Trying to reinstall XP Home Edition.

I'm trying to reinstall XP Home, as my pc (F-Siemens Scalio 600i) was too old waste it contains. I made a backup of everything on an external hard drive, so I'm not worried about what anyone on this subject. I have read all the articals on the removal of IE v.8 and followed your advice here. IM using another pc for this link and to be reinstalled.

I loked in the Remove programs to remove IE 8, but it is not listed with a button Delete. I appealed, editing the registry and removed all associated I thought internet Explorer and now nothing works properly.

The pc is slow in operation no matter what I choose to do. I am trying to format the hard disk that has been upgraded 12 months in 250 GB sata and it works well. But some items do not work properly and I discovered that a lot of files of operation are missing. I regularly update the latest of all my suppliers of software protection as I us this machine for my photography and music. I would like to have a reinstall while I can reload XP with all the missing files back in place. This should eliminate all the waste that has been collected over the years hoping to make it cleaner to work with.

I'd appreciate help that this machine has now disappeared in less than half operating speed. I can't even go back to the running system restore.

If you have the recovery cd, boot from it and follow the instructions for a destructive installation.

If you have a winxp cd real http://michaelstevenstech.com/cleanxpinstall.html

The fuji site, specific to your model would probably have also instructions.

NB a clean installation will delete everything, so I hope that you have all your App cd or installation files to the outside, as well as the necessary keys

  • Problems reinstalling Vista Home Edition.

This is the first time I've posted in these forums so feel free to tell me if I'm missing out on useful information.

I have a laptop (bought in 2008), which was originally windows vista Home premium installed on it. It worked very well even if I couldn't install service pack 1. I never thought that a lot of it because it has not affected my laptop.

Recently, there was a special offers students Windows 7 for $ 5 by downloading online. I tried this but it says that I couldn't install it because I had no SP1 for vista installed. I contacted a technician microsoft e-mail and did everything she told me. Finally, she concluded that I had thousands of errors that could not be fixed manually. She suggested buying a windows vista recovery disk. I paid on the one hand, tried to reinstall vista on my laptop (which is VERY time consuming) and get a message saying something along the lines of "windows could not complete the installation, restart the installation '." I tried this THREE times. I made sure to save all of my information beforehand, but now I was not able to reinstall vista with success, that I have no way to restore, so in a sense, I lost all my information. I'm a uni student so very worried.

    Help, please.

«I've been advised by a microsoft technician to just buy a recovery disk.»

A MS Tech should have said you contact the computer manufacturer to buy a.

There is a DVD of Installation of Vista and a Disk(Neosmart,) of recovery of startup repair and recovery disc you get from the manufacturer to put your computer to the factory settings (how you bought).

Microsoft sells not recovery discs, they sell diskettes for Installation of Vista.

If you have a recovery disk computer manufacturer, boot from it and follow their instructions:

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

If you have problems using it, contact the manufacturer of the computer.

The vendor of your computer MUST provide you with a method to restore it to factory settings. Look in the documentation that accompanies it, or contact the manufacturer. If no disc has been provided so it's big, you have a hidden restore partition... If you find my answer helpful, please click the button "Vote as helpful"! Thank you!

  • XP Home Edition does not start without the installation CD after reinstall.

I reinstalled XP Home Edition on my PC without formatting the drive first in order to keep all of my data.  I have installed all service packs.  However, for some reason, I had to call Microsoft to get validated.  The only problem I have now is that it does not start without the installation CD in the drive.  I have XP on the half before the C drive and me on the back of half.  The reader is a digital WD800JBRTL of Western.  Well it worked like that for years. Why can I now not start without the CD?

    HiNeal2660,

It seems that the NTLDR file is not on the C: drive. NTLDR is the boot loader for all versions of Windows.

You can perform a Windows XP repair installation & check if you are able to start normally.

For more information, please visit this link: perform a repair Installation

Hope the helps of information. Please post back and we do know.

Then just delete the files/folders in C. I'll repeat it here...

Just delete all the C files on XP Home on D. Docs and settings, program files, windows and any other records that may exist.

Do not delete all the files in the root of C! This is essential for Windows to start. They include ntldr and NTDETECT.COM, ini, boot.

  • MY home pc has been configured as a workgroup instead of a pc in the House. How can I change this using xp home edition?

My brother did a clean reinstall of my xp home edition and it is configured as a workgroup instead of a personal computer at home. I need to change that. What I have to reinstall XP Home Edition or can it be done with the repair on my xp home disk option?  Create problems that I have my user account and the user account from my children.  All I want is to have this setup of working group last. Help, please

I don't think he did his PC a "domain". This would require a server operating system and the domain controller.

I don't see any problem with your configuration. 'Administrators' are a group of users, not a user. 'Administrator' is a user who belongs to this group 'Administrators' and therefore share the same privileges. There is no user named "admin" unless you create.

If I understand correctly, you can connect to the administrator account. So, you don't miss any privileges or access to the computer. If you want to use a different account for yourself you can create and use that one.

I ask for your specific problem. You don't tell him, at least no that looks like a problem. You seem to be confused about the installation, but I see nothing non-standard in your description apart because the administrator account is usually "hidden" after installation.

You mention an internet problem. This has nothing to do with the configuration of your account or the "working group". And what is the problem with having backup privileges? I don't understand your remark on your child's account. Sounds more like you're talking about an account on a site, with Xbox, or almost, but not with local accounts. A local account didn't need "activation".

I think you should talk to your brother in case you have problems. It seems to be knowledgeable enough to fix everything for you.
