wonder if anyone can help me.

I have been tring to connect to a database access on my ftp site wiothout any chance. The file is stored on the server and every time I try to make a connection to the base I get the same error, via a DNS or a connection string.

    the error is as follows.

HTTP 404 File not found error code

    possible reasons

    1. There is no server running on the machine testingf

2 test specified for this site server is not mapped with the Http://mywebsite/httpdocs/_mmServerScripts/MMHTTPDB.asp URL . Make sure that the URL prefix is the root of the site.

(("If I download an .asp page < % Response.write(Server.MapPath("/mydatabase.mdb ")) % >, when you click the page returns;D:\inetpub\vhosts\mywebsite\httpdocs\mydatabases.mdb as well prove that the server executes scripts ASP. It does not view real-time data, return the above error. did the same with a time responswrite and works the same, good loading on the server, but does not not or the link to dreamweaver cs3.

Any ideas would be grateful, my ISP has helped me all they can, but yet they do not know why I can't get the connection works.

    all the best, Mark

    > I have been tring to connect to a database access on my ftp site wiothout any chance

I assume you are talking about web server that you can not connect to access via FTP

Check your paths for your test server in site manager.

  • I am trying to open my folder on the network.

    But I get this.

You must have missed certain permissions.  On the computer KRYCH, right click on the folder and choose Properties.  Then go to the Security tab and check that it is allowed for all.  Also check the tab of sharing for the share permissions, which are similar but distinct.
