trying to emulate another video card in my virtual machine

Hi all

I was wondering if anyone out there has a substitution method of the video card on the virtual machine - vmware svga2 currently it emulates.  I would like to install a software that is not compatible with the vmware curret svga2.  any thoughts?

Thank you

Forget it
your options are VMware SVGA2 without the 3d support and VMware SVGA2 with 3d support - that's all

If your software does not you can try only other machines virtual software such as VirtualBox or Parallels

Parallels has a version that can use a videocard uptodate more on some machines, but all in all machines virtual video is old stuff compared to any recent real hardware

  • Tried to replace the video card integrated with card pci-e x 16 and lost audio - help please

Is this normal - when you replace your car video with a pci-e video card you would lose your sound.  The system I have is a Pavilion a1450n and has 3 pci slots and 1 pci-e.  I changed the pci-e video in the bios and everything is fine, but no sound at all.  When I took out the card then I would sound.

    Please help.

The former system of video seems to give me a little trouble.  He keeps hide and freeze from time to time.  Don't know when that will happen.  But when this happens, a blue screen it freezes or just blanks out and comes back.  It will happen nobody knows.  Everything else works fine.  Hate to give up this old gem - for a lot of software installed to lose.

Thank you all very much for help.

    Hi, William.

Yes, when you have an old PC where the BIOS does not have HDMI.

Your PC thinks that you have installed a sound card and a video card because of the HD audio chip on the video card.

Thus, he disabled the integrated audio system.

    The fix should be easy...

Go into the BIOS of your PC, look at the options menu and find the onboard audio setting.

It will be set to auto or off.

Change the setting to "Enabled". Save the configuration it and yet when you go out (save the settings and exit).

When you restart, you should have the back of Board.

    HP Pavilion Slimline, s5220y

No changes have been made to PC

I need to add a video card to run an additional monitor, I would like to know if anyone has managed to do this, and if so, could they maybe give me the information I need to order a correct map. I was recommended to use

The EVGA UV19 seems to be a viable solution if the current integrated graphics adapter is suitable for your use.

  • Another video card can be installed on a model P2 1120 PC? Also, how many open bays are there?

I have HP Pavillion Model P2 1120 PC running on Windows 7 Home Premium and I would like to install a video card as quickly. This model will support this? Also, are there front open berries on this model?

    Here are the specifications of your desktop HP Pavilion p2-1120. As you can see on the photo of the motherboard down and NO expansion slot;

In addition, there is only a Bay 5.25 inch ODD (CD/DVD/Bluray) and a 3.5 inch HDD (hard drive) Bay in this system. This means that there NO bays open... internal, external or otherwise.

  • A physical server with 2 NETWORK interface card using a virtual machine as IPS (transparent VM) and everything should work normally?

    Hello guys.

Is there a diagram that I made, using for my self this question.

    2067917_1.png

As you can see, I have a physical server with 2 NIC I don't want to use a VM (with Snort) as IPS / IDS system for inbound traffic on the management of VLANS. Is it possible to use this VM in this way (as an IPS/IDS, VM with two NIC without any routing work?)? Maybe you have a suggestion, how can I achieve this, as easy as possible? Maybe you have an opinion, what OS unix system do I use?

Thank you for your time and your answers. Any useful information is much appreciated.

Yes, it should work. You need to look out for, it's that the 'outgoing' NIC is not connected to the same physical switch as the entrant and that there is no link between these two physical switches, because this would create a loop of layer 2 on the network.

I haven't worked much with Linux, but I don't see that you would have a problem to find some Linux/Unix with the possibility to bridge two network cards and use some software IPS to inspect the traffic.

  • Choose a SCSI card for your virtual machine

    Hello

Whoever did found a similar description like the one about the vmnic in the 1001805 KB for scsi adapters?

There is a new SCSI adapters available with ESX 4 and I would really like to have more information on their subject.

    A tip, tip is appreciated

    Hello

PVSCSI may give better performance according to the storage backend in use. If you want to increase the performance of storage, then this might be used for Volumes NON start.

LSI SAS is a new addition to a pilot more 'modern' that exists within some comments from the BONE and others do not. Once more, depends on the guest running operating system.

