Inspiron One 2330 and VGA/HDIM entry port

Hi all

I'm about to buy a Dell Inspiron One 2330. I wonder if the video input port (VGA/HDMI), can be used without starting Windows 8. Some PC all-in-One (other suppliers) have this feature.

I saw in the existing button configuration Guide "Input Source Select / widescreen" on the right panel.

This allows to turn on the screen without using the "Power" button (and then without starting Windows 8)?

Thanks in advance for your answers

Kind regards

Brice

Hi Brice,.

I'm sure that the answer is no. The system must be started so that the display shows an external image. I have some experience with the 27 a XPS and it's the same configuration.

I'd like to see the system works as you describe. Be able to read a DVD or BD movie without starting Windows or an external video signal. If it's any consolation, the startup time in these all-in-one systems is remarkably fast.

  • Replace the hard drive and OS re - install Inspiron One 2330

    Hello

I had my all-in-one desktop Inspiron One 2330 for about 18 months.  I see serious problems with the hard disk, the system hangs, and the event log is full of HD playback errors.

ePSA diagnosis shows code 200-0142 telling me to replace the hard drive.  The chkdsk utility runs and sometimes corrects problems and sometimes clean.  Such problems at low altitude, I'm surprised that I can start far enough away from launch internet explore and write this message.

I called Dell support and they were kind enough kindness to send me the original floppy Windows 8.1 for the Inspiron 2330.  I have a disk hard solid state ready to install, and I saw a bunch of great videos from YouTube that explain how to open the case.  The HD swap is not a big deal, but I have a few basic questions.

I know that many readers here know the answers.  Thanks in advance for help...

    1. If I install a blank HD in this installation media machine Dell recreates all of these crazy Dell partitions?  I have not of much use for them until I ran the diagnostic ePSA and it was extremely helpful.  I hope that you will tell me that if I do a fresh install, I get a new partition ePSA addition to 8.1 Windows on my replacement drive.

    2. I do not see why this machine won't support a SATA SSD SanDisk brand new instead the 1 TB hard drive that came with it.  Is it OK to use SSD drives in these Machines from Dell?

    3. have good links for the operating system Dell re - install procedure?  I will be installing Windows 8.1 on this drive.  Strangely I find no procedure to re - install step by step operating system.

    4. I have read that the activation key for Windows is now integrated into the motherboard of the machine somewhere.  Do I need to enter this key when I re-install?  I don't see all the stickers on my machine with the key.

    Thank you for your help,

I finished the upgrade SSD in my Inspiron One 2330 with very little trouble.  Here are answers to the questions for those who find my post using original research.

    1. the Dell Windows 8 installation media disc does not any recovery disc partition, new, retail.  If you install fresh by booting from the DVD drive, you get a nice clean install of Windows 8 without any extras Dell.

It seems that the diagnosis of ePSA is hosted on the motherboard of the system and not the hard drive.  I have had no trouble to boot in diagnostic mode to run tests of ePSA, even if I see any Dell diagnostic partitions.

If you install fresh from Windows 8 media you definitely lose the Dell recovery partition.  No big loss.  It is a little strange to wait the software stored on the hard disk to help you recover problems with the same hard drive.  I'll just do another clean DVD media installation if this happens again.

    2. my SanDisk 256 Gb SSD is impressive.  It costs ~ $80 on Black Friday, and now my Dell Inspiron One 2330 boots in 9 seconds.  This is measured from fully powered down for the moment, I type my password to connect.  9 seconds - crazy fast.  Modernization of the best ever.

    3. my internet search found many useful message board posts, some web sites and blogs.  Unfortunately there is no official Dell Reinstall procedure that I could find.  The complete replacement of unplugging the power to see Windows 8 on the screen by using a new SSD was about 70 minutes.  I gathered the information I could find and guess the rest.  Worked for me.

4 Windows 8 activation code is not necessary for a media of Dell Windows 8 re - install.  The installation process of Windows 8 should be reading the key out of the motherboard because I've never been invited to type one in.

Here are a few other tidbits:

    5. the Dell Windows 8 media support I was sent by Dell wasn't Windows 8 and 8.1.  I spent more time pulling down of updates, restart and then installing Windows 8.1 on the app store that I did replace the hard drive.  Don't forget: some updates depend on other updates being present.  Really, you need to run the Windows update utility several times to get everything down.

On the good side of things, my restarts are now long 9 seconds.  I have no problem whatsoever reset to any indication that the system needs to restart to complete the installation of an update.

