  • Dell Dock exe "application not found" error after cleaning malware virus and fix registry problems

Hey guys!, I had a problem with malware. (In particular this Vista Internet Security * who seems to knock everyone). I fixed this problem as well as the issue with the thing of my Microsoft Security (which sets the windows Defender) and then I went through and fixed my registry problems who came later as some aftereffect of the virus. (Phew!) Now that it is finally all done I click on my dock dell to go to internet explore and BAM! "Application not found" in an area which the header indicates dell dock.exe. Now I just got through my fixing registry problems so that I have all my .exe programs can open without a problem. All other issues are resolved except this! What's wrong?! Please, someone help. (I can get Internet explore any other way, but it's not my PC and I don't want the owner to think I broke it) PS Can't do system restore I would lose my updates which are very necessary can't do a registry fix because I already did and I don't want to mess with it again is not sure if reinstall dell dock should solve the problem I just install IE9 and all my other icons in dell dock work very well

    also run the sfc/scannow command.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally madeprograms,Accessories, right-clickguest, and then clickrun as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or clickallow.
    2. Type the following command and press ENTER:
      sfc/scannow

The sfc/scannow command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions

If SFC detects the main problems it can't fix you may need to borrow a Microsoft dvd vista not an acer, HP etc. recovery disk and do a repair installation

  • DVD/CD drive registry damaged - help!

Running: Windows 7 64 bit on a brand new computer
    Material: LG 22 x DVD/RW drive
Symptom: Will not recognize any media and when you try to play, gives following error:
    "Application not found".

I tried all the possible solutions in this forum and elsewhere.  I narrowed down it to a registry problem, but I can't fix it.  I tried to follow the solution in this forum below, but my record is MISSING the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters, so I can't delete them.

I spent hours on this problem and cannot find a solution.  Help!

Step 1: Start the registry editor

Click Start, run, type regedit, and then click OK. Start the registry editor. (In Vista, right click on the registry editor and select run as administrator)

Step 2: Delete the UpperFilters registry entry

In the registry editor, expand my computer, and then expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.

Expand SYSTEM, and then expand CurrentControlSet.

    Expand control and class.

    Under class, click {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}.

In the right pane (topic area), click UpperFilters.

Entry UpperFilters.bak registry-year note may also appear. To remove the UpperFilters registry entry, you must click UpperFilters and not UpperFilters.bak.

On the Edit menu, click on delete.

When you receive the following message appears, click Yes to confirm the deletion of the UpperFilters registry entry:

Are you sure you want to delete this value?

The UpperFilters registry entry is removed from the {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} registry subkey.

Note do not exit the registry editor. You must have this program for the next step.

Step 3: Delete the LowerFilters registry entry

In the registry editor, expand my computer, and then expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.

Expand SYSTEM, and then expand CurrentControlSet.

    Expand control and class.

    Under class, click {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}.

In the right pane (topic area), click LowerFilters.

A note LowerFilters.bak registry entry may also appear.

To delete the LowerFilters registry entry, you must click LowerFilters and not LowerFilters.bak.

On the Edit menu, click on delete.

When you receive the following message appears, click Yes to confirm the deletion of the LowerFilters registry entry:

Are you sure you want to delete this value?

The LowerFilters registry entry is removed from the {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} registry subkey.

    Exit Registry Editor.

    Hello

Not in RegEdit, I thought in the Device Manager.

In the control panel - Device Manager which you may already have done.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack.

  • Satellite Pro M70 - Windows XP has stopped working - registry problems

My M70 lost (I will follow soon!). Windows XP has stopped working, registry problems. I finished by using the Toshiba Recovery disk and reformat the hard disk. Said again there is some registry problems and crashing.

    One had similar problems?

    Phil

    Hi Phil,

If your laptop is always report registry errors after having re-installed the operating system from the recovery disc, then it is likely that your hard drive has errors. The Windows XP registry is composed of several files (or urticaria), and the installation process will always be located in the same area of the hard drive.

    Kind regards

My acer has 40 registry problems that won't go away when I scan and clean your computer with a pc repair

    Hello

Too much hype of the system optimizers and registry cleaners will very likely questions while fixing anything.
They will also find errors to trick you into buying non-existent they program. Ditch the PC repair.

If you actually have Windows problems or system check with Acer support, their documentation online

  • What is the best product to solve registry problems?

    Original title: problems of regestry

I have problems of regestry.  Which is the best product to fix.

Why do you think you have registry problems?

My best advice is to stay away from registry cleaners. They are snake oil and can cause damage.
If you have problems I suggest you post in the appropriate forum and someone will solve your problem.
You must click on the orange announcement button and read it.
  • I have registry problems. My games drive no longer works: he continues to show that there is a problem with fmod.dll

I have registry problems. My games drive no longer works: he continues to show that there is a problem with fmod.dll, then when I fixed an error occurred -FSOUND-Sample_Load@16.  Also, ITunes says that there is a registry problem. We have inadvertantly deleted something or can other software recently installed it cause it was working fine until we installed a vivtar camera.

Can provide you advice on how I can overcome this problem.

  • Registry problems cause hard disk by clicking on, then blue screen

Dell support said the clicking hard drive and next blue screen is caused by a registry error. In order to solve a problem of major virus and start over, I have completely reformatted the hard drive and installed the operating system and other programs, so I can't understand why I always have a registry problem.  Although I can not specify the exact moment, it seems to happen after an update of Windows, but also occurs at random.  It would also be the installation of MS Office 2010, because I do not remember what happens before the 2010 Windows Installer.  I read that registry cleaners do not work, so I am at a loss for what to do. What I don't understand is how the registry is damaged when all that I've done is install everything from scratch.  I have a Dell Dimension 5100 running Windows XP Home Edition w/SP3.

    Hi LiveToFish,

    1. What is the problem on the computer after reinstalling Windows?

    2. don't you still get the errors blue screen on the computer? If so, then what is the message on the blue screen?

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

If the previous step fails, then check the event viewer to determine the cause of the blue screen on the computer and post back with the details.

  • I miss my cd dvd drivers and have problems to find to resettle. Any help?

I miss my cd dvd drivers and have problems to find to resettle. Any help?

Go to the support web site of the company that made the PC (there they are hard inside) or the company that makes the cd/dvd drive itself if its an external drive (USB?). They provide the drivers for their hardware.

Check on your support site relevant to the brand and specific to the model of your PC (or an external drive) and any provision supported drivers or software for the readers, should be there.

  • can not read the CD on tsstcorp dvd +-RW drive sn-208bb except on computer

Have a brand new Dell Vostro with TSSTcorp DVD +-RW Drive SN - 208BB player and audio cd of the fact now, it will not play on a cd player.  I tried to slow down the rate of combustion, with 3 different programs to burn and still cannot be read on an external cd drive.  Have tried more than one.  I can get 1 or 2 songs to play, but never the first song.  Tech Dell offers different burn program I tried and nothing has changed; and suggested different brand media.  I have yet to pick up some, but I think it's the drive.  Anyone experienced this or have any suggestions

Cd players, I've tried are RCA RP8070 & Sharp XL-UH240.

The players will read the disc (let me know how many songs and the total time used), but he won't play.  Today, I tried using a Taiyo Yuden (aie.30 per) drive and it worked fine.  It may be the inexpensive windata disc I use.  I hope that there is another drive that works and that is not so expensive.

I thought the players had to play in the disk order unless you specify random. Thank you for never-to-much for responding.