  • Double video cards

I have the video card from AMD Radeon 7950 / 3GB with 3 monitors has 30' and two of 24.  Would I be able to add an another 7950 to help speed up the video rendering?  And not to add another monitor.  Or should I replace the video card for two cards video that would be equal to 3 GB?

Yes, you can add another video card, however, I think that the 7950 requires two power connections to THE and the MP has only two connections. You probably need to add another power supply

Also if you install two cards double width, you will have only one slot of card available.

Is this possible with this model? s/n mxl9340qzl

I saw the specifications of your computer.  He has only two PCI Express X 16 slots for video cards. one is available.  There are three ways that you can go: 1) buy another video card to fill the vacant unit 2) buy a USB video adapter or 3) buy a nVidia Quadro or another workstation that supports multiple video cards.

You should make sure that the power supply unit (PSU) has enough power to run two or more cards.

    Hello

I totally agree with the Akuma.
Upgrading the graphics card is not possible on laptops.
As mentioned, the motherboards of notebook does not support a standard graphic slot.

Of course, nVidia is developing a new standard called MXM but as far as I know it s not available on your Sam 1900.

  • Satellite A200-23d video card recovery

Here is someone who knows if the Satellite A200-23d was a resumption of the video card?
Native video card ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 512 MB does not.
Can I replace it with another video card?

What do you mean by video card recovery?
Do you mean replacement/upgrade graphics card up-to-date?

The notebooks of the graphics chip cannot be upgraded or replaced. It s mostly a part of the motherboard and if something goes wrong with the graph of the chip you have to replace the motherboard.

  • Upgrade to an integrated video card

I have a desktop HP Pavilion Slimline s5212y.  I wish I could run Supreme order Forged Alliance in this respect.  It seems to need a better video card.  I have Windows 7 64-bit operating system.  SupCom runs on Directx9.

Suggestions that can be inserted in the slimline case?  I watch the series GeForce 8000 or Radeon 2000 or 3000.  I have no idea what should be or if another video card will work with this computer.

    Hello:

The biggest problem is the 220 W P/S in your PC.

Which puts a limit on what you can install.

I could go with this one. I see only one installed this in a tower case and it comes with low profile brackets that you need.

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16814125428

The specifications for the GPU indicate a maximum only 29W power draw, so you should be OK.

  • computer does not start after installing video card

I, m new here so please bear with me.  I have a PC HP Pavilion Media Center TV (m7434n) I'm trying to replace the video card (Nvidia GeForce 6200SE with Turbo Cache) in. I am trying to replace it with a Nvidia EVGA 8400GS. I delete all the nvidia drivers, make sure that the pci-e card is used in the implementation. I have then to remove the old card and install a new one. When I try to start the computer, fans turn on but that's all.  There is nothing on the monitor.  The computer does not start. I replaced the power supply bestec 300 watts with a new antec brand 430 watt power supply.  When I reinstalled the old video card, the computer starts ok. I tried to replace the video card with an ATI Radeon HD5550 too and it's the same thing (the computer would not start), reinstall the old card and it starts up fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Gary,

You may have a compatibility issue with the ATI HD 5550 and 2006 PC model.  I've seen other posts where ATI 5xxx video card did not work in older HP PCs.

When you are referring to the installation of the older video card do you mean going back to the integrated video card?  Moving the video cable to the card installed?

Install the NVIDIA 8400GS and connect the video cable. Now follow the instructions for clear the CMOS.

  • Just bought a new PC. Try to update its video card

I just bought my HP ENVY from best buy. (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/HP+-+ENVY+Desktop+-+10GB+Memory+-+1.5TB+Hard+Drive/7479285.p?id=12188471...

and im trying to upgrade the video card. I am afraid that the motherboard has only PCI Express x 1 slots. I can only put PCI Express x 1 video card in it? The specs of the PC only say available PCI slots, but the current video card slot is not mentioned. Is there anyway I can find out what the current video card slot? Thanks advance!

    Your link with Best Buy is not valid. Please check that this Best Buy link and this link desktop HP ENVY h8-1534 refer you the computer you bought. If they are correct, this model supports;

    A PCI Express x 16 (Gen 2.0)
Three PCI Express x 1 (Gen 2.0) connectors
A PCI Express mini card (for plug-in software component half-length cards) with USB connector

and already a discreet Eyefinity of AMD Radeon HD 7570 DDR3 2 GB graphics card installed at the factory.
