TT2600 integer overflow

Hi all

We just had a problem with the select on a column with the data type of TT_INTEGER. When you run a "select sum (column) of...» "on a TT_INTEGER column, we get the error: TT2600: integer overflow. This is because the result is larger than the max int value.

Does this mean we have to define the data type on the TT_BIGINT column even if all of the values are smaller than int max?

What we found is that works a casting: select sum (cast(column1 as TT_BIGINT)) of...  The problem is that the selection above is created by OBIEE.

Thank you

Thomas

As you've found, a simple FONT solves this problem, but given that the queries are generated by OBIEE your only easy option is to redefine the columns as TT_BIGINT.

    Description
    Charlie Miller has discovered a vulnerability [criticism] in Adobe Reader / Acrobat, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.

    Vulnerability is due to an integer overflow error in CoolType.dll during the analysis of the value of the 'maxCompositePoints' field in table 'maxp' (profile Maximum) of a TrueType font. This can be exploited to memory corrupted via a PDF file containing a specially designed TrueType font.

    Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code.

    The vulnerability is confirmed in Adobe Reader versions 8.2.3 and 9.3.3 and Adobe Acrobat version 9.3.3. Other versions may also be affected.

  • overflow in the interim results of data types

    Hi all

    I'm sorry, this is a very basic question...

    I have the following expression, giving me an unexpected result because overflow:

    D1 = RoundRealToNearestInteger (i1 * l1 / l2);

    D1 is of type double, l1, l2 of type long int and i1 of the type ssize_t (on a 32-bit computer, i.e. signed int);

    for example using the digital the values of l1 = 14577, l2 = 1568, i1 = 156142 I find myself with d1 being negative (-1.287554e6);

    This happens if the result of the multiplication is greater than 31 bits (signed int).

    In fact, I would have expected that the intermediate result would be long integer (long int int times) or double type (implicit cast), but it seems to be of type int...

    Y at - it a 'rule' what type of data medium is used and can be expected in such a case?

    BTW, I am aware that I can avoid the problem by reorganizing the calculation: l1 / l2 * i1

    Thank you!

    Wolfgang,

    C basic rule for arithmetic calculations, is that all the items concerned are promoted to the highest current type. Thus, for example, that if you multiply an int by a tank, the tank is first promoted to an int, then the multiplication is performed. (This is why you must explicitly cast a variable to a double - the compiler then automatically will encourage others to double). In your example, the largest involved type is a 32-bit int, (even the long type) so this is what would be used for calculations. This gives a digital overflow, a standard C compiler just do not know. As the function you use takes a double parameter in any case, the final result of the calculations all over will be converted twice, but only after integers was carried out. The right solution is to first l1 or i1 to a double cast.

    (Note: there is an ambiguity in the ANSI specification on how many parameters are encouraged.) Some interpretations are that all the parameters in an expression are converted before the calculations are made, other whole-hearted are that only the two components of a single operation are put in correspondence. So, in your example, it would be unwise to simply throw l2 duplicate - it may work, but it is not guaranteed to be portable between compilers.)

  • How to scan a 32-bit unsigned integer to a string?

    I'm trying to analyze a 32-bit unsigned integer to a string value.  I tried to change the format from %d to %u string with no luck.  Maintaining the function return 0x7FFFFFFF (2147483647) when salvation bit is set.

    Can we define the format string such as LabView will show a 32-bit unsigned integer value?

    Thanks for your help,

    Phil

    No, use of %d. If you read these numbers in the %x, they will overflow. In addition, you must connect a constant of diagram U32 'default value' "channel scan" entry, otherwise you get I32, which is inusfficient for your data.

  • Overflow hidden works not

    Hey,.

    I need to disable scrolling on the body and turning it on div which appears on the top.

    I'm trying body overflow: hidden;
    and on the div that show superior overflow: auto;

    It works in all the major mobile browsers, but in firefox, it isn't.

    I have addded an image that represents my problem
    black frame is viewport
    Red box is body with overflow: hidden
    cyan box is div with overflow: auto

    This is with an example-jsfiddle: http://jsfiddle.net/gwhkLnbu/1/
    on mobile firefox you can scroll the div red, but you can't do that on any other browser

    Hello, thanks for brining up - this seems to be the bug #886969 that have not seen a lot of activity recently unfortunately...