    6. after obtaining my update to 8.1 Windows system, I installed all the latest drivers for the Inspiron One 2330, which could be downloaded from Dell.  This figure includes a BIOS update which has been a royal pain to apply.  To do this I had to create a start-up separated from 'BACK' USB key.  In fact, it is possible to create this rudimentary special boot using utilities downloaded from Dell drive.  Locate the "diagnostic Distribution Package (DDDP)".  Good luck with that.

7 Dell backup and restore has been completely useless for the replacement of my SSD.  I have had two drives bootable USB thumb complete with full system backups, the backup restore and Dell refused to restore my data on my Virgin SSD drive.  The error message has complained that my new drive is too small.  It was laughable: my original hard drive was something like 95% of free space.

    8. There is a bonus in all this: by rebuilding your system using the original Windows 8 media, you get a nice fast machine without the excessive Dell bloat-ware.  I do miss the software pre-installed in all.  Glad to get rid of it in fact.

  • Cannot read DVD on Inspiron One 2330

I bought an Inspiron One 2330 in December and just tried to play a DVD without success.  If I put on a CD with pictures, it does not come to the top, but I can access all the photos if I open the file, but the CD does not come up on top of the office.

I called the support Office and was informed that there is a software problem on a brand new computer.  Anyone know how I can fix the problem of grubbing-up of DVD on this computer?

Okay, that's good. At least the drive works. Just need to understand why it will not play.

What you need to do, is tell Windows what application plays your DVD movies. Click here for an explanation of how to set AutoPlay in Windows 8 options. When you get to the AutoPlay window, next to movies on DVD, you must select your DVD program. It could be something like PowerDVD.

If you do not find a program to play DVDs on your computer, you can always try VLC Media Player (free). Works fine on Windows 8.

  • Caching SSDS on Inspiron One 2330 turn on/off before/after backup Image C:

My new Inspiron one 2330 works under 64-bit Windows 8 and SSD Caching-as put in place by DELL

Before I run Acronis True Image 2013 to generate a backup Image of your hard drive, I need to disable the SSD Cache.
Otherwise the restored Image cannot start successfully - because the content of the HARD drive would be incorrect.
After the backup is completed and verified, I need to turn on SSD Caching.
To do this, I want to insert a command-line command before / after the backup operation in the Acronis program options.

    So my Question is actually:
What command line command (C: /...) can I use to make the switch or disable the Cache of 8 SSD 64-bit WIndows?

    Thank you!

    Hello Reinhard Klein,

You can follow the steps below in order to dissociate the SSD cache:

You can create an image with Acronis and then follow the steps below to reassociate SSD cache:

Note: Dell has not tested or approve the use of Acronis True Image to create a backup of the image.

    I hope this helps.

  • Dell Inspiron One 2330 AIO won't boot screen logo

I tested new construction Insider look at window 10.  Everything worked and then Explorer froze and did not. I did a CTRL + ALT + DELETE and started the Task Manager to start Explorer.exe. But no reaction from the system in response to strikes. I was force to manually power off the machine.

After that, now when I turn on the 2330 it turn on the fan internal and looking for the DVD player and goes to the screen of the Dell Logo just stays there. Stuck at the Logo screen. Start button / stop remains white. No matter what I'm doing, F2 and F12 while turning the power on, the computer does not respond. If I press the bar space a progress line comes under the logo and F12 will appear in the upper right. If I press F12 during this time, he doesn't think I'm for the start menu.  He's right there with the Dell Logo and it will stay like this for more than 24 hours or more, never a response.

I unplugged the power cord and you press the power button for two minutes to discharge static electricity. It made no difference.

It happened a day after my extended warranty expired. Last year I had this same problem and Dell sent a guy in my house with a new motherboard, which fixed the problem. Now a year later, my motherboard is dead again. And ideally for Dell, my warranty has elapsed the previous day, what is the problem with these motherboards? Why they keep breaking on me?

Yes, it was the motherboard.  Dell tech came out and put a new in and everything works as it was before the MB has failed. Thank you rep Dell Rishi.

  • Dell inspiron one a HDMI input with output usb audio

Hi, I recently bought a dell inspiron one 2330 and some of my blu - ray high-fidelity discs do not work very well at all. :(un peu déçu car c'était la principale raison que je l'ai acheté.)

So I tried my blu - ray player in the HDMI port, but now it only uses the computer speakers not my B & W Zeppelin air via the USB input.

If advice how to fix the blu - ray glitch player that seems to start and stop on most of my records or produce audio output to HDMI input to the USB port would be much appreciated

    Thanks in advance.