  • Is there a way to show "Bookmark toolbar items" in the Navigation bar, without its setting in the overflow chevron?

    Today I updated to 31.0 30.0 FF, but he eventually change the placement of my toolbar items. Originally, I did ensure that bookmarks toolbar items were placed in the Navigation bar, as well as my icon options firefox 3-bar and bookmarks, download. But now, the bookmarks toolbar items is placed in the overflow chevron icon, as well as other elements of the toolbar (for example, downloading and the extension of Pocket icon).

    Is there a way to prevent this behavior, or should I try to move everything to another toolbar?

    Here are a few screenshots that describes my problem:
    Installation of original toolbar (30.0 FF): https://www.dropbox.com/s/76ovfh2f929n8o4/firefox31.0toolbaroriginal.png
    Changed the configuration of the toolbar (31,0 FF): https://www.dropbox.com/s/qrrllq8m7a98yjl/firefox31.0toolbarchanged.PNG

    In the previous thread we found not somehow integrated to move the items in toolbar of bookmarks on another bar that worked. See: why 31 FF no longer displays my items in toolbar bookmarks in an another toolbar. Maybe someone can develop a custom style rule or any other hack to make it work.

  • Firefox please add a webkit for styling the div overflow scroll bars? Chrome has and they spend you upward.

    Firefox still leaves us the div overflow style scroll bars. Chrome and they are passing firefox upward! Do you think that one day before I got to the old code, they will add a webkit for styling the div overflow scroll bars?

  • User profile of Stack overflow is not displayed correctly

    User Stack overflow profile page is displayed wrongly, hides an empty space at the top of the page and some info.

    I see what you mean. It seems that the dropdown that says 'Summary' push this content to the large block to the right (sometimes you can see a small piece of it on the right edge of the page). This problem does not occur in the (2.3.4) stock Android browser.

    If I use a Fennec useragent string in the User Agent Switcher extension, I can reproduce the problem on a desktop browser (13 Firefox beta 4). The drop down menu is floated in a container that uses 100% of the width of the screen. The next element floats upward alongside < select > rather than fall under this one, because this next item is not a specified width or the minimum width.

    StackOverflow can solve this problem by changing the CSS to include a rule of compensation:

    .inner-wrap { padding: 5px; overflow: auto; clear: left; }

    However, as end users, I don't know if there is something we can do.

    This problem appeared in the sites for years, and it seems unlikely that Firefox will change the way it handles the floats to work around developers who forget to erase. (Guess as to what the developer must have wanted was something that IE is long, but I think even Microsoft starting to require developers to pay more attention).

  • base handling integer does not not on HP first Calc?

    I am a new user of the first HP Calculator.  Suite page 585 of the manual on the manipulations of integer.  I've entered a number #100001100 b and to display its value in hexadecimal form or decimation.  I scroll to the top to select.  Then I press the passage, the base key (directly to the right of 3), but I don't get the whole edit dialog box.  I have an input # as she waits for a new number to register.

    What I am doing wrong?

    After that I got the same problem, to update my firmware, I found that the following procedure works.

    1. manually put your first update the firmware by holding down mode button Symb when executing a reset of a paper clip.  You will see 'First HP Recovery Mode' at the top of the screen.

    2. important: connect the first USB 2.0 port that is closer to your motherboard as possible.  USB ports that are connected by an extension or a hub often will fail, even if it is a powered hub.  USB 3 ports have also been known to fail.

    3. navigate in Windows Explorer to the folder of installation of the connectivity Kit.  In 32-bit Winows 7, here it is:

    "C:\Program Hewlett-Packard HP Connectivity Kit.

    4. run the "Updater.exe" program directly from this folder.

    It should work.  If this isn't the case, I can only suggest to try another computer.  Some people have reported having no success with a computer, then the success with another.

    Hello

    It is the mystery!

    Check if any "additional" hardware was built in like RAM, PCMCIA cards. Please connect try it before you start to install the operating system. The computer may need a BIOS upgrade. Check the version of the BIOS and if you can find a real on Toshiba page do a BIOS update.