Which seems to indicate a problem with your video card. The cooling works may not properly. I would contact Dell on the replacement of it. This may explain the poor video performance.

  • Dell Inspiron One HDMI question

I have an Inspiron One 2320.  I tried to connect a TV as a second monitor.  To my surprise, the computer's HDMI port is a HDMI input port.  Am I reading correctly?  Can someone please help me and confirm that I can't use the HDMI port to connect to the TV?

If it is in fact a HDMI input, what is - this really for?  What devices that require an HDMI port to send the signal to the computer.

I am so confuse with it, and why even do a HDMI input and not a HDMI output?

    Thanks in advance

I have an Inspiron One 2330 Touch.

Other features include an HDMI port... A HDMI-IN port. It would be something like a Blu - Ray player, cable box or DVR amp HDMI out, Tablet... something like that... like the Inspiron is a simple monitor or HDTV.

I was also surprised that the video output was only a VGA 15 pins. Maybe the next model will have a DVI output. At least this way, either natively or with a converter inexpensive... you can drive DVI, VGA or HDMI even (with no sound). DisplayPort is a versatile alternative.

In your case... If your template does not output a VGA (or your second monitor is not a VGA input)... you should be able to get a "USB video card.

  • Inspiron One 23 (2330) left the port rear HDMI is Indiana only, not RELEASED

Hello everyone. I have a Dell inspiron all-in-one with Windows 8.1 2330. I want to connect a LG monitor via an hdmi cable, but it does not recognize. I am sure that the problem is the device of Dell, as with other devices, the connection works.

The Inspiron One 23 (2330) left rear HDMI port is IN , not OUT. It is designed so that you can connect an external device such as a video camera and display the camera image on the screen of the Inspiron One 23 (2330). You will need to connect an external monitor to the Inspiron One 23 (2330) VGA port on the right rear.

  • His use of the AIO Inspiron One HDMI input jack 2330?

    Greetings,

I'm looking at the computer Inspiron One of AIO 2330 with the Core i5 processor. I understand that this computer comes with an HDMI port

I can't seem to find information on what I could use this port for so I was wondering if someone could enlighten me. Specifically, I was hoping that he could've able to do the following. My TV provider digital tuner box using HDMI to connect to the TV. I was wondering if I would be able to snag one of the digital tuner until the HDMI in port on the computer and use it as a monitor for the tuner box?

    Thank you

    Gord

    Hey, Gord

Yes, you should be able to do. Let me mention that I did on a XPS One 2720 system and the video was nice connecting the my set - top box HDMI signal. However, the audio did not work. In theory the HDMI can carry video and audio signals, so I don't know what the problem was. But the video part worked fine.

  • The use of pins of status (4 outputs) and data (8 entries) of the parallel port pins at the same time.

    Hi all

I'm a newbee in labview. As part of my project work, I need to get 8 digital inputs and send 4 digital outputs.so I think to use the Parallel Port on the pc.i can make use of 8 datalines for entries. I found the site NOR is it possible to use status for output pins. But is it possible to use status for output pins pins and data for entries to the time.please help even me also mention of the measures to take, or keep in mind while implementing.also include any example vi that could be useful.

    Thanks in advance

I would recommed you to NOT use the parallel port. Now a day you have hardly a PC with parallel port. also if you have some old PC then most likely last version of LabVIEW (e.g. 2010) will need a lot more memory RAM and processor.

If you want a solution very very low cost then I would recommend using an arduino to that effect. You can then download LabVIEW Interface for Arduino and start working.

If you continue to use the parallel port, then you could try (I haven't worked with parallel port and have not tested the following solutions)

Download VIPM and then install the enclosed package. It will add the port e/s palette in your labview. and you can use it.

I forgot my password for windows 7 for my laptop and a reset disk has not been created. How can I recover the password or create a new one? and I have a dell inspiron one 19 desktop... your help will be very appreciated thanks in advance!

Here are the usual methods to solve this problem:

    • Restart the computer with your Windows repair CD, then use system restore to set Windows in a few days (only works if you have recently changed the password).
    • Logging in as a different admin account and then reset the password for your existing account (works only if create you an alternative admin account).
    • Log in as administrator mode without failure, then reset the password for your existing account (works only if you have activated the account administrator and know its password).
    • Insert your flash drive USB with the password key file (only works if you have created such a keyfile).
    • Check your paper files (works only if you threw down the password somewhere)

If none of these standard precautions work for you, then the remedy will be painful. Post again if this is the case.

Not with ordinary Muse. These things requires a dynamic backend with a connection database and in your case quite likely some substantial customization and programming.
